Wow... even now thinking about that needle gives me the willies... I remember by this stage being off work, a being anxious to get this started. I felt like a fraud because despite the fact I was clearly very sick, I just felt like a normal guy, sitting around waiting for the next thing. The whole thing was like a bizarre dream.

The moral of this part of the story really is, see your doctor... get checked out even if you think you might be over reacting. I felt more or less fine, I didn’t feel sick even at this point yet my liver was absolutely riddled with cancer cells. in the CT scans it looked like swiss cheese!

Like EVERYTIME I see my doctor, or a nurse, it anyone, in any space in the oncology office, people start shouting about my poop. Chemo messes with everything, including that. 4 cycles in and I'm shedding like a cat in the middle of a heat wave. When it started, I buzzed everything down to super short. I'm glad I did because watching my full length fall out left and right would be a lot. Now it's like a game. How much will fall out today, Bob?! [Excerpt] I don't spend a lot of time in the comic on my good experiences with doctors. This was deliberate - I didn't want to glorify them any more than society already does. But that's not to say I didn't have moments of real appreciation for the level of care I was receiving. Like when one of my doctors emailed me in the middle of the night to say she'd thought of a solution to one of the tough decisions I had to make. Next level care, am I right??
