“it’s hotter than the hells out here.” the doctor wasn’t usually one to leave himself so exposed, but the heat was so intense that clothes just left him feeling miserable. he chose to forgo the shirt and dip in the water for a bit, nevermind the danger that might be in the waters. “come on in! the water helps, and it’s not too deep. i promise it’s better than out there.”

for a moment, his hearts almost stopped. he had never really said those words, not like this. all they could think about was how in the past, it was always too late before they could properly say it. but they were both safe, the date was nice and peaceful and-

“yeah?” the doctor asked excitedly, they’re eyes wide in shock and delight. “you love me? me?” he asked, still trying to wrap his head around how real this all was. he felt lightheaded and dizzy just trying the grasp it. spinning around and laughing at the sky probably didn’t help much, but he thought he might float to the sky….before realizing how much he proabably looked like a dork. he composed himself and tried to play it off cool. “i mean that’s pretty amazing, but you should probably kiss me just to be extra sure.” he flirted, hands resting on they’re boyfriend’s muscly, toned chest.

"You love me?" Rogue was somehow equally surprised and not surprised, hearing this from the other man. He knew the Doctor had affection for him, but love? Love felt like....too much for the other to give, but Rogue had admittedly fallen for him from the night they'd met. Carefully stepping closer, he stopped directly in front of him and smiled softly. "Ignoring this...incredibly kind thing you've done for me in this moment, I'd like to dwell on that sentiment. I was wondering when we'd have this conversation because I..I love you too."
