Note: Inspired by this prompt list and this scene from 10x18 (which, coincidentally, I had just watched when finishing this.)

‘Do any of the clothes you’re wearing belong to you?’ Daniel asked.

‘Why don’t you come over here and find out?’ Cam replied, teasingly. ‘Doctor..’

‘Pulling rank on me, are you, lieutenant?’

‘Nope! Just you.’ Cam said, before he grabbed Daniel by his jacket lapels and dragged him so that he was inches away.

‘Hello, handsome.’ Daniel murmured. ‘Kiss me?’

‘Doctor’s orders?’ Cam asked, tilting his head up slightly.

‘If you like.’ Daniel replied, opting to kiss Cam.

Daniel’s kiss was heated, and as Cam reciprocated - dropping his hand from Daniel’s lapels to his back - he found himself being pressed backwards against the wall of the elevator. Unfortunately, just as his other hand moved up and found its way into Daniel’s hair, he hit the button that caused the elevator doors to open.

‘Really, boys?’ Vala called out as the doors opened, raising an eyebrow. ‘Without me?’

Set somewhere in a Stargate Atlantis Season 4 alternate universe, Daniel ends up on Atlantis under Sam's leadership. We get some pretty typical Daniel stuff, but there are also some surprises. We get to see a depth of Sam's character not previously seen. Jack's influence on them both becomes more and more obvious as time goes on. With the help of Pegasus flora and, maybe even a nudge from Atlantis herself, Sam and Daniel find that maybe being more than friends isn't a terrible thing at all.

  Note: There is absolutely no non-con/dub-con in this piece. That's the sex pollen twist.

alright hot take time

I don't like season 9 of sg1 and I feel like the ori aren't plot necessary

I understand why o'neill disappeared to DC, rda quit to be a dad and I absolutely respect that and love that for him. cam Mitchell is a little obnoxious, but I can live with him and he has a complex backstory. and Sam x jack is VERY heavily implied and I love that for them.

I just really don't like the Ori. it doesn't feel like the natural progression of the series, and it seems like they just wanted to replace the goa'uld instead of exploring how the galaxy is dealing with their [goa'uld] defeat. all-powerful, worship-fuelled zealot Ancients? ehhhh not feeling it. I'm still watching the last two seasons, but between this and the oddly excessive amounts of recap episodes I'm standing firm with my "atlantis is my favourite" stance.

I almost wish I could un-watch the handful of season 9 episodes, and you can tell that they wanted to and really should've ended at s7 or 8 (I do like the defeat of anubis, and the character development of the sg1 team in s8, so we could keep that one). the one thing I did like was the Vala arc, she was ✨️fun✨️ and her interactions with Daniel were hilarious. she couldn't be trusted to tell you earth only has one moon, but she was fun about it. but the addition of the ori and this new name for the Ancients/Lanteans/"Altreans", it's just confusing.

if anyone disagrees, please reblog/reply I'd gladly hear your take on this. my mum, who I watch stargate with, think that it's the "natural opposite to the Ancients", that theyre "too perfect and science-driven", and there had to be this religious side to them because that's how it is for humans. I disagree. I think that the Ancients are far from perfect, that half of the stuff that sgc crews go through are because of the Ancients' mess-ups, and Oma and that one lady in atlantis that john was with who think that they should be allowed to help humans are enough opposition.

Racing Hearts. Which is my Cam/Vala/Daniel fic and it's all outside POV from Cam's family and I jsut had so much fun writing it and I really think I did well with Cam's family and having them all be different and it was so fun.

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?

Colorado Blue Eyes was more work than I had been expecting, esp since I basically had an idea and wrote it in like .02 seconds and its a wild wild west au where the entire story unfolds with this background of a shootout and more and more is reveleaed and it was difficult because of rodneys circumstances and making it work was hard and also made me feel so bad for him because in my mind, in the fic, theyre all like 30ish or something. they're young.

🌿how does creating make you feel?

it makes me feel amazing!! anytime i do something and then i go back and reread it i always have a moment of 'holy shit, i did that. that was me' especially if there's a line i really like. or a scene i think that came out really well and then on a reread x amount of time later it doesnt even feel like me anymore? its like im reading something by someone else and ITS SO GOOD. and then i have that moment of oh holy shit thats me

the agenda is that I ship them lol

my main SG-1 ship is JD, but after reading Still Life With Cliche by Komos (it's AMTDI SamxDaniel & JackxDaniel, so be warned) it really made me Think Things.

granted, the pairing itself already had great potential in my books. it's less flashy than all the other big Stargate ships, but sometimes I like a nice, quiet little partnership between kindred spirits, you know?

I see it more as a far-into-the-future OldMance thing, maybe when they're both ushering in new blood for the program. (and maybe with Jack out of the picture, because he's always going to be The Elephant Under the Mountain).

SG-1 has always been a little more fucked up for me than SGA in terms of psychosexual dynamics (save for Teal'c, which is largely the writers' fault, tbh, and is definitely surely not at all a racially motivated writing choice because seriously, have you seen Christopher Judge??) but yeah. let's just chalk it up to our favorite Jaffa not touching the Humans Are Weird About Sex issue with a ten-foot pole. basically, I have some headcanons about the whole group (with Cam and Vala) being this weird poly thing that is too convoluted to even think about much less discuss among themselves.

And in the middle of all that tangled-up mess I see Sam and Daniel as some kind of oasis. maybe it started as them sizing the other up in relation to their own UST with Jack, then the genuine friendship and unconditional trust, then the let's-try-it-what-can-go-wrong-ok-so-i-love-you-but-there's-still-the-Jack-thing, then it develops into a deep understanding and affection and faith in each other that is valid as a platonic lifelong friendship but also sounds sweet if at the end of the road, they find their way back to each other. quiet and peaceful. no more unspoken baggage. just love.

Stargate SG1 is a weird show, tbh. The movie was awesome, and I know the show is based on god-like aliens just like the movie was, but in the TV show that’s my absolute least favorite storyline. I find it so boring. And it’s also just weird that this whole stargate thing and traveling to different worlds is like, all because of some alien religious garbage. I like the eisodes that are like weird and kinda paranormal: the x-filesy stuff. Also filler episodes like when Cam took Vala with him to his highschool reunion

For me it's probably Daniel x Cam. Personally Vala is too toxic and abrasive for Daniel. A relationship where you're always fighting and at odds is very toxic and unhealthy, it is not passionate.

I didn’t wanna get invested but now I can’t stop thinking about how Cam x Vala is like the inverse John x Aeryn:

Aeryn Sun and Cam Mitchell: Career soldiers who live to be pilots and go on missions. Service, advancement, being part of a team, seeing the universe. This is what matters to them. Cam is less serious than Aeryn but he’s wound pretty tight, i.e. that episode where everyone is supposed to go to the cabin for a weekend but only Landry and Mitchell make it and Mitchell is lowkey writhing the whole time because he’s stuck at a cabin while they’re getting updates about the mission that’s holding up the rest of the team. When the murder bears show up he’s literally relieved because playing chess and drinking beer with Landry was absolute torture and he wants to have a problem to solve with his team. This is a total Aeryn Sun thing. They would get along.

John Crichton and Vala Mal Doran: Goofballs. Silly but clever, good at coming up with Plans(tm) that everyone else roundly mocks, even though they are actually pretty good at what they do. The outsiders on the team, the “aliens” who don’t always understand the weird culture they find themselves a part of. They both routinely uses humor as a coping mechanism. Just want to be loved. They have a lot of energy and optimism. Each, in different ways, are like the cute golden retriever puppies that others scoff at but you’d have to be heartless not to grow fond of them eventually. They watch a lot of TV and make a lot of references, though for Vala it’s her way of learning Earth culture and John grew up with it.

Cue Cam and Aeryn falling in love with Vala and John over the course of respective adventures even though at first all they do is stare at them in disbelief and bemused wonder.

I am now convinced that Cam can’t act on it in SG-1 canon only because he sees that Vala is misguidedly obsessed with Daniel and he has no intention of getting in the middle of that, plus he’s been given command of SG-1 so having a relationship with a team member would go against protocol and he’s nothing if not a good officer. It has nothing to do with the Stargate writers and their Daniel x Vala agenda, oh no....

What made you ship it?

Honestly, this is a ‘ship them in hindsight’ kinda situation? I never had strong feelings about them when I first watched the show, but now...? idk but I can very much see it. They have Chemistry.

You can really tell that the actors had worked together in the past, and were really comfortable with each other—it definitely comes through in their interactions. 

What are your favorite things about the ship?

Like I said, it’s the Chemistry. The Vibe. Also the show shipteased them in a weird way. Like despite the fact that Vala/Daniel was always where things were going, we still got episodes like Memento Mori and Bounty? Which sure was an interesting choice for the writers to make, but ya know.

But anyways, persistent shipteasing does not a good ship make, so like I said, I’m really chalking this one up to Ben Browder and Claudia Black. They have an electricity in their interactions that makes the dynamic really fun. 

Speaking of their dynamic, there’s a really fun push and pull there, because Cam is this air force colonel who not only trying his hardest to be professional, but he feels like he has to prove himself in this position. And she’s an unexpected element that is very much not making that easier 😅But then at the same time they’re both very performative, but in opposite ways, and it’s honestly very interesting.

(Also her delivery of “One must always be prepared to liberate treasure, Cameron.” Excellent. 10/10)

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

It’s been awhile since I’ve watched the later seasons of SG-1, but I ship them more than I ship Daniel/Vala. Though I have no idea whether that’s popular or unpopular 😂
