Aight I feel like crap at work SO screw it here we go it's LORE/WORLD-BUILDING TIME
we talking about the world of An Uneasy Alliance/King-Killer today
this is just general, basic stuff that i might or might not expand on later
tagging @emmettnet in case you're interested in the lore/world-building of that silly comic i tagged you in
Setting
An Uneasy Alliance (and by extension King-Killer) takes place on the planet of Luria, within the continent of Castroth. On the continent of Castroth, there are four countries/kingdoms:
The Kingdom of Tamevan, named for its Founder King, Tamev the Bright. It is the central country on the continent of Castroth, with the other countries situated to the North, South, and East of it.
Ethea, known to non-natives as The Far Fields. Ethea is the southernmost country on Castroth, and named after their Mother-Goddess, Ethea, who is still worshipped within the country, but is relatively unknown outside of the country.
Sodrana, known as the Northern Wastes to non-natives. The northernmost country on Castroth, it is named for the Old God, Sodroth.
The Kingdom of Hesken, named for the great priest, Hesk of Many Voices, who helped to found the kingdom alongside its first queen. Hesken is located to the East of Tamevan.
I'll talk about each country more in-depth in another post, probably.
Generally speaking, the four countries found on Castroth are on peaceful terms with one another. Though there have been conflicts and wars, various treaties and trade agreements are in place to ensure the most harmonious existence possible... At least among Tamevan, Sodrana, and Hesken. Ethea generally does not engage with the other countries, for reasons I'll expand on when I make a post about the countries.
Further information under the cut!
Religion
Though there is an overarching, common religion on Castroth, each country either has or had their own specialized set of gods and goddesses that were worshipped. In total, there are:
Virdonism - Common across all of Castroth, especially preferred among Tamevan's residents. Worships God-King Virdon and the Virdonian Pantheon.
Etheism - Primarily practiced by Etheans and is uncommon outside of the country of Ethea, worships the Mother-Goddess Ethea, her husband the unnamed Father-God, and the very planet itself.
Sodrothism - Primarily practiced by Sodranians, it is uncommon in the modern era as most of the mythology has been lost to time. It worshipped Sodroth and his wife, whose name has been lost.
Cadarism - Uncommon, but spans the whole of Castroth as well as the neighboring continent of Vreyes, it is especially common in Hesken and in the Astrein Empire on the Vreyes continent. Worships Cadaris, the Goddess of Shadow, alongside her children.
Vutarism - Not overly common, but often practiced within Hesken and Sodrana. Worships Vutara and their spouse, Deara.
Thankfully for everyone, most religions are happy to mingle with each other, and it isn't uncommon for someone to practice multiple religions at once. It is completely acceptable to practice both Virdonism and Vutarism, or Etheism and Virdonism, etc., or even all of the religions at once, as none of them sees any other as less true.
This is primarily due to the fact that the ancient residents of Castroth practiced a more expanded form of Virdonism that also included all of the other gods, and those teachings are still technically able to be found within the primary religious texts. Unfortunately, there are also a dozen or so gods that have been lost to time, and are no longer worshipped either within or outside of modern Virdonism.
Magic and Science
Magic
Magic is uncommon on Castroth, but not so uncommon that it's unknown. It's common enough to be widespread, but the average person does not have much chance of spontaneously developing magic.
Virdonist priests often have some amount of magical ability, granted to them by whichever god they are primarily associated with. What abilities they have will vary depending on which patron they serve, ranging from speaking to animals to starting fires.
The same can be said of Cadarist priests, although there are more limited options as there is a more limited pantheon.
Ethea, as it often is, is the exception to the general rule. This time, it's the exception to the specific rule about needing to be gifted magic directly by a patron. Nearly every Ethean has some capacity for magic, although the applications of that magic are typically limited. Children, especially the children of hunters, are taught to control their magic from an early age, and those with above-average magical abilities are held in very high esteem, as it's believed they're so gifted due to being so in touch with the planet, and therefore closer to their gods.
Science
Luria, as a whole, is not the most scientifically advanced planet you'll ever come across. Castaroth and its countries in particular are a little behind the curve on scientific discovery.
As of the current era, Tamevan and Hesken have things like saw and grain mills and gas lamps and semi-advanced medicine, but lack things like ice boxes and advanced transportation.
In many ways, Ethea and Sodrano are behind the curve in terms of science, but in others are far ahead. Sodrano has central heating (a necessity for any building in the freezing, aptly-named Wastes they are known for), as well as steam engines for use in ships and the rather intimidating train-like vehicles known as Ice Breakers.
Ethea, in particular, has found a very delicate balance of advanced science and carefully maintained magic to make life easier. They have ice boxes, lanterns, and even safes and vaults that are powered by electricity, and that electricity can be obtained by either a quick shock from a magic-user or through windmills. However, they lack advanced medicine and have obtained most of their success through magic moreso than 'true science'.

Adventure Awaits
The intro to my Strixhaven campaign! Very short as I’ve been traveling and moving. I have high hopes for this series and hope you enjoy as it progresses :)
“Finally…” he thought, his golden eyes widening upon seeing the tallest tower on Strixhaven’s campus come into view from his cramped seat on a friendly traveler’s wagon. He was annoyed at the time it took to arrive on campus, yet eager to stretch his legs after being sat in a wagon all this time. The journey was bound to pay off. It had to.
“Stop,” he commanded, “I can walk from here.” The carriage driver, an aged, stout halfling, pulled on the reins for his steeds to halt.
“Are you sure?” the old wanderer inquired. This passenger was certainly an odd one; barely spoke a word during the weeklong excursion: didn’t even give his name. However, he couldn’t complain: the kid paid handsomely for his services.
“Yes, thank you.” The young lavender-toned eladrin replied curtly, giving his driver what was remaining of his amount due.
“Safe travels, my young friend!” the elder called. The eladrin said not another word, flipped up the hood of his cloak, and strode with what little belongings he had in the direction of the university.
*******************************************************************************************
In a few hour’s time, and with the aid of various signs around campus, he’d found the center of it all: Strixhaven’s Biblioplex. He wasted no time gawking at the high, intricate ceilings as some other passersby did, and strode onward to the information desk. All three receptionists were very busy, and understandably so: hundreds of potential students were here to register and take their entrance exams.
“I can take the next participant!” One of the receptionists called, and he strode that way. Suddenly and without warning, he felt an impact and landed rather abruptly on his backside. On the ground in front of him, also on his rear, was an elf in white and golden robes, being helped up by a female elf. They shared oceanic blue eyes, high cheekbones, and sandy blonde hair. They could pass as twins, and probably were.
“Watch where you’re stepping, commoner,” the male stated as he rose. “I’d say you’re rather lucky I have more important matters to tend to at the moment.”
“Oh, I’m the lucky one, is that right?” the lavender eldarin questioned, helping himself up. The blonde elf scoffed, and strode forward, inches away from the other’s face.
“Obviously you don’t know who you’re dealing with. I am Cadaris Nailo, first born son of the seventh generation of the Nailo family.” His eyes widened only slightly.
“Never heard of you,” he lied, “and if I had, I could not have cared less.”
“Break it up, NOW,” another receptionist scolded.
“You best watch yourself, should you somehow make it through the exam,” Cadaris threatened, returning to the post he’d stolen.
“Wow, that guy’s kind of a dick. He totally cut you off,” said a voice. The raven-haired male turned to see another eladrin: an Autumn form one as opposed to his own winter form. His dirty blonde hair and freckles made him seem childlike, but he was just as tall and must be at least of age to take the exam.
“You can go ahead of me,” he said enthusiastically, extending a hand. “It’s not gonna kill me. My name is Rubbidon Eleroy! But you can call me Ruby. And you are?”
The winter counterpart examined the excitable Rubbidon’s hand before taking it firmly and meeting his gaze.
“Lucian. Lucian Goetia.”

634. Autistic ravenclaws who stim by ripping up paper. Their stimming is sometimes an issue for their fellow ravenclaws because they need the paper to stim, but every time one of them messes up on paper, they never have to see it again!

🇧🇷/🇬🇧
• Assito a algum musical novo.
_____________
5 things I always do when I visit NY:
• Visit an art exibit This time I went to the Metropolitan to see “Heavenly Bodies” where there’s pope’s costumes from the 1800 and amazing looks from contemporary stylists inspired by the catholic universe.
• Wander around Soho to check the coolest shops, haute couture brands and street arts that I post at instagram.com/marimoonart.
• Watch at least one new musical This year I took my mum to see Alladin. I bought us second row tickets so we could see it all from up close and itvwas totally worth it! Specially if you’re into costumes like me.
• Lunch or dinner at a new restaurant, after all NY is one of the most gastronomic cities in the world.
• I do a pretty photoshoot with a local photographer so I can publish some nice photos on my social networks. Michelle Cadari from instagram.com/fotografabrasileiraemNY was great and we did an amazing work together!
