rosh hashanah. || ashlyn & marnie & violette.
Violette was helping to set the table when she heard the doorbell ring. She smiled. “That’s Ash, you guys are all gonna love her, she’s really awesome,” Violette anounced, rushing to the door and throwing it open. “I’m so glad you made it!” she said happily. “I hope you’re ready to stuff your face.”

All of them
♥ - Something they like about your muse.
I like the side of her that she doesn’t show anyone else. I like the Marnie I saw that night in the basement.
❦ - Something they hate about your muse.
I hate what you did to Jasey. I understand doing what you have to to stay on top but that was too far. You could do so many things to prove yourself but that could have ruined someone’s life and you didn’t care.
✎ - A reason they’re jealous of your muse.
That you don’t have to suffer the wrath of the jocks.
♪ - A secret they’re keeping from your muse.
I didn’t mean to make you feel like I lied. I honestly don’t think I did. I think I misjudged what I could accept but I hurt you in doing so. I do miss being able to talk with you though.
♤ - What they thought about your muse when first meeting.
What a bitch.

To say that Lindsey had surprised by the message Marnie had sent would’ve been an understatement. She hadn’t been joking when she’d said that she wasn’t aware that they were that friendly. Marnie has always been a fixture in her life more or less — like one of the art pieces her mother enjoyed collecting: a part of the background and easily ignored. Recently, it had been more difficult to simply ignore her, and Lindsey had been attempting to play it nice. Not that she knew how to do that, really; she had a difficult time connecting with other people, she knew. She could admit that some of that was her fault, but the majority of it could be placed at the feet of everyone else — they were nuisances. So the irony of the fact that she was currently prepping for a night of wine and venting — an event that usually only took place with one’s closest confidantes — was not lost to her. “So, I’ve got an array of wines,” Lindsey stated by way of greeting when it was announced that Marnie had arrived. “And I’ve also got some pastries or the other that Wyatt made recently.”

Marnie: You believe me?
Max: Marnie, you are the last good person on this Earth. I would believe cartoon birds helped you get dressed this morning.

Gracie hadn’t seen much of her best friend and roommate lately; and she was starting to wonder where the girl had run off to. She hadn’t been going to classes; and she hardly showed up in their room. So she hadn’t expected to run into her as she walked back to their dorm after class. “Marn?” She called out as she noticed the familiar figure not too far from where she was currently standing in the hallway.

"I used to make my parents proud." - lincoln
“You’re so melodramatic,” Marnie huffed, rolling her eyes as she moved around the kitchen, weaving in between Lyla and Lincoln. She pulled the large popcorn bowl from the cabinet, setting it on the counter as she listened to the kernels popping in the microwave. “I’m sure they don’t even know about half of the shit you’ve done, Link. How could they possibly see you as anything less than their golden child son?” she teased, a playful smirk on her lips. It didn’t quite reach her eyes, though. She couldn’t console him the way she wanted to, not with Lyla standing there, not with these stupid secrets looming over them. She was in way over her head, but she didn’t really want to get out. Marnie emptied the popcorn from the bag into bowl, handing it off to Lyla. “I’ll get the drinks, get the movie started,” she said, giving her a smile as she walked away. She grabbed a few sodas from the fridge, moving over to where Lincoln sat, placing a hand gently on his back. “You still have time to make them proud again,” she whispered, leaning in and pressing a fleeting kiss to his cheek, sighing and walking away.

"You don't ever let anyone in...I can tell...why is that?" Marnie you're far too intrusive my dear. "Not to be rude or anything but it is the truth." Too late for that.

Gracie had looked everywhere for Marnie. She had heard about the reveal of Cam’s secret and knew it would be taking some sort of toll on her best friend. Walking down one of the corridors, she saw the girl just standing there. “Marn?” She called out, going up to her. “Come stai?”
