Ok ok ok so a few days ago I was looking on Reddit and one of your quotes stood out to me. It was "Fukurodani is Karasuno's future" and for some reason that's just sticking to me and I can't let it go and I think that's a amazing topic to discuss

I mean honestly I think that's why Fukurodani is so important, they're like a friendly role model for Karasuno. just like every other team at the Tokyo training camps sort of inadvertently gave karasuno their power ups (stronger spikes from ubugawa, syncro attacks from shinzen, the pipe attack from nekoma) fukurodani gives them the blueprint for what a complete, Nationally ranked volleyball team looks like.

and mainly it requires a lot of selflessness. like especially during the "return of the King" arc, when they have come together and learn to communicate after kageyama snaps at noya and asahi. and it's difficult. sometimes people say things that hurt your feelings. but a true team will put those feelings aside and really listen to what their team needs from them.

and like tbh the bokuto and hinata parallels are obvious, but the effect they have on their team is similar too. like since bokuto is such a target, a lot of attention is directed at him, freeing up fukurodani's other spikers, just like hinata does as a decoy. the biggest difference is that fukurodani is used to bokuto being out of commission. which. could have come in handy during the kamomedai match

tbh fukurodani is a weird team bc they are not set up as antagonists (like oikawa and ushijima) or have a history with the team (like date tech and nekoma) and they dont have an obvious rival like miya atsumu or hoshiumi either. if anything hinata and kags just both admire bokuto and akaashi a lot, and while a match between them would be fun, I don't see it has having the emotional stakes that like the Battle at the Garbage Heap and other rival teams had.

so yeah I feel like I have said a lot of this before, but I think the take away from fukurodani is to see what karasuno could be with a fully in sync power couple (bokuto/akaashi, hinata/kageyama) and with a fully developed team supporting them

It may have only been a week but I’m missing my home-on-wheels.
