keeping track of time had always been august's biggest struggle since she was young. she could set alarms and look at a clock constantly to try to keep herself paced, just to still find some way to end up running late. she could keep a steady week or two stretch of doing well, and then one day would go wrong and just messed her up completely. her heartbeat skipped and a succession of fast pitter pats followed at his words, her eyes going a little wide. " i must be a bit of a disappointment so far then, i'm sorry... " she sighed, her hands reaching to take his. she looked away a moment when he asked her how she would make it up, her face feeling hot. " dunno yet... but i promise, i will, " she thought to herself that she should start padding out her savings again anyway.

arjun could only sigh at august's excuses because if he were being honest with himself this wasn't the first time she'd been late to a date. and as much as he wanted to be understanding about her sudden burst of artistic creativity, his time was valuable too. still, as he stood there taking in her appearance from head to toe, he couldn't deny she looked absolutely stunning. "i wasn't going to see this without you," he iterated, taking a step closer to the other. "in fact, you're the only one i want to experience things with." a brow raised at her final statement. "exactly how are you going to make this up to me?"
