[Lucian] drew his knees to his chest, staring into the fire. Echoes of the flames sparked beneath his skin, burning in vain for his attention. “I would have liked to have had lessons with other people, but there weren’t any other people it was safe to have them with.” [Aliyne] snorted. “What, do you read so badly people die?” Promise and Precious and Introspection and Clarity and on and on ran the list of names he’d sworn he’d never forget. Shattered horns and a pile of ash and black bones that had once been called Determination and his throat closed up and his head throbbed and he dug his claws into his palms, breath short and shallow. “Yes.”

Dorcas' eyes travelled across an evening that was in full swing, professors were stumbling across the dance-floor in each others arms and a few people had been escorted out for attempting to spike the alcohol-free mulled wine. Her feet aching from the height of her heels, Dorcas needed a few moments before she attempted a numbing spell on her feet in order to return to the dance-floor. For it being a tad later in the evening, Dorcas was surprisingly sober. Only topping up her sparkling wine when feeling brave enough to wrangle her way through the refreshment table.

About to return to the floor, Dorcas turned to glance at her wand when the figure of a familiar person seemed to be heading towards the doorway. Usually, Dorcas only had the confidence to beckon Lucian for a conversation in detention or when she had the dutch courage of firewhiskey behind her. This time though, it barely took a second thought. "Oi Lucian, where are you sneaking off to?" Dorcas called over, amused. "Surely, you aren't leaving. The Lucian Flint I sorta know would never leave a party early."

actually the finnikin balthazar guilt hole is so crazy because hes convinced himself so hard that him wanting to be king when he was 9 is what killed the royal family but then u go ask 9yo finn why he wants 2 be king so bad and hes like "i think we should improve society somewhat"

Playing Divinity Original Sin 2 and there's a character called Lucian and yeah the similarity with "Lucio" aside, it's so funny to me that this huge game with a ton of voiced lines has its characters pronouncing the "c" in "Lucian" differently. There's no consensus on that one either, it will forever be a mystery

Hi author!!

I wanted to ask, out of all the characters, who did you spend the most making background and lore on? All your characters have a lot of background facts and a bunch of other lore, depending on the question.

I’ve tried my best to take the same amount for each RO and the other side characters— especially if I decide that said characters are ready to be introduced to all of you. Just in case any of you have any questions, I’d like to be prepared to answer them! Of course, things could change as I delve deeper into the game— I’d at least like to have a foundation to build off of.

Out of the ROs? Currently? I’ve spent quite a bit of time on Sloane, Scarlett, Blake, and Cyrus/Cyra— mainly due to the fact that I want to include certain nuances within their first meetings/various scenes that I think will make interesting callbacks.

Out of the characters in general? Helena/Saraya have taken up quite a bit of my time as I’m currently trying to make a timeline of their relationship. Elizabeth, Alaric Voltaire, a few of the shopkeepers within Avalon, and another side character I haven’t introduced yet have also been getting more of my attention as of late…

It’s a constant cycle of my attention shifting from one character to the other… These are just the ones that currently have my attention.
