not liking spencer reid does not make you ableist!! i might get #cancelled for saying this but spencer reid having autism is a headcanon… it was never confirmed in the show the writers had soooo many chances to make it canon but they never did. i don’t know if it’s because they didn’t want him to be autistic or they wanted to leave it open for the viewer to decide but they never confirmed it making it no more than a headcanon—NOW! please don’t get mad at me because i said this, this isn’t me saying he is or isn’t i’m just simply saying there are very valid reasons to not like spencer especially from jj stans that has nothing to do with him being autistic 😭😭😭

The End of 911 Lone Star

Well, guys. The announcement has been made. Season five is, indeed, going to be the end.

I'm not gonna say I'm not sad... But I do think there's a silver lining here.

This has been a fantastic show with amazing characters and representation the likes of which I've never seen. (Which somehow miraculously even managed to never feel forced, even though half the premise of this show was "hey, this station needs more diversity; come cherry-pick some firefighters from across the country to fix that.")

Of course I'd love to see this go on indefinitely... but within reason. Yes, we're living in an era of TV shows getting canceled far too soon... But I've also seen plenty of shows burn out and keep dragging along the dead horse of their popularity long after it should have just given its fans a real conclusion they could have been proud of and been done with it.

I'm already super on the fence about how they're possibly going to explain away Grace's absence in a way that works. I'm not totally convinced it can be done.

I don't want this show to get to that point, where half the most beloved characters are all dead or absent for one reason or another, and I'm only sticking around out of a sense of obligation to something I once loved. (You want a good example? I loved Criminal Minds back in the day. But it absolutely should have ended after, like, season 10. It's only been over for 2 years, and they're already Frankenstein-ing a reboot to life! Listen, it was great while it lasted. Now let this thing rest in peace!)

We had some low moments. There were a couple dumb plot points and shaky writing decisions... But overall, I want this to be a series we can all look back on fondly. Here's to a great final season.

Season 15 is what I will point to that’s particularly baffling in how the show styled Prentiss. We already have to contend with the ugly Cleopatra wig.

And then the show started styling her out of character ways. Episode 7 is the most egregious wit this because look:

The dress, the heels? Even when Emily wore dresses this isn’t her style! We’ve seen Emily wear skirts and dresses. Also what is this big bag all of a sudden?

Again, this is why I prefer the styling for Evolution Emily Prentiss. Last seasons Emily Prentiss in the OG show was so baffling.

And then they had her wear this blouse with THAT wig. And I’m starting to wonder if Paget Brewster lost a bet.

Why were Pagets’ characters — Frankie Dart (Community) and Sara Kingsley (Grandfathered) — styled better than on Criminal Minds??

See that whole outfit? The fabulous red coat? I’m glad Emily started dressing like Emily Prentiss again in the last season.

I will take Evolution over that last seasons of the OG show, any day.

Also, episode 7 of season 15 did the opposite of selling me on Andrew Mendoza as a romantic partner for Emily. I thought that at least, if he made her happy I’d be down with that.

But everything from that episode and episode before that just showed me Emily was settling. And, also because so many of her friends told her she had to stop running and putting up walls— but she’s not doing all those things because she had cold feet, she did that because she wasn’t feeling it.

Andrew Mendoza is a great guy but also he’s persistent. But once his constant presence disappeared from her life… Emily started realizing Andrew wasn’t for her, and with the lockdown, I bet that just made it all too apparent.

(Also, it felt like casting just got a handsome man but didn’t bother with a chemistry test. Paget had more chemistry with her lawyer friend in season 12! Actually, felt like there was some low key attraction there between Alvez and Prentiss but that was pushed away when she became the boss.)

Paget Brewster can also bring it when she has chemistry, just look at Grandfathered. Brewster and Stamos were so good there that I was so sad when they canceled Grandfathered!

the current bane of my existence is learning more and more about different shows getting cancelled or chracters being killed off/being compeltely changed because they were meant to be queer in the initial drafts of them being created OR when shows are cancelled after having queer representation

(idk how many of these are completely accurate but Apple and Darling being canaonly queer and then the show gets cancelled after a special that didn't include either of them? and Apple had like one minute in the sun getting to talk about how her destiny wasn't the same anymore? sus bro

also apparently Spencer Reid and Emily Prentiss from Criminal Minds were both supposed to be fruity [Reid being bi and Prentiss being a lesbian] but then the show runners said that wasn't allowed or something?? we were robbed of bi Reid that's all I'm going to say [I'm salty becuse I'm bi and I love Spencer Reid]

and how Rise Of The Pink Ladies is allegedly getting cancelled after we got such great queer representation and even specially devoted storylines to it? that's a crime in my book idk about you

why was mick rawson in literally one episode. THE POTENTIAL this man had was insane. sniper? was in the british intelligence? the chemistry with prentiss? I could go on and on. the cr producers were scared that he would outshine the original team and that’s all I’ll say on that.

Got so worked up about the CM showrunners' allergy to continuity that I had to walk away from Tumblr for a while. Had to shutdown the laptop and go take a break because I was getting too pissed off at Messmaker.

I wish, more than anything, I could just like -- not care about this fandom anymore. I went YEARS thinking I'd found freedom, but it was all a lie. It was only dormant, it never truly left.

If my time in this fandom were a person, they could vote this year. Congratultions to my horrid curse of CM being a special interest I'll never excape -- now old enough to be graduating HS, just like I was when I started watching this show.
