I have watched wayyyy too many Korean survival shows to know when someone is being evil edited but it’s rare to see it in other reality shows, so to see the disparity in how Cory is treated by production vs Cameron is both weird and unsurprising
#bb25#bb25 cory#bb25 cameron#yes I watched girls planet#and yes I was there for the assassination of cai bing’s character by mnet#and by extension the assassination of Dayeon’s character by fans#and I was also there when mnet massacred cherry bullet in queendom puzzle#so to see fans fall for the evil editing is weird bc I was hoping it wasn’t gonna be as blatant as mnet#and also disheartening bc they hate cory more than two guys who said slurs and another who is a creep#but he’s angel edited so much that it doesn’t really matter how much proof there is#so no I don’t think Cory is perfect#but I will keep standing up for him bc casuals seem delude themselves to think that he’s worse than luke

was making a post about all my intersex headcanons, but i realized that so many of them were from homestuck that i might as well make a whole post solely about them. so yea :)
btw this one’s gonna be LONG AS HELL
homestuck headcanons (intersex edition because i do what i want :p)
first off, the humans!!
jade harley (NCAH): honestly, it’s mostly just vibes. plus her whole thing is dogs n stuff. dogs have a lot of hair. you know who else has lots of hair? people with NCAH
roxy lalonde (AIS): remember that whole thing where hussie revealed the last two letters of her name first, so everyone immediately headcanonned her as a trans woman, then it was confirmed that she’s cis? homegirl can have XY chromosomes while being cis! bada bing bada boom!
ok now the trolls!! (this section will be significantly longer lmao)
sollux captor (Chimerism): first of all, his blood is literally yellow, so yknow. second of all, duality is a HUGE part of his character! it just makes sense for him to be a chimera to me tbh (i also headcanon that gold and violetbloods are more likely to be medically recognized as intersex but that’s an entirely different can of worms)
nepeta leijon (PCOS): same reasoning as jade, but her whole thing is cats. cats have lots of hair. you know who else has lots of hair? people with PCOS
kanaya maryam (Klinefelter’s Syndrome): most people depict her as being super tall, and you know who tends to be super tall? yeah :)
(i know that it’s kinda implied at all jadebloods are female, just let me have trans intersex kanaya. i beg. i grovel at your feet)
terezi pyrope (undeclared, likely Chimerism): i feel like she would really love to bring up her intersexuality while arguing with a transphobe or intersexist. she would also probably not disclose what her specific variation is so they couldn’t pull the whole “you’re just a fe/male with a dsd!!!!” bs. also, balance is a huge part of her character, so i feel like chimerism particularly suits her
equius zahhak (Hyperandrogenism): his body is quite literally overflowing with testosterone. man is literally sweating 24/7 and frankly, no other indigobloods seem to have as much testosterone as him, so we know this isn’t typical. they’re all strong, yeah, but this guy is on a whole other level. i just KNOW this boy’s skin is oily as hell
(also yes!! i headcanon equius as a cis guy with hyperandrogenism!! intersex doesn’t just mean “man with lots of estrogen” or “woman with lots of androgen”!!)
eridan ampora (PAIS): ok this one is one im actually super passionate about. in the og comic, all female trolls are consistently drawn with black lips (with the exception of nepeta, who i’ve already included on here). all the male trolls are drawn without the lips except for eridan. eridan is shown to have black lips in multiple panels! back when it was first pointed out, most assumed it was because of how feminine he is compared to the other guys, but you know what? idc!!! that boy is intersex and indulges in toxic masculinity due to his insecurity!!! idc what anyone has to say!!! also his blood is literally violet so yknow
damara megido (CAIS): i think she would get a really big kick out of not having body hair, periods or the ability to give birth. obviously there are downsides to it, but i doubt those would get in her way of having fun. i also think she would really like reclaiming That One Japanese Slur For Intersex People
cronus ampora (MAIS): mostly cause vibes and the fact that he’s related to eridan, so it’s more likely. what can i say, the ampora boys are very “does being intersex make me less of a man?” coded
bonuses!!!
rose lalonde (PCOS): she gives me the vibe of a woman who has PCOS but doesn’t consider herself intersex due to how little it affects her. tho i imagine that she’s done lots of reading on intersex variations considering how two people she cares deeply about (kanaya and roxy) do consider themselves intersex
dave strider (MAIS): i know that trans dave is a super popular headcanon and don’t get me wrong, transgender icon dave strider will save the world!! it’s just that for me personally, i’ve only been able to see him as an intersex guy. though in his case, i imagine that he would find out pretty late into his life. and like his sister, considering how little it’s affected his life, he wouldn’t consider himself intersex either
anyways yeah that’s it :) have a good day <3

Hi! I’m a totally different anon. I don’t think it made Matthew look bad but I am certain it was INTENDED to make him look bad. This was a very clear example of mnet making up bullshit, asking very leading questions and editing in a very nasty way (with their stupid slowmos and close ups).
The way people could interpret it badly (and definitely how mnet intended it to be taken) is that Matthew was trying to take over while Hanbin was out of the room, that he was essentially trying to be the leader even though Hanbin was the actual leader (that Matthew wanted to be the leader and was ignoring what the group had ‘chosen’ because he’s selfish/greedy/a bad teammate). Like if you look at the subtitles they really emphasize ‘when leader hanbin leaves for a second, Matthew takes over’ and then having hanbin be like ‘he was leader last time and he obviously wants to be leader again’ makes it seem like matthew is trying to take control. Also the zoom in on hanbin’s face when he comes back in and the continued cuts to them talking bts combined with the earlier zoom in on matthews half hand raise when they were picking leader was meant to make it way more dramatic than it probably was.
and then having hanbin reasonably explain his teaching method and show Matthew doing the same thing over again right after only to have hanbin interrupt and then have Matthew ask to be sub leader (which I did think was weird because that’s not really a thing but Matthew was kind of awkward and was clearly just trying to help plus there are a lot of them). And the way they edited the end part of the scene made it look like Matthew just ignored everything hanbin said and that hanbin was frustrated. And maybe he was but it’s not this big problem mnet is trying to make it seem like and I doubt they actually argued or fought over it. But the editing was intended to make Matthew seem unreasonable and like he wasn’t listening to hanbin even though hanbin was the leader, like he was trying to take over and lead specifically because he thought it would make him look better.
I think Matthew was honestly just trying to help, especially since they three people he was working with were not exactly known for their dancing skills or they were less experienced. It’s easy for people to overlook that takuto was asking for help and take it like Matthew was just trying to take over (ignoring that the other half of the group was just doing their own thing so it wasn’t like he tried to lead everyone the second hanbin left like mnet implied)
Sorry this was long and ramble-y but I found the whole thing really irritating and awkward and I’m even more annoyed that it worked and people have been hating on Matthew because they think hanbin can do no wrong and MUST be annoyed/upset because of Matthew given how mnet edited it. But even if that were actually the case that is stupid because if hanbin was frustrated the way a good leader handles it is to take that person aside and talk to them but no instead hanbin is under attack by Matthew (his best friend?) and must be defended by jerks online who chose to say nasty things about Matthew despite loving him previously BECAUSE he’s friends with hanbin
I probably sound like a broken record but with the whole "greedy/selfish" bit, it doesn't add up because it was a whole group. It can't even be painted to be like that?
As for the sub-leader, it makes sense. I can remember that these missions always had two leaders because it's a lot of people. Even in some kpop groups (onf, treasure, svt, exo when they first debuted) like, it's not that uncommon. Though I think they did only had one leader to avoid another cai bing/dayeon type of situation (though mnet created that situation on their own)
I agree that everyone thinks hanbin is just a little angel who is just so pretty and perfect and how dare anyone do anything to him. I think people just saw that mnet was wanting this guys to be center and people were on board. I remember seeing on twt how some people are only voting for him so he can be the first person to rank 1st consecutively, even people that don't watch the show. Honestly, I don't even see how he got k-center. We didn't see a nomination or a "proving myself" part. We were just told who the centers were (which backs up the mnet pushing) But for me, it's pretty backwards. I'm okay with hanbin because he's matthew's friend, but hanbin never stood out to me for me to feel any type of connection to him. He blew up for waacking but that's more of a special talent than anything that screams "debut this man right now." I definitely think pretty privilege had a hand in all this.
All in all, everything I hear about how this made matthew look bad just doesn't make sense to me because when you look at the whole situation, the editing makes no damn sense??? Also, don't be sorry for rambling!! I rarely get a lot of interactions/asks so hearing what people think is actually really nice :)

Watchtower of China from Leonardo Dalessandri on Vimeo.
Creating Watchtower of China was a labour of love. I say labour because we, meaning my crew and I, throughout three consecutive summers, visited over seventy cities and travelled countless thousands of kilometers. Everywhere we went, we found ourselves channelling the powerful energy of this great land to find the strength and inspiration to continue our quest along what became life-changing for all of us. When we initially gathered together we were a film crew. By the time we were done, three years later, we had become a family.
I say love, because what we have created is more than just a film. It is a declaration of our love for this Country.
When I set out on this project I wanted to create a visual tribute to China - an honest observation of daily life. Not a surface travelog, but a real and raw representation of the cultural history. An honoring of Chinese culture, identity, and the complex and varied way of living that spans the enormity of the Chinese territory. A window on the dedication and discipline, the craftsmanship and hard work of the Chinese people. They have an energy of moving forward together as they draw power and inspiration from a culture that looks back over thousands of years, yet rushes fearlessly towards a bold future.
I started to feel this intense energy, as though this cultural pride and determination were now moving through me and my camera. The experience of this film buried itself so deeply within me that I can still feel the hard day’s work in my muscles.
It couldn’t have come together without the help of my dear friends, especially Jolien Snyers and Ricky Choy (did you spot Ricky in the film? She’s in multiple shots and sings in the very last taxi shot!)
It is one of my proudest accomplishments. I hope you love it.

*maybe spoiler idk* Do you have a top nine for gp999? Or just some favorites to win? I vote for Yujin every round no matter what. I also really like Hikaru (because eyes -.-). Cai Bing *sobs* was my third so I don’t have a C group fav anymore. I’ll vote any of them I guess or just about anyone that isn’t Fu Na Ying.
My ideal top nine would've probably included Ruan, Cai Bing and Hsinwei 🥲 I'm a little biased towards the Chinese trainees because I watch YWY and PD Camp but my picks from each group would be Youngeun, Ruiqi, and Ruan (she deserved literally thirteenth or higher and I will gladly die on that hill) Mashiro. I had an 'ideal' top nine, but honestly, it's just my favs more than it is a girl group so I'm not gonna list it 💀 But osrs, mnet needs to stop fucking with me, I can't do this
- asshole 4
#they really evil edited and wrongly translated cai bing to get her out and if that ain't the snakeiest shit 😒#homegirl was steady top nine and it was a hoe move#and they robbed ruiqi of her highnote. whores. all of 'em#i just hope Ruan gets to debut because like. she cures my depression and i don't wanna lose her 😭

Paradise in Thailand is probably the longest story I've read after OMG Finale, Id like how both have multiple scenes with a different idol/character. I understand it must be difficult to write and edit something this long hell even the story emphasizes that this may be your one-time thing when Minnie said "Don't expect this to become a regular thing..." to OC while they talking about another trip to Hongkong, and the ending makes it even clear when OC said "Screw the next trip i can't wait till we get home" i don't know if you wrote that on purpose but man you genius for that but say that we're in a different universe where you write the next trip to Hongkong, who do you think you'll write? Thanks!
Thanks for reading!
Yeah it was an absolutely pain since I didn't even have markers like I did for the OMG Finale. I had trouble finding where I was when editing.
The emphasis thing by Minnie was entirely unintentional, but I left the ending like that because at the time I was thinking of doing one with Elkie, Tzuyu, and Shuhua (who are all close friends) in Hong Kong, with Elkie being the "main character" like Minnie was in Thailand.
But yeah, editing that was such a pain so I never felt like doing it again for a looong time. More recently I have contemplated trying that again, with it being Paradise in Shanghai instead of Hong Kong - no politics, just more idols I'd want to include (Kyulkyung, Cheng Xiao, Xuanyi, Yuqi, Yiren, Cai Bing, Shen Xiao Ting) and I can add Elkie too since she seems to be more active in China now.

Girls Planet 999 - a rant
I just saw a rumor of what the new top 9 will look like and I'm low-key (maybe high key) angry and that's basically because of one girl. Here's what top 9 currently looks like
Some girls, like Hikaru and Mashiro, I don't really get the hype, however they don't bother me. If they make the debut group, which is highly likely, I won't be angry at all. Think of it like this, they are good additions but if I could swap them for other trainees I would.
It's a good thing that Cai Bing is no longer on top 9, not because of the whole evil editing thing. In my last post she made top 9 however I changed my mind because I saw a video on how she's always ahead of everyone else and it made me question whether she is actually good or if she got a high rank because of how pretty she is and because she got in top 9 the masters created.
But why would you guys replace her with Fu Ya Ning. Just why? I do believe that she's had some evil editing done to her, but like with Cai Bing, somethings she said because she wanted to. No one told her, I believe so, to go ahead and say "we go up but you don't", no one told her to look at the judges like she was somehow better than them, no one told her to look at Su Yeon in her all rounder cell and say that she didn't look like much. Performance wise she isn't bad but she isn't great either.
And finally we have Su Ruiqi. She was in my top 9 on the previous post that I made but it was mostly because I didn't know who to vote for so because everyone seemed to like her I put her there. And this time around she's here because I get odd vibes from her. It's not that she's done anything in particular, though her not wanting to practice because she didn't get the part she wanted was a dick move and everyone defending her for that are kind of way too into their own head because this a kpop group and some times shit doesn't make any sense and girls that have good vocals and performance stability get few lines (jeongyeon from twice says hi). So yeah, I'd change her for anyone else, except Cai Bing.
On my last post I talked about Bahiyyih, so I wanted to mention her again. She's grown a lot, got a lot better and with maybe another year on training she'll be really good. I don't see her debuting with the group as her ranking has been dropping, although she's really popular internationally (I won't get into the question of whether people actually like her or they vote for her because of her brother) in Korea people are sort of boycotting her (this may have changed since I last saw it).
Here's what my top 9 would look like (there's no particular order for this, I just want my girls to make)
I know Kotone will be eliminated in this round and Manami has no chance whatsoever to make the cut. But I like them, they have impressed me. In their place, only looking at the current top 9 (still a rumor) I would put Masahiro and Dayeon. And there you have it, a great group. I would really like to Shana to make the cut but I think she's someone who won't, unfortunately.
That's it, that's my rant based on a rumor I saw on Twitter. But the rumor for elimination 2 was also correct so... yeah
If you can, and want to, please for the love of God vote for yeseo and youngeun

DaXia is a story happened in Xia Dynasty, it mainly talks about a flood which made civilians suffer for decaes. Da Yu was the one who tried to stop the disaster, it turned out that he did it successfully, he saved thousands of people from the flood. Throughout history, we've been having several disasters and pandemics that were harmful to us. As we all know, recently, COVID-19 had been spread all over the world. In this case, it is vital for us, all human beings, to fight against the pandemic together, in order to overcome this challenge.

Guys!!! electric!!! guqin!!!! They also bow the guzheng (i.e. play it with a classical western stringed instrument bow such as a violin bow) and also the (electric?) guqin, which is a fantastically cool playing technique that gives you all sorts of different sounds [side note, have you ever heard a bowed marimba? VERY cool sounds out of those]. I also spot what I think is an amplified yueqin played by one of the guys in the back? VERY cool. I love the story behind the composition and love the way it’s staged.
The costumes & styling appear to me to be sort of “classic” hanfu style (i.e. Tang-dynasty style) vs being Xia dynasty style (which I’m pointing out more as a note and not at all as a critique, I think they’re going for a mix of historic & futuristic here so it doesn’t need to be “strict” on references & I think the choices do work to bridge the references between history & the kind of neon-futuristic Bladerunner-esque aesthetic for a modern sensibility).
The laser/projecting & smoke light show is also suuuper cool, though people who are sensitive to flashing may want to be cautious with it. It’s not a ton of flashing, but sometimes the camera does go closer up on the projections as they flash.
#zide guqin studio#as usual it's so cool to me that they not only have costumers but also a costuming & protocol guide#I copy/pasted the description so decaes and guzhen are [sic] lmao...#but I'm not going to put that in the main caption because I think it'll be distracting to the point of the description#hanfu#chinese culture
