fun etrii facts: her carbuncle, Mimo, is a creature of many mysteries. It's responsive to her emotions, and may become particularly volatile when she's angry or upset. it may or may not have accidentally developed sentience. some of her friends swear that it has upon occasion flashed a full set of human teeth at them, though etrii herself has never witnessed this. she still does not fully understand why mimo can do half of the things it can do. mimo's arcanima glyph is also extremely difficult to replicate, on account of the decades it took to develop having introduced several load-bearing errors. if the lines aren't squiggled exactly right it will not work. it's a mess. but it's her mess.

Does Iverelle's voidsent have a name? Why did she decide to become a Reaper?

Well hello. A treat for me this fine day. Ahem:

1: Iverelle’s voidsent DOES have a name, I just haven’t settled on one yet—perhaps Nimue after the lady of the lake(or in that same vein Viviane), but I’m not sure yet! I do know that she’s fem in presentation, however, and has a personality even more obnoxious than Iverelle: While Iverelle is generally very teasing and lighthearted in her manner of acting, her voidsent is entirely… serious about it. She’s judgmental and rude and snarky and allllll those things n more! Yay!

2: this actually will contain spoilers for dark knight 50 quest, so I’ll put it under the read more :>

Following Ysayle’s death, Iverelle had almost immediately taken up the sword and began working underneath “Fray,” though shortly after the temple knight slaughter, she found herself far too disgusted to embrace her inner darkness after it. This pattern continues for a while, with Iverelle, any time her stress and anger grows to be too much, going over to Fray for guidance. Immediately after the revelation of Fray being Esteem and this delusion being her own inner desire, she was all but broken.

Safe to say, Esteem didn’t go quietly. Deep within her they resided, where they constantly whispered about Iverelle’s lack of strength—clearly still vying for a chance to be the one to rule. When confronted by the Lemures for the first time, Iverelle’s choice was mostly guided by impulse, and a desire to shut Esteem up for good. She accepted Drusilla’s teaching mostly because she decided, “ah, a voidsent yelling at me will forever be better than my own evil self! :)”

Her and Nimue/Viviane have a very symbiotic relationship. The voidsent feeds off of Esteem’s anger and rage, but in return that natural darkness that she brings keeps Esteem still more than present. It effectively balances out, however, numbing Iverelle to more minor things that would’ve once caused her to blow up, keeping her much more chill.

There’s also a deep desire to prove to several people from her past that she’s actually not weak and she doesn’t JUST need magic to be strong—she thinks it’s Pretty Cool that she’s swinging around a scythe with a voidsent and nobody can take that from her.

(And finally, now at 90 reaper? Her and her voidsent are actually very close and even consider each other friends. Esteem still festers within, but her voidsent who I think I will now call Viviane yes it works, Viviane keeps esteem quiet, and has no desire to really usurp Iverelle. She’s content to travel the world with her, and after The Instance Of All Time, Viviane felt a genuine desire to protect Iverelle. She’s still an asshole and has probably tried to convince Iverelle to read etrii’s diary and/or tried to make Little Guy sad, but she’s nice to Iverelle and we can agree Iverelle needs that)
