Tea is certainly a healthy drink. Almost half of the world drink tea daily, as a lifestyle or looking for a result in improving their well-being. I don’t know exactly what has transpired to enact this transformation. I can’t see the future, can’t know if it is temporary or permanent. As an experiment, I turned towards a favorite sheng… the 2019 moon princess from @crimsonlotustea “This’ll fix it” I said to myself. Was it delicious? An exceptional session? Yes it was. Did it remove my craving for shu? No it did not. Pictured here is pretty girls from @white2tea but I’ve been digging into my shu stash at an alarming and unpostable rate. Dark, thicc, pungent. These are examples of words that float through my mind and are most associated with my cravings. A while back I made this big green gaiwan. Almost 200ml. This is my preferred method. I don’t fill it all the way, but I like the space it allows for the dark beauties to unfurl. ——————————————- I like some earthy liquor I like it sweet and bitter I like to watch my leaves steep like a baby sitter I’m like a cat on cat nip - crazy critter -Justin Other, Daily Sipper . . . . . . #shu #shou #shoupuerh #shupuerhtea #shupuer #white2tea #crimsonlotustea #puerhtea #puerh #puerhaddict #teaaddict #teajunkie #puertea #ilovetea #tealeaf #dryleaf #cameliasinensis #chinesetea #justinotherteablog #teaporn #teapic #teaobsessed #teamoment #teamoments (at ShuLove) https://www.instagram.com/justinotherteablog/p/CZSQsxaP3Fv/?utm_medium=tumblr

Quem gostar do assunto vale pesquisar. Nosso intestino tem grande ligação com nosso #cérebro e o desequilíbrio da microbiota tem papel relevante em nossa saúde e até em nosso comportamento. @chloegmoretz's #favoritedrink is #Tea.So, what is it? This word is a variation of "lu cha"(#路茶 )in mandarin. In min dialet,it's written Të(which probably derivated the english word). The plant mainly used in all teas is #CameliaSinensis. Its main #activeSubstance is the #theophylline (which according to my #ShiatsuMaster , #AntoineStauder ,means "Friend of God" _a true correlation of the wonderful effects on human brain). No,tea isn't an #hallucinogen (despite, like its #methylxanthine 's cousin, the #caffeine ,which is present in #Coffe ,aka #CoffeaArabica ,can cause insomnia if it's drunk at night),but this #naturalsubstance can increase the oxigenation of the brain and decrease chollesterol on your blood.(which can make your brain works better). In terms of #TraditionalChineseMedicine ,this herb can help your digestive process.Do you know when you feel so sick that you got the sensation of having a TOWEL inside your belly?Yeap..that's #DAMPNESS. Often caused by #dairy and meat(speacially from bovine origin). That's why the sweet #ChloeGraceMoretz (#科洛莫瑞兹 )is feelling so good(now she substituted meat for fish). Do you hear about @emperorscollege?They are a excellent instituition in terms of #ChineseHerbology _and there are so many advisors up there to orientate you on #ChineseDiet . Having said that my 1st #therapeuticexperience with tea was in 2004 ,after i was recovering from a #PleuralEffusion . I was drinking a combination of tea, cinnamon, clove, cardamom and ginger mixed with milk( AKA in #Ayurved as #Chai). After some months i started to drink it without milk(to avoid dairy). So my #phytotherapy master, #PauloAmerico (@fitoterapiachinesa)and another great herbologist, Lee( the owner of @spapirenopolisnatural),said to me:"This combination isn't ok to you because your lack of "BASIS 'YIN'".And me:"What?!I'm felling great...i just having a LITTLE #insomnia ". Well...little?I was just sleeping 3 hours a day.haha! And it mostly the reason i got impregnated @luh_paztavares' mother in the end of this year.#WonderfulBlessing. Anyway :#NaturalTherapy are cool, but always consult an specislist on the area. In AAAOM(www.aaaomonline.org) you'll find it. Everyone knows that drinks such as Green tea and caffeine are highly recommended when we start a slimming diet due to the power, they have to eliminate fats by accelerating metabolism. These beverages have been so successful that countless products containing them have been put on the market. TASTING BATTLE!!! : New Vithanakande Ceylon Tea
Tumblr media
Okay so New Vithanakande Ceylon is one of my all time favorite black teas. I normally purchase the tea from Canada based retailer Capital Tea. However my stock was running dangerously low and they were unfortunately out of stock, and so while searching the selection on Camellia Sinensis I noticed they too carried the tea and was in stock. I purchased a 50g bag along with some other iced teas to compare the quality, and to my surprise the 50g I received was clearly a totally different grade compared to Capital Tea’s. And so the only thing you can possibly do when you run into this situation is... taste battle them against each other.
Tumblr media
The Capital Tea Ceylon is a Broken Orange Pekoe grade with a charcoal black color, with no golden tips or downy.
Tumblr media
However as you can clearly see the Camellia Sinensis version while still a Broken Orange Pekoe grade has obvious golden tips throughout the tea and is slightly lighter in color. Their site does not specify a grade but if I had to guess I’d call it a GBOP (Golden Broken Orange Pekoe) due to the clear presence of golden tips, but not so many tips to call it tippy.
Tumblr media
In color as well you can see both teas are similar (Capital Tea on the right, Camellia Sinensis on the left). Now when in comes to flavor, the teas were very different in certain aspects yet similar in others.
Capital Tea New Vithanakande
The dry leaf smelt of dry falls leaves with a hint of baked potato, which transitioned into more of a mellow vegetal flavor on the end with strong hints of black cherry, a mellow floral scent and malty.
The flavor of the tea showed off the strong black cherry flavor noted in the wet aroma, very malty, slightly floral and what appeared to be a background note of sweet potato. The tea also had a very dry mouth feel and medium astringency.
Camellia Sinensis New Vithanakande
Very similar aroma on the dry lead as the Capital Tea version, but with an added woodsy note. The wet leaf still had the malty notes, but the cherry was more of a dried cherry aroma, sweeter with a mellow fruitiness.
The brewed tea was actually much more floral, with was seemed to be a rosey tone. It was malty but much more mellow with a balanced dried cherry taste with a lovely added sweetness.
Now in my opinion, there was not clear cut winner here on taste. Both versions spoke to me on different levels and satisfied me in different ways. The Capital Tea version is something I would want first things in the morning, if I were craving a strong, robust black tea. The Camellia Sinensis version is more something I would want later in the evening, if I were craving a black tea that is still robust, but sweeter and a bit more mellow.
In the end I think I’m going to keep both versions in my personal collection.
