Laws:

18+ only, no minors, no exceptions. Mun is a dinosaur by Tumblr standards. This means that I also expect you to act like a mature adult, as well. I’m not here for your drama, your politics, or anything else that doesn’t involve writing, plotting, and friendly conversation. I'm not saying those topics aren't of great importance. This just isn't where I want to find them.

I attempt to tag content as thoroughly as I feel is needed, but if there’s something you directly would like tagged, just let me know. There will be mentions of sensitive matters, such as fantasy-based racial discriminations, drug usage, and other touchy matters. Reminder that mun does not equal muse on these topics.

I primarily write multi-para and novella style. Quick shot/short roleplays aren’t really my thing, unless it’s dashcrack or something small with an already well established writing partner.

Please type correctly. Weirdly spaced words, excessively colored italic fonts, and all lowercase/uppercase whatnots are extremely difficult for those of us to read who have any sort of dyslexia or bad vision. Accessibility is not one size fits all.

I’m not here to compete with duplicates, nor am I attempting to steal anyone’s writing partners. I am not exclusive.

No threads are connected unless previously discussed. Each one is it’s own stand-alone setting, which includes plotted events and ships, unless previously discussed.

I don’t follow multi-muse blogs unless I know the mun or they’ve been strongly recommended to me. I know they’re very convenient for some people, but… (a.) I have ADHD and they scatter my headspace a lot. (b.) I don’t really care to have an array of muses I have little or no interest in on my dash. (c.) I prefer stand-alone blogs where the mun has put so much time and devotion into that one muse. (I’ve literally seen multis where the mun didn’t even know their most active character’s canon birthday.)

I won’t hesitate to make this space my own. If you make me uncomfortable with passive-aggressiveness, gaslighting, or anything of that nature, I will block you.

I use icons (sometimes) and standard small font, but I don’t mind it others don’t. However, entire lowercase replies, fancy fonts, tiny fonts, and wide spacing are difficult for my old lady vision and dyslexia.

This blog is panfandom. The only exceptions are blogs related to/containing Disney, Hazbin, or MCU content. I won’t follow these. I won’t explain why. That business is mine.

I am slow as hell. Please don’t be an asshole about it.

J: JEALOUSY. does your muse get jealous in a relationship?

Nope! She trusts them 100%. Eva doesn’t like to restrict her partner in any way, all she asks is that they be open with her; if her partner goes behind her back, then that’s more of a failing of theirs than anything (though she’d no doubt be insecure at the time).

As a matter of fact, she and Jack do have their own poly ships on this blog, interestingly enough. Jack can have a side piece as long as everyone is cool with each other.

A: AFFECTION. how does your muse show affection?

Lots of ways. Eva’s an affectionate person by nature; she shows her love through gifts and acts of service to everyone she cares about, not just her partner, so at times it can be hard to tell whether she loves you or just wants to make sure you’re taken care of.

Eva does have trauma around touch. If her bond with someone is deep enough, though, she’s fully capable of being physically affectionate - she just has a lot of rules she needs to abide by. She needs to be the person initiation contact, and if her partner wants to, they need to ask, otherwise she’ll get uncomfortable at best or scared at worst. Generally if they ask, she’ll accept, though.

She doesn’t really do PDA. She’s shy.

Jack Rutherford, of course, is an exception to every single one of these rules.

C: CHOCOLATE. does your muse like chocolate? which one is their favourite?

She does! Eva doesn’t like how cloying American chocolate is, so she tends to veer towards expensive foreign stuff if she can get her hands on it, but her favorite varieties are dark chocolates and anything with fruit filling. If you get her cherry cordials - or, god forbid, make them for her - she is in your pocket forever.

K: KISS. is your muse a good kisser? why / why not?

This is verse dependent actually! In canon and modern verses, she’s got a lot of experience from Jack, so she’s pretty good at it. Eva’s very intuitive when it comes to her partner, so if she does something wrong she usually corrects it before they can even point it out to her. It can take a little bit to get on a new partner’s wavelength, but once they get adjusted to each other it’s generally pretty smooth sailing.

In her Fate verses where Jack isn’t present, though, she’s completely new to it. While not as skilled as she is otherwise, she’s still intuitive to her partner, so she’s a quick learner. When first kissing someone she’s very shy and gentle; it’s actually really endearing.

Without further ado - here are our acceptances. We are truly overwhelmed by the interest in this RP, and thank you endlessly for your patience. You’ll see below which plots have been assigned to your character(s). 

We tried very hard to make sure that we could give everyone the plots they chose, but we ended up with a lot of overlap between plots that had several first choice applications, but those were also backups to several players. Who knew how many muses were prone to having bad days at coffee shops?

There are some muses that we will require additional plots from - meaning you applied to start with 2 but we were unable to find 2 that fit for you. Everyone has at least 1 that was a first choice or backup choice! I apologize if anyone is disappointed with the plots they have been given, or not receiving your first choice, but, again, we did make sure that every plot assigned to every player was in your primary or backup choice. If you’ve been asked to submit a new plot choice, we plan to post a new batch of plots this weekend, so you may select something now or wait until these new plots are posted.

Regardless, we are now ready to receive accounts, so please see the NEW MEMBER CHECKLIST and when you are ready, submit your accounts to the main. We open for interaction tomorrow and will make an announcement when we are ready to do so.

Will Williams or “The Purloined Poem”

  Exordium

               It is a mishap of history greatly to be regretted that the name of Will Williams, or as he preferred to style himself, Will (I am! See!) Williams, has been blotted from the minds of lovers of letters throughout the world.  The life of a young person from the suburban streets of West Bend, Wisconsin might be imagined to admit of little drama, and certainly such a one could hardly be expected to rise to such literary greatness as to find himself placed among the representatives of the pantheon of modern poetic genius.  Such has been the case with Will Williams.  From his humble upbringing as the son of shopkeepers, to his school days at the Institute of Modern Plumbing in Oshkosh, it might have been anticipated of him that he would settle into the humdrum and monotonous, if comfortable, existence of a small town radiator repairman.  And so fickle is the poetic muse that such has been his fate in the minds of those who remember him at all, though not without lively, and at times desperate, resistance on the part of Will Williams himself.  Who now recalls his early work, the poems of such experimental verve as “I C Threw U,” “Hangover at Nine O’clock,” or “Pipes and Poultices,” read before the assembled members of the local West Bend chapter of The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices and published in the Summer 1921 issue of the State Union Trade Quarterly?

             Occasio, the Roman goddess of chance and opportunity, passes the unlucky if they do not swiftly reach forth their hands and seize her forelock as she rushes by.  It was Will Williams’s fate to meet the goddess when he was most discomposed by a week of hard work and a night of hard drinking.  By the time he had summoned enough courage to pull himself from his stupor and reach for her, his grasping hand met the hairless back of the goddess’s head.  On a Tuesday morning in the spring of 1922, at a bedside desk in a motel room on the highway just outside of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Will Williams composed a most remarkable poem.  The reader at all acquainted with Williams’s work will immediately recognize in this poem the familiar rhythm, the command and breathlessness, one might even venture to say the grandeur, of a poem which would prove to be Williams’s greatest, though it was his misfortune to have it crowned with laurels to the benefit and honor of a different poet.  This masterpiece is here offered in its original form for the first time:

 So much deep ends up

On a Red Wheel bar . . .

Rogue!  Lazed with rye ‘n’ water!

Be!

    Textual Explication

               Readers unacquainted with the work of Will Williams may welcome a close reading of this poem.  Williams’s oeuvre has been known to present grave difficulties to audiences unfamiliar with the poet’s shifting strategies in perspective, voice, and literary allusion.  The following exegesis is an attempt to allow the reader confronted with this work for the first time, as must necessarily be true in such a case as this, where the poet has not had the benefit of having his poem published in its original form and has not, therefore, achieved the recognition which is most certainly his due, to read it with the depth of understanding such a masterpiece demands.

             The Red Wheel† was a bar of some notoriety in the town of West Bend, Wisconsin.  Will Williams was known to have frequented this bar, which was also comprised of a basement bar of some secrecy in the era of prohibition in addition to its bar at the street level.  Visitors have often described Williams holding forth at the bar upon the fatal limitations of formal verse over a glass of whiskey and soda until late in the evening.   Mrs. Barbara O’Hare, Williams’s landlady, has left a pertinent account of one morning when she found him on the stoop outside the front door, clothes and hair disheveled, and muttering of how he had left a sheaf of papers, as well as his wallet, on the bar at the Red Wheel.

             Ejaculations like “Rogue!” and “Lazed by rye ‘n’ water!” allow us to see Williams in his most self-revelatory mood.  The clever use of the word rogue, not only portraying its speaker as self-accusatory and self-deprecating, contributes to the poem’s Renaissance-like effects.  Williams has chosen a label that particularly identifies himself with Falstaffian foolishness and bravado and points to its cause:  the soporific effects of whiskey (rye) and soda (water).

             “Be!” is a line of such command that it unifies and ends the whole crescendo of the first three lines of the poem.  Again Williams reaches for Shakespearean effects and proves himself a Hamlet of the first order.  Here, he comes down with force on one side of the equation in the famous soliloquy with a voice of such reformative desire and such tragic recognition that decrescendo can now be the only option left to the poet.  And the falling motion presents itself in the last line, accompanied by a subtly ellipsed and parenthetical sigh which announces the end of hope:  “the wide check ends,” a despairing resignation in the face of insufficient funds, talent wasted, energy spent, bar tab canceled.  The poem’s rise and fall evince a motion that ties the speaker and his fate to the tragic stage of antiquity, a picture of the hero and his pathetic end.

   Peroratio

               Will Williams was to have presented this poem at a meeting of the Association of Traditional Plumbing in Rutherford, New Jersey in 1922.  Witnesses have described him rising from his seat, walking with uncertain steps past the statue of Pan in the center of the room, and peering about the hall in some perturbation as the hum of conversation gradually hushed.  He raised his head as if on the verge of reciting and then fell to his knees and onto his side, his face aflush with excitement. In his hand he grasped the sheet of paper which contained his unread poem.  A local doctor, also a poet as many witnesses can now attest, rushed forward and held Williams in his arms until he had stopped breathing.  The original poem has not been brought to light until now.

weeks after haven has fallen, cullen is still writing letters to the loved ones of those who didn’t make it. 

it’s a slow-going process. his regular duties take up most if not all of the hours of his days. establishing their presence and routines at skyhold takes time. the excavation at haven takes time. finding out who is lost takes time. finding out who and where people’s loved ones are takes time. 

writing each letter takes time. deserves to take time. he makes sure every single letter has an anecdote of the fallen, even if it’s just the smallest moment he can conjure from his memory. someone’s smile, a frown of concentration, a helping hand, a story shared to lighten the spirits among the new recruits. anything the family might recognize as belonging to the fallen. it’s the final piece he can offer them.

the task is quiet, and mostly private. leliana knows. josephine knows. they offer to help, write some of the letters, but cullen gently refuses their help. this is part of the position. part of his duty. and it serves as an important reminder in the days that follow.

every person matters. every person comes from somewhere. every person has someone who loves them, misses them, hopes they’ll come home safely one day. and if they do not, they have a right to know when, and how, if not why. he can give them a few answers, at the very least.
