Location: Roseland estate characters: Evelyn & Parker @chained-by-secrets Closed starter
Tumblr media
She received a call for a delivery to the Roseland estate. The area felt familiar, as if she'd been there before. As she approached, she saw a gated entrance and glanced at the address, wondering where to drop off the package. Scanning the area, she spotted a familiar face and walked towards them.
"Parker," she said with a sigh of relief, recognizing someone at last. "I have some flowers for this estate."

Webhead Chronicles pt. 1
Title: Webhead Chronicles pt. 1
Fandom: The Amazing Spiderman
Pairing: tasm!Peter Parker x OFC
Author: @sheerfreesia007
Words: 3,167
Warnings: Chokehold, violence, fighting, best friends to lovers (eventually)
Permanent Tag List: @paintballkid711, @fioccodineveautunnale, @phoenixhalliwell, @linkpk88, @weirdowithnobeardo, @athalien
Author Notes: I’ve jumped on the bandwagon for the Spiderman and after all the hype of No Way Home I got back into the spiderman movies. After watching the Amazing Spiderman ones my brain started churning with ideas for him. So I’ll be sort of rewriting scenes from the first movie with an original female character added in. There will also be some added scenes as well as they come into my brain. But this was just fun to do, kinda got long but I just went with it. I hope you enjoy!

He stares at her as her hands expertly and almost delicately dance along the bit of machinery that sits on the work table in front of her. A pair of large plastic goggles sit over her eyes while the elastic piece stretches around her head over her favorite purple beanie, that he bought for her when her old black one began unraveling, to rest against her long shoulder length hair. Her fingers twist and turn a ratchet as she purses her mouth to the side. He's always loved her passion for engineering, the way that she's always been tinkering with things to figure out how they work. She's done it ever since they were kids, back then it was mostly to help her stay away from the horrible screaming matches her mom and dad would get into. But then it morphed into a key part of her, she was always fixing things around Aunt May and Uncle Ben's house when they broke down. She had even saved their summer when their A/C unit went on the fritz last summer.
Peter's eyes catch on her slightly chapped lips and hold there watching as her lips move almost without thought silently mouthing words as she works. He feels his still tired body melt as he watches her work, she’s his best friend and yet he’s pining to be more than that. What he wouldn't give to distract her with a sweet kiss. He's dreamt of doing things like that to her since they were middle school, ever since he hit puberty and discovered that his best friend since they were kids wasn't just his best friend anymore.
"Hey space cadet, you better start heading to your locker to get your stuff or you're gonna be late." She said softly with a soft smirk on her face as she continued to work. Peter jerks his head upward as his eyes dart up from her lips wondering if she had caught him staring. He can feel heat starting to crawl up his neck and he ducks his head slightly.
"I resent that, Evelyn Sinclair." He griped out sarcastically and she chuckled at him. He figured he would try to get under her skin by using her full name but it didn't seem to work this time. Her eyes dart over to him from her piece of machinery and narrow slightly before a grin overtakes her face and Peter’s instantly blinded by the shine behind it. He’s rendered dumb for a moment in the glow of her happiness.
"You would, Lightyear." She retorted and Peter scrunched his face at her making her chuckle even more. "Dork." she quips out as she turns back to her project.
"You love me nerd!" He called over his shoulder at her as he scooped up his backpack from the floor and headed towards the door. "Don't forget to go to class." He reminded her.
"That was one time!" She shouted back as he walked through the door laughing. His destination being the display case where he hung up the different extracurricular photos.
*-*-*-*
He stared at himself in the reflection of the clear sliding glass in the display case silently trying to wake up. Sliding the glass to the side he easily pinned the debate team’s group shot and stared at Gwen’s face as his mind was still foggy with sleep. Pain stabbed into the side of his face as a loud pinging noise filled his ears and his head jerked to the side. Snapping his head to the side he saw Flash Thompson and two of his basketball buddies laughing hysterically. Flash held his hand out in faux apology as he continued to laugh and Peter grimaced at him softly.
“Morning Flash.” he said as he nodded his head a few times trying to curb the embarrassment that was beginning to swell inside of him.
“Good morning Parker.” Flash sing-songed to him as he walked past him from behind. Peter slid the glass door shut and locked it with the key that the lady at the front desk had given him this morning. Just then out of the corner of his eye he saw Flash move quickly towards him and Peter flinched back making Flash and his friends laugh even more.
Shaking his head Peter walked away from the display case and began walking down the hallway wondering if Ev had finished with her project and was on her way to class. He had missed her presence on the subway this morning, usually she’d cuddle close to him to preserve their warmth in the early morning and share an earbud listening to the new playlist that she created for them. Peter smiled absently to himself as remembered her last playlist that she had made full of dream-like songs that had put the two of them asleep on the way home from school making them miss their stop. And the way the two of them would cuddle together had become the norm for them ever since starting high school and taking the subway together. Those subway rides were some of the best moments in his life so far.
“Uh, hey Peter right?” said a soft voice that made Peter stop in his tracks and look over at a pretty girl that he didn’t recognize, effectively pulling him out of his thoughts about Ev. Nodding his head he still tried to wipe away the cobwebs from his mind. “I really like your photos.” said the girl in front of him.
Nodding his head distractedly Peter searched the hallway for his partner in crime hoping that she would come and save him from his awkward attempt to talk to a girl. If she was here she’d be able to ease his anxiety as he shifted on his feet in front of the girl. She’d always been such a calming presence in his life ever since they met the day after his parents left him with Aunt May and Uncle Ben. Always able to understand him without him having to say anything and always knew the right thing to do and say to ease him.
“Oh thanks.” he said, turning back to the girl. His anxiety was starting to surge as he stood there in front of her wondering why she was talking to him. He was pretty sure that she had never talked to him before now. He didn’t even know this girl’s name and she knew his.
“Uh listen, are you busy Friday night?” she asked, suddenly gripping her school books in front of her as she shifted on her feet as well. Peter silently panicked as he furrowed his brows at her and his mouth hung open slightly, his mind racing wondering if she wanted to hang out with him. He suddenly felt his mind go blank as she stared up at him with hopeful eyes and he shook his head as a confused awkward sound escaped his mouth.
“Cool, uh can you take pictures of my boyfriend’s car?” she asked almost bashfully and Peter tilted his head to the side as she began to explain. “I just, you know I really want to frame a good one for his birthday.” Peter felt the wide smile spread across his face as he looked at her as she explained her sweet idea for a birthday present for her boyfriend.
“That’s really nice, you, wow that’s such a nice thought.” Peter began to ramble as he chuckled softly to himself. He looked to the ground for a moment really touched by this girl’s idea for her boyfriend’s birthday. “Yeah, uh, let me look at the old, yeah, schedule. Ok?” he rambled and the girl practically beamed with happiness as he gave her a sliver of hope.
“Okay yeah, that’d be great. Here text me when you’re free and I’ll make sure to borrow his car.” she said eagerly as she handed a piece of paper with her cell phone number on it. Peter nodded as he slipped the paper in his pocket and tossed his skateboard down to the floor and stepped onto it.
When he looked up and he quickly grabbed the skateboard as he spotted Mr. Hadley standing in his classroom’s doorway with his arms crossed over his chest and a frown on his face as he watched Peter like a hawk.
“Parker!” Mr. Hadley barked at him and Peter grimaced softly as he held his skateboard in his hand.
“Yes sir, I’ll keep it up.” Peter said quickly.
“Keep the skateboard up, wheels up.” Mr. Hadley said for what seemed like the thousandth time as Peter walked awkwardly around the other students walking around the hallway.
“Like that?” Peter asked, unable to help himself from being sarcastic as he held his skateboard up in the air with the wheels pointed upwards.
“That’s right, like that.” Mr. Hadley responded while Peter still walked away before looking over his shoulder to see Mr. Hadley no longer watching him. Once he got the corner he put the skateboard back down and skated down the hallway towards his locker.
*-*-*-*
As he came up to his locker he sighed letting his shoulders slump downwards as he saw Frank and his girlfriend Tina avidly making out against his locker. Stepping around the two of them he huffed as he watched Tina flip Frank against his locker harshly with a loud bang. The two of them were oblivious to the world around them as they messily made out with each other. Peter wondered idly if he and Ev would be like that if they ever kissed, would they lose track of where they were? Shaking his head Peter rolled his eyes and he watched as the two shifted slightly away from his locker and he seized the opportunity.
Struggling to open his locker against the amorous teenagers he pressed the side of his head into the locker and eased one hand into the locker to grab the textbook he needed. He quickly pulled the book out of the locker and watched as the locker door slammed shut thanks to the teens as they continued to make out. Shaking his head he stuffed the book into his backpack and began walking away towards the courtyard with his camera in his hand.
As he stepped outside his eyes scanned the area looking for Ev when he suddenly spotted Gwen sitting on top of one of the picnic tables reading a thick book. The way she sat with her legs hooked together reminded him of a prestigious princess sitting on her throne. Peter quickly raised his camera and focused on Gwen turning a page in her book before snapping the picture. He lowered his camera still staring at her taking in the serene picture she created as she continued to read.
Gwen was a friend of Ev’s since they shared a homeroom class together. Ev had told him that she was a nice girl who was always sweet to her and the two had formed a sort of girl bond, as Peter called it, where they would check in with each other and would sometimes go hang out together when Peter would be busy. Ev had offered to introduce the two of them but Peter had always told her it wasn’t needed and that she needed girlfriends. Ev had given him an odd look when he had said that to her but Peter had just shrugged it away, he knew she was his best friend but he felt that she needed other friends too.
The sound of chanting caught his attention and Peter turned to look to the side, noticing a large group gathering at the area by the stone steps where a few picnic tables were. Walking over towards the group he could finally understand the chanting of the crowd.
“Eat it! Eat it! Eat it!” the crowd chanted as Peter meandered through the bodies gathered to stand at the front with a clear view of Flash tormenting Gordon Lanskki. Flash held Gordon upside and smashed his face into his plate of pizza with a wicked grin on his face.
“C’mon Gordon eat your vegetables! You gotta eat your vegetables if you want to grow up big and strong.” Flash taunted Gordon and Peter grimaced as he watched Gordon’s face be smashed into the pizza once again. “Oh! Parker! C’mon get a picture!” called Flash once he spotted Peter in the crowd.
The crowd all turned to Peter and he shook his head at Flash who glared at him while still holding Gordon captive. The others in the crowd all looked to Peter with a manic look in their eyes as they realized that this could prolong Gordon’s torment.
“Put ‘im down Flash!” Peter called and pointed to the ground as Flash kept holding Gordon up. The crowd continued their chant of ‘eat it’ and Flash kept smashing Gordon’s face into the pizza. Sighing Peter knew he was going to have to help Gordon out and get him off Flash’s radar. “Put ‘im down Flash! Gordon, don't eat it please.”
Flash ignored him once again and posed with Gordon’s face still smashed into the pizza looking over at Peter expectantly. Peter still shook his head as Flash shifted Gordon in his arms. Sighing again Peter knew that what he was about to do was just cause more problems in his life.
“Put ‘im down Eugene!” shouted Peter loudly so that he would be heard over the chanting crowd. Peter knew that by using Flash’s actual name would get him to focus his torment on Peter and no longer on Gordon. Flash came to a halt and glared at Peter for a second before he tossed Gordon to the ground and stalked towards Peter. Peter watched as a black and purple blur rushed over to Gordon behind Flash’s back as Peter made his way over to the bullied kid.
All he wanted to do was see if Gordon was alright when Flash’s forearm pressed against his chest stopping him from getting close to Gordon. Peter looked up at Flash confused but was knocked to the floor as Flash’s fist connected with the side of his face. Peter groaned as the crowd all jeered at Flash’s actions.
“C’mon get up Parker!” Flash shouted and without thought Peter did what Flash told him to do and got up from the ground. Only to be knocked back down as Flash punched him in his stomach harshly. Groaning loudly Peter stayed on his knees as he gasped for air. Rolling onto the ground Peter groaned loudly while the crowd all cheered at Peter’s predicament.
Out of the corner of his eyes he watched as Flash swung his leg back and kicked him in the same spot where his fist had connected with more cheers from the crowd sounding loudly in response. Peter rolled away as his arms came to cross over his stomach trying to protect himself. And once again Peter couldn’t hold in that sarcastic side of himself as he rasped out to Flash.
“Still not taking the picture.” he rasped out and Flash glowered angrily at him as he hovered over him. Flash made a move to kick him once again and Peter rolled to get out of the range of his leg when he spotted something out of the corner of his eye.
That black and purple blur that he saw before rushing to Gordon charged at Flash’s back and a pair of legs wrapped around Flash’s middle while an arm wrapped around his neck securely as a slender hand came up to cup the back of his head putting him in choke hold. Peter watched as his best friend finally made an appearance as she snapped angrily at Flash to leave him alone.
“Enough Flash!” she snapped and Flash began to flail trying to get her off him. “You need to calm down and stop!” she snapped at him trying to get through to him. Peter gasped softly trying to regain his breath as he watched her legs shift into a sturdier hold around Flash’s middle and he knew from experience that she was getting a better hold on the larger boy.
“Get off Ev!” hissed Flash as his arms tried to dislodge her from his back. But no matter how much Flash flailed he wouldn’t be able to get her off him, and he knew that he wouldn’t get her off after all the years that they had lived next to each other. The three of them had almost practically grown up together much to Peter’s chagrin, only when Flash had hit puberty back in middle school and became the star athlete did he branch off from them and gained popularity.
“Miss Sinclair! Mr. Thompson!” shouted a loud angry voice and Peter snapped his head over to see Mrs. Torres making her way down the steps towards the large crowd. “Miss Sinclair get off him this instance!” snapped Mrs. Torres as the crowd quickly dispersed from the area not wanting to get in trouble.
Peter sat up from the ground and watched as Ev slid off Flash’s back and scowled down at the ground. He quickly stood up and moved towards Ev as she sucked in a deep breath before looking up angrily at Mrs. Torres. Ev had never been good at just letting others be bullied without her stepping in. Peter guessed it had become a characteristic of hers because her parents would always argue and fight at home making Ev uncomfortable. She wasn’t ever able to get through to her parents to stop arguing or fighting so you would step in whenever she saw bullying going on. There had been numerous times where she would step in between him and Flash when Flash would fight with him.
Stepping over to Ev’s side he rested a hand on her shoulder making her look up at him. Shaking his head at her, Ev instantly deflated and Peter felt bad for holding her back but he knew would get into so much more trouble if she verbally unleashed on Mrs. Torres.
“Let’s go Miss Sinclair straight to the front office. The principal will hear about this.” Mrs. Torres snipped at Ev as she folded her arms over her chest. Peter grimaced knowing that Ev was probably going to get detention because she stood up for him against Flash. “Flash, you can go to the nurse if you’re feeling lightheaded.” Mrs. Torres advised softly making both Ev and Peter jerk their heads to stare at her in shock.
Peter watched as Ev stalked away from the small group towards the school doors to head to the front office. Mrs. Torres then quickly scurried after her huffing angrily. Peter sighed softly as he hung his head and began walking towards the doors to head to class. He didn’t bother looking back at Flash who was looking towards the doors with a look of concern on his face.

Every Baby Name We Could Possibly Think Of
Naming your baby is a big decision, and with endless options, it can also be a difficult one. Whether you're going the traditional route or want something more unique (if so, read this first!) it's helpful to have a little, or a lot, of inspiration. Ahead, you'll find nearly every baby name we could think of (close to 1,000!). These aren't just random names we found in a book or concocted ourselves - they're almost all monikers we've heard being used, or we actually know someone who goes by the name. If we missed any, tell us in the comments! Evelyn De Morgan, “Night and Sleep” (1878), oil on canvas (© De Morgan Collection, courtesy De Morgan Foundation)
Art Movements is a weekly collection of news, developments, and stirrings in the art world.
President Trump is expected to sign a spending bill that would fund the federal government through September 30, 2017. It includes increased funding for the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities (NEA and NEH) and the Smithsonian Institution.
The nominees for the 2017 Turner Prize — the first edition in which artists over 50 were eligible for inclusion — were announced. The four artists are Hurvin Anderson, Andrea Büttner, Lubaina Himid, and Rosalind Nashashibi.

Delhi’s Hall of Nations (1972), designed by architect Raj Rewal, was demolished. The building was denied heritage status after the Heritage Conservation Committee maintained its ruling that only buildings over 60 years old are eligible for conservation.
The De Morgan Collection, a collection of paintings and ceramics by Arts and Crafts couple William and Evelyn De Morgan, was rehoused at Wightwick Manor following a £170,000 ($219,640) project by the UK’s National Trust.
Over 200 employees of B&H Photo Video’s Brooklyn warehouses went on strike on May Day, after accusing the company of union busting.
Hermann Nitsch (photo courtesy the artist)
Australia’s Dark Mofo festival decided to proceed with a planned performance by Hermann Nitsch that involves a bull carcass, despite objections from animal rights campaigners and a petition from Animal Liberation Tasmania.
The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to the estate of Emma Bridge following a dispute over the ownership of seven porcelain figures sold under Nazi persecution in 1937.
The Nordico Museum in Linz has acquired and will display a bronze Aphrodite created by Nazi sculptor Wilhelm Wandschneider. The work was previously on public view in a park for 65 years, until, in 2008, a group of art students pointed out that it had been gifted to the city by Adolf Hitler.
The Venice Biennale’s board of directors appointed the international jury for the show’s 2017 edition.
Over 400 Roman-era columns were abandoned on Beirut’s waterfront after the warehouse in which they were stored was dismantled.
A French art dealer accidentally left an artwork by Lucio Fontana in a taxi after becoming distracted by a phone call.
Military Review magazine published the last photograph taken by US army camerawoman Hilda Clayton, which captures the moment a mortar shell killed her and four Afghan National Army soldiers on July 2, 2013. The magazine also published an image captured by an Afghan soldier whom Specialist Clayton was training. The photographs were released with the permission of Clayton’s family.
The United States Postal Service issued its first-ever stamp that changes when touched. The Total Solar Eclipse Forever stamp commemorates the upcoming August 21 solar eclipse, the first to be visible from the US mainland since 1979.
Russian performance artist Fyodor Pavlov-Andreevich crashed the Met Gala by having himself delivered to the event nude in a fiberglass box.

The Tate Modern’s new extension will be named the Blavatnik Building, following a donation by Ukrainian-born businessman Len Blavatnik. Although the exact size of the donation has not been disclosed, The Art Newspaper reports that it’s over £50 million, which would make it the largest-ever financial donation to a UK museum.
The Dia Art Foundation acquired six paintings by Brice Marden.
The Kenneth C. Griffin Charitable Fund donated $1 million to the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
