I love calico critters/sylvanian families but i hate that the newer sets are losing their charm. For example the new Doctor's set, is nothing compared to the country clinic. I feel as if newer sets are losing and lacking the charm the older sets had. Such as the new hamburger wagon and the old hamburger wagon. I feel as if tho there is no longer an attention to detail, and less genuine. I understand it is a kids toy but kids loved the older sets! My little sister agrees with me (9 yrs) and I feel as if tho also alot of the new sets are very one dimensional, such as the mermaid set. I however absolutely love the new families, seals, reindeer, penguin, chefs kiss no criticism. Anyway thats my rant for the year

I agree, also like them making the sets a little more childish. Like the new nursery bus, and new supermarket set. The gelato shop set has like 3 main pieces. Compared to older sets is crazy.

I just think the older sets were so much cute and was appealing to to both children and collectors. Even the new hamburger trailer just comes off a bit different. The older sets were still so cute and had a lot of detail, I love the new family’s tho!

So in remembrance i will be including photos of older sets that I adore 💔

Don't get me wrong, I love Calico Critters babies, they are incredibly cute, but too many families nowadays only include the sister figure and a baby or even just two babies. And morever they usually have the same price of a standard family (Mother+Father+Sister+Brother)...

Is shrinkinflation affecting Calico Critters as well 😅?

yeah they're tossing the brothers and then splitting families into 3 sets :( There must be an increase in baby figure sales or something so they're just doubling down on it...but I have a feeling it's mainly the blind bags that are popular cause it's the cheapest/ only option people can afford lol A lot of the family sets from like 2015-2019 had a brother figure in the UK/JP versions but not in the US version. But now all versions for most families are missing one and it makes me sad

I took the time to restore that little lady's face It's much but she looks better ! Her nose is still a little pale but that's a choice I made, I think she looks super cute like this
