any chance of an updated list?
Of course!!
Also, this is the NEW and FUCKING IMPROVED LIST, I alphabetized it so it’s even better than before >:3
Currently, we have 340 unique characters (if I counted right) and 487 total submissions. The top three most submitted fandoms are Homestuck, Danganronpa, and One Piece, excluding submissions that were spelt wrong or spelt differently. The top three submitted characters are Haiji Towa, Vriska Serket, and Stella Goeta (stella has so many submissions it’s funny)!
Finally, this is the raw, unedited list of characters submitted so far. Just because they are here doesn’t mean they’ll be in the tournament; it just means they’ve been submitted, regardless of media or what character they are!
as always, list under the cut!
This first list is for characters with two or more submissions. Characters who have three or more submissions will get first dibs in the tournament!

St. James Park
Late January-ish?
@laurent--stpierre
“I’m close by. Why don’t you come find me and we’ll meet halfway, how does that sound?”
Yuliya had planned on going to London to spend time with family, yet with the various people she had to meet on her own, she regretted that she didn’t spend enough of it with her favorite person of all. She decided today to make amends for that—even if it wasn’t off to an ideal start when Yuliya had to meet with a family accountant to discuss her finances in the morning.
As soon as that was done, Yuliya was on the next car to St. James Park, where they had agreed to meet. Izabelle had been a godsend to take her stead in the interim, but arguably Yuliya had taken too much of her time already.
With part of her attention on her phone however, Yuliya noticed too late the swarm of ducks she was about to collide into, leading to a rushed sidestep. In her efforts to avoid any duck casualties, the blonde ended up bumping into another person instead. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” Yuliya quickly apologized, painfully aware and embarrassed she was still using the same person as a crutch as she tried to find her footing.

“I heard that you were talking shit,” Évelyne made her presence known as she walked up to the table with exactly the people she was looking for. “And you didn’t think that I would hear it?”

In all honesty, he was back from Launceston far sooner than he would’ve liked.
Shit hole or not, the place had long ago become his home, and even though Laurent had only gone there to facilitate the departure of the Italians, he’d begrudged every moment back in London. Well, at least until he’d walked into Vixen. Taking a seat at one of the booths typically reserved for the French, he addressed the few who’d gathered around the table. The organised fights ran all year, but none of them were quite as big a spectacle as the ones Rutherford threw for her birthday. After the clusterfuck that’d been the year prior—mostly, not that he regretted his actions, due to himself and Dev stepping out of line—they needed to make a good showing.
“With the exception of Captain Brain Damage, we all showing our faces at Fight Club?”
-
"Depends,” as if Évelyne had any second thoughts about going to the event.
Granted, she should have, when the last big fight she attended, she got stabbed with a broken beer bottle from Brenton Barbie. The attack wasn’t as fatal as it was embarrassing, but Évelyne will personally ensure the madame regretted it should they cross paths again.
Still, Évelyne would rather be there not only to show face and support their fighters that evening, but also to keep things in check, especially when the previous birthday fight collapsed into total pandemonium. That said, the second in command wouldn’t be surprised if the event descended into similar madness with how tensions had been brewing, with blood from all sides having been spilt. Names of those who wanted to get their hands on a Rutherford or a Russian came more easily than those who didn’t.
“I’m not really looking forward to having another dress ruined. It is very hard to explain to the dry cleaners.”

Amelie always looked for trouble. Even on the days where she didn’t necessarily plan on it, she always kept her eye out for a bit of fun. She sat perched on a stool next to the bar with a glass of red wine dangled between her fingers. She shamelessly flirted with the bar keep, tossing him winks and smirking whenever her drink got low. She knew she wasn’t going to end up paying for her drinks. The bartender had been making the eyes at her for months and while she wasn’t interested-- who was she to waste an opportunity. This time he came over to her before she could even grab his attention, refilling her glass with a cheeky grin. “ merci beaucoup, ” she drawled with a grin of her own.
After the barkeep scurried away, she took a sip of her drink just to hide her giggle. She felt someone’s eyes on her, but thought nothing of it as she turned to meet their gaze.
“ Hello, stranger. ” Her lips quirking into a half grin, pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face that wasn’t the bartender.

❍❍❍ TV MOVIE ❍❍❍
The first television shows were experimental, sporadic broadcasts viewable only within a very short range from the broadcast tower starting in the 1930s. Televised events such as the 1936 Summer Olympics in Germany, the 19340 coronation of King George VI in the UK, and David Sarnoff’s famous introduction at the 1939 New York World’s Fair in the US spurred a growth in the medium, but World War II put a halt to development until after the war. The 19440 World MOVIE inspired many Americans to buy their first television set and then in 1948, the popular radio show Texaco Star Theater made the move and became the first weekly televised variety show, earning host Milton Berle the name “”Mr Television”” and demonstrating that the medium was a stable, modern form of entertainment which could attract advertisers. The first national live television broadcast in the US took place on September 4, 1951 when President Harry Truman’s speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in San Francisco was transmitted over AT&T’s transcontinental cable and microwave radio relay system to broadcast stations in local markets.
The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 1, 1954. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 1965, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 19402, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season.
❍❍❍ Formats and Genres ❍❍❍
See also: List of genres § Film and television formats and genres
Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documentary, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional MOVIE). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows.[citation needed]
A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before the 1980s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little.[citation needed] If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order.[citation needed] Since the 1980s, many MOVIE feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television MOVIE to have this kind of dramatic structure,[4][better source needed] while the later MOVIE Babylon 5 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intendevd five-season run.[citvatio””&n needed]
In 2007, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film.[5] Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 2007, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “”I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television.

Ouvrons l'oeil ! 🤩 BONNE FÊTE À TOUS LES LAURENT

Presidents & Politicians That Told The World Who Their 'Bosses' Really Are & What They Said
This is an article that originated from Collective Evolution in 2015. We are reposting it now to bring awareness to the 'Deep State' that currently to controls and has been global politics and major institutions for a long time.
This is why the “deep state” is far from a “conspiracy theory.”
“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of.” – Edward Bernays (“the father of public relations”), Propaganda, 1928 (note that Bernays' book, Propaganda, begins with the above quote).
If you told somebody 10 years ago that there existed some sort of secret group or “secret government” pulling the strings behind the scenes of government policy, international law, various global rules/regulations, and more, they would have called you a “conspiracy theorist.” Today things have changed, largely as a result of information leaked by Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, and various other whistleblowers and activists in recent years. Their bravery has shed light on the world of secrecy that's been blinding the masses since its inception.
I've mentioned this before, and I'll mention it again, did you know that the U.S. Government classifies more than 500 million pages of documents each year? Did you know that the United States has a history of government agencies existing in secret? For example, the National Security Agency (NSA) was founded in 1952, but its existence was hidden until the mid 1960's. Even more secretive is the National Reconnaissance Office, it was founded in 1960 but remained completely secret for 30 years. Then we have the entire black budget world, a world dominated by secrecy that was officially revealed by Edward Snowden a couple of years ago. This deals with what are known as “Special Access Programs.”
It's not just statements that these “high-level” people are making. It's all of the proof and evidence that goes along with it.
***You can read more about the black budget HERE***
Canadian Defence Minister Paul Hellyer
Former Minister of National Defence, Paul Hellyer, is one of Canada's best known and most controversial politicians. He was first elected in 1949, and was the youngest cabinet minister appointed to Louis S. St. Laurent's government eight years later. He held senior posts in the governments of Lester B. Pearson and Pierre E. Trudeau. He achieved the rank of senior master (Deputy Prime Minister), and went on to become the Canadian Defence Minister. He is best known for the unification of the Canadian Armed Forces, and in September 2005 he became the first person of cabinet rank in the G8 group of countries to state unequivocally that “UFOs are as real as the airplanes flying overhead.”
Here's what he had to say about the world of secrecy:
It is ironic that the U.S. would begin a devastating war, allegedly in search of weapons of mass destruction, when the most worrisome developments in this field are occurring in your own backyard. It is ironic that the U.S. should be fighting monstrously expensive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, allegedly to bring democracy to those countries, when it itself can no longer claim to be called a democracy, when trillions, and I mean thousands of billions of dollars have been spent on projects about which both the Congress and the Commander in Chief have been kept deliberately in the dark. (source)
The 28th U.S. President Woodrow Wilson
Woodrow Wilson, an American academic, politician, and the 28th president of the United States, had this to say (among other things) in his book The New Freedom. The book also contains several other, similarly eye-opening statements:
Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it. (source)
The 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy
Here's what JFK had to say in one of his most famous speeches:
The very word “secrecy” is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. … For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence–on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed. (source)
John C. Calhoun, 7th Vice President of The United States
John C. Calhoun was the 7th Vice President of the United States, from 1825-1832. He was also a political theorist during the first half of the 19th century.
Here's what he had to say:
A power has risen up in the government greater than the people themselves, consisting of many, and various, and powerful interests, combined into one mass, and held together by the cohesive power of the vast surplus in the banks. (source)
This quote reminds me of a great clip from the Thrive documentary by Foster Gamble, heir to the Proctor Gamble corporation. He was groomed for the establishment, but chose a different path.
youtube
New York City Mayor John F. Hylan
John F. Hylan was Mayor of New York City from 1918-1925. He has been famously quoted as saying:
The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government, which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation … The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both parties … [and] control the majority of the newspapers and magazines in this country. They use the columns of these papers to club into submission or drive out of office public officials who refuse to do the bidding of the powerful corrupt cliques which compose the invisible government. It operates under cover of a self-created screen [and] seizes our executive officers, legislative bodies, schools, courts, newspapers and every agency created for the public protection. (source)(source)
Senator William Jenner
A United States senator who said this to Congress in 1954:
Today the path to total dictatorship in the U.S. can be laid by strictly legal means … We have a well-organized political-action group in this country, determined to destroy our Constitution and establish a one-party state … It operates secretly, silently, continuously to transform our Government … This ruthless power-seeking elite is a disease of our century… This group … is answerable neither to the President, the Congress, nor the courts. It is practically irremovable. (source)
Senator Daniel K. Inouye
Inouye was the highest ranking Asian-American politician in United States history, serving the democratic party from 1963 until his death in 2012.
There exists a shadowy government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of the national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself. (source)
34th U.S. President And 5 Star General, Dwight Eisenhower
In his farewell address to the nation, president Eisenhower offered these words of caution:
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. … Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defence with our peaceful message and goals. (source)
This speech is relevant to share here, because the disastrous rise of misplaced power within the military industrial complex has indeed occurred…
Benjamin Disraeli, First British MP
The world is governed by very different personages to what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes. (Coningsby, Book 4, Chap. 15.) – Page 131
26th U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt
President Roosevelt revealed this information:
“Political parties exist to secure responsible government and to execute the will of the people. From these great staffs, both of the old parties have ganged aside. Instead of instruments to promote the general welfare they have become the tools of corrupt interests which use them in martialling [sic] to serve their selfish purposes. Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day. Unhampered by tradition, uncorrupted by power, undismayed by the magnitude of the task, the new party offers itself as the instrument of the people, to sweep away old abuses, to build a new and nobler government.” (source)
The list of quotes is very large and could fill a number of pages, so I will stop there.

The balcony bitch had been smarter this time when it came to sectioning off the prime seats around the edge of the ring. On one side of the room sat the Russians, and on the complete opposite, the French. Stray Rutherfords unworthy of her elevated fucking throne and the high rolling businessmen and politicians sandwiched themselves between the two most volatile elements. She’d even made sure to open a bar either side so they had no excuse to run into each other outside of the ring.
Smart, after the shit show that had been last year…
Laurent returned with an enormous tray of shots–sick of the handful the waitresses would bring at a time–placing it down on the table for the French.
“Pretty sure Ludo is going to kill Roman this time,” he said, throwing back a shot of his own before slumping down into the leather sofa, drink in hand, between his girlfriend and Noa. “Which fights are you calling wins on? Where are we putting our money?”
No one could say that the French were a boring lot. Back in the Netherlands she never mixed business with pleasure, preferring to avoid her clients outside of the club. But the Vixens were a completely different business. They took such good care of her that straying far never seemed worth it.
Leaning forward, Sofie took a shot and knocked it back. “My money’s on Théo knocking Olivier flat on his ass. It’s always the quiet ones you need to watch out for.” She leaned back in her seat, a sweet smile spread across her lips. “And of course I always put my money on you.”
“He should. The last time he lost, it was all he would ever moan about to the Vixens for two weeks,” Éveylne cracked as she grabbed one of the shots on the tray, “Same could be said if he wins, but at least it’d be less annoying. Maybe.” She shrugged as she lifted her shot glass for a faux toast before downing it.
Listening to Sofie share her bets scratched an open wound Évelyne still harbored. As angry and betrayed as she had felt when she learned Olivier left the French for the Rutherfords, she could not forget the time had spent together. Perhaps it was why seeing their bond thrown away so carelessly still stung. “Now now, Sofie, Laurent’s with Zahira now. That’s not going to pass anymore,” Évelyne joked but subtly warned, deciding to ignore instead Sofie’s comments. “Besides, it’s Zahira’s first time with us,” she offered a smile to the woman, “Let’s make sure she has a good time.” At least, as good a time as one could have if she’d eventually have to see her boyfriend in a brutal fight.
“Will there still be eleven fights tonight though?” Évelyne asked, attempting to make a tough question not as hard to swallow.

Dezeen's top 10 museum and gallery buildings of 2017
Next up in our review of 2017, architecture reporter India Block highlights 10 of the most important museums and galleries that opened this year, including Thomas Heatherwick's converted grain silo, the colossal Louvre Abu Dhabi and a Peru museum that replaces another lost in an earthquake.
Museo de Sitio Julio C Tello by Barclay & Crousse
In 2007m an earthquake destroyed the Museo de Sitio C Tello in Peru. Ten years later, Lima-based Sandra Barclay and Jean Pierre Crousse have rebuilt the low-lying geometric volumes in a new palette of red concrete to blend with the desert surrounds. The museum stands on the edge of the Paracas National Reserve and exhibits artefacts found by 1920s explorer Julio C Tello, who discovered the 2,000 year old necropolis nearby.

Louvre Abu Dhabi, UAE, by Jean Nouvel
The United Arab Emirates got its very own Louvre this year in the form of Jean Nouvel's geometric dome-covered gallery.
Eight years in the making, the Abu Dhabi Louvre is located on the man-made Saadiyat Island. Its domed roof comprises 8,000 interlocking stars, which pay homage to traditional Islamic architecture, while also flecking the white blocks and walkways below with dappled light.

Tirpitz, Denmark, by BIG
BIG caused a stir with its new exhibition spaces for the Tirpitz Bunker in Blåvand, Denmark – as the project resembles a swastika from above.
The bunker was built by Nazi forces during the second world war, but now hosts a museum. BIG carved four channels through the adjacent dune, which intersect to form a light-filled courtyard in between the dark, war-focused exhibitions in the sunken galleries.

Musée Yves Saint Laurent, Morocco, by Studio KO
This year saw the opening of the first fashion-dedicated museum in Africa – a 4,000-square-metre building in Marrakesh, created by Studio KO to celebrate the designer Yves Saint Laurent.
It features a brickwork facade that mimics the warp and weft of woven fabric, while the the velvety white walls of the entrance hall suggests the lining of a couture jacket.

Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, South Africa, by Thomas Heatherwick
This year saw the end of Thomas Heatherwick's dream for London's Garden Bridge, but in South Africa his Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa was a smash hit.
Also known as the Zeitz MOCAA, the art museum was created by hollowing out a 1920s grain silo on Cape Town's Waterfront. Vast sections of its tubular insides were carved out to make 80 gallery spaces, which are home to the world's most important African art collection.

Palestinian Museum by Heneghan Peng
Clad in local limestone, the faceted form of the Palestinian Museum and its terraced gardens was inspired by the rural landscape of the West Bank.
Irish fimr Heneghan Peng won a competition to design the museum dedicated to Palestinian culture back in 2010. Set into a hilltop, exterior stone slabs extend to form an open air amphitheatre.

Tate St Ives Extension, UK, by Jamie Fobert
A cliffside extension to the Tate St Ives in Cornwall, southwest England, includes an underground gallery space and a rooftop garden.
London-based Jamie Fobert Architects designed the ceramic-clad art gallery extension to mirror the colours of the sea. The sunken structure doesn't obstruct views sea from the cliff, but the concrete gallery spaces inside are bathed in warm light from south-facing windows.

Lascaux IV Caves Museum, France, by Snøhetta
Architecture firm Snøhetta created a modern cave for a prehistoric museum experience in France.
The the original Lascaux Caves have been closed to public since 1948, but the new museum displays meticulous replicas of the cave paintings in a chilly underground space. The jagged roofline runs along the side of a hill and the layered concrete walls emulate limestone strata.

Rivesaltes Memorial Museum, France, by Rudy Ricciotti
Although it was technically finished in 2015, the Rivesaltes Memorial Museum in Perpignan, France, won a lot of attention this year by being one of five finalists for the 2017 Mies van der Rohe Award 2017.
Architect Rudy Ricciotti sunk the concrete monolith into the red earth of the site of a French military and internment camp where gypsies, Jews and Catalan refugees were imprisoned during the second world war. There are no internal windows, only openings cut into the gently inclined roof.

V&A Exhibition Road Quarter, UK, by AL_A
The V&A museum got a new entrance and exhibition hall this year, courtesy of Amanda Levete's firm AL_A.
The £54.5 million scheme represents the largest expansion of the museum in over 100 years. A new courtyard paved with 11,000 handmade porcelain tiles arranged in a pattern covers the new 1,100-square-metre column-free Sainsbury Gallery below.

Anglet
Cher journal,
Bisous. NORD #tourneeCCAS #shortelectricktour #festivalalorschante2017
