I wanted to include this green patterned trunk in this Victorian series because not only does it add another layer of interest mimicking the "cluttered" interiors of the Industrial Revolution, but it reminds me of what Victorian wallpaper would have looked like. (Anybody pick up on that? 😁) This color of green was extremely popular in the 1800s, and also extremely poisonous, containing arsenic that's now attributed to countless deaths. ☠ (The trunk is a few decades more modern.) The DRESS on the other hand is completely safe. A rare cotton and lace piece with alternating blue and white subtle stripes.
