While I impatiently wait for @foundersbrewing's #canadianbreakfaststout to hit my favorite local beer shop, I am warming up with their base breakfast stout - which is wonderful on it's own. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and imported chocolates, and Sumatra and Kona coffee, this stout has an intense fresh-roasted java nose topped with a frothy, cinnamon-colored head that goes on forever. Dug deep into the Stout Cellar and found this @2017 vintage of @foundersbrewing Canadian Breakfast Stout - otherwise known as the Mountie CBS! Love the balance of coffee bitterness, the maple sweetness, and the notes from the bourbon barrel aging! 5 years of slumber only helped to smooth out any rough edges!
