 A kilogram of beef equals to 36kgCO2e (e stands for equivalent : takes into account Methane – CH4, N2O, etc.). With a petrol-fuelled car, this amount of C02e emissions would be achieved in approximately 18km. This means that if you eat 1kg of beef pro week (1kg is about 4 to 5 rib steak per week) for a year, it represents 1,8 tons of CO2e : more than two round trips from Paris CDG to Los Angeles by plane ! Finally, to be in phase with the Paris agreement, each individual would need to emit no more than 2 tons of CO2 per year (with 8 billion inhabitants)! When I learned about these orders of magnitude : it became obvious to me that I had to cut my beef meat consumption.

Whenever beef meat is offered at the cafeteria, or at a restaurant : I avoid it. It is not always easy, as a lot of meals contain beef.

You do not have to go full vegan to avoid beef : even a decrease in your consumption will have an impact.

 If done at a large scale, it puts pressure on the producers to adapt their production. However, one of the side effects is that it could put some farmers at risk, knowing the difficulty they already have to make ends meet.

【Yahoo論壇】斷交是一面讓人看清真相的照妖鏡

布吉納法索昨日傳出與我國斷交的消息。由於不久前才有多明尼加與我斷交，一個月內接連失去兩個邦交國，我國的邦交國數字來到歷史新低的18個。對於中國在外交上的親門踏戶，蔡英文總統野昨晚也召開記者會，強調中國的蠻橫作為已經挑戰台灣社會的底線，但我們絕對不會屈服、也不會和中國進行金錢對抗，未來將繼續走向世界，繼續與理念相近國家在經濟與安全上建立實質夥伴關係，並持續爭取國際社會的認同與支持。

邦交國被搶這件事，目前對於台灣人來說可以說是見怪不怪，因為蔡英文上台以來已經有四個友邦琵琶別抱中國，就是因為蔡不承認以「一個中國」為核心的「九二共識」。多數明事理的台灣人對此都心知肚明，對此也都有自己的判斷，認同或者不認同蔡總統，但相同的是，大家都知道無理取鬧的是中國，而不是台灣。

但是也有一方的表現，讓人覺得他們是不是活在平行時空，否則為什麼會做出如此雷人的反應？

昨日，國民黨發言人洪孟楷對台布斷交事件發表評論，他說台灣友邦是被蔡政府政治意識型態操作下給一個個給嚇跑，因此國民黨沉重呼籲蔡政府，要仔細反省並為錯誤的外交政策向全國人民道歉。

這裡我就不談什麼責怪受害者的老調了，而只想就事實的部分討論一下。因為，大家都知道，台灣特殊的國際處境是導致我們必須用錢買邦交國的主因，就是因為兩岸特殊的政治關係，因此才會有中台雙方因彼此之間關係的好壞變壞，出現相互競逐其他國家邦誼的現象。這跟洪孟楷說的意識形態操作根本風馬牛不相及。

另一方面，國民黨也常拿馬英九政府時期的「外交休兵」政策出來說嘴，說當時兩岸達成不要打外交割喉戰的共識，因此台灣的邦交國可以一直維持穩定數字，兩岸之間可以不必打損人不利己的外交仗。但你我也都非常清楚，馬政府之所以可以獲得這樣的「外交特許權」，是因為他的兩岸政策是以終極統一為目標的「九二共識」為核心，因此中國才會賣他這個面子。

也就是說，這個國民黨認為的外交成就，根本是拿意識形態去換來的，而非國民黨真的在處理兩岸關係上有什麼民進黨沒有的長才與強項。現任國民黨主席吳敦義就是最好的例子。吳上任後就一直試圖在兩岸政策上，把國民黨往台灣主體的方向拉，因此對於「九二共識」的態度一直曖昧不明，導致中國方面相當不滿，給了吳不少排頭吃。由這些對岸的壓力，吳敦義才在日前終於表態給對岸看，表示兩岸的最終目標就是統一。

所以，國民黨真的不必在這時候講一些似是而非的話想要騙讚數，台灣人知道他們當初選擇的是什麼，選了蔡英文就代表拒絕承認「九二共識」的傾中路線，這樣選擇帶來的代價是國人全體所必須承擔的。與其要向國民黨時期一樣，拿主權跟尊嚴去換邦交國數目，維持兩岸表面的和諧，現在這樣雖然血淋淋，但卻能讓國人和國際社會看清楚中國的蠻橫及國民黨的鄉愿。就像一句西諺說的：「真相將使你自由」（The truth shall set you free）。
