Jason hooking up with Dana's friend and employee Carmen Ortega while Dana herself (as Strike) gets her shit rocked by her other (former) friend and employee Omar (as Slayer) on the other side of town - as one does. Red Hood: The Hill Issue #2

One of Jason's first overtures at rejoining the Batfam was made in the New 52 relaunch of the 2011 comic Batman Incorporated, where he takes on the persona of Wingman at the behest of Bruce. He even teams up with Damian Wayne (going by Redbird at the time), forming their own very brief Batman & Robin-esque pair! Also, they both looked kind of ridiculous... [apparently, takes place sometime during Red Hood and the Outlaws Vol. 1 (2011-2015), around issues 17 and 18 and Death of A Family, but before Damian's death and his own Joker-induced gas coma. weird ass timeline!] (Batman Incorporated (2012))

(as an additional aside, post New 52 and into the Rebirth era, Jay and Bruce start patching things up (kinda) and enter a truce of sorts starting in the Red Hood and the Outlaws: Rebirth one-shot from 2016. Yay!)

In the Elseworld of Batman: White Knight (also known as the Murphyverse for it's creator - Sean Murphy), Jason Todd is the eldest son instead of Dick Grayson, meaning that he was actually both the first Robin, and Bruce's first adopted son! He was still captured and tortured by the Joker tho....he escaped alive, but was presumed dead and given a burial and tombstone - as in the main universe - and Dick was taken on as Robin in his "absence." Poor guy! He can't catch a break even in AUs! BUT!! He does gets his own Robin sidekick in this universe - Gan! (also known as Robin IV, a young woman of Mongolian descent who took up the mantel herself with a homemade costume (similar to Stephanie Brown)). In fact, she's the one who encourages him to become Red Hood in the first place! (Batman: White Knight)

Harley Quinn is a primary protagonist of this universe, btw, and pretty much saves Jason from being killed Batman: White Knight Issue #2

Speaking of AUs and elseworlds, in 2002's World Without Young Justice, Jason Todd was a circus acrobat, as per his original pre-crisis origin (minus the red hair). In this AU, he's dating fellow circus member Anita Fite (normally Empress, but here known as Voodoo Princess), but she ends up assassinating him at the behest of his step-mom, Catherine Todd, because he discovered his parents dirty business dealings with Killer Croc. Am I the only one finding it absolutely hilarious that in their desperation to make Alicent “likeable” they’ve turned her own fans against her! 😂

Fans don’t like it when their faves are turned into two faced hypocrites in order to placate the “enemy”.

i mean, half her fans seem to be going down that route. the other half can’t wait for her to abandon her children and grandchildren right after an incredibly traumatic event to ‘reconcile’ with the woman who she abused for 15+ years and will be held responsible (which is to say rhaenyra could have absolutely nothing to do with blood and cheese, but since she *is* the green’s main adversary and the opposing monarch the blame will fall on her) for her grandson’s murder. it’s, once again, a very inconsistent writing choice, along with just being… completely outlandish and reprehensible.

she ‘doesn’t want war,’ ‘wants to protect her children,’ but on the other hand literally raised her kids to hate their sister and nephews and is somehow *shocked* whenever things go poorly (she told aegon he would be king, but was left out of the coup efforts by her own father because… reasons?) we also have olivia cooke point blank stating in an interview that alicent is going to be pushed to the side and forgotten about, useless to the sadistic son’s she’s raised. she’s no longer viewed as the ‘peacemaker.’ aemond is calling her a fool because she raised them for war, and is now acting like there is a peaceful resolution to this conflict. it’s coming out how little brains she’s capable of using, how hypocritical she is, how little autonomy she lets herself have in order to keep playing the poor helpless woman who was pushed into starting a war by the evil men around her. it’s such a misogynistic caricature to THE green queen who led crowing aegon rather than having men step all over her.

it’s irritating when it seems that the people who don’t even like her seem to be able to clock how half-assed she’s being written. i don’t know at this point what their plan for her is, but nothing about her writing is complex past a surface level viewing of her. we’ll still be getting meta’s of that fact once season two starts though, of course 🙄

When I left my family, I nearly changed my surname to Valentine, from Faye Valentine in Cowboy Bebop. Tbh, I should have done, but I was afraid what everyone else would say.

My full name would have been [flower] [middle name] Valentine.

Cowboy Bebop is one of my favourite anime, along with Sailor Moon.

I do regret not changing my surname when I had the chance, so I wasn't stuck with my current surname, I really fucking hate it. I wanted nothing to do with my family, but my fear got the better of me.

Honestly, IF anything happens to my fiancé, I'm changing my surname to Valentine.

IF you want to change your name, go and do it. I promise you, you will feel a lot better.

Atlas cursed the fact that she picked the moth from the fairytale. Moth's were dumb as hell and now she seemed to be dumb as well. The best option would be to ask someone, the elf decided and she searched the market for someone else.

Seeing a woman in dark attire, Atlas made a beeline for her. "Excuse me, ma'am. I was wondering if you might be able to help me?" the elf asked, careful not to hit her with the large wings. "Do you know how I could carry fire without burning? I need to get it to my princess. Well... Ayumu," Atlas said. Is it just me, or has Jeph Jacques just been recreating the same characters over and over? Normally that doesn't bother me, but boy is this latest batch grating. I mean, Ayo and her sister are fine, but Willow, Iris, Elizabeth and frankly the entirety of Cubetown can all get eaten by allosaurs, and they can take Clinton with them, too. I know he's not new, but I swear he gets more annoying every time he shows up. I've been reading Questionable Content since 2008, and I haven't dropped a webcomic since Sinfest (sidenote: I hope Tatsuya Ishida stubs his toe and gets hit in the face with a pie today) but I think it's time for me to drop it, at least until Jeph gets bored of this latest batch of characters and shoves them in the back of a closet for a decade or so in favor of new ones that are just retreads of old characters he forgot about. Not that I'm dropping it for the same reason as Sinfest, mind. I mean, Q*C may currently be overrun with tooth-gratingly obnoxious characters right now, but at least Jacques isn't a self-righteous Q-anon TERF like Ishida is.
