"It's taken a while, but it's nice to finally have it feeling somewhat near normal again." helene sat in her brothers living room, waiting for him to finish up whatever he was doing. she fiddled with her fingers and looked around the room, how different it was to where they once lived. finally getting over to summer shade was the best thing for the girl but getting to see her brother again was even better. she was starting classes soon and was nervous. but her brother was there to help with everything she needed. she was patient while she waited, quiet as a mouse.

Rubbing the sleep from his eyes he blindly slapped the nightstand until he found his cell. Gazing at the time, he was a bit bewildered when he headed off to the door in only a pair of basketball shorts. Just after 3am he knew whatever waited for him was most likely not good news. Living a life of suspicion he looked out the small keyhole and was shocked to see Harper standing in the dimly lit hallway. Quickly opening the door she barley got the statement out before he clutched her elbow and pulled her into the room. Before closing the door he searched the hall for any possible threat. Once tucked inside he turned his attention to Harper, “What’s going on? Is it him?” Him being a demon that had taken an unhealthy interest in the powerful witch. Realizing he was still holding her elbow he let his fingers trail down the exposed skin of her forearm and clutched her open hand before he assured, “You can always come to me. No matter what.”

                     things in parker’s life had certainly been changing at a speed he could not have prepared himself for. an old FLAME –– if you could even call it that … harper goddamned anderson. there used to be a time, way, way long ago, when parker dreamed about a future with her. late night texts would end in smiles and goodnights, and yet, when the opportunity finally rolled around for something to happen MAYBE … neither of them took it. and it seemed like ages ago –– it was, it was over two years ago. parker had just pocketed the conversations, carrying on with his life, but sometimes wondering how the fiery blonde was doing, what she was up to.

their conversation a few nights prior had certainly re-ignited a flame that parker had thought to be PERMANENTLY extinguished, and they’d had a little moment, a moment of shared regret of not saying anything before things changed. before parker became interested in his ex-girlfriend, before the imperium society had changed his life. and then she’d kissed him.

and he kissed her back –– but the moment that ended as quickly as it started. and she’d left him hanging, again, with even more questions than he had the previous time around. “hey,” he greeted at a whisper as he approached the girl in the library. “thanks –– for um. for meeting me, i guess. do you … d-do you think we could go somewhere else? i mean … i … unless you want others to hear,” he remarked, gesturing at a group of students studying at a table nearby.
