@despairedntroubled
Niobe hadn’t had fun like this in some time. Her own fault, truly for not letting people close enough to her. She’d come out assuming she’d be bored to tears, instead she is laughing and smiling genuinely.
“You know, I’m glad I didn’t stay home like I planned. I would’ve missed out on this and that would have been a travesty,” Bee says as she calms herself, the sunny disposition not waning.

C126 The compass points to Tetanus! from CEO Carter
Sheffield Iron Sheffield is a town, city, and borough in Yorkshire, England. It derives its name from the local Sheaf River and is about 160 miles north by northwest of London. It was known for its steel and world renowned cutlery. The local iron ore was smelted with charcoal got from the nearby abundant woodlands, and smiths and cutlers used the excellent local sandstone for…

Clematis "Blue Bird".
A perennial variety, bred in 1970. Of course, it is not blue, but purple, with a blue tint on a cloudy day. It is a very unpretentious plant and can withstand frosts of -35 °C.💜
The fragrance of the flowers is faint, almost imperceptible, but it reminds me of honey🍯
My previous notes on clematis👇😺

Niobe is worried, and rightly so. Noah had gone from a vibrant life to someone trapped inside their own nightmares. Part of her wonders if he'd come out of his shell if she were more adamant about it. But, she's seen this before, hell it's been her before. A single enlistment had left her shattered. It took years for her to have more good days than bad ones. Double that to even start thinking about living life again, really living not going through the motions.
Trust her to get caught up with a military man and watch the same thing happen to him. Different situations, same results.
"Noah," Niobe sighs out and leans forward from her spot beside him, half turned to him, her elbows on her knees. "I know what this is like. I just want to help - I care about you, and this....silence, it's not you. If you don't want to talk to me, come to group with me at least? Just listen, you don't have to share anything. I'm worried."
Muse: Noah Katz (35+), ‘Colonel Noah Katz’ (FC: Joel Kinnaman test muss)
Connections: Therapist, Girlfriend, Wife, Ex-Wife/Girlfriend, Friend, Coworker, whatever you can think of that fits. (F if romantic, can also throw kids in there to if you wanted some spice or pregnancy. Go crazy with connections.)
Plot: Noah has been on multiple tours for the military, but in his most recent he had gotten stuck in a explosion on a secret op. Almost dying, PTSD Stucken, and secretive nature has caused him to be discharged, and your muse is trying to coax him to talk/help him. @indiestarter
The best way to describe Noah, is he’s always been well ‘Noah’. You would hear stories about the man being the damn life of the party, far from the military stereotype of some hard ass who thought he was a million times better than you because of what he did, but now? Now seemed like Noah was a shell of that guy. Hell no one blamed him, being caught in the blast of IED explosion, and the only surviving one it’s sure to fuck up your psyche. It been months now, and you’d be surprised to even have him utter a word unless he was spoken to first. He was managing to be living on his own, but it didn’t drown out any of the lingering nights were the nightmares struck. The panicked awaking, nights where he find himself taking ‘shelter’ if there been a loud noise from the hustle nightlife of the city.
He didn’t know how they manage to get him here, sitting on couch that was so comfortable that for him it felt so uncomfortable, and basking in a momentary awkward silence. “So you wanna have me to address the elephant in the room..” His voice sounded hoarse as he spoke like it hadn’t been used in ages, but the deepest to his voice was still apparent. “Great.” He muttered more to himself, as he shifted in the couch like he was trying to get comfortable, before a heavy sigh left his lips. “I don’t wanna talk about what happen.”

Playchoices MCs - Part 11
Previous | Next
artist notes under the cut
Niobe Chase (TPA) | She puts James Bond to shame. I gave her a different stealth outfit because I'm tired of PB drowning female MCs in crop tops. There are other shirt types, thank you very much. Also scars and ✨muscles✨ because MCs deserve to be shredded too.
Gwyneira (GUIN) | If PB gives me a historical book, I will look up historical outfits and throw out every outfit PB gave me. It is a fact of life. Gwyneira's gown is a combination of Eleanor of Aquitaine's tomb effigy and some inspiration from 12th c. English queens. I went with 12th century fashion because that's when Guinevere is first mentioned in literature.
Fumie Ueno (KOD) | I cannot tell you the annoyance I felt after having lightly researched the Yakuza because I wanted to use the new Asian face in the book, given my MC a well though out Japanese name, only for me to open the book and see that her father's name is Beckham and her brother's name is Clyde. Her default name is Diamond. Make it make sense. I changed the gold to silver in her outfit because if goes better with her skin tone. I also gave her F!Trystan's snake earrings.
Maxine "Max" Thompson (GG) | Listen, I did the math. I'm declaring that Max's parents named her after Maxine Shaw (Attorney at Law) from Living Single. Max takes Type A personality to a whole new level and I love her for it.
Amika Fuller (RWB) | I was contractually obligated to put a red solo cup somewhere in Amika's portrait. I clearly decided to I wanted to practice rendering patterns for this set of MCs because I just noticed that 5/6 have a pattern somewhere on their clothes.
Cheyney Latimore (FCL) | Miss Steal-Your-Girl herself. Listen, she's messy, but she's my mess. The pins on her hiking bag are as follows: the flag for the state of Georgia (because I headcanon that the characters when to Clark Atlanta University instead of just Clark University), a pressed penny, the symbol of Uranus (it's a Sailor Moon reference), the lesbian pride flag, and the pin for Arches National Park.

The Spinnaker
A spinnaker is a large triangular sail set on a spar that swings out opposite the mainsail, used on yachts when running before the wind. Spinnakers are made of lightweight fabric and they can be designed by the shape of the panels and seams to work best as either a reaching or running spinnaker. They are attached at only three points and are considered flown.
Some dictionaries believe that the origin of the word goes back to the first vessel that commonly sailed with a spinnaker, a cutter yacht called the Sphinx, which was mispronounced as a spinx. The Sphinx first set its spinnaker in the Solent in 1865, and the word was first used in 1866. There is also a theory that the sail was called Sphinx's acre and was then mispronounced and became the spinnaker.
Cutter Yacht Sphinx, 47 Tons off Southsea. Winning the Albert Cup 1866, by William Foster, c. 1867
Another suggestion is that the idea for the sail was developed in 1865 by William Gordon, the owner of the racing yacht Niobe. He wanted to name the sail after his yacht, but the remark of a crew member, "Now there's a sail that will make her turn", became "spin maker", which developed into the "spinnaker".
However, it has been pointed out that the skippers of the Thames sailing vessels also used the term "spinnaker" for their jibstay sails. Unlike the other tanned sails of these boats, the spinnakers were usually white in colour. It has therefore been suggested that the term "may be connected with the obsolete word spoon, meaning to run before the wind (cf. spindrift)". Early use of the verb to spoon can be traced back to the 16th century; the change from spoon to spin in the term spindrift is attributed to a local Scottish pronunciation. However, according to Merriam Webster's dictionary, spindrift derives from a local Scottish pronunciation of speen (not spoon), which means "to sail before a strong wind" but the origin of the word spinnaker is simply unknown.

niobe, the humbled river rock (asteroid 71)
Niobe was the daughter of Tantalus and Dione and the wife of Amphion, a king of Thebes. Per Homer's Iliad, Niobe had seven sons and seven daughter and proclaimed herself as better than the Titan Leto, during a sacrificial ceremony to the titaness, because of her fertility. To humble her, Leto's twins, Apollo and Artemis, killed her children. In some accounts, a child survives, but in most cases, the myth concludes with Amphion seeing his dead children and killing himself in despair. Niobe wanders to Mount Sipylus where she becomes what is referred to as the Weeping Rock - a porous limestone rock in which rainwater frequently falls through, like tears down a face. IN MY OPINION Niobe in your chart can represent a) a proud mother, b) where you bring women down, c) grief regarding children, and/or d) generational curses.
i encourage you to look into the aspects of niobe along with the sign, degree, and house placement. for the more advanced astrologers, take a look at the persona chart of niobe AND/OR add the other characters involved to see how they support or impede niobe!

Niobe chews at her lip for a moment. "Can you keep a secret Sophie?"
It's not much of a secret all told, but not's not something Bee makes known regularly either. After all, there are many people who would try to use the knowledge for things she didn't approve of. And she loathes having to get messy for the sake of silence.
-
Sophie smiled as she looked over the photo, glancing up at the other after a moment. “How is it that you always look so perfect? You always look so… angelic.”

"The mother, with all her robes and with her body, protected her, and cried out, "Leave me just one, the youngest! I only ask for one, the youngest of all!" While she prayed, she, for whom she prayed, was dead. Childless, she sat among the bodies of her sons, her daughters, and her husband, frozen in grief.
The breeze stirs not a hair, the colour of her cheeks is bloodless, and her eyes are fixed motionless in her sad face: nothing in that likeness is alive. Inwardly her tongue is frozen to the solid roof of her mouth, and her veins cease their power to throb. Her neck cannot bend, nor her arms recall their movement, nor her feet lead her anywhere. Inside, her body is stone. Yet she weeps, and, enclosed in a powerful whirlwind, she is snatched away to her own country: there, set on a mountain top, she wears away, and even now tears flow from the marble." (Ovid)

@mxrvelouscreations said “ if i were to kiss someone, it would be you. “
She blinks slowly at Sophie after that declaration. Niobe isn’t one to make demonstrations of affection, so she hadn’t quite known what to make of her friendship with Sophie. Now she feels a touch off balance. Was this a request, masked as a statement? Was it just a statement, flattering as it is?
The nephilim-come-succubus tilts her head and inhales sorting herself out. “I have to admit that I don’t know if you’re subtly asking for a kiss, or simply stating you trust me, are comfortable with me. Or if it’s both. I’ll need some clarification.

FRIENDS AS ARTWORKS PART THREE: for ves ( @gojovrse )
NIOBID KRATER by niobid painter
Attic red-figure calyx-krater
c. 460-50 BCE
54 cm x 56 cm
Currently located in the Musée du Louvre
It is a Krater, which is a Grecian bowl specifically designed for mixing wine and water. It was also specifically designed to mimic the calyx of a flower.
The different demarcated layers of the outer surface area of the piece, along with the intricate patterns on the cusp and base layers, displays the pot’s scenery and artistic content to the highest extent.
There’s two different sides of the vase with different stories, so I’ll explain them both.
Front Side of the Vase: It depicts Artemis and Apollo shooting the children of a mortal woman Niobe because she gloated about how her children were more beautiful than Leto, the mother of Artemis and Apollo. The two siblings tracked them down and then shot them in the name of their mother. To emphasize the difference in status, Artemis and Apollo have perfect side-profiles, while their victims have varied front and three fourths views. The figures have a stiffness to them that contradicts the brutal slaughtering. Apollo looks mechanical even though he’s literally drawing a bow. But my favorite part is the difference between the women and men on the front side. The women are all fully clothed, while the men are naked. It has been speculated that this is because Artemis was asexual; therefore, if a man were to have seen her naked then she would have blinded them. So, all of the women are clothed to mimic Artemis, while the men mimicked Apollo in the clothing sense.
Back Side of the Vase: It depicts a scene of various warriors, including the goddess Athena, surrounding Hercules. Athena can be identified by her spear and helmet. While Hercules is identified through his club and lion-skin, both of which are features common in his mythos. While back side contains multiple ground lines, Hercules sits smack in the middle of it, indicating an attempt to replicate realistic perspective in Grecian art. The entire depiction on the back side is in complete contrast to the front side, which I view as a stylistic choice. The choice displays the range of gods and their emotions.
Besides the Artemis fun fact, the “fun” part about the entire piece was that it depicted murder and worship on a wine brewer which is really funny.

Anicet Charles Gabriel Lemonnier (male; 6 June 1743 – 17 August 1824) was a well-known French painter of historical subjects who was active before, during and after the French Revolution.
Lemonnier was born in Rouen on 6 June 1743. He was a pupil of Jean-Baptiste Descamps at the Rouen School of Fine Arts, then of Joseph-Marie Vien, where he had as classmates and friends Jacques-Louis David and François-André Vincent. With a pleasing appearance, much natural wit and excellent recommendations he was soon admitted into the best society in the capital, especially in the salon of Marie Thérèse Rodet Geoffrin, who took a liking to him. In 1772 he exhibited The Children of Niobe killed by Apollo and Diana, a work that won him the Prix de Rome.
He lived in Rome, as a licensee of the Government, from 1774 to 1784. In this country of the arts, Lemonnier found a home full of kindness with the famous poet diplomat, Cardinal de Bernis, and devoted himself with enthusiasm to the study of masterpieces of the masters, from which he drew inspiration for the design and composition that is distinctive of his talent.
Back in France, Lemonnier returned to his hometown where he painted one of his best pictures, the Plague of Milan, for the chapel of the Seminary of Saint-Vivien. In 1786, during the visit of Louis XVI to Rouen on his return from Cherbourg, Lemonnier was commissioned to paint a picture whose subject was the presentation of the members of the Rouen Chamber of Commerce to the monarch. Soon after, he performed for the same company a large allegorical painting representing the engineering trade and the discovery of America. In 1789 Lemonnier was named to the Academy of Painting for his work la Mort d’Antoine (the Death of Anthony).
During the French Revolution, Lemonnier was called to be part of the Committee on Monuments, and in 1794 he obtained the title of the cabinet painter of the School of Medicine. Related to Roland, on 4 December 1792 Lemonnier received from the minister a position at the Louvre which placed him on the Arts Commission, where he rendered great service. In Rouen he was charged, with his compatriot Charles Le Carpentier, to examine art works removed from suppressed religious institutions in the district and select those that should avoid destruction. He discharged this critical mission with great zeal, and it is due to Lemonnier that several churches and the museum of Rouen now possess many of the best paintings he managed to collect. In 1810 Lemonnier became director of the Gobelins Manufactory, a position he lost in 1816. He also took an active part in establishing the Museum of Fine Arts of Rouen. He died in Paris on 17 August 1824.
Lemonnier's son, André-Hippolyte Lemonnier, was a man of letters who wrote, among other things, a historical record of the life and works of A.-C.-G. Lemonnier. Lemonnier's portrait is in the collection of Rouen Library.

A) to board Snowpiercer as a third class passenger
B) workcard for the Nostromo under Captain Dallas
C) Operator for the Logos under Captain Niobe
D) Workcard as a porter specifically assigned to Hercules Poirot on the Orient Express
I think D, because I am most likely to survive in the Orient Express universe compared to the others!
