what should be an easy answer for sam seems impossible at the moment. but this was lana he was talking about … one of the only people still alive on the planet who completely understood his grief.

“ no. ” the winchester manages to croak out at last, “ given the same circumstances, i wouldn’t. ” a hard swallow for them both, it seemed. but they knew what this line of work entailed. knew there was a price to pay when dealing with the supernatural. what’s dead should stay dead, after all.

"stop hiding, clark, mrs. k said you're in he―" but when she climbs up to the barn, there is a very different form staring back at her. "oh." lois lets out, stopping at the top of the stairs. there's an awkward moment as she looks around, not even sure if she's hoping for clark to miraculously show up. she shakes her head slightly when she realizes how stupid this is. "i didn't know you were here. but since you are..." she takes a few steps forward, fidgeting her fingers. "... how the hell did you date clark? you're so..." she looks the other up and down, "much better than him. how did you put up with him?"

abaddon's laugh was cold. it would send chills down the spine of most people. but little lana wasn't most people, wasn't she? the girl and her family had been a sore in her side for longer than the demon would've liked, much like the winchesters and their little men of letters situation. what was it with these humans and their legacies? but lana was different than the winchesters. there's an inherent darkness in her that abaddon can see. she fights it every day, afraid to let it corrupt the humanity she still clings to. and of course, abaddon being who and what she is, she sees an opportunity in that. abaddon wasn't the usual demon who was out just for chaos and mayhem. yes, she did enjoy both of these things, but she was smart.

sarah had always been a firm believer in what she could see, and what she could see only. anything other than that was imagination and childhood nightmare --- something you grew up from. world was rocked when she met the winchester's. eyes opened to a whole other side of the world, and she wanted to be prepared. so she learned all she could, learned what she could. would never be unprepared again.

the other woman's words reach her ears, a smile painting her lips as she turns her eyes to @cagedpotential. " pretty much as soon as sam and dean left. " she recants, a little breathless but steady enough. " they kinda blow in, change your life, and you have to build from there. " and she is sure lana understands that completely.

she wasn't sure how she had gotten herself back in smallville for winter break. she could've stayed in metropolis or going to new york with her college friends. and yet, one phone call from chloe and she was already on her way. her cousin didn't even had to beg but lois would tell it differently.

just as she'd tell differently about this football game they were playing in the kent's farm. clark as the smallville crows' new quarterback had clear advantage even if he assured the girls he'd play it fair. lois, however, had other ideas. knowing how uncoordinated her cousin was, she picked lana immediately. she shook her head at her partner after a couple of plays, playing around with the ball. "do you want to lose to clark?" they heard a collective c'mon coming from across the field and a laugh. she stared down at lana. "this is your chance to show him what he missed." yes, she was always this competitve. "c'mon lana, it's not about the competition. it's about us girls being better than farmer boy out there."

❝ my... my magnetic field? ❞ confused wouldn't begin to describe what he was feeling. maybe a little amused. lana had a fond habit of saying strange things that confused him. or maybe, he just liked to ignore what they could possibly mean because it was just easier. sam let out an awkward laugh, scratching the back of his head.

❝ right, well, i don't know if i can really control that, you know. ❞

oh, he would if he could. the last thing that he wants is to be attracting anyone. sam thinks he's cursed. in fact, he's convinced of it. ❝ my magnetic field is broken. i'm sure of it. and even if it wasn't, i can't really... i don't realy have a great track record. attracing... things. ❞ and he didn't like talking about it, either. if dean was here, he knows dean would be face palming, telling sam he was an idiot.

but the thing was, sam didn't want lana to end up dead. he didn't want any of his past flings to end up dead. but that seemed to be the way things went, so sam ignored his magnetic field, for the most part. unless it was brought up in conversation, apparently. god, he just wants to disappear right now. if there's one thing he hates, it's talking about his romantic endeavours. he just doesn't like it.
