It’s hard to admit that I have a hard time looking at myself in the mirror these days.
Physically I feel AMAZING. I can walk without struggling to breathe… which I didn’t realize I did when I was heavier until I realized how much easier it was to breathe. I’m enjoying being more bendy than I was when I was heavier. And I’m stronger than I have been in a while.
With all of that, I still have a difficult time looking at how my skin is changing as I lose weight. Some days are different than others. On days where I don’t hate looking at myself, I feel vein.. because I can’t stop looking. There are things I like looking at on my body…. For example, my clavicles. I haven’t been able to see those since I was a kid. I’ve always thought my upper chest was nice, especially when my clavicles protruded. So I really enjoy looking at that part of my body. When I smile, my dimples are more noticeable. My neck is so slender now… like I actually have a neck again. My shoulders look so sexy, I love looking at them. And lastly, my jawline… I don’t think I’ve ever seen a jawline on my face…. And I like the way it looks. But if you notice, the only parts of my body I enjoy looking at are from my shoulders and up.
I’m working very hard to love the way my body is changing. So I’m learning to love little bits of myself little by little. I think I need to give myself some more grace.
If you’ve gotten this far,
Thank you for reading.
PS
The pictures above,
I love them.

A few shots from my walk to and from Yoga today and then resting once I got home.
7 months ago when I had my Gastric Sleeve surgery I could barely walk 5 minutes in my back yard. Today I walked a total of 2 miles and did an hour and a half of yoga. I'm pretty fucking proud of myself.

Hello everyone! I'm excited to start this blog and share my weight loss journey with you all.
I'm sure many of us can relate to the struggles of trying to lose weight, especially after having the SADI surgery.
What is SADI-S: SADI-S (Single anastomosis duodeno-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy) is a newer variant of duodenal switch surgery, which for three decades has helped obese patients control their weight. The key benefit of SADI-S is that one intestinal bypass is made, rather than two, resulting in less time in surgery and reduced risk of intestinal leakage.
Let's look at the rollercoaster a little👇🏾👇🏾:
I remember feeling so hopeless before my surgery, like I was stuck in a never-ending cycle of dieting and gaining weight back. But since having the surgery, l've noticed a significant change in my appetite and eating habits. It's amazing how much more mindful I am now about what l put into my body.
However, the journey isn't without its challenges. There are days when I feel like giving up, when the cravings are too strong, or when I don't see the results I want as quickly as I'd like. That's why I'm so grateful for this group and the support that comes with it. Knowing that I'm not alone in this journey and that there are others who understand what I'm going through is incredibly comforting.
So, l'd love to hear from you all! How has your weight loss journey been so far? What are some of the challenges you've faced, and how have you overcome them?

Hi I was just wondering how you’re feeling almost 1 year past gbs - also happy one year 🫶🏻(I’m also getting it done and was looking through tags to see how people responded to the surgery) tysm & have a great day 🫶🏻
Hey there! Nice of you to ask! I actually had to be reminded yesterday that I hit my one year anniversary.
I will be *honest*. My healing process was IMMENSELY difficult. In the early months, I suffered from immense nausea constantly and it was difficult to get anything in. I was feeling a lot of regret at the time, which I no longer feel, but your first year is definitely a test of psychological and physical strength for sure.
Now one year in, I'm able to actually eat most, if not all foods. I just have to be mindful about the amount and speed I eat because I can easily trigger nausea or something feeling stuck. As far as weight loss, I have reached my goal weight a long time ago (which was 130 lbs for my height) I'm currently 120 lbs which is lower than I expected and its been more of a challenge to keep on the weight than lose it.
While a part of me does wish I was able to do this in a more natural way, I will say this surgery does force you to change the way you look at food. I can't imagine finishing whole entire meals (as per usual American servings) in one sitting. I usually eat maybe a third and have plenty of left overs left for later and the rest of the day.
Good luck! Please do whats best for you and *your* body!

9 years later after RNY surgery
Good morning beautiful people!!  I want to discuss a subject that’s really close to my heart.  I lost my father at the age of 9 years old.  He was killed my a drunk driver that didn’t want to damage his car so he hit my father on his motorcycle.  He died at the scene on the way to work. He made my mother a widow at the age of 29 years old.  He had just turned 30 two weeks before.   The reason I…

Preparing Mentally for Weight Loss Surgery: Tips and Tricks
Tumblr media
Preparing for weight loss surgery in Punjab is not only about the physical aspects but also the mental and emotional readiness. Dr. Amit Sood, a renowned surgeon, emphasizes the importance of mental preparation for a successful procedure and long-term results. This blog outlines key tips to help patients approach their weight loss surgery with the right mindset, fostering long-term success and improved well-being.
Understand the Procedure
The first step in mentally preparing for weight loss surgery in Punjab is to understand the procedure fully. Bariatric surgery, including options like gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy, is a life-changing decision. Patients should be aware of how the surgery works, the recovery process, and what changes it will bring to their daily life. Dr. Amit Sood encourages patients to ask questions and clarify their doubts so they feel confident going into surgery.
Set Realistic Expectations
While weight loss surgery in Punjab can significantly impact your health, it’s crucial to have realistic expectations. Surgery alone won’t produce overnight results. Patients need to follow post-surgery guidelines, including diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes, to achieve and maintain their weight loss goals. Setting attainable milestones helps in staying motivated without becoming overwhelmed.
Build a Support System
Having a strong support system is essential in preparing mentally for weight loss surgery in Punjab. Surround yourself with family, friends, or a support group who understand the challenges and are there to provide emotional backing. Whether it's joining a bariatric support group or relying on close friends, a solid network will help patients through the emotional ups and downs of the process.
Address Emotional Eating
Many patients struggle with emotional eating, which can hinder long-term success after weight loss surgery in Punjab. Before surgery, it’s essential to recognize emotional eating triggers and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Working with a therapist or counselor can help patients identify these habits and replace them with more constructive responses, such as physical activity or mindfulness techniques.
Prepare for Lifestyle Changes
Mental readiness also involves accepting the lifestyle changes that follow weight loss surgery in Punjab. Your eating habits, portion sizes, and exercise routines will be different, and being open to these changes is vital for success. Dr. Amit Sood advises patients to start incorporating smaller changes before surgery to ease into a post-surgery lifestyle. This might involve portion control, mindful eating, or adding low-impact exercises into daily routines.
Manage Anxiety and Stress
It's natural to feel anxious before any major surgery. Managing stress and anxiety before your weight loss surgery in Punjab is critical to mental well-being. Techniques such as meditation, breathing exercises, and even talking to a counselor can help alleviate pre-surgery stress. By developing a positive mindset, patients are more likely to approach their surgery with confidence and optimism.
Visualize Your Future Self
Another effective tip is to visualize yourself after surgery. How will you feel once you’ve achieved your weight loss goals? Picture the positive outcomes – from improved mobility to enhanced self-confidence. Visualization can be a powerful tool to stay motivated and mentally focused on long-term health goals after weight loss surgery in Punjab.
Conclusion
Mental preparation is as important as the physical aspects when undergoing weight loss surgery in Punjab. By understanding the procedure, setting realistic expectations, building a support system, and managing emotional and mental challenges, patients can ensure they are fully prepared for the journey ahead. With guidance from Dr. Amit Sood and the right mental framework, patients can make the most of their bariatric surgery and achieve lasting results.

I'm 10 days out from my gastric bypass surgery and though I'm happy I've lost 15 pounds since I started this journey, I'm honestly feeling miserable.
I'm sick of this liquid/puree diet, though its the only thing my new stomach can handle. Regardless, every time I consume literally anything, including liquids, I feel instantly nauseous.
I feel like I'm literally losing weight from starving my body on a daily basis. The one pro is that I'm not as constantly hungry as I was before the surgery, but to eat only two table spoons of food every 5 hours and then instantly feel sick to my stomach has been terrible.
I just can't wait for my stomach to heal so I can actually enjoy food again. I actually miss it.
Seeing how little I eat, I wonder how long it will take until I can enjoy eating socially again.

What Supplements and Nutrients are Necessary After Mexico Bariatric Center?
Undergoing a bariatric procedure is not a magic cure for obesity but an extraordinary tool to help individuals lose weight and lead a healthier, longer, and more fulfilling life. Success depends on following guidelines regarding diet, exercise, and new healthy habits. At Mexico Bariatric Center, part of Health & Wellness Bazaar, we provide comprehensive medical treatment to ensure remarkable and satisfying results.
Importance of Protein Following a Mexico Bariatric Center Procedure
Macronutrients such as carbohydrates and fats are easily stored in our bodies. However, protein, made up of several amino acids, needs to be consumed through foods and diet as most of these amino acids cannot be produced by the body naturally.
A nutritionist specializing in bariatric patients will recommend a daily intake of protein after surgery based on several factors, including age, gender, surgery type, and level of physical activity. Typically, patients are instructed to consume 60 to 120 grams of protein per day after a bariatric procedure. However, studies indicate that many patients do not get the correct amount of protein daily.
Protein Supplementation
Tracking food and supplement intake can be challenging, and many people find it difficult to meet their necessary protein intake after bariatric surgery. Protein supplements can help achieve this goal. These supplements come in various flavors and can be sourced from many healthy ingredients, including pea, egg white, whey, and soy. Whey protein is particularly popular as it contains all vital amino acids to support muscle growth and reduce unwanted fat.
Sample Recipes
Protein Pancakes
Ingredients:
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon of baking powder
2 tablespoons of water or milk (preferably unsweetened almond milk)
1 pinch of salt
2 scoops of whey protein (various flavors like banana and vanilla)
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
In another small bowl, beat the eggs and add the milk.
Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients.
Heat a skillet to medium temperature.
Add ¼ cup of the protein pancake mix to the hot skillet.
Cook for 3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for 1 more minute.
Green Protein Shake
Ingredients:
½ small avocado (pitted and peeled)
Small lime (juiced)
½ cup of spinach (fresh or frozen)
¼ cup of parsley (fresh)
6 oz. of water or another liquid (milk, almond milk, soy milk)
4-6 ice cubes
2 scoops of whey protein
Instructions:
Blend all ingredients (except ice) until smooth.
Pour over ice.
Importance of Vitamins and Minerals
Following a bariatric procedure, it is crucial to supplement your diet with essential vitamins and minerals to ensure long-term success.
Vitamin B1 (Thiamin)
Helps convert food into energy and contributes to healthy liver, skin, and hair.
Deficiency symptoms: abdominal discomfort, fatigue, irritability, and uneven sleep.
Vitamin B12
Allows the body to produce new red blood cells and contributes to a healthy central nervous system.
Deficiency symptoms: muscle tingling, weakness, and lightheadedness.
Iron
Vital for producing hemoglobin and supporting immune function.
Deficiency symptoms: brittle nails, dizziness, fatigue, lightheadedness, and fast heart rate.
Calcium
Stored primarily in the bones and needed for the body’s bone structure.
Deficiency symptoms: confusion or memory loss, muscle spasms, numbness, and tingling.
Importance of Calcium
Calcium is the body’s most abundant mineral and is essential for maintaining bone structure. Since the body cannot produce calcium on its own, it must be obtained through diet and supplements. Bariatric patients need to take calcium supplements following their procedure, with the required amount depending on the procedure and medical history. Typically, patients who have undergone an adjustable gastric band, sleeve gastrectomy, or gastric bypass need approximately 1,200 to 1,500 milligrams of calcium daily.
Vitamin D and Calcium
Both can be obtained from dairy products.
Symptoms of deficiency: confusion or memory loss, muscle spasms, numbness, and tingling.
A healthy and varied diet after a procedure like gastric sleeve in Mexico can provide the necessary nutrients, and easily accessible supplements designed for bariatric patients can help meet these needs.
