Sooyoung will release her first debut EP in Japan with ‘Unstoppable’ as the title track on October 30th! 😭 - Unstoppable (a dance song that gives you 2000s retro feeling) - C.A.L.M (EDM song that makes you feel sexy) - Who is in this world (a ballad song with Sooyoung’s clear voice) - Call me (a song that pushes someone’s back) The album will also come with different formats (with SG+STYLE BOOK, CD+Blu-ray, CD only), in it will released on Avex Trax 💿 Sooyoung gave an insight on how she feels while preparing the solo debut album in Japan: “I’m very excited to finally be able to make my solo debut, which I’ve always imagined. As an artist, i’m happy to collaborate with Korean and Japanese creators to create new challenges.” Beside releasing an album, Sooyoung will also held a showcase in Tokyo, Japan on 26th October 2024

Monthly Music Nov 2024!!

This one is for the Arcane-heads!! "Ma Meilleure Ennemie" by Stromae & Pomme is more Stromae, so of course i love it. Emotional and haunting, this song feels like wisps of magic curling around you, lifting you up into the clouds as the chill of condescension seeps into your skin

"Searching for Tomorrow" Coheed & Cambria. This is actually my fave of their more recent singles, feels like classic Coheed. Just solid alt rock, doesn't go too hard outside of an instrumental solo which fucks completely.

Flo released a new album! I actually haven't listened to all of it because... I haven't been in the mood but what I've listened to is all AMAZING! Highlights are AAA, In My Bag (ft GloRilla), and Nocturnal (Unlocked)(ft Bree Runway). R&B with a polish and sheen that feels makes you feel like you are in an expensive jewelry shop. Music that feels like a dress made entirely of jewels. A return to VOCALS! Love R&B without a man featured on the song btw. Just the girlies <3

"Viola" Yves. Like her last mini, this song is kpop but... not. Like it's korean pop but it's less poppy. It's hyperpoppy but not too much. It's a tad experimental but not too much. It's in a sweet spot where anyone interested in more electronic sounds should tune in. The rest of this mini is good too!

Of course, if you want a more straightforward dance track, maybe some neo soul meets electropop, "Heaven In Your Arms" Salute & Jessie Ware is a great track. Kinda bog standard but in a good way. From the intro, you'll know exactly what you're getting and it's good. Like a bite of caramel--uniform and sweet and satisfying.

Fka Twigs has been releasing songs off her next album and "Perfect Stranger" & "Drums of Death" are both excellent pieces of music. DoD is glitchy and gripping, like shooting on a rocket into the stars but the ship constantly shakes with turbulence and emergency lights strobe over your face. PS is more straightforward but just as gripping and haunting.

"Night and Day" Low Hanging Fruits. Korean indie electronic rock. Easy listening but not in a disparaging way, just like... it's a drink that goes down smooth. Something you buy pre-mixed from the liquor store and it's fruity and nice. Kinda reminds me of like... the more lowkey music in the era between Passion Pit and like... M83 and Capital Cities. Kinda like an iPod (NOT IPHONE) ad... in a good way.

Much less easy to listen to is "FUHAI" by Knosis & Hanabie. Japanese metal with a sprinkling of idol-y cuteness. It's loud and aggressive and everybody knows and nobody knows what you did to me what you did to them what i do to you you will do it right back do it right baaaaack >:O there is screaming and growling hehe but also bad "rapping" so you win some you lose some

"Unstoppable" by Sooyoung (of Girl's Generation) has an almost... mid 2000s Disney Pop Girl energy. I say this... with love in my heart. But like elevate it with some Boa influence. Makes you wanna dance. Same with "C.A.L.M."

"Touch the Moon" Toconoma. Jazzy, groovy instrumental music to relax to. Middle ground between like... the sims soundtracks and yellow magic orchestra. Just layered and complex instrumental that sprawls across you like a wave of glitter.

Somatic Exercise to Reduce Anxiety

The C.A.L.M. body scan is one of the most effective ways to begin a mindfulness meditation practice. The purpose is to tune in to your body, reconnect to your physical self, and notice any sensations you’re feeling without judgment. See below to learn more.

You can enjoy this practice sitting in a comfortable chair or laying down. Begin by taking 3 deep breaths and working through each body part, corresponding with each letter.

C - Chest: Bring your attention to your whole chest region and notice how you are breathing. Focus on flowing down the breath and breathing from your belly.

A - Arms: Bring your attention to your arms, starting at your fingertips and noticing how they feel. Do they feel numb, relaxed, or tense?

L - Legs: Bring your attention to your legs, starting at the top of your hips. Notice the sensations here, moving up and down while breathing gently.

M - Mouth: Bring your attention to your mouth. Is your jaw clenched, are your lips pursed and is your tongue relaxed? Start by relaxing your jaw, then your tongue, and then your lips as you breathe gently.

I’m so indecisive that ranking every single 5SOS song in existence would be incredibly difficult for me. So, instead, I’ve decided to rank their songs by albums. Just the full length albums since they have so many EPs out there. These rankings are based soley on the studio versions of these songs not the live ones, which is why LIVESOS isn’t on this list. Remember, these are just my personal preferences. Just because they are ranked lower on the list doesn’t mean they’re bad songs, just that I don’t listen to them as often as I do/love them as much as the ones before them. General Comments: SLSP in my opinion is just overplayed and it gets annoying for me to listen to after a while if I’m being honest. It’s a great song, but I’m probably gonna skip it if i’m listening to their entire discography. Also, I don’t hate Mrs. All American as much as everyone else. Maybe it’s because I’m American and when the album came out I was like ‘OMG MY AUSSIE BOYS ARE TALKING ABOUT AMERICAN GIRLS AHH’. But, even with the terrible Minivan line, it’s a BOP!

General Comments: I will never skip Castaway, EVER. It is AMAZING! Please don’t hate me for JBH being in the middle or Girl Who Cried Wolf being towards the bottom. They are beautiful songs, but I am more likely to listen to the top 5 or so. Also, relistening to this album really makes me beg for more Michael solos. There really isn’t enough of him or Youngblood or CALM and I just need more. I love you Luke and Cal, but GIVE ME MORE MICHAEL. And Ash. Really just give me more of everyone singing. I love you Luke Hemmings and your beautiful voice, but I miss hearing everyone frequently on the album.

General Comments: I know the boys love Moving Along, but I skip it frequently. I really don’t know what it is that makes me want to skip it, but I do. I’M SORRY. Valentine has grown on me the more I listen to the album, but not enough. But If Walls Could Talk and Empty Wallets have been my jams from the first time I listened to the album, and I will never not love them with all my heart. Also, Woke Up in Japan is just fun to me.

General Comments: This album is a blessing! I cannot tell you how many times I’ve listened to it on repeat since it dropped at the beginning of quarantine. Best Years and Lover of Mine just make my heart swell. I cannot even describe my overwhelming appreciation for them. They are just absolutely wonderful. This whole album is absolutely wonderful. Easier is at the bottom only because the Live From the Vault ruined the original for me. I’ll still listen to the studio version, but the Live from the Vault is spectacular and will always be incredibly superior to the OG. Sorry not sorry.

Because a life lived in fear is equal to no life at all, I won't gamble my life on the fickle world of 'what will they think' and wake up one day thinking I have wasted the wonderful fact of my own existence.
