Good morning and I just did some rereading ya know (coz I'm clearly insane) and I can't deal with how fucking stupid it is for the Suriel to say in ACOWAR he meant Rhys when he said “Stay with the High Lord.” I’m sure y’all had this discussion long before but it’s new to me and hey, I’m allowed to be mad on my blog right?
Like in ACOTAR, first of all, the Suriel specifically starts talking about “the High Lord” saying “I know a good many things about the High Lord of the Spring Court.”
And the quote then goes:
“Stay with the High Lord, human … He will shield you from it, so stay close to him, and all will be righted.”
Okay sure maybe the Suriel was giving her a riddle of which High Lord, right? WRONG. Because the next quote goes:
“The High Lord does not know that you came here today, does he?”
Now why on earth would that be Rhysand? This line is fucking Tamlin because he’s the only Feyre didn’t tell, so what is going on with this stupid Suriel? Does it know everything except English grammar? If you are referring to two people you are supposed to fucking specify? But noooo. We are supposed to be fucking awed that GASP what wat a plot twist, it meant Rhysand all along.
UM NO. Because there’s more:
“Run for the High Lord’s manor. Do not forget what I told you—stay with the High Lord, and live to see everything righted … Free me and return to the High Lord’s side.”
So uh, if this is Rhysand so is she supposed to run all the way to the night court, hm? And why would she RETURN to Rhysand? She’s not even met him yet!!
Like literally fuck Sarah because what the fuck. Why retcon things which cannot be retconned? Like she can literally have made this as Feyre could have been safe with Tamlin but she left him so she wasn’t safe but she was free? Or something? Anything? Or like, never bring this up again like. Guys I’m so fucking furious right now. I can’t. I just fucking can’t.

@acourtdelaluna and I were discussing how Az's heroics to Elain in this scene are given more credit than is deserved in terms of him having feelings for her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, the characters are standing talking about how only Feyre, Amren and Nesta can hear / feel the Cauldron’s song because they're made. Rhys and Varian confess to hearing nothing.
Even Az admits that he can't hear it but that his shadows recoil.
It's only after the characters have been standing around and after both Amren and Varian refer to "the three of them" (meaning Feyre, Amren and Nesta) that Az asks "What about Elain?" The conversation is about how only made fae heard the Cauldron which leads to Az wondering if Elain could hear it too.
But he doesn't seem worried, like she might have been taken, he's just standing there.
If Az were concerned that something happened to Elain then why was it Nesta that stared at him then raced to Elain's tent? Why was Feyre right on her heels with Rhys immediately checking other tents?
If Az was worried about Elain in the way a lover would once he saw that she was missing, why was it Cassian barking orders?
For someone that's supposed to have feelings for Elain, he seems to be doing jackshit about her disappearance at this point aside from saying with no emotion noted "they're still warm" in reference to her blankets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the next scene we again have nearly everyone but Az springing into action. We have Nesta visibly upset. We have Cassian telling her they'll get her back. We have Rhys, Amren, and Mor meeting with the other High Lords trying to see if anything can be done.
And it's only after Nesta unknowingly lays down a challenge that Azriel acts.
"And there is no chance of any of you getting into its heart".
Telling someone who in canon is extremely competitive and likes to play hero that he's got no chance of doing something is like a red flag for a bull and there are many examples of this:
I wondered if the shadowsinger was usually the first to throw himself into danger.
“Get her out, Azriel,” I begged him, panting. “I’ll get the other.” “We’re all—” “That’s an order.” / Azriel was already there, no more than a few heartbeats having passed— Azriel gripped me by the collar, and a web of blue light fastened itself at my shoulder. Holding the blood in, a bandage until a healer— (Az ignoring Feyre's order to get Elain out).
“I’m going in,” Azriel said. “No,” Rhys snapped. But Azriel was spreading his wings, the sunlight so stark on the new, slashing scars down the membrane. “Chain me to a tree, Rhys,” Azriel said softly. “Go ahead.” He began checking the buckles on his weapons. “I’ll rip it out of the ground and fly with it on my damned back.”
Also, that whole scene in Silver Flames where Az argues against Feyre's orders, saying his shadows can keep him hidden well enough (probably his exact thinking of why he was convinced he'd be fine in Hyberns camp. He wasn't willing to die for Elain in ACOWAR because he cared for her, he was convinced he was the only one capable of surviving because of his shadows. Cockiness and needing to play the hero does not equal love).
It's only after Nesta proclaims it's not possible for anyone to save Elain that Az has his unspoken debate and says he'll do it.
If it was really about saving Elain because of feelings for her, he would have been the first to volunteer (not Cassian). He would have been the first asking what needed done and making plans (not Rhys, Mor and Amren).
And for anyone claiming that Elain's mate wasn't concerned about her disappearance, I think it's time to go back and reread ACOWAR.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucien took Elain's vision seriously enough that he set off by himself to try to find an army, one that he helped lead to the site of battle. An army that came just as the IC was preparing their final goodbyes.
Lucien was not in Prythian when Elain was taken, he was out to sea. But the second he was able, this is how SJM wrote him making his way to his mate:
Tumblr media
He was exhausted, covered in the blood of the enemy as he fought alongside the rest yet is assumed to have run all the way from the shore just to make sure Elain was safe.
Every single thing Lucien does when it comes to Elain is about Elain. Not so he can play the hero. Not so he can prove he's worth something to the others or prove something to himself. He does it because she is the most important thing to him.

Eris lineage
So I’m writing something right now and I’m rereading parts of ACOWAR to get the direct quotes and shit and I’m at the part where they visit Keir and Eris visits the Hewn City. What are the chances that Eris isn’t Berons son?
Feyre says he hunted her down like an animal and this is how Eris responds:
Eris’s pale face flushed. “I was given an order. And sent to do it with two of my … brothers.”
“And what of the brother you hunted down alongside me? The one whose lover you helped to execute before his eyes?”
He hesitates when he says brothers. We can infer that he doesn’t really care for them with how he acts but this also helps that statement. He seems to hesitate to call them his brothers which could be a way to distance himself from them and how cruel they are.
But we can also see he cares for Lucien more because Eris likely knows that he has no chance at the Autumn throne with being Helions son because he gets him out of the Autumn court
He even tells Feyre she knows nothing, emphasizing on the nothing too, about that day and then he tells her he’s the one that tipped Tamlin off about him being near the border.
Like I know it’s unlikely cuz Eris is very obviously next in line but we also know the succession can change with families by us know Mor’s family used to run the Night court and somewhere down the line Rhys’ family became the more powerful line.
But we also know that Lady Autumn has had an affair once, what’s to say that Helions the only one slept with. She obviously has the capability to weld fire based on Lucien (which bitch got lucky there damn) but that could also be why she wasn’t afraid at having Lucien. She knows that he’ll have fire abilities because it’s already happened once before with Eris. That’s why she had no real fear about sleeping with Helion.
Who’s to say she didn’t sleep with a sibling or cousin of Beron who could’ve become High Lord if Beron died without an heir. That could still make Eris powerful enough for line of succession to recognize him as next ruler.

Thank you Nike! I just finished Assassin’s Blade and moving on to TOG. I haven’t read this in years. I’m catching things that I haven’t noticed before. After Assassin’s Blade.. I noticed something that is important to SJM- loyalty.
*Calaena keeps bringing up that Sam has switched loyalty to her. He chosen her over the king of assassin. He stood up for her.
*Chaol didn’t- his loyalty was to the king and Dorian.
*Calaena didn’t choose Dorian because he didn’t stand up for her when she was “down” while fighting with Cain. That was the last straw, there were other reasons. Chaol was the one that told her to get up. Dorian apologized over and over that he was sorry he didn’t stop Cain.
*Rowan- you know, he is utterly loyal to her.
ACOTAR-
Feyre x:
*Tamlin- his loyal was to himself.
*Rhysand- clearly ALL for her.
*Nesta and Cassian- He is loyal to Nesta, but I can see that can be questionable. I will have to reread this. It’s been a while. But what do you think?
*Azriel- over and over again, he has proven his loyalty to Elain. She already sees Lucien as a betrayal. That’s beyond over.
CC-
*I don’t like Bryce. She did asked Hunt to put all in for her. That was after he was being tortured. She wants him 100% with her through whatever she demands. So, he did and that’s loyal.
Gwyn’s loyalty is still in question. Lucien is not to be trusted.
I think if anyone read all her series- they should see that Gwyn and Lucien is obviously not it. Lucien is loyal to Vassa i think, right?
Isnt it interesting how you find things when you re-read books and have more info now? It's fascinating.
As it pertains to Lucien, there is of course a huge question mark about where his loyalties actually lie.
In ACOWAR, Rhys tells Feyre that 'Lucien is fiercely loyal' and that it's one of his better qualities.
In ACOFAS we learn that Azriel doesn't watch Lucien.
Then we learn about BoE.
And in ACOSF, we have Mor saying that Lucien cannot be trusted because his loyalties have shifted and Elain is no longer an anchor that keeps him tethered to NC.
The question about Lucien is always--who IS he loyal to? Except for himself? It is just based on whichever way the wind blows?
I was talking to a mutual of mine just yesterday and I think the biggest question about Lucien is what does he want? What does he want to be? What's his ambition? Just survival? What happens when his survival is assured? I think there is a huge question mark about Lucien's whole personality and reason for existence (as a character).
What I think will ultimately happen is that Lucien will become a King Consort to Vassa (who'll become immortal somehow, or will tie her life to his) and he'll be the middle man between Fae and humans. I think that will be his 'purpose'.
As for Gwyn, I have no idea what the hell is going on with her. I truthfully do not. I don't even know where to begin speculating. She is too 'open door' to determine anything concrete about her background or storyline.
I do think that we have a bunch of people in ACOTAR whose loyalty is sus.
Amren
Mor
Lucien
Vassa
JURIAN!
Possibly Azriel
Eris
They can ALL go rogue.

Why keep an open mind about Elain
(And why her book will slap hard)
When I was writing this one-shot right here, I read a few posts about Elain as a spy, some of them liked the idea, others didn't. Which is totally ok, if you don't, of course. I also reread a lot of scenes from the books to understand better how this could play out.
But I came across some comments about how Elain being a spy would make her "lose her characterization" or be "out of character". So I wanted to talk a little about it. This post will be discussing those comments specifically and why you should keep an open mind about Elain.
NOTE: As usual, sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language. I really hope I made myself clear. If you have any comments, I would love to hear them. Be kind!
1. Elain as a character
The first reason I don't believe that argument is because ACOSF made it clear that we know very little about Elain. So how can we say it would be something out of character for her when we barely know her as a character?
So far, we only have other characters points of view on Elain: a person who has a sweet temper. But ACOSF came to tell us that there is another side of her. Nesta expected Elain to cry because of Graysen. She didn't. Elain didn't back down from her fight with Nesta, she didn't hesitate when it came to the Trove or the Hewn City, she laughed when Nesta told her to fuck off. In every single of those moment, Elain's behavior is emphasized by one reaction of the others: surprise.
"You think I’m to blame for his death?” Challenge filled each word. Challenge—from Elain, of all people.
"Elain showed some teeth," I observed. "I wasn't expecting that."
And this is nothing new. Look at what we have in ACOFAS:
and Elain—Elain—had taken up Azriel’s dagger and killed the King of Hybern instead.
The last two books highlight that 1) we don't know everything about her and 2) we expect one behavior from her.
But most importantly: she often doesn't correspond to what it is expected of her, especially in ACOSF.
And then we have this:
With time and safety, perhaps we'll see a different side of her emerge.
But I also think we haven't yet seen all she has to offer.
And before this makes someone think Elain will not get a book because we don't have much on her character, this is exactly what books are for. To develop a character. Before ACOSF, Nesta didn't have much development either. We had seen ACOFAS lay the background for her, the same way ACOSF laid the background for Elain's story.
Elain will surprise us. Sarah is practically screaming that at this point. So before judge something as out of character, we need to have in mind that Elain will have her arc and by the end of it, she will be different, she will grow. Which leads me to:
2. In order to be developed, characters need to change
Before ACOSF came out, lots of people said Nesta would never be a warrior, especially because of this line:
And why must I train at all? I am no warrior nor do I desire to be. (ACOWAR)
And I understand. I really do. But we went from that to Nesta not only becoming a Valkyrie, but also thinking about starting a small unit of females. Yes, that line is back in ACOWAR. However, in ACOSF Gwyn and Emerie said the exactly same thing:
Gwyn gestured to Nesta's fighting leathers, the overlapping scales. "I'm not a warrior".
Emerie's face yielded nothing, as blattle-hardened as Azriel's. "I'm not interested in a warrior's training".
There's a difference between developing a character and doing something out of character.
Elain already is passing through an internal change, which means SJM is preparing her for her arc. So we have to keep in mind that Elain will pass through challenges, changes in her journey, where she will learn new lessons, abilities. She will face and deal with her traumas and flaws, because she will be developed as a character. Of course, her essence will still be there, but in order to grow, she needs to change as well.
At this point lots of things happened to her, now we will see Elain making things happen. Changes like that are inevitable, necessary, but not out of character.
Now, if Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie became warriors, why would it be so out of character for Elain to become a spy?
Personally, I think if Elain became a warrior, that could be considered out of character, because Sarah already told us that her strength comes from a different place:
Elain had always been gentle and sweet—and I had considered it a different sort of strength. A better strength. To look at the hardness of the world and choose, over and over, to love, to be kind. She had been always so full of light.
Of course, this is Feyre's Pov, but is also SJM talking about Elain's nature.
We have to understand the difference between characters' point of view and what SJM is trying to tell us. For example, Nesta in ACOSF had one perception of Elain ("she is like a dog"), but SJM emphasized Nesta's perception as not correspondent to Elain's behavior. How? Using that scene where Elain talks about Nesta's dancing. in that moment, Cassian and the readers realized Nesta's point of view was biased, non correspondent to what Elain was showing us in that scene.
I'm saying that because there's a difference between narrator and author. But this is another discussion entirely.
But I truly believe from what we have seen so far, Elain isn't the warrior type. And despite the fact that we had just read ACOSF, therefore another book about warriors training doesn't sound so appealing, from what we had seen until now, Elain's has potencial (build up) to go to another direction, one that we haven't seen yet.
3. Elain already has what it takes
I want to look at this:
I wondered if Rhys’s spymaster often got his information through stone-cold manners as much as stealth and shadow.
My sister Elain can convince anyone to do anything with a few smiles.
For the record, Feyre said this in ACOWAR and these both scenes are very close to each other.
Spying is not all about shadows and stealth. Azriel works from the shadows, but if Elain can be so lovely and convincing that anyone would do anything for her, she could be a different kind of spy. And with her Seer powers, she could be a valuable one. As much or even more than the Night Court spymaster. Look at this:
Shadowsingers are rare—coveted by courts and territories across the world for their stealth and predisposition to hear and feel things others can’t.
We know Elain can be almost as stealthy as Azriel. And she is a Seer, which means she can See and hear things others can't, too. Not to mention we already have seen that she is observant and knows how to keep a secret.
Elain pushed, “We keep it secret—we send the servants away [...] No one will know.”
“I think she’s got you beat for secret-keeping.”
Elain saw every single thing Nesta had done, and understood why.
Not only she is observant, but also knows how to read people, to understand them. Look at these scenes where Nesta said basically the same thing, but Feyre didn't understand her. Elain on the other hand...
With Feyre:
“Father would want you to—”
“Don’t you finish that sentence.” Despite the sound shield around us, there was nothing to block the view of my sister baring her teeth. The view of her fingers curling into invisible claws. A scene. This was about to become a scene in the worst way. (ACOFAS)
With Elain:
"[...] if Father were here—”
“Don’t ever mention him.” Nesta bared her teeth, but kept her voice low. "Never fucking mention him again.”
Pain slowly washed over Elain’s face. And understanding. “Is that what this is all about? Father?” Silver lined Elain’s eyes, but her voice remained steady, sure. “There was nothing that could have been done to save him, Nesta." (ACOSF)
Elain understood exactly what was going on with Nesta.
Nothing is more telling to me than this, and I highly doubt SJM didn't want to show us not only Nesta's internal issues, but how Elain can understand and read very others very easily as well.
Elain also understood when Feyre wasn't sure about buying gifts. And not get me started on Azriel's bonus chapter, where it's emphasized repeatedly that they can read and comprehend each other without necessarily saying what they meant. This shows a connection between them, yes, but also a skill.
Just imagine how valuable and rare she would be for the Night Court.
And the best part is it wouldn't be out of character, because she already presented those features. Besides, Elain can be lovely, delicate and be a bad ass spy (or whatever she wishes to, tbh) . Even better: she can use those characteristics in her favor.
Do not forget what Rhysand said: Elain is sweet and she is not afraid of get her hands dirty. We just haven't seen that yet, because SJM will show us that in her book. Simple as that.
4. Elain being a spy attends SJM's pattern
In every book (or series) so far we had a female character learning something new. Feyre learned how to control her powers (and to read), Nesta learned how to be a warrior. I think it's safe to say that Elain will learn something in order to be developed as a character.
You could argue she could learn anything, which is fair. But in ACOSF we learned that Elain can be stealthy as well. SJM emphasized it again and again, and there is no way in hell she did that just for fun. It's safe to say by now that even if she doesn't become a spy, this ability will play a role in her book.
A few examples that we all know too well by now:
Elain spoke from the doorway, having appeared so silently that they all twisted toward her, “Using me.”
"You came,” Elain said behind her, and Nesta started, not having heard her sister approach. She scanned Elain from head to toe, wondering if she’d been taking lessons in stealth either from Azriel or the two half-wraiths she called friends.
She'd leave her gift amongst his other, opened presents, subtle and unnoticed.
What is curious is that stealth is associated with Azriel, but also with Nuala and Cerridwen, Elain's friends. (Here, I highly recommend this amazing post for more on this friendship and what it means to Elain’s future).
I don't have a doubt the next book is about Elain, it will be her book. So you can't tell me the fact that her friends and love interest are spies is just a coincidence or that won't mean anything. Not when Elain herself has already started to show that she can be just as stealthy and subtle as any of them.
In this scenario, we have:
Elain learning how to be a spy with Azriel, whilst they work together to find the Trove and help each other to heal from their issues.
A female main character learning something new with the help from her love interest whilst they work together to solve a problem connected to the main plot and help each oher to heal from their issues.
I PRESENT YOU THE SJM'S PATTERN.
I know some people like or don't like this theory because that would mean Elain would have a connection to Azriel or because they don't like her becoming "similar to Azriel".
But the thing is: they already share a connection, they know each other for almost two years now and most of their interactions happened "off-screen", so they don't need her to become a spy to want to be together. They already do.
And mostly important, she wouldn't become similar to Azriel, because Elain already has the required features. We don't know much about her, but so far what we do know is: she is stealthy and a good secret keeper. She knows how to read and understand people. She can hear and see things others can't, because she is a Seer, and she can be convincing af.
Most of those were emphasized again in ACOSF concomitantly with Elain's another side. (Tell me again the next book isn't about her).
And again: a female character learning something with her love interest is SJM's pattern. We've just read a book that follows this exactly structure. Are we going to say Nesta or Feyre lost their characterization because they learned and now share the same abilities as Cassian and Rhys?
SJM already answered that for us in ACOSF:
“Does it undermine my image as a warrior to be with you?”
“No. Does it undermine Feyre’s when she’s seen with Rhys?”
This is so telling, I literally stopped my reading at this. We tend to put this passage aside because of what comes next (Cassian being very discreet and screaming he's Nesta's mate to every single soul in Velaris to hear), which is totally fair. But right there, SJM is telling us that female characters sharing abilities with their love interests is no reason to undermine them. On the contrary, in her books this is a way for them to heal togheter.
Knowing SJM, Elain being a spy along with Azriel, Nuala and Cerridwen wouldn't be nothing new. We have seen this story over and over again.
We have so much build up for this, I could go on and on and on. And before someone says this won't work because Azriel has to stay away from her, just take a second to think about how much tension we would get if they are forced to work together in order to find the Trove (or any other reason that SJM will come up with). We'll have a story full of secrets, tension, drama, angst, passion, desire, love. Things too easy don't make a good story.
But at the end, even if she does not become a spy, I just think we have many possibilities for Elain and an amazing story ahead of us. I really want people to keep an open mind about her and her book and not judge too harsh amazing possibilities as out of character. If Nesta hadn't became a warrior, we wouldn't have known the Valkyries. So maybe, when you judge a possibility like that, you are closing yourself to an amazing journey.
And also, Nesta was once judged and hated. A lot of people ended up changing their minds, which is great because she is awesome. So I think we already learned that lesson.
We will see another side of Elain emerge and she will surprise us. That's not me, that's SJM. She already told us that. Repeatedly.
All of this just to say: keep an open mind about Elain. She has what it takes and will surprise us - and I can't wait to see her becoming a badass.

I know that the “I can hear your heart beating through the stone” comment is a very heavily debated topic right now, and I don’t want to fan the fire, but I noticed this and I can’t NOT share.
Here is the quote in question:
She looked away—toward the windows. “I can hear your heart,” she said quietly.
He wasn’t sure how to respond, so he said nothing, and drained his tea, even as it burned his mouth.
“When I sleep,” she murmured, “I can hear your heart beating through the stone.” She angled her head, as if the city view held some answer. “Can you hear mine?”
He wasn’t sure if she truly meant to address him, but he said, “No, lady. I cannot.”
There is a lot to point out about this scene, and it’s possible significance, but I’m only going to focus on the bolded parts.
Before I explain, I need to throw in another quote. This is from later on in ACOWAR, a scene that I nearly cry just rereading for this🥲:
That thing that rose and fell with each breath. That echoed each heartbeat.
The mating bond.
It wasn’t there. It was gone.
Because his own chest ... it was not moving.
And Rhys was dead.
These quotes point out something interesting to me.
Elain’s visions were often confusing and odd. It’s why they thought she was crazy. The ravens turning out to be two Hybern soldiers is the most notable example of this. I don’t necessarily think this was a vision (though since she added it’s when she sleeps, it’s totally plausible as well), but her mind was a very jumbled place at the time because of the visions, so she may not be thinking straight—most likely isn’t, actually—and could have also meant it as more than what is actively stated.
I believe she may have actually been referencing the mating bond in this scene, NOT Lucien (or anyone’s) actual heartbeat. Just as Feyre describes the mating bond to echo each heartbeat, Elain may have mistaken it to be such, or she may have known it was the mating bond—which is why she asks Lucien this question.
However, Lucien’s response is rather telling. He didn’t lie to her—we were in his head at the time, and Feyre would’ve noticed if he was lying. He meant it. He does not feel a heartbeat—nor anything similar enough to have caught her meaning. Which is odd, considering that Feyre only didn’t feel it after Rhysand had died. (You could argue it’s because Lucien and Elain haven’t accepted the bond, but in this context, it would be ignoring the fact that Elain was hearing it but Lucien wasn’t despite both of them having felt and been aware of the bond).
So my theory for this is that the heartbeat she is hearing is a mating bond to someone else—her true mating bond, to Azriel, while the one to Lucien is more likely a spell from the Cauldron. Not real. That could be a stretch, but with the mate behavior Azriel has exhibited (others have done a post on this, and I can too if people want to see it!) I don’t think it’s unlikely.
This is just a random thing I noticed, and completely my own interpretation! This scene is definitely a very interesting one, so it makes a lot of sense that it’s such a heavily debated topic, and it could have many hidden meanings. We don’t know what the true one is until SJM herself confirms it.

Hi! I’m so happy your asks are open again, your always so insightful! The relationship between Feyre and Nesta is seriously complicated and I always found fault on both sides. My biggest problem though is the passive behaviour Feyre had to her mate and the way he treated her sister. If she wanted a big happy family so much but saw the way her mate ostracized her sister, why not tell him off and stick up for her more? He shouldn’t have felt so comfortable with treating her poorly in her presence. Sorry for the longish rant!!
Thank you lovely! Sorry for doing that and then peacing out of tumblr for the weekend hehe
This makes me super angry! Honestly, I know the whole pregnancy thing was a mess and a half, but the way that Rhys interacts with Nesta and Elain has been bothering me for a lot longer, and can potentially have even worse repercussions for their relationship. The way that Cassian felt like he had to choose between Nesta and the IC in acosf? That's what Rhys's behavior is setting up for Feyre in the future, and it isn't going to turn out well for anyone if he insists on making her choose where her loyalties lie.
Rhys has no business putting his nose between the Archeron sisters. Period. It is 100% Feyre's decision how, when, if, where, etc. she wants to talk to Nesta and Elain, to see them, to have a sleepover, to go to therapy - literally EVERYTHING related to Feyre's relationship with her sisters is FEYRE'S BUSI-FUCKING-NESS.
I do think that this precedent was set prior to acosf. The way that Rhys treated Nesta in acosf didn't come from nowhere, it came from Feyre not making that boundary very clear, years ago. Like I remember complaining about this in acofas. I'm sure if I cared about rereading acowar, I would see signs there as well. It's just annoying af, and I have no idea who this Rhys is. It's like when he died and came back, he came back a different person. I blame sjm.
I can understand this in acofas and acosf from Feyre, to an extent, because she is finding her way as a leader and such. But I agree that she needs to be more firm with Rhys and tell him to butt the fuck out of sister business.

Oh my god your bio literally says ✨ANTI ELRIEL✨ and these soggy day old fries still come into your ask box and bark at you 🥴 gosh someone needs to put them on a leash or something because I have probably a hundred of them blocked and they still manage to dig up my posts and share them on twitter lol
Also yes I’m betting no one knows Az can sing, not only because he’s a pretty closed off and secretive person but because he’s the type to not share such information unless directly asked or is surprised/shocked into answering (lol Gwyn 😂) I mean mans barely speaks to begin with and I remember one of the characters describing him as someone who ‘doesn’t speak unless necessary’ so yeah incase any of your potato fans are reading this sorry but seems like you guys don’t know your 🌸soft uwu romeo bat boi🚬 like you guys claim to😳
in their defense, we all know reading isn't the typical e/riel's strong suit :/
they need a hobby, desperately lmao bc this stalking and making fun of total strangers online daily is..... yikes. i really hope they're not this weird offline.
i will give it to them that no it hasn't been officially confirmed she's the only one who knows but as i've said before sjm expects her readers to be able to think, at least a little. azriel is the most closed off person in the entire series, he rarely talks (just go reread acomaf! he spoke more in the scene where he was teaching feyre to fly in acowar than he did the entirety of the previous book), he doesn't like to share much about himself, he doesn't actively go out of his way to be social to anyone. idk why it's so unheard of for people to assume this is a fact he's likely only shared with gwyn? if not, i feel like it would've come up at some point. could i be wrong? absolutely! it just doesn't make sense to me.
either way him revealing this to gwyn is important, bc whether or not his brothers know, he still chose to tell gwyn. someone who he had barely said two words to up until this point. we've known azriel for 4 books and know almost nothing about him aside from his dark, brooding exterior so the fact that gwyn so easily got him to admit to this is very telling imo.
of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but as sjm once said... she thinks it's obvious.

Note
I just reread acosf and I’m feeling less confident about Gwynriel. After reading Azriel’s chapter I really saw that as the nail in the e*riel coffin. There were more moments of Azriel and E/ain than I remembered though. If the bonus chapter was really supposed to end them, why put those other parts in the main story? Has me feeling like there will be at least some type of e*riel relationship at some point now.
Hello anon,
They literally interacted two times directly in the book. I counted them, two times. The other times are Azriel's reactions towards Elain scrying the trove or on Solstice or when Nesta insulted her. Of course if Azriel's book is next, his feelings have to be explored just as we did with Feyre when she was conflicted about Tamlin. Not that I am comparing the two but you had Feyre already in love with Tamlin while Az still has to deal with his conflicting feelings for Mor and Elain. That is going to be addressed and resolved.
We had Feyre going from being in love with Tamlin in the beginning of ACOMAF, to her falling for Rhys during the middle of it, and to her being his mate and the High Lady of the Night Court. A lot can happen in one book (700+ pages).
Elr*el aren't written like SJM endgame couples. You barely see them have a full on conversation on-page. Don't tell me it's because it's not their book yet, Nessian had full pages of their interactions in ACOWAR. You didn't question their attraction or feelings to one another, it was obvious unlike 90% of Elr*el scenes that were ambiguous.
I think it adds more to how Azriel's feelings function and showcases his desperation to have someone. Why else do we have moments of him and Gwyn there? Why does Sarah highlight their reactions to one another even if they're not interacting? for me, they fit the endgame mold.

Proving that Feysand x Helion had sex.
I'm rereading ACOSF and now I can say with 100% of certain that they had sex between the timeline of ACOFAS and ACOSF.
Don't believe? C'mon let's go, we will enter in ACOSF rigth now.
Helion grinned at Feyre, who’d watched the stallion soar into the clouds with wide eyes. He said, “I’ll take you on a ride if you wish.”
Of course, it was implicit that Helion would let Feyre ride him, the story of her riding on the pegasus was just a innuendo to repeat what they had, but SJM didn't let it explicit so we wouldn't take our focus off Nessian. Now, what shows that they had sex before that scene? Just pay attention that he grinned to her.
Helion’s eyes widened, going right to her middle, where her hand now rested against the small swelling. He let out a laugh. “So this is why you needed to learn about impenetrable shields, Rhysand.” Helion leaned in to kiss Feyre’s cheek. “My congratulations to you both.”
Here, here: he is kissing her cheek. Does Rhys appear to be annoyied about it? No!
Helion smirked, picking an invisible fleck of lint from his draped white robe, then faced Rhys. His dark brown skin gleamed over the strong muscles of his bare thighs and legs, the golden sandals that laced up his calves useless in the snowcapped terrain around them. (...) The male drawled to Rhys, “Well? You wanted me to do some digging into a spell? Or was that an excuse to get me to your twisted pleasure palace under this mountain?”
Do I need to explain this one? Really? It's obvious that they had something, but if you still thinking that they didn't: why would SJM put that Helion's skin gleamed after he faced Rhys? More: "Or was that an excuse to get me to your twisted pleasure palace under this mountain?" Here we can clearly see that their first time happaned under the pretext of doing some other thing and turned out that THEY HAD SEX IN THE HEWN CITY. Such dirty High Lords and Lady.
Rhys sighed. “Please don’t make me regret bringing you here, Helion.” Helion’s golden eyes lit. “Where would the fun be if I didn’t?” Feyre linked her arm through his. “I missed you, my friend.” Helion patted her hand. “I’ll deny it to the grave if you tell anyone, but I missed you too, Cursebreaker.”
Please, this part exhales: we had sex.
Nothing in the Hewn City had seemed to disturb him until that moment. Not the towering black pillars and their carvings, not the wicked people who occupied it, not the utter darkness of the place.
Of course it didn't, Cass silly, it's because he had already been there doing some dirty stuff!
So now you say: "omg naah why helion?" or "this is bullshit you're so dumb" about latter: dumb I may be, but I'm proudly dumb for Feysand + Helion.
Anyways, even in ACOWAR we had some foreshadows that it would happen!
The three of them in bed ... with him? I must have been blinking like a fool because Rhys said to me, Helion favors both males and females. Usually together in his bed. And has been hounding after that trio for centuries. I considered—Helion’s beauty and the others ... Why the hell haven’t they said yes? Rhys barked a laugh that had all of them looking at him with raised brows. My mate just came up behind me and slid his arms around my waist, pressing a kiss to my neck. Would you like someone to join us in bed, Feyre darling? My skin stretched tight over my bones at the tone, the suggestion. You’re incorrigible. I think you’d like two males worshipping you. My toes curled.
Guysssss. I even dare to say that maybe Azriel joined them! It was already settled! And if Rhysand, Feyre's mate (mate who is supposed to know everything about each other) thinks that she would like that, who are you to say no?!
But I didn't answerd: why Helion? Well, let's see here:
Helion drew his gaze from Mor long enough to ask Rhys, “You and pretty Tarquin had a moment today. Do you truly think he’ll join us?” “If you mean in bed, definitely not,” Rhys said with a wry smile as he again sprawled on his spread of cushions. “But if you mean in this war ... Yes. I believe he means to fight. Beron, on the other hand ...”
Don't make a fool of yourself, of course they had something in the past so it's logical that he will invite Helion to have sex with him and his mate since Helion is the most trusthfull! (Maybe latter they will invite pretty Tarquin)
So here ends my analysis, but now I have a great question that may change the course of what we are expeting for:
What if Nyx is actually Helion's son?
"Oh but Nyx was born with wings" So what? Feyre was having sex with wings that explain things! "Oh but it's clearly Rhysand" Well we though that Lucien was Beron's son until ACOWAR came, unh
AND OMG HOW WOULD LUCIEN FEEL ABOUT IT??

Elain Archeron Appreciation Week: Day 1; Favorite Scene
So I have multiple. I will pick one from each book. Because she’s my favorite character. And I adore her.
ACOTAR
“Feyre, you should have told us!” Elain said, still gaping. “Oh, how awful—and you had to endure losing her all on your own, you poor thing. Father will be devastated that he didn’t get to pay his respects.”
...
“Feyre, you look as dumbfounded as we were,” Elain said, hooking elbows with me. “Come inside. We’ll show you the house! We don’t have a room decorated for you, because we thought you’d be with poor old Aunt Ripleigh for months yet, but we have so many bedrooms that you can sleep in a different one each night if you wish!”
...
“You should come with me,” Elain went on. “Nesta won’t go, because she says she doesn’t want to risk the sea crossing, but you and I … Oh, we’d have fun, wouldn’t we?”
Listen. Elain’s reaction to Feyre returning home...you cannot tell me she does not love her sister. Her pure radiance and joy at seeing Feyre. Not to mention, it’s now her turn to take care of Feyre and she immediately embraces it. She tells Feyre they’ll figure out her room and encourages her to find one that makes her comfortable. She makes sure their father is able to start accessing Feyre’s new money. She even arranges a ball (because that’s the kind of thing people did) just to celebrate Feyre’s return. Even under the effects of the glamour, she wants to know about Feyre’s life as it was. And she wants to do things with Feyre. I think they could have had so much fun on the continent.
ACOMAF
“Nesta,” Elain said again, twisting her hands. “If … if we do not help Feyre, there won’t be a wedding. Even Lord Nolan’s battlements and all his men, couldn’t save me from … from them.” Nesta didn’t so much as flinch. Elain pushed, “We keep it secret—we send the servants away. With the spring approaching, they’ll be glad to go home. And if Feyre needs to be in and out for meetings, she’ll send word ahead, and we’ll clear them out. Make up excuses to send them on holidays. Father won’t be back until the summer, anyway. No one will know.” She put a hand on Nesta’s knee, the purple of my sister’s gown nearly swallowing up the ivory hand. “Feyre gave and gave—for years. Let us now help her. Help … others.”
A faint smile bloomed upon Azriel’s mouth as he noticed Elain’s fingers white-knuckled on that fork, but he kept silent, focusing instead, as Cassian was subtly trying to do, on adjusting his wings around a human chair. Cauldron damn me.
Elain’s voice wobbled as she noted the same thing and quickly said to him, “It … it is very hard, you understand, to … accept it.” I realized the dark metal of her ring … it was iron. Even though I had told them about iron being useless, there it was. The gift from her Fae-hating soon-to-be-husband’s family. Elain cast pleading eyes on Rhys, then Azriel, such mortal fear coating her features, her scent. “We are raised this way. We hear stories of your kind crossing the wall to hurt us. Our own neighbor, Clare Beddor, was taken, her family murdered …”
Elain sat a little higher as she said to Cassian, “And as for Feyre’s hunting during those years, it was not Nesta’s neglect alone that is to blame. We were scared, and had received no training, and everything had been taken, and we failed her. Both of us.”
This. I will die for Elain here. Elain, who was able to recognize her mistakes and wanting to help her sister. She wants to do better. Not to mention it’s just a great moment. We see how much good is in her. She’s terrified of Cassian, Az and Rhys. But she’s still talking to them. Defends her sister in front of them. I think it shows just how strong she is, especially compared to what everyone seems to think of her.
ACOWAR
Elain stepped out of a shadow behind him, and rammed Truth-Teller to the hilt through the back of the king’s neck as she snarled in his ear, “Don’t you touch my sister.”
Listen. Even in my first couple reads when I didn’t give a rat’s ass about Elain, this moment made me cheer. When my third reread happened to have Elain grabbing me by the collar and making me love her, this scene became even better. The amount of courage she’d have had to build up. The amount on energy. The amount that she would have had to push back to make herself do something like this? Impeccable. Respect. And she deserves every ounce of respect for this moment. And you will not dare tell me otherwise.
ACOFAS
Elain floated to my side. “Happy birthday, Feyre.” My friends—my family—echoed the words as Rhys set the cake on the low-lying table before the fire. I glanced toward my sister. “Did you …?” A nod from Elain. “Nuala did the decorating, though.” It was then that I realized what the three different tiers had been painted to look like. On the top: flowers. In the middle: flames. And on the bottom, widest layer … stars. The same design of the chest of drawers I’d once painted in that dilapidated cottage. One for each of us—each sister. Those stars and moons sent to me, my mind, by my mate, long before we’d ever met. “I asked Nuala to do it in that order,” Elain said as the others gathered round. “Because you’re the foundation, the one who lifts us. You always have been.”
Listen. When I tell you this part almost makes me cry, I’m not kidding. Feyre had always wondered if her sisters ever even noticed the dresser. And the way Elain chose to show she had....absolutely beautiful. GORGEOUS. And I don’t think she gets enough appreciation for this moment Either.
ACOSF (I don’t have the E-book so copying and pasting isn’t happening. And I’m too lazy to type out everything)
Elain talking about Nesta dancing. The whole time she talks about Nesta. And commenting on how happy she is that Nesta has found something that seems to make her just as happy.
For all the wrong things she said in this book (which weren’t awful, just mistakes and it’s okay), I wish Nesta could have heard Elain in that moment. I wish Nesta could have been there to hear how Elain admired that. It just...oh my heart. I felt so much for Elain in this moment. Elain who had loved Nesta and was being pushed away. Elain who loved her family so dearly and felt like she was losing Nesta. That moment. I wanted to hug her.

Making the Case for Elucien’s Book Already Having Been in the Works
The link to SJM’s Live Talks LA with Eva Chen is linked below and takes place after the release of ACOSF but here are some of the important take aways:
Do you have a book planned for the other sister? (referring to Elain)
24:50 - “Yes, to everything.  As soon as Nesta and Elain came back on the page in ACOMAF, I knew they would have journey's beyond what the reader was seeing.”
27:55 - “each book is a standalone that features it's own couple”
28:50 - Writing ACOWAR but finishing up ACOMAF - she told her editor  "what plans I had for Elain"
29:50 - "because this is where I wanted it go it allowed me to plant things for her journey and even Elain's journey early on"
30:48 - "I always try to keep one eye on the horizon when I'm writing just to make sure in the book I'm working on, I can set up for things later on. So there's lot of little secrets in SF that set up for later.” (this entire line of responses was based around having set up Nesta and ELAIN’s journey so it’s safe to say that some of the secrets she’s referring to in SF are in reference to Elain.  E/riels always use Elain and Az’s Bonus Chapter as proof of endgame and that Elain is Az’s secret but SJM is talking about secrets she’s left for the reader to find.  Nesta claiming “Az’s secret to tell” is not a secret to the reader at all.  Secrets are.....why Nesta placed the carving of the rose made for Elain next to a goddess figure.  Secrets are....hinting that Spring was MADE for someone like Elain.  Secrets are....placing both Lucien and Elain in Spring in future books as well as hinting that they’ll both end up traveling to the continent where Koschei is.  Secrets are the hints that someone other than Rhys may be High King and Lucien is showing the first markers of becoming a High Lord.  Secrets are what the real reason for Elain’s stealth like behaviors might be.
33:13 - "basically I want to go everywhere except the Spring Court because Tamlin sucks.  But I love the Spring.  That's my problem.  Some of the seasons I adore but the people who run the courts are like giant douchebags.
50:00 - (talking about Silver Flames) We sent it off to the printer this past fall.
57:00 - Are there any iconic couples in pop culture of history or movies that you "stan", that might have been inspiring for any of the couples in any of your.....
57:36 - I don't think I was inspired by any of the couples but during the pandemic I’d done a bunch of rereading of Pride and Prejudice and listened to it and watched that BBC adaptation but Elizabeth and Darcy are......I can't get enough of their sexual tension.
58:40 - They have just as much sexual chemistry and tension as any graphically described relationship
58:50 - I have spent a lot of time imagining what the Darcy / Elizabeth wedding night would be like.
59:20 - I've spent a lot of time thinking about Pride and Prejudice lately. Elizabeth and Darcy and their relationship and what he does for her by the end of that book and how she evolves and changes by the end of the book.  I mean they both change and evolve and that's what I love most about their story, they're still very much themselves by the end of that book but they develop an understanding of each other and they've also grown because of each other and grown because of confronting each other.
After the last comment at 59:20, SJM then brings it back to Nesta and Cassian saying “and Nesta and Cassian I’m not going to be arrogant enough saying they’re just like Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy because they’re different stories but that’s the kind of relationship I like to write about.
.......But, Silver Flames had already been released and at 59:20, she said that she’s been spending a lot of time thinking about Pride and Prejudice lately.  So to me, she’s not thinking about P&P because of Nessian since their story had already been told and theirs was definitely a graphically described romance.  She then says Nesta and Cassian are maybe a reverse P&P where she’s more like Mr. Darcy and he’s more like Elizabeth but to me they don’t give off P & P vibes.  Sure, Nesta had stubbornness but it was more about her own self hatred.  Elizabeth and Darcy’s issues arose because of the first impressions they had about the other person which is very similar to the way Elain and Lucien found out they were Mates, it set the tone for their entire relationship so far (not to mention Lucien initially felt humans were inferior to the Fae in ACOTAR as Darcy struggled with Elizabeth’s “lesser” class).  There also wasn’t a lot of sexual tension in Nessian’s book considering the sex played a large role very early on and they lack the propriety that Elizabeth and Darcy did.
There is no other SJM couple that embodies Pride and Prejudice more thoroughly than Elain and Lucien, two characters who need to learn to “confront one another” and I can't imagine why she would have repeatedly been reading / watching / listening to it unless she was channeling Elucien.
Azriel may be broody but his thoughts are extremely graphic in nature and he's violent (not at all Darcy like).  There’s also no way for him to still be "very much himself" by the end of his book and end up a match for Elain. SJM likes her characters to grow but not be unrecognizable.
In the same interview she spoke of hints for Elain’s journey, she calls Tamlin a douchebag so I highly doubt she’s building towards a Tamlain ship.

Hey, how are you doing? hope I'm not disturbing you
I was re-reading ACOWAR and saw this:
“You fit into the Spring Court as little as I did, Lucien. You enjoyed its pleasures and diversions. But don’t pretend you weren’t made for something more than that.”
Rereading this part and making a parallel with ACOSF (especially the part where Azriel tells Rhys to put Lucien permanently in Spring Court). This means that he is no longer living in the BoE, right?
Do you think this could be some hint from SJM, that she will use this or that she will just forget about it?
Ps.: Lucien mentions Dawn Court's more than once, I think he loves that place. My mind screams that he will love his father's Court.
Ps²: My personal wish, I need to read in the next books or see some art with Lucien in a Pegasus or on a magic carpet.
hey, I’m alright, thank you for asking!
I love that quote about lucien so much because it’s true. the spring court isn’t his home, it was his refuge for some time but that is clearly over now. and this refuge wasn’t meant to be his home forever.
but I think you’ve misunderstood that part because lucien doesn’t live in the spring court. it’s said that he spends a majority of his time in the human lands — with vassa and jurian. he doesn’t live at the spring court any longer because he’s fallen out with tamlin. and besides, lucien wouldn’t want to go there anyway because of all that happened. tamlin isn’t his friend anymore.
[…] but the male remained in the human lands with Jurian and Vassa.
and honestly azriel can s*ck my d*ck for suggesting lucien should be permanently stationed at the spring court. I don’t care about the reasons some might claim he has. a part of that is always self-interest to me.
that’s why I don’t what you mean with it being a hint? I think the fact that lucien still hasn’t found a home is important because it will play a huge role when he finds out helion is his father. right now, lucien doesn’t have a place to belong (and neither has elain 👉🏻👈🏻)
about the dawn court: I also always got the impression he might visit the dawn court the most, and he’s got friends there! (not sure if this makes a lot of difference, but lucien probably has friends in every court lol) so yeah, he must have visited day court, too, but probable not as much as dawn court. I hope that he’ll like his father’s place and can find a place to feel at home at there 🥺 and I somehow doubt we would ever see lucien on a pegasus 🥲 there aren’t many left, which is why I think helion might help out the valkyries with them. but that’s a cute idea

Some headcanons I have post-ACOSF
(don’t ask where this comes from i’m just aching because i finished rereading acosf and thinking headcanons is my coping mechanism)
(i wrote “some” in the title but they are like a million????)
(like now this is a master list of headcanons i have...)
BE AWARE OF ACOSF SPOILERS!!!
*Probably I’ll edit it pretty often because headcanons come whenever they like.
*i’ll probably add feysand headcanons in the future but not now because there’re A LOT out here but know I have some like feysand beign parents is too cute to ignore.
*sorry if there are some spelling errors, English is not my first language.
Tumblr media
The cabin headcanons
(yes the cabin has its own subtitle)
Cassian takes Nesta to the cabin after their mating bond ceremony and then happens chapter 55 but Nesta adapted. There’s no soup but a biscuit.
When Nyx is a little older he starts participating in the snowball fight. Rhys, Cassian and Az let him win.
In one of her visits, Feyre paints her sisters and Nyx’s eyes beside the IC ones, because they are now part of the Court of Dreams (this one made me cry a little honestly)
Whenever one of the IC’s couples wants to take a break they go to the cabin. Sometimes Az goes too to play chaperone. Spoiler: it doesn’t work (especially NOT with Nessian) (this one made me laugh)
Nesta likes the cabin’s vibes to read, so she goes often. Sometimes Cassian joins her but he bores to death so he wouldn’t let her read (if you get what i mean)
I can imagine the IC visiting it, long nights bonding in front of a fire and playing board games. Rhys, Nesta and Azriel are so competitive that stay awake til one of them wins. (actually Rhys and Azriel competitive spirit over board games is canon) (i just imagine Nesta playing the courtier to win) (then she loses and is cranky for a day). Meanwhile, Mor and Cassian drink themselves silly, and Feyre and Elain play with Nyx. Amren just purrs sitting in Varian’s lap. (Amren as the house cat)
The girls decide to do their own snowball fight honestly i don’t know why this is not canon yet. One year they decide to do girls vs. boys. The girls win and the boys don’t want to play against them again.
Nyx and his cousins learning to fly in a summer vacation there. (yeah because nessian’s children are happening in the future and they are in some of my headcanons sorry)
Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie go there sometimes (not so often because they prefer staying with the House please never forget they are all friends) and go hiking.
When Nyx and Nessian’s children are older and misbehave their parents send them to the cabin. Then whoever of them didn’t got to be grounded slips alcohol to the ones inside. (Actually i can see them doing this??? Rhys and Mor did the same. Also I can see Nyx and his cousins having a relationship similar to Rhys and Mor’s and Aelin and Aedion’s)
Inner Circle couples and the sauna. Not gonna say anything else, but just know it’s hella weird there’re no scenes in there...
The House of Wind headcanons
(big house deserved its own headcanons)
Nesta installs a dance studio in there and whenever she can she goes and dance for hours.
Nesta, Gwyn, Emerie and the House start a monthly sleep-over in the private library. The House always conjures the miniature pegasus without being asked.
Can we talk about the fact that in the future the House of Wind will have a nursery???? because i have to talk about it. don’t know if i’ll be able to do so without crying but just- nessian’s babies nation
When Nessian’s children are born the House would conjure anything just to please them and will protect them at all costs. The House as a babysitter and mother-hen.
The House starts talking to Cassian and recommends him smut books. He reads them and find them pretty interesting. He also recommends the House books but as they are of warfare the House finds them boring.
When Cassian and Nesta fight the House would be angry with Cassian for some days and would serve his food cold.
The House of Wind is Nyx’s favorite place in the city. Cassian and Nesta even give him a room when he is older. He loves it for the same reason Rhys did: flying. He also likes asking the House ridiculous things -the House loves his petitions-
Azriel keeps his room of course, but playing the chaperone is useless now (it always was)
Mor befriends the house and together they plan jokes to Cassian.
Feyre loves going to the House because it reminds her that her sister is happy and will never be alone.
Nessian headcanons
(of course there are nessian’s headcanons)
While sleeping, Cassian is very restless while Nesta sleeps in a ball, but they make it work. Also, Cassian takes all the blankets so Nesta ends up beside him and his wings.
The two of them loves sleeping in. Cassian would never admit it because he would never hear the end of it from the ic. (i know he said in acomaf that daylight is precious but now that he has found his mate he has change a liiitle his opinion about that. like now wake up beside his love is more precious than anything!!!!!)
I think it’s not fair we didn’t got a smut scene in the bathtub.
And in Windhaven.
Aaaaand in the cabin.
When Nesta has a nightmare, Cassian would hug her and comfort her while remind her it was a dream, and now she got out, and is loved and cherished by a lot of people.
Nesta loves that Cassian strokes her head, more when her hair is down. (i really like that nesta prefers updo hairstyles tho)
Nesta sitting on Cassian’s lap. That’s all I need for a next book. (i also need more domestic scenes between them like the one in Winter Solstice when Nesta hangs their coats) (also i need to read nessian from another pov i want to know how they look like from outside their pov)
Nessian dancing into the darkest hours, losing themselves into the music and their embrace. (i need a slow dancing fanfic thx)
Nesta is still a little uncomfortable to venture into Velaris so she asks Cassian to fly her over the city whenever she needs to go out and doesnt want to tangle in the multitude.
Cassian reading an Illyrian report while Nesta reads a romance book. Domestic mates part one hundred.
Nesta loves flying (WHY THIS IS NOT CANON SARAH) (like i would have been awesome to read nesta liking flying after that scene with rhys in acowar)
I love that is canon they like chocolate cake idk just wanted to say that.
Nesta headcanons
(my daughter deserves them)
Every Starfall, Nesta would take the stairs down and up just to remind herself the way up is long but by the end she would find happiness.
She is really protective over the House. She wouldn’t let anyone spill anything or mess around.
She starts taking dancing lessons again, even though she doesn’t need them. It’s her favorite part of the week. I can imagine Gwyn joining her. Emerie prefers watching them and smirk while drinking tea.
She visits her father’s tomb more than her sisters, and tells him every aspect of her life because she didn’t do it when he was alive.
She doesn’t like the Court of Nightmares, but the Winter Solstice ball in there is one of her favorites events of the year.
She goes back to being a courtier/emmisary for the Night Court and loves tormenting the people she has to deal with. (just imagine Nesta in Vallahan, they would sign the treaty in a second)
She continues working in the Library because she is still healing and the Library is such a big part of that. She continues fighting with Merrill too (gwyn is please of that)
Also she starts practicing with Amren to use her powers, even if there is not a lot to master (tho i think she is still very powerful but let’s wait for the next book to confirm this)
ALSO Nesta as a mother: she gives her children a lot of love because she remembers how it is to have a cold mother and doesn’t want to repeat the story.
Nessian’s children headcanon
(tho i imagine they have at least a daughter so she is gonna appear a lot in my hc sorry)
I can imagine them having an unexpected pregnancy idk why they would be very happy tho (like chaolene’s) (not so soon after acosf, they would enjoy some free-of-babies-years)
Now I want a fanfic about nessian finding out they are pregnant please writers do it
Tho I can imagine its during training.
Nessian’s baby would sleep between them. Cassian loves that and even though Nesta says the contrary, privately she loves it too.
Nesta teaching their daughter to dance, while Cassian teaches her to fly. Together, they teach her to fight. Their daughter wants to be a Valkyrie like her mom and aunts.
Also Nesta reading her daughter to bed and then getting asleep. Cassian would find the two of them sleeping and would cover them with a quilt.
Their daughter loves to hear the stories about Nessian’s Blood Rites, and would ask everyone about them.
Their daughter is their number 1 fan im crying in softness
She also wants to hear the stories of her uncles and aunts even though some are sad, because she knows they are happy and together now.
I can see Nessian wanting another baby tbh but let’s stop in one until Sarah shows us the contrary.
But just imagine Nessian’s children + Nyx playing hide-and-seek on the House of the Wind and the House helping them hide.
Nessian’s daugther loves hearing Gwyn sing, and is particularly obsessed with Emerie because she sees herself in Emerie (like they are both Illyrians i’m crying nessian’s daughter doesnt understand why her aunt can’t fly).
She has spring allergies too.

After Midnight pt. 4 (Feysand)
I have the strongest urge to reread ACOWAR just to read the part where Cass and Azriel like “slam into the ice” or something when Feyre’s running from the Autumn Court. That scene is so good for absolutely no reason I love it.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

~Rhysand~
As usual, thoughts of Feyre invade my head the entire week.
I can’t believe I told her about Mor.
My cousin’s treatment is my biggest secret, and I haven’t even let it slip to my closest friends. They all think I’m too busy with teaching to see them. And Mor... I told her I’m paying for her care by finance work online.
And yet I told Feyre.
The one person on the planet I probably shouldn’t have told.
Except I don’t regret a moment of what happened last week.
Even the goodbye kiss. Oh, yeah, that’s played a prominent part in the memories that flood through my head in the seven days between our appointments.
I couldn’t resist it. She was standing there looking painfully beautiful, and thoughts of what she’d done an hour before were practically suffocating me. So I kissed her.
Which was stupid as hell, because goodbye kisses are something couples do. Couples who have feelings for each other.
And we don’t.
We have a connection--that’s undeniable at this point--but we definitely don’t have feelings for each other.
I ignore how that statement feels and get off the elevator, then use the key Feyre left at the desk for me and swing the door open to our standard Friday-night room.
As soon as I see her, I feel my face stretch into a wide, genuine smile I hardly use anymore. I’d feel ridiculous if she weren’t smiling back at me.
“Feyre,” I greet, brain only able to produce one word. Usually I’d say something else, perhaps ask how her week was, but I can’t hold onto any solid thoughts as I drag my eyes appreciatively over her frame.
Her typical jeans and tank-top have been replaced with a black work dress, and while it’s not provocative in the slightest, she manages to make it look like the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.
“You have your horny eyes on, Rhysand,” she teases, taking a step towards me.
Probably because I’m horny.
I manage to keep that bit of truth in and scoff instead. “How do you know these aren’t my artist eyes?”
Her lips twitch as she takes another step towards me. “Because I’m about a thousand percent sure you have no idea what the difference between surrealism and cubism is.”
I find myself walking towards her, too as I reply, “I could probably come up with a pretty good lie if you gave me enough time.”
She shrugs, and I notice we’re face to face now. Our little banter’s immediately forgotten as we look each other over, and my ego goes almost through the roof as her eyes go horny, too.
I don’t know why, but I’ve never been so attracted to someone in my entire life. I’ve been around more than enough women, and it’s never been like this. I’ve never felt so... out of control.
All I want to do is throw her down on that bed and kiss every inch of her skin until she begs me for more.
Feyre’s apparently having similar dirty thoughts, because she tilts her head back and makes a request. And for the first time, she doesn’t even blush.
“Kiss me, please.”
Always so polite.
Grinning, I brush her hair behind her ear and cup her jaw. Then I lean down and press my mouth to hers in the softest, barest kiss possible.
Pulling back, I meet her clear blue eyes and smirk at how annoyed she looks. I know what she wants, but I don’t want her to ask. I want her to kiss me like she wants to be kissed.
And after calling me a “total asshole,” she does. Her hands pull my face back down to hers, and then her mouth is claiming mine in a slow, heated embrace.
I really could kiss her all night.
Especially when she’s like this, kissing me like it’s the last time she’ll ever get to do it.
My hands pull her hips to me, then sneak around to her backside. She’s on her tiptoes, giving me plenty of access, but it somehow isn’t enough, so I lift her clear off her feet.
Feyre gasps into my mouth, even as she wraps her legs around my waist. And it feels like fucking heaven.
I remind myself once again that she's paying me to be here. I don’t deserve her. I shouldn’t enjoy it like this. Shouldn’t think about her all the time. Shouldn’t crave the taste of her skin. But, gods above I do.
And for once, I’m going to just let go and stop caring.
So I walk us over to the bed, then flop down on my back with her on top of me, keeping in mind her panic at confinement.
Then she surprises me by rolling over, gripping my shoulders so I come with her. I find myself between her thighs, braced on my elbows, looking down at her in confusion.
Before I can speak a word, she beats me to it. “I trust you.”
She whispers the words, but I hear them loud and clear. And I don’t know why, but it makes my chest tighten to the point it hurts.
Maybe because I know how big of a deal trust is to her. Maybe because in my mind, it makes me different from everyone else. Maybe because... I trust her, too.
We’re kissing again, and even I have no idea who’s kissing who at this point. It feels like we’re both desperate for each other, like we can’t get enough.
Her hands are all over me, and when they slide under my shirt, I lean up to tug it off. I don’t know if she just gave up trying to be polite or doesn’t care anymore or knows I’d say yes to anything she wants, but I’m not complaining.
A hand on my chest pushes me up a few inches, and then she’s reaching behind her back to unzip her dress.
Because I’m a gentleman, I help her out of it, and then my hands are on her skin, callouses scraping across her abdomen, up her legs, down her arms.
I move to kiss her neck, smiling when she moans softly. Her hands slide down my abdomen, then the buckle of my pants flicks open.
Pulling back, I look down at her and scan her face for any sign of hesitation, not wanting to do anything she doesn’t want.
But there’s none.
And Feyre confirms it a second later when she smiles, cups my face, and says, “Please.”
She should never, ever say that word again, since she obviously doesn’t know what it does to me.
“Feyre,” I warn, knowing that once I start down this path, I won’t be able to stop.
She just nods and pulls me back down to her. “I’m ready. But only... only if you want to.”
Because even though she’s paying me more than most people make in a month for being here, she’d never force me.
“Silly woman,” I tell her, and she smiles at the words.
Her legs fall open further as I kick off my pants and briefs, but even as I sink back down on top of her, I don’t make a move to take things further.
I don’t just want her to be ready; I want her to be desperate.
So I keep kissing her.
And then I run a hand down her stomach and slip it between her legs. She makes a helpless, indignant sound, but I don’t stop.
Leaning down further, I tug on her earlobe with my teeth as I push a finger inside her, and she mumbles my name. I think I could listen to her say those four letters on fucking repeat.
My mouth makes its way down to her chest, and I start teasing her there, too. Gods, the way her skin tastes is like a drug to me.
“Rhysand,” she warns, her back arching off the bed.
I switch to her other breast, and her hands tug my hair in a way that makes my resolve start to crumble.
“I know you told me to never tell you what to do, but I’m going to anyway,” I tell her with a smile, moving to press a kiss to her cheek. “Come for me.”
Surprisingly, she listens to the demand, arching into me and squeezing my shoulders hard enough her nails dig in.
It’s only when she’s coming down from the high that I reach between us and bring us together.
Feyre moans, and I let out a curse that would make a sailor blush, unable to help it.
Because I was right: having her on my hand is absolutely nothing compared to having her beneath me.
Even though my body begs me to move, I stay still until her eyes open and peer up at me. “Rhys.”
It’s just one word, but I understand exactly what she’s saying. “I know.”
I start to move, hips going slow enough to make us both crave more. Her legs are tight around my waist, and I grip her hip with one hand, bracing myself with the other.
We’re kissing again, her hands in my hair keeping me where she wants. When her hips start to churn against mine, I pick up speed, and she groans into my mouth.
Her name falls off my lips and she smiles against me, seeming to like it as much as I do. Her fingers run through my hair, and she moves to kiss down my throat, across my collarbone.
It’s too much, just like I knew it’d be. She’s moving against me in an effortlessly sexy way, and I’m close to begging her to stop because it’s driving me fucking crazy.
She definitely doesn’t feel like a client right now, that’s for sure.
That thought threatens to ruin my happiness, so I shove it away and move a hand between her legs.
Her head tilts back on the mattress, and I know she’s close because she starts murmuring all sorts of nonsense.
Smiling, I kiss her again, moving both my hips and my hand a little faster.
And it’s a good fucking thing she finds release, because I don’t know how much longer I could’ve made it.
She’s tight around me, and it’s an effort to keep going as both of us groan and clutch at each other. I keep kissing her thoroughly as the aftershocks work their way through my entire body, unable to pull myself away.
Even when I no longer feel like I’m falling off a cliff, I press kisses to her bottom lip, her cheek, her nose. It’s completely unprofessional and emotional, but I can’t stop myself.
She looks goddamn edible, all flushed and happy and smiling up at me.
Eventually I force myself to stop and roll off her, and then we both lay looking at the ceiling as our breathing returns to normal.
“Thanks,” she giggles, the sound so adorable I chuckle, too.
“Ditto,” I respond honestly, smiling when she rolls toward me and puts her head on my chest.
Apparently she’s feeling a little unprofessional, too.
I’m suddenly too tired to worry about it.
My eyes drift close as one of my hands finds its way to her hair, pulling the soft strands through my fingers sleepily. Normally I don’t pass out next to clients, but it’s been a long ass week, and she’s so warm, and I’m so comfortable.
I hear her murmur something, feel her lips press against my cheek softly, but I’m too tired to keep myself awake.
~
I wake up with a start, sitting up in the bed and looking around the dim room in confusion.
Feyre isn’t occupying her side of the bed, and a slight panic works its way over me as I run a hand over the cool sheets. Did she have a panic attack? Where is she?
I kick the covers off and run to the bathroom, but she isn’t there either. She’s nowhere to be found, because she’s not here.
I’d think she went to get room service or something from the bar, except her bag’s gone, too. And suddenly, I realized what happened.
She left.
It’s confirmed a second later when I see a white envelope sitting on top of my backpack.
Heart working overtime in my chest, I trudge over and pick it up. It’s heavy, like there’s a lot of paperwork inside.
Gods, she isn’t suing me or something, is she?
That happened once, and it fucking sucked.
Tearing open the envelope and looking at what’s inside, I realize it’s so much worse.
I throw the thick stack of papers on the bed, focusing instead on the handwritten note in my hands.
Rhys,
I meant to give you this when you showed up tonight, but like you said, I have no self-control. It really is pathetic, but I blame you.
I know we had another appointment, but I can’t see you again. I’m slightly embarrassed to say you were right to worry about repeats getting attached. I can’t see you as just an escort anymore.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. You’ve given me my freedom back, and I can’t thank you enough. All I can try to do is return the favor.
-Feyre
What does she mean, she can’t see me as just an escort anymore? Does she have feelings for me? Why the hell did she leave?
And what does that mean, return the favor?
Remembering the papers in the envelope, I pick them up and scan over pages and pages of legal documents. It’s only when I get to the very last one and read the handwritten words do I understand.
You’re free.
Holy fuck.
She paid for it.
She paid for Mor’s treatment. All of it. Every last penny.
That’s... she can’t have done that. It would’ve taken me at least two more years to finish paying off the debt.
Holy fuck.
She... I’m free.
The words should be celebrated, written on a cake. They should be shouted off the rooftops at two in the morning with a big smile and a glass of champagne.
But where the joy and excitement should lie is just a pit of sadness and confusion.
Why’d she leave? She should’ve just told me this in person. Especially if she has feelings for me.
Hell, she should’ve known that I... I don’t see her as just a client, either. I don’t know when exactly--maybe ever since that first night--but I haven’t for a while.
She’s gone, and there’s no way to get her back. She’s given me this incredible gift and disappeared before I can even thank her.
But despite all the confusion and frustration and helplessness is one undeniable emotion: resolve.
I want her. I want her to be mine without either of us owing each other a thing. I want her to know I care about her, too.
I want her back, and I’m going to go get her.
