As I’ve been trying to make some background for my FC and my chocobo racing with Mimiteh, I realized this could be some nice things to pick up for anyone here. Also might be some hooks, if anyone wants to engage in rp with Mimi. So, here they are:

Chocobo racing news!

And don’t worry, I won’t claim this is “all” chocobo racing happening. I assume there are a lot more chocobo races than just the ones I will be posting here. These are just the ones Mimiteh participates in. The names are simply fictional NPCs I created out of a whim for it. So if anything does not work for you or collides with any of your stuff? Feel free to ignore it or simply say, this is just another race in the region – there could be several other races happen as well.

So, no territorial claims from me. Just some invitation to pick this up for inspiration. You need a topic to talk about? No need to talk about the weather, talk about the recent chocobo races! Want to bet on the races or make some money with it? Or lose it? Do it! I’ll see how much time I can put in here to give you some background. Some weeks it will just be the basics, sometimes I might throw in some interesting event.

This is basically like Fantasy Football with happy birds! As I never did Fantasy Football and I need to find my groove here, this might evolve over time. Don’t expect something too elaborated, because I usually build these things up step by step. I rarely do a lot of ooc pre-planning. I just improvise a lot.

Quick summary: This was an unusual race and not part of an on-going series or the season. The annual “High spirited racing” tournament in the Shroud. Several consecutive races with some weird point system for each race. In the end, points were added and the final results are as seen above. Also, special rules (very strict) to keep the spirits calm. Who could know racing could be this complicated?

How it went for Mimiteh: Surprisingly well! She complained a bit before about the weather. And to be fair, weather in the Shroud indeed is challenging for her and her chocobo. And the first three days were hard for them. But in the end, it cleared up and they finally managed to gain more points. Not enough to win, but still – a remarkable result especially in the Shroud! One of the best for the grumpy chocobo jockey in a long time. Commentators even commented on how she seemed in a way better form than she used to be – even more relentless in her pursuits and more aggressive.

Prompt #17: Fate

Logically speaking, that fact that they’d ended up in the same bar was happenstance. Logically speaking, the man’s friendship with his sister was a coincidence and nothing more. It made sense that they’d see one another around. It made sense when it just happened. And then it happened again and again and then it wasn’t just happenstance and coincidence and proximity anymore, he thought, but rather some sort of fate. Some sort of fate that led two strangers into the same places at the same times until they started going to the same places at the same times to see one another. Some sort of fate that led two people who started to care for one another into the same places at the same times together. Some sort of fate that led them to care for one another beyond what they might have thought possible.

Some sort of fate or not, he was happy that it happened.

Animal: Chocobo! That is not really a question, right? As much as she might claim to hate them, she adores them. That cheerful kweh is just the best contrast to her grumpy attitude. Not only that, she loves to ride them as they are fast and the speed, the rush of wind, the freedom - she enjoys it way too much.

Color: Black. Plain and boring. It is the color she usually wears and it is nothing to stand out too much in the crowd.

Song: The song I mostly associate with her at the moment, because that is describing her story themes mostly right now: "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten. If there was a tv show about Mimi this might be the current opening. Every line of the lyrics fits, it is uncanny! Like a small boat on the ocean Sending big waves into motion Like how a single word can make a heart open I might only have one match But I can make an explosion And all those things I didn't say Wrecking balls inside my brain I will scream them out tonight Can you hear my voice this time? Number: She does not care about numbers. She might be superstitious, but not in this regard.

Day or Night: Mimi is a Seeker of the Sun. Obviously a sunny day! Always.

Plant: Cactuar. Prickly and resilient like herself.

Smell: Chocobo, smoking herbs, coffee and light-scented perfume (to cover the chocobo smell at least a bit).

Gemstone: Rough diamond. Surely nothing refined or cut.

Season: Summer. Nothing better for a desert Miqo'te than the burning sands.

Place: Desert. She is a Sagolii Miqo'te after all!

Food: Spicy sweets. Mimi does enjoy sweets, but not when they are simply sweets. There needs to be a trick to it. Bitter coffee, alcohol, salt, pepper or something like that.

Eorzean Deity: Nald'thal. Azeyma would probably be the first association, but I like to think one step ahead for Mimi here. Because Nald'thal is also fire aspected, patron deity of Ul'dah and with his two-sided life/death theme it fits her. So it is indeed the duality of Nald'thal and not like he is worshipped in Ul'dah often separately. Due to the duality it probably might fit Mimi's own duality as well - being a tsun'dere.

Eorzean Element(s): Fire. She simply burns with emotions.

Drink: Coffee liquor. I might be a bit biased on this, because I simply love that myself. But I think it fits perfectly as a Thanalan beverage.

Lolly was left abandoned as a baby deep in the woods of North Shroud. Luckily, Lolly was found shortly afterwards, with a note by her that read "I'm sorry I failed you", by a woman who had hoped for children but circumstances never made it so, she was taken in by this older miqo'te and raised as her daughter. Though Lolly considered this woman to be her real mother, she yearned to find out more about her past, and so she decided to become an adventurer and study the art of Summoning, hoping that during her travels in the outside world, she may come across any clues that will point her in the direction of who she is and what her background truly is.

The Traveller: Lolly is well-known to travel, and very rarely is kept to one place. She meets many different people upon her travels throughout the realm, and is partial to talking to many different people in the places she visits, to learn more about the culture and history of different places in which she's never visited.

Birds of a Feather: Lolly very rarely meets other Viera, and she typically seems to be one of few in the many places she goes. It can lend to feeling out-of-place. If you're a Viera, she'd love to hear all about where you're from and your background.

A Fighter: Lolly is often roped into fighting alongside other adventurers who she doesn't know too well during her times in different places. Maybe she's roped into teaming up with you during one of her many battles?

I'm good if you want to include NSFW, but Lolly is ace, and therefore sexual situations with Lolly is off the table. However, if you want to include it for yourself and another character, maybe an NPC or something, I am fine with that, so long as you don't expect to include my WoL. But reading anything you want to include like that does not bother me.

I would like to write in one main timeline, but I'm good if the timeline is an AU like Dragonsong Reprise or such. I'm okay with steering away from canon slightly, but to base it more in the game, would like to keep it generally to the storyline.

A Living Ghost

Passing through Ishgard is always a trial. He hated this city. It was necessary if one wanted to be properly stocked and supplied for an extended study in Dravania, there was no other large city nearby with lines of supply needed. William arrived in the airship landing, staring across the bustling street toward the house of Dzemael. It was a testament to his self control that he didn't snarl at the sight of the castle banners. There was no way he'd be recognized now, half covered in scales and boasting horns and tail like an Au  Ra, though he wasn't one. Those horns were solid. His scales didn't follow Au Ra patterns, and he had holes under his horns that acted as ears. No. He was heretic. Focused partial transformations from the ingestion of dragon blood. He wondered if anyone here remembered the little ginger Elezen boy that was kept to the servants halls. Out of sight, out of mind. He wondered if any of these people were his half-brothers, waiting for their ships to a diplomatic mission, or another pointless mission to reestablish Darkhold.

The airship jerks as it finishes it docking, and Will turns his attention to the steps down to his old haunt, returning to place where he had a different name, and a different life. He tries to recall the memories of the hall of Dzemael. But he mostly remembered the fireplaces, and ashes. Were those really memories of that hall, or other houses he'd been in since. Still, a blazing fire always felt like home. And now here he was again, the haunt the streets, only a fraction of what he had been before. No longer a noble bastard. No longer an pure Wildwood Elezen, no. He'd done too much to himself to really be concerned that anymore.

He moved through the crowds exiting, aware that even now, after the end of the Dragonsong, his scaled appearance would still draw skeptical eyes. Suspicious eyes.

Of course they'd missed their opportunity to enact that suspicion long ago. He's passed by the threshold of Dzemael estate once again, move through the city that ejected him, and dream of the day he'd burn it all to the ground. He'd never really been a heretic, not really. It had been politically convenient for him to be. But he hadn't been, until they threw him out. Now, he suspected the dragons might have had the right idea, at least when it came to the high houses.

His footsteps moved away, toward the markets. He'd take a room for a few nights, organize his purchases, and begone from this place once again.
