It seemed only logical that Louis introduce himself, but the handsome stranger wasn’t paying him any attention at all, completely engrossed in the book he was holding in his lap. And, hang on – that was his book.

Louis is an author, heading out on his first promotional tour. On the plane, he ends up sitting next to a gorgeous stranger who is reading his book.

He’s sitting on his bed, legs straight out in front of him, back propped up against the headboard and some fluffed-up pillows and his MacBook is resting on his thighs. His jittery fingers drum lightly on the edge of the keyboard as he stares at the tiny digital clock in the top right hand corner of the screen, willing the seconds to tick by faster. He wants to get into this and get it over with in equal measures.

oh how i hate this red string of fate by CalamityK (13k): Harry thought being able to see people’s strings die would be the worst thing about his gift, until at twenty-two he finally met the other end of his own. Or that soulmate AU where Harry can see the red strings of fate that tie everyone together.

i’ll take your pain by suspendrs (2k): It’s kind of romantic when Harry thinks about it, feeling all the pain of the person he’s supposed to love for the rest of his life. Sure, it’s rather inconvenient when he’s in class and his soulmate gets kicked in the balls, or when he’s sleeping and his soulmate knocks his head or his knee off something. It’d be nice if the function helped them to find each other, but Harry supposes he can live with knowing that they’re destined to run into each other someday. Or, soulmates have the ability to feel each other’s pain, and Harry finds his after getting his arse waxed. (Or, the soulmate au crack fic I can’t believe I actually wrote.)
