The Beach Boys, 1962
From left to right: Mike Love, Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, and early member David Marks. Marks was a neighbor of the Wilsons who sang and played guitar with the group from 1962-63. He appeared on the early releases, after the departure of Al Jardine. But Marks left after conflicts with Murry Wilson, the band’s first manager and Brian, Carl, and Dennis' father; the group ended up dismissing Murry as their manager in early 1964 due to his overbearing and disruptive presence at the group's recording sessions.

So I have a bit of a cold* and other than being a bit tired and run down feeling, the main symptom is my voice is very hoarse. My throat isn't even that sore, but compared to my usual customer service voice at work every single time I answer the phone today the person is like "TJ??? Is that you???? I thought it was an imposter!" On the plus side I can now sing Bonnie Tyler songs - wait interrupting myself because I just tried to sing and I think I can sing lower than normal??? Will test this and update the post *for realsies just a cold, my dad had it last week

"Take It to the Limit" is a song by the Eagles from their fourth album One of These Nights (1975). The single climbed to #4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It was sung by bassist Randy Meisner, which was notable because it was the first A-side single released by the group on which neither Don Henley and Glenn Frey sang lead.
The song was written mostly by Meisner.  He said he wrote the first few lines one night while playing an acoustic guitar after returning from the Troubadour; however he was not able to finish the song by the time they were close to recording it, and Frey and Henley then helped him with the lyrics. On the meaning of the song, Meisner said in the documentary History of the Eagles: "The line 'take it to the limit' was to keep trying before you reach a point in your life where you feel you've done everything and seen everything, sort of feeling, you know, part of getting old."
Meisner's performance of the song was very popular with the audience in Eagles concerts, particularly when he would hit the high notes; but performing it on tour night after night (and sometimes being sick, or not taking good care of his voice) made it difficult to perform. Some nights he would refuse and his reluctance became a big issue between he and Glenn Frey. Eventually it was one of the reasons he would quit the band, in 1977. He was replaced by Timothy B. Schmit (coincidentally, the same bassist who had replaced him in Poco years earlier). Schmit's vocal range was similar to Meisner's and he was able to take over singing "Take it to the Limit" in concert.

love my voice changing, very gender, very cool! but it absolutely sucks that i have to relearn how to sing along to all my favourite songs from scratch because now i cant hit my usual high notes anymore and i'm not used to singing low at all so it's very awkward! And it keeps changing too! can't wait for my voice to settle in somewhere so i can actually find the right range and keep it :/
