Must-Have Tools for Every Baker: Essential Cake Decorating Kits
As we can see, nowadays, everyone is talking about the basics of cake and the essential cake decorating tools required to enhance your cake decorating skills and make the perfect stunning cakes using the right ingredients. Having the right tools helps to make delicious cakes with the perfect designs and patterns. There are a lot of gadgets and tools in the market that you spend your money on, but they won’t help you make these beautiful cakes. From turntables to cake scrapers, these tools are like magic wands that help you create beautiful cakes. So, let's dive in and discover how these tools can help you become a cake decorating pro! Let’s focus on the essentials required to create amazing cakes.
Essential Cake Decorating Tools
Turntable
The turntable is the first and most important tool among cake decorating tools. This is one of the biggest game changers in the decorating. There are a lot of turntables in the market, so depending on how much you are decorating the cakes will help to determine the type of turntable you should buy. If you make the birthday cake occasionally, you should purchase something less expensive. If you make the cakes annually, then you can buy the one that is a bit costly. A turntable has two separate pieces so the top spins very nicely. The base is a bit heavy mostly made of iron so it does not move while the top moves. There are some turntables available on the market that are made of plastic, but the other ones are more durable.
Cake Scrapper
Another must-have tool for cake decorating is the cake scraper.  A cake scrapper is a tool that is used to smoothen the sides of the cake. Over the years, many variations based on the height, material, and thickness of scrappers have come into the market, but are not all equal. The superior quality of all the scrappers is in weight and thickness. But, it is sometimes not good for the bigger cakes because it has textures on all sides. The scraper must be thin and light so that it is easily handled and you can keep all the scrapers with separate textures in the form of a set. It is essential for birthday cakes, wedding cakes and more!
One of the best things you hear from the customers who have bought and used the tools from RFAQK is that they are satisfied with the high quality and durability of the tools, which makes a major difference in their decorating.
Icing Spatulas
Everyone needs a good set of icing spatulas along with the scrapers and turntables, one straight and the other curved. The straight spatula is mostly preferred by customers for the sides of the cake while the curvy one is preferred for the top. Spatulas must have the right length, which is essential while using it to smoothen the frosting because some blades are short, making it difficult to frost the sides of the cakes. Some blades are very long, which makes it hard to control the spatula while decorating.
Acrylic Disk
Another tool that will change the cake decoration game is the acrylic disk, which helps get the sharp edges and straight sides without any hassle. We provide an ebook along with a pack or set of cake decorating tools so that customers can easily understand how to use these tools in cake decorating.
Quality Cake Pans
Another important thing we should invest the money in is good quality cake pans, which are made to evenly distribute the heat in the pan to make a perfectly baked cake. This means we will get an even cake rather than one with uneven sides while baking.
Cake Leveler
A cake leveler is a tool that is used to level the sides and top of the cake. Each side has numbers on it that are used to line up the wire to level the cake perfectly. This tool can be used by anyone whether he is a beginner or a professional baker.
Cake Lifter
Have you ever wondered, how we love the cakes from the turntables to the beautiful cake stand where we want to present? This tool is called a cake lifter and is as simple as any other tool we provide at RFAQK. The cake lifter is a bit heavy but supports your cake nicely. Just make sure you don’t only rely on the cake lifter, you also need to get it out through your hand to support the cake. Stacking all the pieces of cake is not a problem now when you have the cake lifter in your baking space.
Cake Boards
Cake boards are something you can easily find in the local craft stores but if they are not of good quality, don’t compromise on them. They come with a pre-cut under the cake, which will help you easily slide the cake lifter and move the cake from the cake board.
Parchment Paper
You should buy parchment paper to give a very professional look to your cakes and using a combination of cooking spray and parchment paper will help the cake to come out easily. Pre-cut parchment rounds are also available, and you can trace the pans on parchment paper and cut out each circle. Whichever way you decide to go, you must make sure that you spray the pans with nonstick spray, place the parchment paper at the bottom of the pan, and then respray the paper.
We understand the importance of having reliable tools that make a tangible difference in your cake decorating experience. Our satisfied customers attest to the high quality and durability of our products, which have revolutionized their decorating endeavors. Whether you're a novice baker or a seasoned professional, our cake decorating kits provide everything you need to unleash your creativity and achieve bakery-worthy results. We provide many cake decorating kits, with various pieces available to meet the customer's needs. So, why wait? Elevate your baking game today with RFAQK's essential cake decorating tools and embark on a journey of baking excellence.

For reasons I don't remotely know, November 26th is National Cake Day in the US. I did look it up, thinking there was some particular reason why November 26, but I didn't find anything. Maybe it was just chosen arbitrarily.
If you were to look for the search string "barbie cake" or "cake barbie", the majority of what comes up is bakeries offering various Barbie-themed offerings, including the rather racy classic, the drunk Barbie cake, and tutorials on how to make your own Barbie skirt cake.
There is in fact a Mattel version of the Barbie skirt cake - 1999's Celebration Cake Barbie.
youtube
This did not feature any actual cake, but a plastic three-tiered faux-cake, as well as actual frosting with which to decorate it. I'm not sure how I feel about encouraging children to squirt frosting onto a plastic toy and then eat it, both for hygiene reasons and mess reasons. I can only imagine what a sticky, ant-ridden mess these would soon become.
Tumblr media
Naturally there have been a few other cake-themed Barbie doll releases - aside from the plethora of cakes that appear in various birthday and wedding dress themed dolls and playsets, there are a number of baking themed Barbies.
Tumblr media
Some representing Barbie as a baker or pastry chef, but some even specifying cakes as a specialty.
Tumblr media
And from various retailers you can get Barbie cake toppers and cake decorating bits and pieces, alongside various other Barbie party paraphernalia. This is one currently for sale at Australian retailer, Big W.

Why do people keep saying that this is a gender reveal party? This is obviously post race in AD, look at Kelly and Penelope's dresses. That's why Max is still in his RBR kit. That's likely just their hotel room which is decorated by hotel staff to congratulate them on the pregnancy.
Max and Kelly often get those kind of decorations in their room when there's a birthday or a Championship won or something.
Tumblr media
And no, I don't think the cake is a gender reveal cake. It's just a cute baby cake.

Birthday boys
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warning: none
characters: jude x mom!reader
summary: when Jude and your baby boy are having a birthday
may contain spelling and translation errors!
The sun had just begun to light up Birmingham when little Benjamin jumped out of bed, his eyes wide with excitement. He already knew that today was a special day —it wasn’t just his birthday, but daddy’s too! He could barely contain his excitement as he prepared to celebrate the big day.
You were already used to Benji’s morning enthusiasm, but today he seemed to be on a whole new level. Even before seven in the morning, the little boy was already in his parents’ room, shaking up the house.
—Daddy, mommy, wake up!
The baby said, jumping on the bed next to you.
Jude, with a sleepy smile, slowly opened his eyes and pulled his son closer, wrapping him in a hug.
—Hey, birthday boy! Good morning! —He said, his voice hoarse with sleep.— How old are you today, huh?
—Two!
Little Bellingham exclaimed, raising two little fingers proudly in the air.
You laughed as you stroked your son's soft curls.
—And how old is daddy today, Ben?
Benji frowned, trying to remember, before speaking excitedly:
—Twenty-one!
—That's right! —Jude replied with a laugh, feigning surprise. —You have a good memory, baby.
The truth was that this day had not been a coincidence. Jude had always dreamed of sharing his birthday with his son. When Benji was about to be born, Jude managed —thanks to a team of doctors and a little bit of luck — to "negotiate" the birth so that it would be on the same day as his birthday. One of those things that only stubborn dad can do.
The shared birthday had become an annual event full of meaning. It was a moment that symbolized the special bond between father and son, and you were always delighted to see the joy in their eyes each year that passed.
—Today is going to be an incredible day! —you said, excited. —We have so many surprises for you two...
Benji could barely contain his curiosity, while Jude, pretending not to know anything, raised an eyebrow with a curious smile.
—Surprises? What are you up to, huh, Y/n?
You shrugged, looking mischievous.
—You'll see.
——
Later that morning, after a lively breakfast —with Benji insisting on eating pancakes with "lots, lots" of fruit and syrup—, you started preparing things for the birthday party.
There were balloons scattered around the house, all in shades of yellow and white, and a table full of sweets and savory snacks. In the center of the table, two cakes: a large one, covered in the colors of England for Jude, and a smaller cake, with drawings of dinosaurs, everything Benjamin loved.
—Look at that! —He pointed to the cakes as he helped put up the decorations. —Who made these amazing cakes?
—Mommy!
The little boy replied, still with a bit of pancake syrup on his chin.
You laughed.
—Well, I helped choose the theme, but we have to thank grandma Adèle for the cake, and grandma Denise for the decorations!
The guests started arriving late in the morning. The house was full of family and friends. Your parents, came from Manchester for the occasion, as did Keegan, your younger brother, who brought gifts and a lot of energy, especially to entertain his nephew.
—Happy birthday, champ!
Keegan said, lifting Benji in the air and spinning him around while the boy laughed out loud.
Jobe, Jude's younger brother, also arrived excited, bringing gifts and greeting everyone with a warm hug.
—Looks like the party's already started, huh? —Jobe said in his thick English accent, handing Jude a large, wrapped box. —I just hope you're not too old to enjoy it, Jude.
Jude laughed, hugging his brother.
—I still have energy, don't worry.
While everyone was busy with the party preparations, father and son disappeared for a moment, going to the backyard. Jude had promised his baby something special for that birthday: a little soccer match between the two of them. Benjamin already had his own Real Madrid kit, a miniature version of his father's uniform, and was more than ready to play.
—Go, Ben! Show daddy how you kick!
Jude encouraged his baby.
He kicked the ball hard, determined, despite his short steps. The ball rolled a few meters and Jude made a big show of pretending it had been an unbeatable kick. He threw himself to the ground dramatically, as if he had been defeated by a great kick.
—Bellingham’s goal!!!!
The boy shouted, laughing as he got up and ran to Benji, lifting him in the air as if he had just scored the most important goal in the world.
The scene made you smile from the balcony, watching the two play. For you, these moments were the most precious —seeing Jude and Benjamin together, making memories that would last forever.
After the little soccer game, everyone went back inside, where the party was already in full swing. The boys were the center of attention, with everyone taking pictures and singing happy birthday.
—Time to open the presents!
Someone shouted, and Benji ran to the pile of colorful packages.
Your husband, smiling, approached you, wrapping you in a hug from behind as you watched your son tear through the wrapping paper with excitement.
—You did everything perfectly, babe.
He whispered in your ear.
You smiled, leaning back against his chest.
—I just wanted you two to have the best birthday possible.
—Mission accomplished.
He kissed the top of your head.
As the afternoon wore on, the house grew more and more lively. Benjamin ran around with his new toys, while Jude spent time chatting with friends and family. The atmosphere was one of pure happiness, a simple party, but full of love.
At the end of the day, when night fell and the guests began to say goodbye, you finally had a moment to rest. Sitting on the couch, with your son asleep between you, wrapped in blankets after a day full of emotions, you looked at each other with satisfied smiles.
—It was quite a day.
Jude commented, looking at your sleeping son.
—Yes, it was. —You replied, holding his big hand. —And I couldn’t be happier to share this day with you two.
Jude looked at you, his eyes shining with gratitude.
—You’re amazing, Y/n. Thank you for everything.
You smiled, caressing his hand.
—Always, Jude. Always.

Save the Date || Closed RP @80s-pizza-party
With the hustle and bustle of the holidays over and done with, the new year in the Pizzaplex settled into much the same pattern as the one before it. True, some things had certainly changed in twelve months. The player wasn't coming around much anymore, not even to play Ruin, so Vanessa didn't have much in the way of glitch reports to file; she ended up enrolling in a couple of recreational classes taught by a sprite-based organization at the Gray Market, the same ones who put together things like the winter carnival and fall festival, and now she spent two evenings a week studying botany and art history. Speaking of classes, the kids still had their weekday morning lessons, though sign language was now mixed in with Reading Club and Science Club -- aka gathering together to chip away at a chapter book and doing some basic kid-friendly experiments. Meanwhile, the Glamrocks got together for jam sessions fairly often, and Monty often pounded away at his drum kit even when everyone else wasn't present.
In the midst of all this, Freddy and Bonnie sat down and began planning their wedding. Weekday mornings when the kids were in class had always been their time to get together, to listen to music, dance, or simply talk, but now they spent many of these meetings figuring out the details of the ceremony.
Pretty much all of the major characters of the game would be participating in some way, depending on their area of expertise. Chica was in charge of catering and baking the cake, Roxy would take care of hair and makeup for those who needed it, Eclipse would deal with all wardrobe-related concerns. Monty and Gregory would be the best men, while Cassie and Cassidy were the ring bearer and flower girl, respectively. DJ would provide music for the ceremony and reception. Sun was assigned to decorations, Moon was the bouncer (and also organizing a sleepover for the children on the night of the big day, so that Bonnie and Freddy could spend their first night as a couple together), and Vanessa had offered to do the flower arrangements, although Freddy had also asked her to officiate; she was the only one he could think of to do so.
Around the twentieth of January, after considering and rejecting a Valentine's Day wedding, Freddy and Bonnie finally sent out their "Save the Date" messages. The ceremony would take place on Saturday, the thirteenth of April, just two weeks after Easter. And these messages, the prelude to official invitations, made their way across the Pizzaplex as well as to their neighbors in Help Wanted, following the approximate guest list of the Christmas party.

The Perfect Gift
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis: A surprise birthday party spirals into an intoxicating night of passion. As morning dawns, Lisa’s irresistible charm leaves you yearning for answers... and more.
Word Count:4.5K
Tumblr media
The sun was just starting to set when your parents finally left your apartment, your mom lingering in the doorway as she gave you a final kiss on the cheek. “Are you sure you don’t want to come with us to dinner tonight?” she asked, her tone hopeful yet slightly overbearing.
You smiled, gently steering her towards the elevator. “I’m sure, Mom. You and Dad enjoy your night. I’ll be fine. It’s just another birthday.”
Your dad gave you a knowing look, placing a hand on your shoulder. “You deserve to have some fun tonight. Don’t just stay in and watch TV.”
You rolled your eyes playfully. “I’ll try, Dad.”
After they left, the quiet of your apartment settled in. The day had been filled with warmth and affection, your parents’ presence a comforting reminder of simpler times. Yet now that they were gone, a strange loneliness crept in. You loved your parents, but their visits always left you feeling caught between being a responsible adult and the carefree person you sometimes wished you could still be.
With a sigh, you flopped onto the couch, scrolling through your phone aimlessly. You had a vague idea that your friends were planning something for tonight—they’d been suspiciously quiet all day—but without any concrete plans, you were tempted to just order takeout and call it a night.
But before you could act on that impulse, your phone buzzed with a text from Jisoo.
Jisoo: “Open your door. We’re here!”
You raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. Pushing yourself off the couch, you headed to the door and, with a deep breath, opened it.
Standing in the hallway were your closest friends, their faces lit up with excitement. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and a few others you weren’t expecting, like Chaeyoung and Seulgi. They were holding balloons, a cake, and gift bags, all grinning like they’d just won the lottery.
“Surprise!” they shouted in unison, their voices echoing down the hallway.
Your heart swelled with warmth. “You guys!” You couldn’t help but laugh, feeling a mixture of joy and relief. “I thought you all forgot!”
Jennie stepped forward first, pulling you into a tight hug. “Forget your birthday? Not a chance.”
Rosé handed you a bright pink party hat. “Put this on, birthday girl. We’ve got a whole night planned just for you.”
You took the hat, slipping it on as you gestured them inside. “You guys are the best. I honestly didn’t expect this.”
Jisoo winked at you as she carried in a stack of presents. “That was the point. We wanted to surprise you.”
As they streamed into the living room, your apartment quickly transformed. Jennie connected her phone to the speakers, filling the room with your favorite playlist, while Seulgi and Chaeyoung decorated the space with streamers and banners that read “Happy Birthday!” in big, glittery letters. The cake was placed on the coffee table, surrounded by a sea of colorful gifts.
You couldn’t stop smiling as you watched your friends bring the party to life. It was exactly what you needed—a night of fun and laughter to shake off the day’s lingering melancholy.
— — — — —
The evening began with the usual: drinks were poured, the cake was cut, and presents were opened. Jisoo had gotten you that novel you’d been eyeing for weeks, Rosé had splurged on a luxurious spa kit, and Jennie presented you with a stunning piece of jewelry you’d admired on one of your shopping trips together. Each gift was thoughtful, a reminder of how well your friends knew you.
As the night wore on, the atmosphere grew increasingly relaxed, the buzz from the champagne making everyone a little more talkative, a little more playful. You were in the middle of recounting a funny story from work when Jennie nudged you, a sly smile on her face.
“We’ve got one more surprise for you,” she said, her voice full of mischief.
You looked at her warily, though you couldn’t suppress a grin. “What did you do, Jennie?”
She exchanged a look with Jisoo and Rosé, who were both grinning like they were in on some secret. “You’ll see,” Jennie said, her voice practically dripping with excitement.
Before you could question her further, the music changed. The light, upbeat tunes were replaced by a slow, seductive beat that sent a ripple of anticipation through the room. Your friends exchanged knowing glances, their excitement palpable as they all turned towards the hallway.
Your heart skipped a beat as the lights dimmed, the only illumination now coming from the soft glow of the fairy lights strung around the room. You could barely make out the figure stepping out of the shadows, but as they moved closer, your breath caught in your throat.
The woman who emerged was stunning—tall and lithe, with long, dark hair cascading over her shoulders. She was dressed in a sleek, black outfit that clung to her body in all the right places, accentuating her curves. Her eyes, lined with dark kohl, locked onto yours with an intensity that made your stomach flip.
“Everyone,” Jennie announced with a flourish, “meet Lisa. She’s here to help us celebrate.”
Your eyes widened as you realized what was happening. “No way,” you whispered, your cheeks burning. “Jennie, you didn’t…”
But Jennie just smirked, clearly pleased with herself. “Happy birthday, babe. Enjoy.”
Lisa’s smile was confident, almost predatory as she sauntered towards you, her hips swaying to the rhythm of the music. The air around her seemed to crackle with energy, and you felt an involuntary shiver run down your spine.
“Hey there,” she purred as she approached, her voice low and sultry. “Mind if I join you?”
You were too flustered to form a coherent response, so you simply nodded, feeling like a deer caught in the headlights. Lisa took that as an invitation, settling herself in your lap with a grace that left you breathless. She was warm, her body pressed against yours in a way that made your skin tingle.
Your friends erupted into cheers and catcalls, but all you could focus on was Lisa—her scent, her warmth, the way her eyes seemed to pierce right through you. She started to move, her hips rocking gently, teasingly, as she leaned in close, her breath hot against your ear.
“Happy birthday,” she whispered, her lips brushing against the shell of your ear.
Your breath hitched, and you felt a wave of heat rush through you. You’d never been in a situation like this before—never had someone like Lisa give you this kind of attention. It was overwhelming, arousing, and a little terrifying all at once.
Lisa seemed to sense your nervousness. She pulled back slightly, her gaze softening as she looked into your eyes. “Relax,” she said, her voice gentle. “I’m here to make sure you have a good time.”
You swallowed hard, trying to steady your racing heart. “I… I’ve never done this before,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
Lisa’s smile was reassuring, almost tender as she reached up to cup your cheek. “Don’t worry. Just enjoy yourself.”
She leaned in again, this time capturing your lips in a slow, sensual kiss. The moment her lips touched yours, it was like a spark ignited within you, burning away your hesitation. You kissed her back, your hands instinctively finding their way to her waist, pulling her closer.
Lisa took that as her cue to take things up a notch. She deepened the kiss, her tongue sliding against yours in a way that made your head spin. Her hands roamed over your body, exploring, teasing, sending jolts of pleasure straight to your core.
Your friends were still cheering, but their voices seemed distant, muffled by the pounding of your heart and the rush of blood in your ears. All you could focus on was the feel of Lisa’s body against yours, the way she was grinding against you in slow, deliberate circles, the heat building between you with every passing second.
You were getting lost in the sensation, your mind fogged with desire. You’d had a few drinks, sure, but this intoxication was something else entirely—something fueled by the way Lisa was touching you, kissing you, making you feel like the only person in the room.
Just as you were about to completely surrender to the moment, Jennie’s voice cut through the haze. “Alright, alright, I think we’ve had enough of a show,” she teased, though there was an undeniable edge of excitement in her tone. “We’ll leave you two alone now.”
You blinked, momentarily disoriented as you realized that your friends were starting to gather their things. Jennie, always the ringleader, was shooing everyone towards the door with a grin. “Go on, we’re leaving!”
You barely registered what was happening, still caught up in the haze of arousal that Lisa had stirred in you. “Wait, you guys don’t have to—” you started, but Jisoo cut you off with a knowing smile.
“Trust us, you’ll thank us later,” she said, giving you a wink. “Happy birthday!”
Before you could protest further, they were gone, leaving you alone with Lisa in the dimly lit room. The silence that followed was thick with anticipation, the air between you crackling with electricity.
Lisa slid off your lap, standing in front of you with a sultry smile. “Looks like it’s just us now,” she said, her voice a low, seductive purr that sent shivers down your spine.
You could barely breathe, your heart pounding so hard it felt like it might burst out of your chest. The reality of the situation hit you like a tidal wave—you were alone with Lisa, the gorgeous, confident woman who had just given you the most arousing experience of your life, and now there was nothing stopping you from exploring where this could go.
Lisa didn’t wait for you to respond. She reached out, her fingers grazing your chin as she tilted your head up to look at her. The way her eyes roamed over your face made you feel naked, exposed, and yet undeniably excited.
“Come here,” she whispered, taking your hand and gently pulling you to your feet.
You followed her lead, feeling a strange mix of nervousness and anticipation. As she led you down the hallway towards your bedroom, you couldn’t help but notice how her hips swayed with every step, how the dim lighting highlighted the curves of her body in the most tantalizing way.
When you reached your bedroom, Lisa paused at the door, turning to face you. She let go of your hand and stepped closer, so close that you could feel the heat radiating off her body. Her hand came up to cup your cheek, her thumb brushing lightly over your bottom lip.
“You’re so beautiful,” she murmured, her eyes dark with desire.
The compliment made your breath hitch, and before you could second-guess yourself, you leaned in and kissed her. This time, the kiss was hungrier, more desperate, as if you were trying to convey all the pent-up desire you’d been feeling since the moment she walked into your apartment.
Lisa responded immediately, her arms wrapping around you as she pulled you closer, her body pressing against yours in a way that made your knees weak. The kiss deepened, her tongue tangling with yours, and you felt a low moan escape from deep within your throat.
You barely made it to the bed before the need to touch each other became too overwhelming. Clothes were discarded in a frantic haze, your hands exploring every inch of her body as she did the same to you. Her skin was soft and warm under your fingers, her breath hot against your neck as she kissed and nipped her way down your collarbone.
By the time you were both naked, your body was thrumming with need. Lisa pushed you gently onto the bed, crawling over you with a predatory grace that made your heart race. She hovered over you for a moment, her gaze roaming over your body, her eyes filled with hunger.
“You’re even more gorgeous than I imagined,” she whispered, her voice thick with lust.
You blushed, your hands coming up to grip her hips as she settled herself between your thighs. “Lisa…” you breathed, not even sure what you were asking for.
But she knew. With a wicked smile, she leaned down and captured your lips in another heated kiss, her hands sliding down your body to grip your thighs, spreading them wider. You gasped into her mouth as she rocked her hips against yours, the friction sending sparks of pleasure shooting through your veins.
Lisa kissed her way down your neck, her lips and tongue teasing your skin, making you arch your back and moan her name. Every touch, every kiss, every brush of her fingers against your sensitive skin felt like fire, and you were quickly losing yourself in the sensation.
When she reached your breasts, she took one nipple into her mouth, sucking gently as her hand massaged the other. You cried out, the pleasure so intense it made you dizzy. She switched to the other breast, giving it the same attention, her tongue flicking over your hardened nipple in a way that made you squirm beneath her.
But Lisa wasn’t done with you yet. She kissed her way down your stomach, her hands trailing after her, fingers ghosting over your skin in a way that left you trembling with anticipation. When she reached the apex of your thighs, she paused, looking up at you with a sultry smile.
“Are you ready?” she asked, her voice husky.
You could only nod, your breath coming in short gasps as you waited for her next move. Your entire body was humming with need, your core aching for her touch.
Lisa didn’t keep you waiting. She dipped her head between your thighs, her tongue darting out to lick a long, slow stripe up your slit. You cried out, your hips bucking off the bed at the sudden surge of pleasure. She held you down with a firm grip on your thighs, her tongue delving deeper, exploring every inch of you with a skill that left you breathless.
She alternated between licking and sucking, her tongue swirling around your clit before diving back down to tease your entrance. The sensations were almost too much to bear, your body trembling with the intensity of it all. Your hands fisted in the sheets, your head thrown back as you moaned her name, begging her for more.
“Please… Lisa… don’t stop…” you panted, your voice ragged with need.
Lisa hummed in response, the vibration sending shockwaves of pleasure through your body. She increased the pressure, her tongue flicking over your clit in quick, precise strokes that had you teetering on the edge of release.
You were so close, your body coiled tight with anticipation, every nerve ending on fire. And then, just when you thought you couldn’t take it anymore, she slipped two fingers inside you, curling them in just the right way to hit that sweet spot deep inside.
The combined sensation of her tongue on your clit and her fingers inside you sent you spiraling over the edge. Your orgasm hit you like a tidal wave, crashing over you with an intensity that left you gasping for breath. You cried out her name, your body shaking as wave after wave of pleasure washed over you.
Lisa didn’t stop, her fingers and tongue continuing to work you through your orgasm, drawing out every last bit of pleasure until you were a quivering, boneless mess beneath her. When you finally came down from the high, your body still trembling with aftershocks, she gently withdrew her fingers, her lips pressing soft, soothing kisses to your inner thighs.
You lay there for a moment, trying to catch your breath, your heart still pounding in your chest. Lisa crawled back up your body, her lips trailing kisses along your skin until she was hovering over you again.
She smiled down at you, her eyes warm and tender. “You okay?” she asked softly, brushing a strand of hair away from your face.
You nodded, still too breathless to speak. You reached up to cup her cheek, pulling her down for a slow, languid kiss. The intensity from earlier had faded, replaced by a gentle warmth that made you feel safe and cherished.
“Thank you,” you whispered against her lips, your voice hoarse.
Lisa smiled, her thumb tracing your bottom lip. “You don’t have to thank me. I enjoyed every second of that.”
You chuckled softly, the sound a little shaky. “Me too.”
She kissed you again, this time softer, more tender, as if she was savoring the moment. When she pulled back, she looked down at you with a mix of adoration and desire that made your heart flutter.
“I’m not done with you yet,” she murmured, her voice full of promise.
You shivered at the thought, your body already responding to her words. “What do you have in mind?” you asked, your voice breathy with anticipation.
Lisa’s smile turned wicked as she leaned in close, her lips brushing against your ear. “How about we see how many times I can make you scream my name tonight?”
Your breath hitched, a fresh wave of desire pooling in your core. “Challenge accepted.”
She grinned, kissing you deeply before trailing her lips down your neck, her hands already beginning their exploration of your body once more. The night was far from over, and with Lisa by your side, you had a feeling it was going to be the best birthday of your life.
— — — — —
You woke up the next morning to the soft light of dawn filtering through your curtains, your body pleasantly sore from the night before. For a moment, you lay there in a hazy, contented state, your mind still fuzzy with sleep. But as you slowly became more aware of your surroundings, the memories of the previous night came rushing back.
You rolled over, expecting to find Lisa beside you, but the bed was empty, the sheets cool to the touch where she should have been. A pang of disappointment shot through you, though it was quickly replaced by curiosity. Where had she gone?
Pushing yourself up on one elbow, you glanced around the room, your eyes landing on the door that was slightly ajar. A soft clattering sound from the direction of the kitchen caught your attention, and you couldn’t help but smile as you realized where she was.
You wrapped the sheets around yourself and padded out of the bedroom, your heart fluttering with a mix of excitement and nervousness. What did last night mean? What would she say? What would you say?
As you stepped into the kitchen, you were greeted by the sight of Lisa standing at the stove, wearing nothing but one of your oversized shirts, her hair tousled from sleep. The sight made your heart skip a beat, and you couldn’t suppress the smile that spread across your face.
She turned at the sound of your footsteps, her eyes lighting up when she saw you. “Good morning,” she said with a warm smile, her voice still a little husky from sleep.
“Good morning,” you replied, your voice soft as you took a few steps closer to her. The scene felt almost surreal—Lisa, the woman who had just rocked your world last night, standing in your kitchen as if she belonged there, cooking breakfast.
She turned back to the stove, a playful smile tugging at her lips. “I hope you don’t mind, but I helped myself to some eggs. Figured you could use a hearty breakfast after last night.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle, warmth blossoming in your chest at her easy familiarity. “I don’t mind at all,” you said, stepping closer until you were right behind her. “It smells amazing.”
Lisa glanced over her shoulder at you, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “You say that now, but wait until you taste my cooking. I’m not exactly a master chef.”
You grinned, wrapping your arms around her waist from behind, pulling her close. “I’m sure it’ll be perfect,” you murmured, pressing a kiss to the nape of her neck.
She hummed in response, leaning back into your embrace. For a moment, the two of you just stood there, wrapped in each other’s warmth, the soft sizzle of the eggs the only sound in the room. It was a peaceful moment, filled with a quiet intimacy that made your heart swell.
But as the minutes ticked by, a sense of unease began to creep into your mind. You remembered everything from the party—your friends surprising you, the drinks, the laughter, and of course, Lisa giving you that lap dance. But as you replayed the night in your head, there was a part of it that felt… hazy.
You frowned slightly, your brows knitting together as you tried to piece it together. “Lisa…” you started, your voice hesitant.
She must have sensed the change in your tone because she turned around in your arms, her expression softening as she looked at you. “What’s on your mind?” she asked gently, reaching up to brush a strand of hair away from your face.
You bit your lip, unsure of how to phrase your question. “I… I remember everything up until we were in the bedroom, but after that… things are a little fuzzy.”
Lisa’s eyes darkened slightly, a smirk playing on her lips. “Oh?” she said, her tone teasing. “You don’t remember the best part?”
You blushed, feeling a mix of embarrassment and frustration. “I remember some things, but it’s all a bit of a blur.”
She tilted her head, her smirk widening. “Well, I suppose I’ll just have to remind you, won’t I?”
Before you could respond, Lisa turned off the stove, abandoning the eggs as she took your hand and led you back to the bedroom. There was something in her demeanor—a confident, teasing playfulness—that sent a thrill of anticipation running through you.
Once you were back in the bedroom, Lisa gently pushed you onto the bed, straddling your hips as she leaned down to kiss you deeply. The kiss was slow, sensual, and full of promise, her lips moving against yours in a way that made your toes curl. When she finally pulled back, you were both breathing heavily, your heart pounding in your chest.
“Let me help you remember,” Lisa whispered, her voice husky as she trailed her lips down your neck, her hands sliding under the sheets to caress your bare skin.
You gasped, your body immediately responding to her touch, the sensation of her hands and mouth on you reigniting the fire that had burned so hotly the night before. Lisa took her time, kissing and touching every inch of you, as if she was mapping your body all over again.
Her lips trailed down your chest, lingering over your breasts as she took each nipple into her mouth, her tongue flicking over the sensitive peaks until you were writhing beneath her, your breath coming in ragged gasps.
“You were so responsive last night,” Lisa murmured against your skin, her voice a seductive purr that sent shivers down your spine. “You begged me to keep going, to make you come again and again.”
You moaned, your hips arching off the bed as her hand slid down your body, her fingers teasing your inner thighs. “Lisa… please…”
She smirked, her fingers brushing against your slick folds, making you gasp. “That’s exactly what you said last night,” she whispered, her breath hot against your ear. “And I was more than happy to oblige.”
With that, she slipped two fingers inside you, curling them just right to hit that sweet spot that had you seeing stars. You cried out, your body arching off the bed as pleasure surged through you, the sensation both familiar and overwhelming.
“Just like that,” Lisa murmured, her lips brushing against your collarbone as she moved her fingers inside you, her thumb circling your clit in slow, deliberate strokes. “You came so hard for me, and then you begged for more.”
You could barely form words, your mind too clouded with desire to do anything but moan and writhe beneath her. The way she was touching you, the way her voice wrapped around you like silk, made you feel like you were teetering on the edge of something intense and all-consuming.
“Lisa… oh god…” you gasped, your hands fisting in the sheets as your orgasm built, the pressure mounting with every thrust of her fingers, every flick of her thumb.
She leaned down, capturing your lips in a searing kiss just as your orgasm crashed over you, your body trembling with the force of it. You cried out against her mouth, your entire being consumed by the wave of pleasure that swept through you, leaving you breathless and boneless beneath her.
When you finally came down from your high, Lisa gently withdrew her fingers, her lips trailing soft kisses along your jawline. You were panting, your heart still racing, but there was a contentment that settled in your chest, a warmth that spread through your entire body.
Lisa rolled onto her side next to you, propping herself up on one elbow as she looked down at you with a satisfied smile. “Do you remember now?” she asked, her voice playful.
You nodded, still trying to catch your breath. “I do,” you said softly, your voice tinged with awe. “I can’t believe I forgot something like that.”
Lisa chuckled, her fingers brushing a strand of hair away from your face. “I’m glad I could help jog your memory.”
You smiled, reaching up to cup her cheek, pulling her down for a slow, lingering kiss. When you pulled back, you looked into her eyes, feeling a deep sense of gratitude and affection.
“Thank you,” you whispered, your voice filled with sincerity. “For everything. Last night was… incredible.”
Lisa’s expression softened, and she leaned down to press a tender kiss to your forehead. “It was my pleasure,” she murmured, her lips brushing against your skin.
You snuggled closer to her, feeling a sense of contentment that you hadn’t felt in a long time. Lisa wrapped her arms around you, holding you close as the two of you basked in the warmth of each other’s presence.
As you lay there in her embrace, you couldn’t help but wonder what the future held for the two of you. The night had started as a surprise, a wild birthday celebration that you’d never expected, but it had ended with something far more intimate, far more meaningful.
You didn’t know what would come next, but as you drifted off to sleep in Lisa’s arms, you knew one thing for sure: you’d never forget this birthday, and you’d never forget the woman who had made it unforgettable.

Tumblr media
holiday season was coming up, which meant the bakery was busy and you were stacked with hours. you didn’t have to deal with the public much as your manager kept you decorating. it was tense in the work place and it didn’t help that you haven’t spoken to riki since the freezer incident.
your manager told you to pick up pace and you nodded, running back and forth for waiting orders. tiered cakes. special frosted cakes. and more.
while everyone was busy working there was a yelp in the back and you called out.
“are you alright?!” you yelled out, your manager, jihyo, was up front helping the girls in the front counter.
“um…” one of the other frosters responded, it was taki. your brows furrowed and you walked over.
your eyes widening when you saw riki holding his hand on his white apron that was now stained red.
“riki cut his hand open! i don’t know what to do!”
it was sunday so the only real adult here was jihyo, baker bahng had weekends off.
your jaw fell to the floor and you walked over to him, you almost vomited when you saw his hand.
“it’s fine i’ll just wrap it up and continue fro-“
“GROSS DUDE NO…” taki yelled and shoved him, “go to the hospital! what if you bleed in the frosting! we’d get shut down! we don’t serve vampires! we can’t shut down i need this job!”
you felt nauseous, “i think i’m going to throw up..” you mumbled and got the first aid kit quick. you were quickly bandaging riki up. the moment quiet, well as quiet as it could be with taki freaking out. riki just kept watching you, a soft look on his features. jihyo came to the back and saw riki and her eyes widened, “good lord what happened?!”
“um…” riki looked awkward and looked at her. jihyo immediately sent him to have his sister pick him up and take him to the doctor. he could pick up his car later.
and so for the rest of the day riki was absent until closing when he came to pick up his bags and car. he walked into the bakery and saw you cleaning your station.
“busy?”
you looked up at him, your heart jumped you were worried and you missed him, “fuck are you alright?” you walked up to him and looked at his hand. he got new bandages and they pretty much just stitched him up.
“i’m okay… do you have a ride home?” he asked, you shook your head no, “you do now. we need to talk anyways.”
you felt your breath hitch and you became nervous, so you clocked out and the next thing you knew, you were in his car.
“can you even drive?” you asked softly, he looked at you, the lights from the dashboard illuminating his face, he had a small smirk as he turned around to back up the car.
“yeah i can drive. my hand is fine..” he murmured and then started to drive
“don’t you need my address?” you asked.
“after food. i’m hungry and i assume you haven’t eaten in awhile?” he side eyed you, you nodded.
“it was too busy.” you mumbled shyly. he nodded and took you guys to a drive through. he paid for your food and he parked in the back of the parking lot.
“so i wanted to talk to you because we went from arguing, to that moment in the freezer, to not speaking at all..” riki said and sipped his strawberry milkshake. you sipped your milkshake and nodded.
“i know and im sorry…” you mumbled and didn’t look at him. riki sighed and took a bite of his fries.
“i should apologize i think i made it weird..” he spoke and took a deep breath.
you looked at him now and immediately disagreed, “no! i’m awkward and weird and i’m shy an-“
riki started to laugh and he looked at you, his laugh was pretty sounding, “you’re so cute.”
you stopped talking and your jaw dropped.
his eyes tired and he ran a hand through his hair, “y/n, i like you. a lot. and i hope it’s not weird.”
your face was pink and you thanked god it was dark in the car, “you actually like me?”
riki started to laugh again, “y/n! yes! obviously!”
you looked at him, “like for real?”
the boy looked at you funny and put his hand on your cheek, leaning in, his eyes dancing across your features and they landed on your lips, “for real…”
your eyes looked at him, you wanted to kiss him so badly.
“can i kiss you..?” he asked quietly, almost scared you’ll say no.
you nodded and he smiled as he leaned in to kiss you.
when his lips met yours a million sparks went off and your hands went to his shoulders as he leaned into the center console to kiss you. he tasted like strawberry milkshake
a few seconds later he parted, “you’re my favorite by the way.”
you looked at him, “favorite what?” your smile was present.
“favorite everything. coworker, person, partner…?” he questioned
“partner.” you reassured your smile never faltering with him.

Today is a cool bit of pony merchandise! This was the prize I won in the Christmas cookie decorating contest, if you can remember back to the start of December! It arrived quickly, but it took me a little while to get some nice photos of it! This is My Little Pony Deluxe 12 Piece Cake Making & Decorating Kit, which was a Kids Kitchen Kit by the brand ARC, I think? It says it’s Kit Number 214, and even comes with a little recipe sheet! The tape was opened so I felt comfortable pulling the plastic case out to get closer photos of the items inside, which feature lots of cute designs! I bet those little pony molds would make really cute minis! 🥰

On the same page...Pt 14 (Simon 'Ghost' Riley x Author! Reader Bookshop Au!)
At the sea, you both find a new sense of peace
WC: 2.4k
Part 13, Part 15, Masterlist
Tumblr media
Welcome back :D
As you drift away you feel Simon tighten his hold on you. He feels you nodding off in his warmth and he curls around you, arms coming around your middle You wake a little with a hum and Simon shushes you.
“Easy love.”
He tucks his forehead next to yours, pressing a kiss to the side of your head as his composure resettles. Something locked away in his chest dissipates and a fierce care flow pulses through him. You were now, cradled against this chest like a spark of light in the night. Some small part of him mourns now, allowing himself to feel this is a shimmer of freedom. He too had run, drowning himself in work and missions to cover the loss, the heartbreak. It was Price who finally had sat him down and smacked some sense into the man.
But, finding you? You had rounded his heart up from its wander. To protect himself perhaps, but be it fate or curiosity here he was. You moving in his arms sobers him up, and a silent resolution settles in him then, here he would remain.
You stretch then, a soft sound escaping your throat as your knees pop in the chill. You go to move but Simon is steel, and you call his name as he tucks his face into the crook of your neck.
“Si-”
His hum reverberates through you like a force of nature. The rumble of oak or thunder.
“I’m starting to get hungry.”
He chuckles then, loosening his arms before pulling away from you to stand. He reaches down to collect his boots with socks tucked into them. You follow his movement, collecting yours before an arm collects your backpack, shouldering it before winding around your middle.
“Let’s go see what is in town.”
You nod before allowing him to lead you towards the car. You pause a moment, turning back to the wild sea. The ocean, you realize then, would always remain, a collection of stories and the falling of stars, and as you turn away you see the fox kit following after you.
-
The small cafe you find is quaint in the sea side town. Bay windows sit open, letting in the rising sun and the rustling of long sea grasses sound out in the breeze. You kick the sand off your shoes at the step up for the porch and Simon opens the door to let you in.  You step through the doorway to be met with the smell of pastries and fresh fruit. Straight ahead behind the counter an older woman works decorating a cake at a table. She looks up through her glasses as the door shuts quietly and smiles.
“Take a seat anywhere loves, I'll be with you in a moment.”
You nod and pull Simon to a booth overlooking the ocean. He slides in across from you, setting your bag aside. You sit down as well, and in a few minutes the same lady comes over to take your orders. When your food is delivered you begin to slowly eat in quiet, taking in the atmosphere around you. The sound of the waves gives good company to your racing thoughts.
Simon’s confession seemed to be a weight off of his shoulders, he even eats the meal in front of him with energy. You watch his form then and his eyes look into yours with a light of interest. You pause eating, and he mirrors the action,
“Problem dove?”
His voice is like polished sea glass, renewed by the waves.
You sigh, ideas pulling at your fingertips but they are unfocused now, the rush of elation of the ocean simmering low now into passion again. You played around with your thoughts.
“It’s just…” the thought is drawn out, “it’s been so much.”
Simon sets his fork down, focusing on you and you find his attention reassuring. He doesn’t reply with words, only humming lowly, allowing you a moment to continue if you’d like, something you are grateful for as you find yourself reminiscing.
“Simon I loved him, I trusted him. Just,” Your put your head in your hands,
“Did I do-”
“Absolutely not.”
Simon cuts you off firmly, and you look to find him sitting up and leaning forward, a sense of duty in his face.
“He made the decision to do what he did. While he was coerced into action he still chose not to fight it Dove.”
“I still love him in some ways, Simon.”
It comes out in an ashamed whisper, head turning down.
Simon calls your name then, and you just stare down at your plate, some mixed feelings of shame and hurt stirring in your chest. James had done everything to protect you, or attempt to which is not lost on you. But he had broken your heart in the process.
He calls your name tenderly this time and you finally look up so see Simon look at you, his eyebrows drawn in concern.
“You cannot blame yourself, love. Not after he lied and how he acted towards the end of your relationship. He was possessive, and I won’t stand for you doubting yourself. He could’ve fought harder for you, love. Why did he wait to tell you for this long?”
He takes your following silence as room to continue, he leans forward on his elbows, a sharp look in his eyes.
“The bloke handled the entire situation poorly. He lied for months, laid his fucking hands on you, and still had the fucking audacity to show his face-”
You reach a hand as you can sense Simon growing angry, your touch breaking his rant and acting as a balm to the tension in his shoulders. Your hand spread over his and he loosens. His mind seems to fumble at the look you give him, eyes pooling with emotion that stretches languidly around your heart, something warming at his defense of you.
His hand is rough, fingers flexing under yours as he just watches you, seemingly surprised with himself and he reacts a moment later, hand flipping before his fingers curl around yours. You look up to his and the small rising smile on his face warms yours as he regards you.
He looks sheepish then,
“Sorry Love.”
You laugh at him, something deep and mellow, it dissolves into a fit of giggles. You lift his hand and he looks at yor curiously before you place a kiss to his palm, simon’s pale face dusts with pink as you release his hand and turn back to your food without another word but with a steady smile on your face.
-
In the corner of the cafe there is a cleared-out area, chairs set aside and a few tables boxing in an area next to a radio. As you eat soft notes play along the air, the few groups who had wandered in after you chat quietly, keeping a restful peace. You had pulled out your notebook to start writing but as SImon eats you find yourself sketching visions of a cliffside, a lone bystander there calling out with arms held open to the sea. It is then familiar notes played.
Your head perks up as Vance Joy’s voice filters through the calm cafe.
I was only walking through your neighborhood
Saw your light on honey in the cold I stood
Anywhere I go there you are
Anywhere I go there you are
Your heart stirs from its rest, emotion threatening to well up in tears. Here you were in the world. Bare to the elements, you hear the crashing of waves in your ears-but then there is warmth. Simon's hand comes to cover yours as you drop your notebook.
I been getting used to waking up with you
I been getting used to waking up here
Anywhere I go there you are
Anywhere I go there you are
Simon is in your mind then as he looks into your eyes, seeing the cusp of new tears. He then surprises you by sliding out of the booth, setting your stuff aside and pulling you gently towards him. The area you chose was open so he makes use of the space to hold you close.
There you are
There you are, hmm
You are startled when he drops a hand to your waist in a practiced motion, his other going to your shoulder blade to guide you. Then with skill he steps into a slow dance.
You're the fire and the flood
And I'll always feel you in my blood
Everything is fine
When your hands resting next to mine
Next to mine
You're the fire and the flood
He moves in quarters, slow sweeping lines, keeping you close, shielded from the looks of the other patrons of the cafe by his broad form. Your feet fumble at first but with a gentle squeeze of your waist, strong arms pull you back into step.
Since we met I feel a lightness in my step
You're miles away but I still feel you
Anywhere I go there you are
Anywhere I go there you are
Late at night when you can't fall asleep
I'll be lying right beside you counting sheep
Anywhere I go there you are
Anywhere I go there you are
Memories of dancing long nights by the sea surface in your mind, you clench your teeth and shake them away before working to fall into step as Simon makes another sweeping turn. He looks out, always observing, always guarding.
There you are
There you are
His fingers sprawl against your clothes, the warmth of him seeping into your soul.
You're the fire and the flood
And I'll always feel you in my blood
Everything is fine
When your hand is resting next to mine
Next to mine
You're the fire and the flood
As he makes another turn, back to the booth he guides you out into a spin, which you twirl into on steady feet, his hands hovering. It is when you return when he meets your eyes with his. The depth of them makes you stumble, caught off guard by the emotion in his eyes.
Now listen here she said
Boy when you know you'll know
And I know
You're the fire and the flood
And I'll always feel you in my blood
Everything is fine
When your hand is resting next to mine
Next to mine
You're the fire and the flood
As the song ends his arms catch you effortlessly as you stumble back, overcomed with new emotions that burn your heart. Your hands fall to his chest as he breaks out of the dance, head cocking in question. But his eyes never leave yours and the breath is stolen from you by the warmth in them. You can't look away, even as a new song starts, as the other patrons clap, even as the fox kit dances in the air.
At that moment there is nothing else in your mind but his arms wrapping around you, he pulls you closer and dips his head down before kissing you anew. Your hands shoot to his arms as he pulls you closer until there is no space between you two. His head turns, hand coming to your neck to kiss you deeper. A moment later he parts with blow pupils, mouth slightly agape in wonder as his eyes shine down into yours.
You feel a sudden shyness then, you bury your head into his chest and he laughs. It's light, boyish even and despite all of the muscle and scars of him you feel his shoulders lighten and grief melt away as he pulls you to him in a sturdy embrace.
Something has shifted then, in this key moment. Two stings tangled together with the force of the sea. You see it as he lingers, releasing you to slid back into the booth. You see it as he smiles at the other patrons, an abashed grin with light eyes.
You sense it as you return to your sketching, a leg pressed against yours, making you smile to yourself. He sticks close to you you move, taking his and your dishes to the counter where the woman smiles at you, Simon lingering behind with your stuff. You move to pay but he is quicker, card in hand as the woman chuckles at his antics. She makes the payment before murmuring a “just a moment” before turning into the back room. In a minute she returns with a thick brown paper bag smelling of berry and vanilla.
“Here you are love, something for the road.”
You take the bag and offer a thanks with a smile, the woman nods and then turns back to her work as you both turn towards the door. Simon stays close enough to chase off the cold as you reach the steps, his hand taking yours before stepping down and heading to the car. He sets your stuff in the back before opening your door and helping you into the car. He then takes the driver's seat and pulls out onto the road.
As he drives you watch the sea begin to awaken in the gusts of the morning as the sun takes its crown. The window is cold but the warmth of the sun settles into your lap as the fox kit snuggles in. As he finally turns away from the sea, Simon’s hand moves, lifting from its rest at the center console to seek you out. You move then, taking his hand in yours you lift it and press a tender kiss to his knuckles, finding them cold underneath your lips.
“Your cold Si.”
He seems caught off guard in that moment, glancing at you before clearing his throat and looking back to the road with a dusting of pink on his pale cheeks.
“Right.” It's quiet and your heart melts when his hand grips yours, coming to rest in your lap. You reach and turn the heat on a little more before pulling Simon’s jacket over you to keep in the warmth.
The next minutes pass in comfortable silence as Simon drives, his hand occasionally squeezing yours as you feel the warmth seep into his skin. When you are pleased you release his hand and he looks at you through the corner of his eyes. Despite his newfound freedom his hand lingers. Fingertips brush over your wrist before his hand settles on your knee. You chuckle when a pleasant smile curls onto his face and he looks back to the road in non-acknowledgement.

the kits making sure Naruto has a good birthday for the first time tho
When Naruto's first birthday post the team coming together rolls around he doesn't really think much of it.
He's not completely ignored or chased off on his birthday anymore and there are a few people who wish him well and Iruka even gives him a cake but it's just ,,,
The day has never been about him even with the few people he knows care about him and Naruto gets that, understands it, knows that even with the festival the day is more about mourning for the older generations than anything.
And his time outside of the village has gotten him out of the habit of looking for anything else from anyone else too.
So he figures he'll do what he'd done during his years on the road, summon a fox or two, maybe even a toad now that he's back in Konoha, and do some training.
It's late when he gets back to his apartment, the festival is still in full swing and Naruto knows that there will be fireworks soon. So he'll do what he used to do as a kid, make his way onto the roof of the building and watch them from a distance.
Only when he lands on his balcony he pauses.
There's someone in his apartment.
Three familiar little someones actually.
Naruto huffs out a small laugh, pulls the balcony door open, and steps inside.
He feels himself melt just a bit at the sight that greets him.
His kits are all cuddled together on his bed, limbs thrown over each other, still in their festival kimonos and all of them sound asleep.
But what really gets him is the fact that his apartment has been decorated.
There are streamers and a half dozen very obviously stolen festival lanterns strewn all over the place. There are prizes from the festival stall games he was never allowed to play piled on top of his kotatsu, including three separate goldfish, all of them vibrant and oddly colored, in their own little bowls, right below the banner that reads "Happy Birthday Naru-sensei" in an adorable mix of three different handwritings.
And there, in the center of the table itself, is another cake, orange icing only looking a little bit melted from having sat out.
Naruto immediately abandons his previous plans.
Instead, he ghosts through the apartment, grabbing a change of clothes as he slips into his tiny bathroom to clean up.
Once he's done and wrapped in a new loose yukata, he ghosts back out of the bathroom, a clone appearing with barely a thought and moving to scoop the cake up to slide it into the fridge before quietly dispelling.
Naruto slides his way into his bed, eyes crinkling closed at the force of his smile when his kits move for him automatically, bodies separating from each other to move and latch onto him automatically. Heat-seeking little leeches that they all are.
Naruto sighs, nestles his head back into his pillow, and lets his eyes slip closed.
He lays there for the longest time, basking in the warmth of what has so quickly become his family.
When he finally falls asleep his dreams are sweet.
~~~
In the morning the kits are outraged that they slept through him coming back home, upset over having missed his actual birthday and vowing that next year will be different.
They end up having cake for breakfast as Naruto oohs and awws over the various presents and prizes they'd won especially for him at the festival.
He refuses to admit that he tears up a bit at the three actually wrapped presents that were buried underneath everything else.
It ends up being the best birthday of his entire life.
