Realized I never posted my Crossmare ship kid.

So here's Raiden :D I will put into for him under the cut if ayone is curious about him.

Head Canon voice: (Wanderer ((English)) from genshin impact) (Personality wise he's also quite similar to Wanderer too)

More info on his design:

He’s actually goop like Nightmare, it's just his goop is different colours. Has claws which they’re red like the marking on his face. When viewing his eye from the side the star pupil can be seen slightly above his eye. The skeletal things on his tentacles can be shot out/thrown as a sort of weapon can regenerate. The main necklace part is actually a gem. His legs have the same gradient that's on his face (the dark to light, doesn’t have red in the gradient on his legs)

Some info on family:

Raiden was raised primarily by Nightmare and Cross, but had the rest of the murder trio to look after him too. To him Killer is like an older brother, whereas Dust and Horror more so feel like uncles to him. Nightmare was the one to give him an education, as well as Raiden picking up a sharp tongue from him. Cross was the one to train him in combat in both physically fighting and being combat smart too. As well as dealing with Raiden’s emotional needs. (Both Nightmare and Cross may do the other’s role from time to time. E.g. Rai learning more dumb insults from Cross, or Nightmare providing a more logical emotional approach to a situation)

The way Nightmare and Cross raised Raiden is they both agreed to not push Raiden in a direction to be good or bad. Both of them would like Raiden to be a better person than them. But they know they can’t say much given how they are, especially now with how smart Raiden is, if they tried to push him to be good he’d probably use it against them. So they feel they made the right call with raising him.

Raiden was about before Dream/Nightmare made the truce, Nightmare kept Dream from knowing about Raiden, not wanting his enemy to know about his kid. But Nightmare never talked bad about Dream around Raiden, wanting Raiden to make his own opinions on Dream without his input. A year or two after the truce became a thing (around when Raiden was 14) Nightmare did tell Raiden if he wanted to go seek out his brother he could, but Raiden didn’t care too much to know him. Dream (and his group) only found out about Raiden recently.

Raiden doesn’t care too much about Dream or his group. Nor does he make much of an effort to get to know them. Finds them weird.

Who Raiden feels is his family: Nightmare: Dad (on rare occasions calls him Old Man) Cross: Pa / Pops Killer: (older brother figure) Dust: (Uncle figure) Horror: (Uncle figure) Error: (unsure but sees him as family) (will add more when I figure out more about Rai)

His magic/attacks/etc:

A lot of the magic he can preform have an ‘X’ theme to them. E.g. things like this (this being one of Arlecchino’s attacks in genshin, but I’m stealing its look for Raiden)

When his attacks aren’t ‘X’ themed they tend to look like lightning bolts (him living up to his name)

He can create a small (unseen) bubble around himself, when people enter this bubble they’re in an awake nightmare. Raiden being able to control the space within this bubble manipulating reality within this bubble as if it was a nightmare. Though this drains Raiden very quickly.

He also has blades he can summon. To most these blades appear to be shaped like lightning bolts, when in reality Raiden actually based it off of Cross’s scar. And at this point Raiden is too embarrassed to admit that to anyone.

He doesn’t fully understand how to express emotions or how to understand others emotions. He struggles a bit, he still does express emotions, it’s just they may be a bit random sometimes. E.g. he’s annoyed most of the time, or may find things funny in situations he shouldn’t. He is a good person, and does have manners. It’s just he’s selective on who he decides to offer his polite side too.

Him being somewhat monotone and having a sharp tongue means he tends to upset or anger people who don’t understand how he speaks. He also doesn’t like most people, is very picky with who he decides to get along with. So even if someone can understand him there's a chance that Raiden will just be disgusted with them for no reason. He very much struggles to hold his tongue, often speaking without thinking. Which sometimes lands him in trouble.

Finds it hard to comprehend how others think, especially if they have a drastically different view to him. Will basically have a crisis thinking about how others have thoughts that he doesn’t know. (Not main character syndrome, more so people exist and have their own thoughts and feelings that I can’t understand, and I don’t like that)

He very much adores his family, and as much as he tends to insult everyone (Nightmare is the only one in the group that can escape his insults), he will apologize if he does feel like he’s actually upset one of them.

He is very much a family person, preferring to stick to his family and people they get along with over making his own friends. Doesn’t mean he won’t make his own friends, it’s just easier for him to stick to people who can understand him or explain to others how to understand him.

Some info on the world/au:

In the world of this au both Nightmare’s and Dream’s group called a truce, Error and Ink also have their own separate truce between them. Basically for them not to cause any drastic positivity/negativity but both (Nightmare/Dream) allowed to step in if the balance of emotions in the multiverse gets out of whack.

The au follows more fanon interpretations of the groups, as well as my own head canons and such, I may or may not change lore as well for some characters.

despite what most people/players say, genshins story and world building sucks ASS. the seven main nations are there yes and they all represent one thing or mainly representing one thing but isnt it weird how mondstadt, liyue and inazuma are very traditional fantasy themed with the whole super specific technology only the fantasy world has, the usual fantasy weapons, powers etc but then sumeru and natlan and BOOM! internet, dj, clubbing and all those advanced things are shown? isnt fontaine supposed to be the only technologically advanced nation out of the seven? dont even get me started on the whitewashing of sumeru and natlan characters/cast and the extremely racist undertones of the origin of hilichurls

edit: i was too angry when typing the first part that i forgot the main reason i wanted to ramble-

2) the traveler.

in the game/story/characters’ voicelines, the traveler is constantly alluded to be a witness to the change/shift of teyvat and its rebellion against the heavenly orders/celestia. even zhongli said it during his companion quest (i believe). okay cool, got it, the traveler is a witness— ay ay ay, why is there a backstory thing going on? wdym the traveler is meant to be a self-insert type of mc? you cant make a character a self-insert with a lore/backstory thing going on. you cant make a character a self-insert if they have a rich lore going on. make it clear already, is the traveler a self-insert AKA. stand in for us, the player? or are they meant to be their own character with story instead?

3) immortality/mortality

i dont know what it says on the chinese language dictionary but im pretty sure 500 year old survivor of kheanri’ah doesnt exactly translate to mortal, human, or hell, normal. idk man, i suck at math, but i think being cursed with immortality and living until ur 500 or smt years old makes you an immortal/inhuman

4) fatui harbingers

the MAIN reason i wanted to ramble in anger. from their very first introduction with la signora in mondstadt, you can already just feel that the fatui are a force that is feared all across the seven nations as both a diplomatic and military force. theyre elusive, sneaky, will not hesitate to get their hands dirty and their so called ‘diplomats’ (the harbingers) can and will step over the diplomatic boundaries to not only insult, but assault the archon of mondstadt. theyre a threat threat but now theyre just another laughing stock. if anything, they feel like a fucking circus.

at the introduction video of all the harbingers and the last act of sumeru archon quest, we are given the lore bomb that the first three fatui harbingers have a power to rival the GODS and had been quietly eluded that capitano had even defeated a god or two despite being a mere mortal. and that is terrifying, that is fear inducing. just the thought of a mere mortal like ourselves going tow to toe against gods is a terrifying thought itself and arlecchino has proven herself and set the bar even higher when she made an absolute fool out of the traveler during the fontaine archon quest. the next nation will have capitano, the strongest mortal, the first fatui harbinger, the man that could rival the gods and now ur telling us that he is not in fact a mortal man but yet another 500 year old khaenri’ah survivor? we get it hoyo, u love the number 500, but that makes him NOT a mere mortal doesnt it? and he basically got his ass handed to himself too. i am immensely disappointed

see the issue comes when you realize, you as a player, don't have a "character" that's all your own

there's aether/lumine yeah.. but bc the game's real now, they're their own people, and you didn't wake up to find yourself as a blonde twin...

the closest you can describe your form as is .. like a seelie?

or like the way ghosts look in game?

but a lot more "starry"

like your specterlike, but you look like you got filled up with stars and the milky way, maybe a reference of you being from another universe/world? (aether/lumine/dainsleif/khaenriah star symbol reference secret thEORY-)

you gotta admit, at least you look really aesthetic now.

by far, the fungi and ruin machines are the best to possess, mostly because you can remain upright with those

(tho u did find some type of flying monkey that wasnt in game, but its like,, a real world and jungle now so that makes sense there'd be more complexity + stuff)

you do eventually think you should try and possess a person at this point... but ur kinda nervous 👉👈

its ur first time doin this okay nobody explained the basics to you youve been winging for a week now!

will your mind be replaced with theirs? it hasn't been so far with the creatures/bots

and as far as you can tell, they kinda just-

forget what happened or "wake up" after you possess them

(the tiger you were for a day looked confused as hell when it realized that there was a new pile of fruit next to it when it "woke up", it was your way of saying thank you to the animals of the jungle, u left them little piles of food you collected running around as them)

so THEORHETICALLY-

you should be good to go and possess a random poor eremite

... you figure you want to possess something human-like eventually even if you get a puppet body like wanderer/raiden so...

here goes nothing...

so it's been 2 weeks since you've been forcefully yanked into teyvat, and by the second week, you were trying to possess eremites

which! worked out!

mostly..!

you kinda convinced the entirety of two eremite camps that a certain part one of sumeru's forests is hella haunted bc ppl keep "blacking out" and doing things they don't remember doing, yknow... like possesssion LMAO

they kinda ran off to escape you but, hey!

experiment #2: people possession, success!!

now you were kinda convinced of this when you realized no matter the angle the animals and machines of sumeru didnt react to you getting super close to them (you dont have to touch something to posses it, just look at it really, but you wanted to test limits, so you walked up to sumpter beasts and fungi and ruin machines)

but no one can see you.

you don't have a "character" most of the time, you can float and glide around the ground like scaramouche lol

you cant touch stuff bc of this, you cant smell stuff (u saw the eremites campfires & couldnt smell the smoke until you were them)

you cant eat stuff w/o a body, so.. it makes sense that the eremites and passing merchants, cant see you when you float around, trying to reorient yourself after 2 weeks of experimenting

:( ur only a lil sad about it... but mostly not bc lol u got possession powers so trade off u guess

the first time you see a vision-bearer you literally scream

bc Collei would have def screamed back lol

needless to say u stalk the forest ranger- ALL DAY.

Collei goes on patrol around the woods? you go on a patrol.

collei goes to visit other forest rangers? you "visit" other forest rangers at base (lol u def possess a guy who was asleep on a bench nearby & wake up to go talk to Collei "in-person", poor guy was so worried he sleep walked/talked so hard he went to see Tighnari an hour later lmao)

welp, you decide this is your life now, follow Collei everywhere, talk one-sided to Collei until you can possess a forest ranger w/o it being suspicious (dont wanna turn the poor rangers into the terrified eremites from a week or two ago...)

then, after you get the courage and erase the paranoia that tighnari can just... somehow hear your ghostly bullshit-

u do the same to Tighnari (then Cyno when he visits! no u didnt squeal, so what, nobody can hear you- )

Tighnari begins to get suspicious about 3 weeks into this routine.

he's been starting to collect and start a file on all the rangers or nearby villagers that've started randomly "blacking out/sleep walking" in the evenings usually

(u possess as close to nighttime as u can so it seems like sleepwalking)

So when Cyno comes back from a mission gone wrong,

having nearly been decapitated by a rogue flying ruin machine, only to black out and come to standing calmly 10 feet further than he remembered being 1 minute ago...

Tighnari's suspicions are confirmed, and he launches into researching this phenomenon.

his first thought is something like the aranara, but that doesn't account for the effect this thing is having on people

after all, what little forest spirit is strong enough to-

-control humans??

Tighnari begins to get the sense he's in over his head after he finds himself pushed into going into Sumeru City in order to collect more library books or ask around if the blackouts have spread to the city people

he answer is negative, on both accounts.

and he spends about one half of the day walking around, and the other reading up all he can on mythical creatures or ailments

Tighnari gives up for the day, and as he makes his way back to Ghandarvaville, he almost gets ambushed by some particularly nasty muggers

...and then he wakes up 20 feet away, his denro vision thrumming with power, full of worry and fondness for himself??, (just like Cyno said he felt happen to him..)

...Tighnari decides he needs reinforcements.

“Then Reader can use them?”

“No! We already agreed on how you’re allowed to play with them, and now you’re trying to push your luck."

If you are a avid player you may be able to spot the different voice-lines I wrote along the piece, I did quite a lot, quite proud how I managed to integrate them to the One piece context 🫦

Honestly, lately I like Reverse 1999 story better then HSR. I still like HSR, but I'm so tired of the sus characters turning up to be misunderstood. The previous quest (that I watch playtrough, since I don't have time to play), is kind of mid to me. Yet, with Reverse 1999 I felt like I was riding on the wild roller coaster.

Not only that but Reverse 1999 characters designs are way more creative, and doesn't feel copy and paste. And unlike *cough* Genshin *cough* Bluepoch does respects characters culture by giving them the skin colour that represents their nationality.

Of course this my personal opinion. Which storytelling do you prefer?

Uhuhuhu my lord! You have awaken and internally debate inside of me! I been thinking about this almost all day! And this post is goint to be loooong so be ready

Okay so, I can't choose between Reverse 1999 and Honkai Star Rail, I love both way too much and I feel like both does go in diferent ways

I think that one of the biggest diferences between the storytelling is that hoyoverse in general is incredibly good at creating interesting and captivating stories but doesn't really have idea of how to tell them, wich lead then to sin of pretentious and profound while in Reverse 1999 takes time to tell you the story, it introduces you and immerses you in its world in a pretty natural way and treats you like Vertin herself, letting you know the important things as the story goes on (with some exceptions just to make the suspense grow)

I feel like the story of r1999 is much more mature and goes for a more solid rute, like it really focus on the world and conflicts have created and everything goes around that same conflict, one way or another (you can even see it in the chapter of Vertin's past, everything has to be with the storm! Even the debate about Vertin's actions is indirectly related to the storm), except for the stories of the events, those stories can be quite slow at times since but still always has something to contribute to the lore

Also, one of the biggest diferences that i personally see is that Bluepoch thinks a lot on the player and tries to make the experience as enjoyable as posible while Hoyoverse things more on money rather than the player

I absolutely love HSR story, I played the penacony story as it was being released and I was on the edge to know what was going to happen but I do admit that the whole story was a "I do can tell you the details, but I dont want 😼", there was so much interesting characters that were just a waste, it feels like everything it's halfway through because they tries to be misterious and the conclusion is quite rushed and somewhat poorly done, but aside from that the rest of the story is pretty decent

Also, one of the biggest diferences is the text, I think HSR doesn't have an awful amount of text as Genshin but still there are things that just they are left over at times. I think Reverse 1999 gives npc a better treatment than HSR and specially Genshin, in r1999 the npcs mainly purpose is to naturaly tell you about the place you are, to teach you in what context you are and let you get inmerse in the story and makes it pretty well! It feels quite natural and it doesn't become tiring with an awful amount of inecesary text (like in Genshin), besides the story doesn't treat you like an idiot and explain something over and over again

Also, the desings I also things are incredibly creative but r1999 has the advantage of being of diferent historical periods and the same story tells you that arcanist aren't always human so that open a good oportunity to get creative! Still, I think Bluepoch is incredibly creative

Im not going to talk about Genshin natlan characters, I still think that Genshin developers worry more about money than the player so if making white characters is what make then win more good for them I guess 🤷🏻

While HSR characters are an interesting case, they either come up with incredibly interesting and unique desing or go back to the woman with the outfit with the chinese like base desing

So it starts with an game

You can vc and shit this game too and it was very very popular. You could choose whether to be a normie or an outcast, there were several jobs that one can take and quests with challenges.

Overall a really fun game bc you can either play with friends and build a land with them or play solo and try to complete everything

Think of uh, genshin! But you can customize and level up your character + it being constantly multi-player unless you go to your own private land that you can buy or get from quests

you can also unlock elusive powers as an outcast if you complete certain quests as well.

It was called, Jericho Online bc I can't think of a better name rn 😅

So it starts with Pugsley who starts badgering to thirteen year old Wednesday to join him in playing the game

Wednesday joins begrudingly, tired of all his incessant whining and also because the words of player killing caught her attention

Enid, whos been playing with pugsley is interested immedietely when the two log in. Going !? And circling the newcomer

Wednesday immedietely plays chase and that's the start of a new friendship, with Enid going !?!!!! And Wednesday pulling out her starter knife bc she's supposed to kill this monster

Enid's character is obviously a werewolf, one of the most famous race type in Jericho but there's a catch

Due to high demand, the devs has given a roll of chance to anyone who plays this race. Bc of this you could be an alpha, beta or cursed

Alpha's usually have a better chance to land a critical hit (aka better crit rate in their base form)

Beta is normal, your stats don't change.

Cursed are left unable to shift, which is an ability that all werewolves have where their crit dmg and crit rate is multiplied by two during full moons (which actually follows the irl moon cycle and there are usually combat events/bosses around then who drop really good loot)

This ability is really really good when you have the right artifacts and is part of the reason why so much people choose werewolves

Enid unfortunately, is a cursed and so she sulks with her amazing artifacts with the knowledge that it could be better if she just shifts

Continuing! Wednesday chose to be a psychic and ends up with the sub ability to summon ink creatures at her will. Aka be a beast tamer of some sort

The catch is, she has to kill the creature and subdue it first before she can acquire them into her slots. She is only allowed five creatures in battle so she has to choose carefully aswell

Being a beast tamer is pretty fun but it's lowkey like playing Pokémon so not alot of people liked to use it

Anyways abilities over

Wenclair plus pugsley go have fun, they start raiding dungeons, doing quests together until pugsley drops out from uninterest like a few months in

Enid understands, Wednesday doesn't care and so Wenclair continue their journey of beating absolute ass in this game because wednesday is competitive and Enid is happy to be there

They grind for the absolute best of artifacts and spend so much time on better weapons, it's almost like they're addicted

And honestly? Wednesday was having fun. There was a joy in being able to calculate how well you can do if you wear this goblet that raises your elemental dmg or if you lvl up this skill to a certain lvl you can beat absolutely everyone

(and maybe, planting lil carrots infront of Enid's house isnt so bad)

Enid while competitive, was having fun decorating her lil land far from Jericho. It was like a lil hobbit hole, with greens and vines and dim lighting because wednesday can never stand the bright lights that were originally hung up and vehemently refused to visit if they were there

"you're like a vampire!" Enid says in the in game comm

Wednesday tsks "a vampire who isn't afraid to pk you, Sinclair."

"you're so mean Willa," sinclair, Enid's username, whines.

Willa, Wednesday's own in game username, just hurls her dagger at the sulking blond.

"Wha- HEY!"

Interesting, so it seems that in the second year anniversary of Jericho (when Wenclair are fourteen) the devs decided to have a lil romance for the lonely people and give the ability to marry

I finished the 2.3 story for HSR. Spoilers/thoughts below. Along with some ranting because Im letting my thoughts run freely.

Extremely mid. Like I wasnt expecting action but this was just boring.

I still want to go to the Edo Star or whatever the place that was under attack by the Antimatter Legion was called in Order's Dream.

The secret planet of the Garden of Recollection is our next destination? Obviously gonna be some M7 story probably.

Will we hear the voice of the Stellaron again? I still miss that aspect of our character. Like can something happen with the Stellaron in our body again?

Its a secret planet that not even Akivili or the rest of the universe knows about, so any threat there kinda has to be internal, or, since its the remembrance thingy, its gonna be in the past.

Im... Im not really excited about that?

Can we get something actually tense again?

I miss Jarilo. I want to see Fragmentums again. I want the Stellaron in our body to matter again. I want to see the Antimatter Legion actually be a threat and destroy literally anything. I want this game to throw any curveball at us to make it interesting again.

Either that or for Hoyo to just stop trying to write half assed "tense" scenes.

Genshin has a scene literally just for us players because they refuse to develop the Traveler's character but still want to please the players of having Lumine and Aether meet and talk about wtf is going on. Star Rail has extremely little tension because everything always goes our way and the things that dont have such little impact that they are just skipped over. I still havent played past the opening of HI3 part 2. Are they developing the characters or are they introducing a bunch of new ones instead?

WuWa completely nuked its own apocalyptic tone by not showing any dark moments which creates a massive disconnect between presentation and the intended world and story. It genuinely does not feel apocalyptic or if this is a world in a dire fight for survival, but that is what the story is trying to tell but they nuked the presentation without overhauling the world and thus completely fucked their game's tone.

PGR is pretty good still but new chapters feels like they take forever to come out.

I made a mistake on going to the wuwa reddit page and many people are dickriding the cbt1 story and are blaming CN players for being too "soft" when they actually had valid criticism.

Don't get me wrong I wished there were some things that they kept from cbt1 such as the crownless battle but the cbt1 story made me want to avoid it like a plague. And this is not me saying the new story is better (bc you can tell it's really rushed as the result of the 6 month rework). There are many issues that I didn't like and wished they could expand more but as of right now we can only wait until Kuro games resolved the issues

to be honest when i first played wuthering waves, i was one of the many disappointed players.

my reasons were simple, bad graphics, storyline and mechanics seemed overly like genshin (the waking up and you suddenly have a friend(s) waiting for you, wishing, leveling up, daily tasks) and nothing huge was really going on between me and understanding the story.

but what really made me continue to play was how fun the gameplay was, and how f2p friendly the game is (they spoil us a lot and im very happy about it) and tbh, i dont feel like im doing a chore when i play the game, i genuinely enjoy it a lot.

my only criticism was the graphics (since it still hasn't gotten better for me from the first release until now) and my understanding of the story. i dont understand who Rover is and what is their main purpose.

for the character's being rude to the Rover in cbt1, im actually super surprised cause i never heard of this version of WUWA until now, but im at a 50/50 opinion.

part of me really loves the idea of every character being wary of the Rover cause it gives a sense of realism to the character's personality, i like the idea that from the beginning, people were afraid or didnt like you but through your hardwork you slowly gained their trust, its a super cute idea and im a bit sad that it was gone.

what i do admit is the story with Awu, where he steals our kill and doesn't even thank us or anything, maybe it got a bit too much since the game IS supposed to make the story likeable for players, that way they can enjoy the game more, if the characters are lovable then so will the players be.

overall, ik a lot of people have been saying this but i have to agree with them when i say that WUWA has only been around for a month (?) now, and im sure Kuro Games is doing their best to fix these issues and provide a proper experience for their players, i dont sense the company wanting to rip off its players or neglect them like how Hoyoverse did with genshin, so i dont feel like ive lost a lot.

ive been trying to get into wuthering waves because it seems interesting (and i had the space because of a genshin-shaped hole that was deleted from existence because i didnt have enough to keep feeding it)

like. okay yeah the audio is laggy, its delayed, sometimes its entirely nonexistent

but. my one problem is that the text doesnt scroll down to the end. like you can tell that they're still talking but the dialogue box just cuts it off (theres no log box as far as i can see) so if you cant hear what they say. then. sure hope it isnt something important.

also another thing to note. you know that beginning cutscene and you end up in the water but upside down? (i watched someone play the first bit so it gave me some leeway to skip through parts id already seen while trying to figure out how to un-lag it. which i didnt figure out)

it just. didnt appear. at all. i think it was because it was loading for so long cause at one point i heard my character do like an idle line?? and then later it went to the other characters finding us

(this is in no way me being like 'aHH wUWA SUCKS' because i get that its still kind of in its beginning stages so theres a lot of bugs to work out. if anything, im really interested by it. i like the colors, i like the characters, i like playing them, and i want to see where the story goes.)

it'll probably get fixed and all sorts of quality of life updates (or whatever its called when there are updates for player convenience) in the future, just something thats kind of frustrating i wanted to note thats probably in no way a new issue (the reddit has a bunch of posts about the lag ngl)

I also played a bit with labels ig but I read this fic where Mammon said there was no need "to be anything" as long as we were in peace with each other and I felt that on a spiritual lvl so instead of overthinking how to label f/os sometimes I just put him as unlabeled lol I just love self inserting in his world being really close to him and he's my fav character of the game and all but ig it becomes hard sometimes to try to fit that into something so I said whatever, it's my little self insert world and they can do whatever they want that brings me comfort XD yknow, sometimes partnering concepts just feel off but at the same time I enjoy saying I am a Mammon simp cause I love the character so it's a bit of a mess in my brain sometimes, trying to make both my experience as a player and my s/i's fit for my best comfort

I dont know if this makes sense worded like this but it seems to work out in my head XD I still plan to someday develop my s/i's story a lot so who knows

i've only played up to chapter five! but so far the game is about you, a hunter, defeating wanderers (the monsters) in the game! but there's a mystery surrounding you and an event that happens in chapter four which affects you pretty badly (imo). i wish i could say more but i'm pretty focused on leveling up my cards and enhancing these things for my cards bc i love dealing a lot of dmg (im a genshin/hsr player... what did we expect from me 😭) HHAHSJA but that's the main story of the game !!

there are three male leads/love interests!! all three have different backgrounds and stories (?) which you can explore apart from the main story !! but in order to unlock some of their stories, you have to get their cards (and be a certain level AND have a certain affection level with the love interest HELP) ! mm, if you've played tears of themis before, then the game will be easy since l&d is similar to tot! ^-^ i also saw that the developers will be adding a new love interest soon !

the gaming is very nice ! i think it's easy to level up as long as you finish your daily and weekly activities! leveling up your cards can be a bit of a hassle since you have to defeat the corresponding battle enemies to get the materials to level them up and ascend (the cards have a level cap and when you reach it, for example lvl 10 or 20, etc. you have to ascend them) HAHSHAH i hope explained everything well 😭🙌🏼

been a bit of me watching general world news stuff and feeling deep existential exhaustion but it has also been a bit since ive rambled about genshin game quest stuff so im going to do that real quick

with the parade of providence quest i am a bit sad that these elements won't be made as kaveh's character quest, but it was fun seeing faruzan and layla etc all get to play to their strengths. but, this is one of those events that is written assuming players have done all of the side quests and character hangouts so things like faruzan's situation and layla's alter being very familiar with the traveler can feel abrupt.

i enjoyed both faruzan and layla's quests, but with how new they are it feels odd to treat them as like. common knowledge? layla's in particular since her "sleepwalking" alter is a whole mystery you unravel.

i did enjoy the background bit of wanderer just. drinking coffee while everyone went at it for the contest. also the bit where he just showed up like a goddamn typhoon and beat the hell out of people for causing trouble with zero proclamation or explanation as to 1) who he is 2) why he was beating them up. even when working for nahida he's got a mean streak.

kaveh having a fairly normal but still tragic backstory combined with his very emotional and caring nature was neat to see play out, his unintentional self-sabotaging choices because he wants to do good by others even if it means he loses out. i also like how they express kaveh and alhaithem's dysfunction and poor communication. when alhaithem is trying to genuinely congratulate kaveh for doing the right thing, kaveh is so used to alhaithem talking down to him that he assumes alhaithem is being condescending and tells him he doesn't want to hear it. the schism between them is going to be difficult for alhaithem to mend, kaveh went into the competition ready and desperate to move out because he believes alhaithem will kick him to the curb.

even if alhaithem only shuts kaveh down because he's worried about his altruism getting further out of hand, he's so bad at expressing it in a way that kaveh will actually accept that it only pushes him to frustrated outbursts. kaveh even has a profile dialogue that's to the effect of, "alhaithem knows how to be polite to people, he just chooses not to be." for someone who is such a stickler about linguistics and information, alhaithem keeps making things harder than they need to be.

speaking of altruism: baizhu's story quest! i really liked it. i appreciate how his character retains some darker angles while emphasizing that he is a doctor because he genuinely wants to help people. changsheng only made a deal with him because he is "pure of heart" but that doesn't mean he won't use methods others find scary or unsettling to accomplish his goals. poisons can be medicine depending on what you need to do.

having xiao present, secretly following to ensure the traveler's safety in case the doctor awakens something he shouldn't, and showing hu tao heavily disagreeing with baizhu gets the point across pretty well that, even if baizhu has good intentions, the path he walks is one that seeks to defy the natural laws of death.

even if baizhu does one day succeed in being immortal, achieves his dream of being able to take all ills of the world upon himself, we know from other immortals in teyvat that that immortality can itself be dangerous. baizhu would still be subject to erosion or the corrosive rot of all the illnesses he takes upon himself through changsheng. there's no guarantee that he'd be able to withstand it forever, xiao himself is wracked with karmic debt from trying to contain the miasma that plagued liyue and we see that having a toll on his mind and body.

but, baizhu wants to do this regardless, buy people the time they need to live their lives even though this is already destroying his own body. him referencing how he'll "seek the guidance of the moon", while poetic, carries a worrisome undertone. there is an old legend about how a rabbit on the moon with a mortar and pestle would craft the elixir of immortality for the gods, but in teyvat imagery of the moon is regularly associated with the abyss and destruction...
