Hi just wanted to say ignore the haters there acting like d.cks, I find your ocs really interesting. What inspired you to create them ? I like Arabella sounds she sounds really cute I wonder how does her devil fruit work ?
Oakleigh already deserves a hug for having to deal with Judge ( aww Sora x Zeff~) , I wonder what made him love her ? If there do have kids would there like Sanji sibling ?
I already like Lyra already XD I wonder has Lyric ever tried to convince the Blackbeard pirates to show mercy or has she failed ? How do Lyra and Lyric react each other situation with one being pregnant and the other got a lot of husbands ?
I feel like Harmony and Apoo music playlist has some songs from the book of life film (Heaven knows your name , Iāve been prayingš¶ For an example)
Aww hope we get more moments with Mabelle acting like a mother figure to Luffy and Uta š„ŗ
I really like all your ocs , I wonder will we see more of them in the future or maybe see new ocs ~
Hey there, friend! Thanks for sending in this ask about my OCās as it makes me really happy to talk about them like it always puts a smile on my face! Unless itās an angst scenario of course in which case I usually just cryā¦
But hey! Nothing wrong with crying especially if it makes you feel better afterwards! Itās always just good to have a good cry sometimes!
Anywaysā¦

So what inspires me to make these characters is personally private information that I will only disclose to friends as I donāt feel comfortable telling people what inspires me to create these characters but I can tell you the process of how I make them
So the idea for the character hits me in one of two ways and itās through getting lost in my thoughts or thinking about random topics while Iām in the shower
I do some working, run it by another friend of mine whose more knowledgeable about One Piece then I am to see if it makes sense in terms of the OP world, design them in Gacha Club once I have an idea of what I want the character to look like, make jokes that give way to new character traits and development, read through a long list of names to pick one out, and boom! Thereās a new character!
All in all though, I have about 20+ OCās who are meant for being shipped with canon characters with the most recent one being an unnamed one that I have named Goth Bunny who is the S/O of Penguin and Shachi while one that I still need to design is one named Ember who doesnāt have anything going for her other than that sheās Ace and Saboās S/O and I wanna make her be related to water in some way
Anywho, I actually do have some Aesthetic Boards for these characters too which I will include after I have finished answering your questions!
Arabella was actually my first OC x Canon and believe it or not, she didnāt actually start off as a writer or even a One Piece character as she was just a woman that I designed one day and after I didnāt like how the Admirals original wife turned out, Arabella stepped up to the plate after a dumb scenario that I had a long time ago where her Devil Fruit went out of control and she started Godzilla Rampaging only for the Admirals to be dispatched to deal with her and them seeing that sheās just a normal lady when they knock her unconscious and she reverts back to normal
As for how her Devil Fruit works, Arabellaās Devil Fruit causes her to constantly have horns on the sides of her head, eyes that resemble that of a goats, and the tendency to grow wool around her neck like a scarf. Other than that, it acts like a typical Zoan Devil Fruit would.
Not too much special about it in all honesty besides the fact that she can have those parts even as a fully fledged human and the fact that she has a much stronger skull thatās meant for ramming into things
Oh! And she actually does have a Dad whose a canon character as well and if youāre familiar with One Piece Film Z then itās actually Z himself, he had her with his wife when he was younger so the age difference between her and the Admirals isnāt too egregious
They actually didnāt know that her Dad was Z too until much later in life as they always assumed that she was another trainee until they married her and got her pregnant only for Z to come crashing through the entirety of Marineford by himself to fuck up the people that dared to knock up his daughter
Also if youāre wondering why Arabella didnāt invite him to her wedding, it was because she had lost contact with him a year after he had formed the Neo-Marines to the point where neither had any clue on how to contact the other
They had only just figured out how to talk to each other again when Z found out that she was pregnant and went on a Godzilla Style Rampage through Marineford sending Marines flying everywhere that he went
Z did eventually calm down and talked with Arabella for a long time before the two of them exchanged contact information and parted ways with Z promising to teach her Haki after she gives birth so she can properly get revenge on Kizaru if he starts being very, very annoying
I also did give Arabella a body type shape so if she did have a body type shape then it would actually be a Strawberry and Arabella prefers to walk with her hands clasped in front of her

āāāāāāāāāāāāā
Yeah, Iām not gonna lie when I say that sometimes I feel sorry for Oakleigh as well especially considering that sheās married to Judge
What caused Judge to love Oakleigh wasnāt anything on her part as she wasnāt trying to make him fall in love with her, she was just trying to make sure that the King didnāt die from sadness by giving him the best therapy that she could about every week
It was all just talking about how Sora leaving him for a cook out in the East Blue was making him feel and things that he could potentially do in order to feel better that wasnāt stalking her or attempting to make plans to get her back
Things were going quite well but way back when Judge initially woke up after losing consciousness, he did mistake Oakleigh for Sora because he had never met her before and she looked somewhat close to her but turns out that it was just Oakleigh
During the therapy sessions, he started thinking about things more and more until he finally decided on something that could really truly help him which was to get down on one knee in front of her and propose to her, she did try to refuse at first but itās Judge so he forced her to marry him
She was a bit of a replacement for Sora but donāt get Judge wrong as he does know that Oakleigh is not Sora to an extent but heās lonely and misses his ex and Oakleigh looks like his ex soā¦ Thatās kind of how he wound up falling for her, itās the fact that she looks like Sora and she was so kind to himā¦
There are scenarios actually where Zeff and Sora meet Oakleigh like a while after they get married because Sora and Judge agreed to visitation with the kids like one week with Sora then one week with Judge but Sanji never goes to Judgeās
Anyways Iām getting off topic but when they meet Oakleigh, sometimes they decide that they like her too and want to be able to marry her as well because sheās cute, sheās great with the kids especially Sanji, sheās caring, and sheās a fairly good cook on top of that
Oakleigh really canāt catch a break especially as I have a small headcanon that Sora is rather possessive like not to the level of a full blown Yandere but close so imagine walking in on your forced husband and his ex discussing how they want to split time with you
To answer your question about the children, itās likely that if Oakleigh ever fell pregnant then I think that Judge might try to see if the kids belong to him or Zeff as if theyāre Zeffās then heās going to let them be Zeffās problem but if they belong to him then those babies will definitely turn out like Sanjiās brothers
However I can also see Judge being an incredibly overprotective partner when Oakleigh is pregnant as although he did let the same thing that Sora went through happen to Oakleigh, heās overprotective in other ways
To give you an example, Oakleigh will be walking calmly along then turn around. Thereās a soldier following her. She continues on her walk and turns around again. Now thereās two and this continues until she has like ten soldiers following her all trying to be inconspicuous but failing really badly
Also just like Arabella, she actually did have a previous concept that Iāve completely dropped for her in favor of her current one. Her original one that she was actually a creature that liked to make people fall in love with her so she could eat their love then leave them heartbroken but couldnāt leave because Judge wouldnāt let her and she could never get close enough or be alone long enough to eat his love but I dropped that in favor of her current self

āāāāāāāāāā-
Lyra was actually a character that I completely pulled out of my ass when I first made her up as I had no inspiration for her and came up with it while I was designing her as she was an investigative reporter seeking out the truth behind recent disappearances only to be led to Thriller Bark. She eventually did evolve into a Mortician after I watched the Mortuary Assistant
Lyric also was different too as Lyra and her werenāt even related at first and originally Lyric was based off of the game Changed where she had this bag of bottled liquid that when poured on her would turn her into an animal/human hybrid that could help out with things but she could also only be turned back by sea water as it would wash off the liquid that turned her but I dropped that as it didnāt feel like it quite made sense with the One Piece world and eventually she became an Acrobat
To answer your question about if Lyric has ever been able to stop them from doing bad things, she can if itās something small but these people burnt her circus to the ground leaving her as seemingly the only survivor just because she didnāt want to go with them so thereās not much that she can convince them to not do
Lyric is very strong and somewhat intimidating for a lot of them but at the end of the day, theyāre much stronger than her and if she puts up too much of a fight then they canāt easily just lock her up until itās over
To give you an example of things that she has been able to talk them out of versus things that she hasnāt. She has been able to talk them out of just killing one random person who insulted them, she canāt talk them out of pillaging an island
As for the showing mercy part, she might be able to depending on the situation but no matter what it is. If theyāve already started doing it then itās very unlikely that sheāll be able to convince them and if she does then Teach usually makes her give them something in return like pleasing them in some way
And although Lyric does hate doing it, she tries not to care too much as long as they keep their end of the deal on showing mercy and she doesnāt wind up pregnant as although she loves kids, she doesnāt want to have any with them as at the end of the day, she is a prisoner
If Lyra and Lyric were to meet after Shiryu takes Absalomās Devil Fruit then the two of them would talk for a bit, theyād be happy to see each other at first but then Lyra would reveal that sheās a single parent now
Lyric would feel so sorry for her and eventually when she gets details about Lyraās ex-husband, sheās pissed as sheād excuse herself. Go straight to the Blackbeard Pirates with her head hung low, theyād try to ask whatās wrong with her but proceed to her calling everyone to one room and going on such a long rant about what they did that theyāre all sitting on their knees in front of her
Don't try to stop her either as Teach tried to and sheās now holding him tightly by his ear basically turning him into her bitch for as long as sheās on this rant
Eventually though sheāll chill and itās after Lyra came to find her when Lyric was gone too long, Lyra followed the shouting and found her chewing out the Blackbeard Pirates
They all expected Lyra to get it too but plot twist when Lyric letās go and gets down onto her hands and knees in front of Lyra to beg for the womanās forgiveness in what happened to Absalom
Lyra would be pissed and would show that rage strength isnāt just something that Lyric has as Lyra goes right up to Shiryu and beats him so bad that heās in the hospital for like two days, she just didnāt kill him because she isnāt a murderer
Lyric would do her best to comfort Lyra after that but as for how Lyra would react to Lyricās new life as the crew wife of the Blackbeard Pirates, she would actually feel sorry for Lyric like she knows that she canāt do anything for the Acrobat though because itās the Blackbeard Pirates
She does try to give advice to Lyric though on things that she thinks would be useful for Lyric to escape though and even tries to help her figure out what would be the best island to run away to if Lyric ever did manage to escape

āāāāāāāāāāāā
I have to say that Iāve actually never heard that song but it sounds like it will be good, I own the movie The Book of Life though so Iāll watch it the next time that I have time to kill
Hereās something about Harmony though, she actually isnāt biologically related to Lyric and Lyra as she was basically adopted by the two of them as their cousin and stuck with that story and where Harmony came from is incredibly chaotic but thatās a story for another day
As for music that I could see fitting Harmony and Apoo, I gotta say that Iām not entirely sure as Iāve never been too good at assigning songs to people but I do know that Harmony would dedicate some soft and quiet love songs to Apoo while he probably dedicates some more loud and funky sounding love songs to her that probably consist of rapping
Thing is about their music tastes as well is that if they were to ever have a child together then the child would inherit both of of their parents music styles meaning imagine either really soft and calm sounding rap that you can fall asleep to or a singer whose really loud with lyrics that would belong more in calmer style of music

āāāāāāāāāāāā

Is one piece a good show? I haven't had anything catch my eye recently so I've got no manga or anime to watch :(( On that note, any recommendations?
HIYA!!!
Well for one, I'm biased to say it absolutely is! But if you want details then lemme give you some along with some warnings ! Iāll put them under the cut though to avoid a super long ask on peopleās dash oh goodness,,,Ā
Iāll make this ask mostly about One Piece, but some quick reccs for you to look into will be:
- Mairimashita! Iruma-Kun!
- Natsume Yuujinchou
- Ao No Exorcist
- Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun [I DIDNāT FINISH IT YET CAUSE ONE PIECE GRABBED ME SO IF THEREāS ANYTHING WEIRD OUT OF THE BLUE IN THE LAST EPSĀ IāM SORRY BUT IT WAS VERY CUTE FROM EVERYTHING I SAW??]
- The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
- Gakuen Babysitters [Again, havenāt finished, but super cute from what I have seen!]
And now itās time for: Ashley Rants About One Piece ! Thereās vaguing/minor spoilers since Iām warning about some stuff, but Iām gonna be as vague as I possibly can !
Good stuff [Thereās a LOT so this is just notable things]:
- Found family is STRONG, main focus is more of finding a family you can love and protect and does the same back rather than romance for literally majority of the series. Adults taking in kids is also a huge theme and they canonly call them their kid/they're the parent. And once families are found and bonds are made, it is extremely impossible to break them again. From many events with the Straw Hats, to minor stories out of the main manga/anime with people like Law/The Heart Pirates, youāll see the absolute most worst things trying to break their bonds apart, but it does not happen. Because the people who made them love and care for each other too much for anything short of a mutual decision to break it will break it.Ā
Ā [I could go on about other ways found family is prominent in one piece, cause it's THAT huge but i'll stop here. But itās literally one of the main major themes!]
- The lore and story and world is one of the deepest and most engrossing I have ever seen. I used to watch and love Gravity Falls with my sister, and short of having actual ciphers in the show, One Piece is definitely similar in how much it makes you think. There are cameos and characters that pop up at the very start who are extremely important, and you donāt even know it until much further in episodes, by like, a lot. Itās extremely captivating, theories are everywhere for everything, not just what this grand treasure known as the āOne Pieceā is, but also on so many other little things. And if you think something doesnāt tie together into the story, or a character isnāt going to be very relevant, give it some time, you will be surprised.Ā
- Heroics. The Straw hats are very adamant in the fact they arenāt heroes, despite the thousands of people they have saved and helped in their adventures. I personally love heroes and stories about helping people, so itās a real attention grabber for me- They are literally just a rough and tumble group of kind people who will help anyone. And when I say anyone, I mean it. They have witnessed pirates they are trying to fight get mistreated by their captain, and their first thought is not to continue fighting said pirates- itās to attack the captain for treating those who should be family to them so badly. But literally, every where you turn there is a kind act, whether large or small, by one of the characters. Even side characters do it, itās just all very heartwarming.Ā
- Empowerment. The whole series is about following your dreams, no matter what it may be, and fighting for it. It can be something like finding a legendary ocean that everyone says doesn't exist, to even something minor. Itās about fighting for yourself and what you believe in and having the people who love you there to back you up, or finding people who will do so for you as you move to achieve your dreams.Ā
Bad stuff:
- There are a lot of heavy themes. We're dealing with pirates after all! Extremely sad backstories, especially Trafalgar Law's and Sanji's, kidnapping and destroying human trafficking rings/slavery, government corruption and grey areas- it could be a bit much if you're looking for something solely good times and goofy! I will say though, OP is very good at gags and goofs to balance out, and also inspirational moments that come from the bad- The Straw Hats may be pirates, but they're good people and will help anyone they can in danger even at their own risk.
- A few bad tropes. My fave, Sanji, is main victim to the 'pervert' trope, though at the starting half it's more hes a gentleman who likes ladies too much rather than actually weird for the most part. After a timeskip and dealing with a different bad trope, he's cranked up though so I mostly ignore it cause it REALLY doesnāt fit his character but I'm here to tell you the bad so!
The bad trope he had to deal with is what i can basically describe as trans gags. He ends up on an island full of drag queens/trans people who do nothing but make his life hell/assault him because 'hes not embracing his true self.'Ā
Its a much later arc, and only around for a few episodes really scattered here and there, but if thatās something you wouldn't like you could always skip the episodes and get a run down from me. Drag queens/Trans people are there again part of a different arc around the same time, but they're portrayed much kinder/chiller so it's less of a Deal than the Sanji one.
I will add though that in a recent arc, there is a main lady who we find out is trans, and from my perspective as someone who is trans, it was dealt with respectfully and nicely, much more so compared to the above, but no duh.Ā
- Racism: one of the main characters is victim to 'old media racist designs' and several background characters. The main problem besides that is their designs never got changed after the nineties, so Usopp- one of the Straw Hatās and an excellent main character- and recurring background characters can be very- yeah, design wise, and even new characters pop up with racist gags inserted. Also after the time skip a lot of characters get lightened to fit their manga colors, which is kinda concerning to say the least.
-
Now again, this is all off the top of my head, so there could be more good/bad stuff Iām not listing simply because I just woke up and yelled here, so forgive me! But another thing I wish to say is despite the bad, itās a really good show. Nothing has ever made me cry so hard as One Piece has [especially the Sanji arc Iām currently rewatching as it hits hard and close to home in a lot of ways], or feel so connected to or feel so Seen as One Piece. I relate extremely heavily to Luffy and Sanji especially, including some of the hardships and things they have gone through, so itās an extremely comforting and inspiring piece of work for me to watch, to the point words canāt really describe how attached I am to it unless I go off on a tangent.Ā
I hope this post was helpful to you though!Ā
#the bad stuff never stopped me from watching but i know it could for some people so i included it to be safe!#ask#anonymous#one piece#but when i say there is a LOT of good like#i mean it its frickin covered in so much good and so many emotional moments#i cant even begin to name them all

Why Tony Tony Chopper is my Least Favorite Straw Hat
I feel conflicted when I see people list characters from greatest to least favorite. Cut and dry lists in general - whether featuring power levels, most attractive, saddest backstory, etc - tend to elicit this reaction, because theyāre so subjective and I think if an author has done a good job then the audience shouldnāt be able to make the list at all.
Which wouldnāt stop people from trying, but still.Ā
Using One Piece as an example, there are certain characters that resonate with me personally, the chief of whom is Nico Robin. Iām a total sucker for the misunderstood badass bookworm - Raven from the original Teen Titans cartoon, Tris Chandler from Tamora Pierceās works, Roald Dahlās Matilda, and Thistle from Daughter of the Lilies are just a few examples of this in other media.
But apart from Best Girl Robin, my feelings about the cast of One Piece tends to vary depending on how you define āfavoriteā. I love Luffy as a main character, but would hate to meet him in real life. I appreciate Zoroās place in the crew, but find him boring and long wistfully for the days when he was allowed to be a goofball. Nami, Usopp, and Vivi grew on me over time, and if I could graph my feelings on Sanji over the course of the series it would look like I have ventricular tachycardiaĀ

And then thereās Chopper.Ā
Just as Iāve liked Robin since her first appearance, I have never liked Chopper. I know typing it is akin to blasphemy amongst the One Piece fandom, but I was left unmoved by his backstory, and heās never grown on me in the hundreds of chapters since then. The first thing I thought when I first saw his unused concept art wasĀ āwhat a wasted opportunityā.Ā
Ā A lot of this is subjective. I work in health care, so the quack doctor Hiliruk rubs me the wrong way on a purely professional level, which in turn makes it really hard for me to care when he dies. I dislike ChopperāsĀ āmascotā status and how itās affected his character design. I wish he would do more onscreen doctoring. I find his naivete annoying. I think his post-timeskip transformations look dumb. And so on and so forth, ad nauseum.
At the same time, Nami is never shown drawing maps and I regularly have her in my top 3-4 Straw Hats. Usopp and Luffy are just as stupid, but their antics donāt bother me half as much as Chopperās do. When I decided to sit down and write about Chopper, I had to figure out what made me less tolerant about him specifically when there are plenty of others who share his same flaws. This is what I came up with.
Want vs Need and Forgotten Development
In his book The Anatomy of Story,Ā John Truby describes the difference between a characterās want versus their need. While written with writing screenplays in mind, many of Trubyās techniques can be usedĀ regardless of medium. Itās an excellent tool for would-be writers, and I highly recommend it.
When looking at Chopper through the lens of want and need, itās pretty easy to see what Oda had in mind.

Chopper wants to become a doctor who can heal any illness, but he needs to reconcile his human and reindeer natures and see himself as a complete person.Ā Ironically, in doing so he willingly becomes the āmonsterā he was so afraid of.
Ā Since this transformation is for the sake of and with the support of his friends, itās coded as positive when before it was negative. Chopper is no longer isolated and lonely, but an accepted and important member of an infamous pirate crew. Compare the above to his fight on Fishman Island

So Chopper does have a complete character arc through the first half of the series, and itās a good one - simultaneously unique to him while bolstering the themes of One Pieces as a whole. Good job, Oda.
At the same time, I think thereās a secondary need thatās overlooked by the narrative, and by this point I doubt will be relevant to the story, and thatās the fact that Chopper needs to grow the fuck up.
To be fair, Chopper is only 15 at the start of the series, had spent the first years of his life as a reindeer and the rest isolated from the world for his own safety. It is understandable that heād be naive. Dr. Kureha points this out for herself when he first joins the Straw Hat Pirates

What sets Chopperās immaturity apart from, say, Luffyās is that it is presented as something that he needs to overcome. This is especially true during the Skyepiea arc.
Remember that early on in the arc Chopper is left alone to guard the Going Merry. Chopper fails, losing quite badly to the Priest with all the strings whose name I canāt remember. Even with Gan Fallās intervention it was plot armorĀ sheer luck that kept the both of them from being killed.Ā
This loss nicely sets up Chopperās battle with Gedatsu, which ended with Chopperās first solo victory of the series.Ā

Chopper screams to the heavens that heās aĀ ārealā pirate, which in context refers to reliable, brave, and strong. Note that this ties into his main need of self-actualization as the chapter before Chopper calls himself a monster just before hitting Gedatsu with his finisher.Ā
In doing so, Oda is effectively saying that Chopper needs to mature before he can become a complete character. In this way Chopper is like Usopp, whose desire to become a brave warrior the sea necessitates that he face his problems head on instead of run from them.
Later during the Davy Fight Back, Chopper is temporarily lost to the Foxy Pirates. He is understandably upset, but he goes overboard with his hysterics, causing Zoro to call him out.

Zoro in essence tells Chopper to man up. Now, masculinity as defined by One Piece is a pretty broad topic, and this isnāt the only time Chopper is told how to actĀ āmanlyā by other members of the Straw Hat crew, one of the best examples I can think of being Sanji telling Chopper thatĀ āa man doesnāt believe a womanās liesā when Robin tries to leave the crew.Ā In this instance, however, I thinkĀ ābeing a manā is interchangeable withĀ āacting like an adultā, specifically in the area of taking responsibility for oneās actions.Ā
So we have the problem of Chopperās naivete brought up by Kureha, the first steps of maturity seen during Skypiea, and the exposure that Chopper still has a long way to go during the Davy Fight Back. Thereās even a moment during Thriller Bark when he has to deal with the realization that one of his idols is an evil dirtbag of Spandam-like proportion - a loss of idealism that most go through as a normal part of growing up.
The development isnāt fast nor especially profound. Itās never the main focus of Chopperās arc because itās not his primary need, and in a gag-happy series like One Piece I think Chopperās childishness would always be the brunt of some sort of joke. But there is a sense of steadily marching forward toward a goal, and if things had kept trending in that direction I think it would have been enough to elevate Chopper from his dubious position as my least favorite Straw Hat.
But immediately after the timeskip we have this abomination of a scene

Words cannot express how much I hate this scene. Every other Straw Hat gets an awesome reintroduction. Nami and Usopp, who along with Chopper make up the so-calledĀ āweak trioā, even get to beat the crap out of some of the Fake Hat Pirates.Ā
Chopper mistakes creepy cucumber lady for Robin and runs away crying, undoing hundreds of chapters of development in one fell swoop. Itās stupid on so many levels I canāt even articulate enough to type them all out. The gag falls flat and makes it impossible for me to take him seriously going forward. I will admit that Iāve not done a lot of rereading of recent chapters to double check, but where Usopp and Luffy get plenty of moments post-timeskip to display a new-found maturity while maintaining their fun-loving nature, Chopper does not. Heās the same old Chopper.
I donāt have any way to confirm this, but I think part of this stagnation of character is due to Chopperās status of cute mascot. To disrupt this status quo is to lessen his marketability. There is a reason why Chopperās so damn cute when Oda originally wanted him to be kind of ugly. I mean, say what you want about Odaās use of realistic body proportions, but there was a time when Chopperās head wasnāt bigger than his torso.
Whether Iām right or not, I donāt think that it can be disputed that Chopper has gone through what I callĀ āforgotten character developmentā. Heās just as immature (and in some places more so) as he was early in the series, and personally I canāt stand that kind of character.Ā
And again this is a highly subjective thing, but I donāt even think heās that cute anymore. Itās a serious problem when your mascot ceases to be adorable and has no development to fall back on.
In the larger picture of One Piece, the loss of Chopperās secondary development is a small thing, but itās enough for me to not care about him at all. Sanji, for all his polarizing actions, at least makes me feel something. These days Chopper is just...there.Ā
I will admit that I might have let my initial distaste cloud my objectivity, so let me know what you think about Chopperās development, orĀ if thereās any other character that everyone else seems to like but you canāt stand. Iāll commiserate with the burden of having an unpopular opinion.
