to add to the mitch fs: just realised his warm ups are just besti squats and 3 turns wait a minute. leafs social media team need to do a leafs do figure skating video like yesterday. they'd have to fix mitch's posture though because he WILL end up with the patented zagitova hunchback of notre dame posture but i have faith in him!

Gotta be real, like 70% of Valerie's interactions with all the Aldecaldos is basically just "Fuck, I feel really out of place here" and then just replaying conversations over and over in her head while she zones out in the shower, wondering if she came across like a total city girl weirdo.

Well, for canon!Valerie, anyway.

NomadAU!Valerie is more "Fuck, I feel really out of place here but I guess this is my fucking life now" and not having time to replay conversations over and over in her head while she showers because she's got about two minutes of barely warm water before her water ration is up. She'll save the stewing for sleepless nights on her cot, though.

ANYWAY.

One of her defining memories with Mitch actually hits pretty early on. Valerie is immediately struck by how much he (and Driss) seem to care for Panam, and even if he has to toe the line and can't drop everything for Panam, it's clear he has her back. Valerie is pretty lonely and still reeling from Jackie's death around this time, and it sparks an array of emotions in her--Happiness and vicarious camaraderie on behalf of the trio, but also a sharp sense of loss and even a little bit of a jealousy on her own behalf.

🚙- Panam Palmer

Valerie and Panam get up to some pretty reckless adventures--Trying to narrow it down to just one core memory for this is a bit of a struggle, haha. I guess in keeping with the spirit of kind of somft memories: sitting around the fire with Panam and the other Aldecaldos while they're waiting for Militech. Panam raising her glass to Jackie (and Valerie in turn raising her can of NiCola) really meant a lot to her.
