do you have a certain place at home for reading?

no, not really. but i usually read in my bed just because that’s where i’ve been spending most of my time these days.

do you use bookmarks? if so, what kind?

i usually read on my kindle, so i haven’t used a bookmark in a while. i have one my mom gave me, though, with a kind of sewed fluffy star that’s collecting dust tucked inside my sailor moon vol 1 for when i finally stop being a procrastinator and decide to read it.

can you just stop reading or do you have to make it to the end of the chapter?

i can stop reading, but sometimes i have to go back a few pages to situate myself.

do you eat or drink while reading?

yes, i sometimes read during lunch (with quarantine i’ve been doing less of that because i have more free time to read)

music or tv reading?

i usually listen to music while reading, and it has to be music i’ve listened to before, or i get distracted by the music. i started doing that when i was little because i didn’t have a quiet place to read since i lived in a small apartment with my family and shared a bedroom with my sister. but if i’m very invested in the book it doesn’t really matter what noises are playing in the background.

one book at a time or several at once?

i usually read only one book at a time since i didn’t have that much time to read, but with quarantine i started reading two books/one book and a fic because then i can read something lighter or heavier depending on my mood.

reading at home or out?

oh, i can read anywhere. i love to read at home, but i also enjoy reading on the beach or in a park.

reading silently or out loud?

silently, definitely.

do you read ahead, skip pages?

i don’t skip pages, but apart from that i’m the worst kind of reader. i skim through ambient description and read the last page of a book to know if it's got a happy ending sometimes. and the one thing i’m most ashamed about (and that has gotten a lot easier now that i read e-books and can use the kindle’s search engine) is that i sometimes look up the romance parts of a book in advance so i know how many pages i have to read to get there.

do you mark your books?

i haven’t read a paper book in a while, but i used to be really careful with my books. i didn’t write in them. i didn’t fold dog ears in the pages. i didn’t use highlighters. i carried them around in fabric bags. they all looked like they had just been bought from a bookstore.

i love highlighting quotes with my kindle now, though. so i think that maybe if i went back to reading paper books i would have to find a way to highlight them without leaving a permanent mark hahaha maybe post its would do.
