How homophobic people felt in July 2022 after saying that Will wasn’t gay even though in the first 2 god damn episodes of season 4 Eleven told Mike in a letter that she thought Will’s painting was for someone he liked and then Will’s GAY ASS took it to the AIRPORT. AND THEN GAVE IT TO MIKE TO MAKE HIM FEEL BETTER ABOUT EL NOT NEEDING HIM ANYMORE BECAUSE HE [mike] SAID IN THE LAST EPISODE OF SEASON 3 THAT HE LIKES PRESENTS.

i just thought of this idea for st5 ok picture this:

will gets vecnaed but only mikes there. their at the farm and mike doesnt have any music or like cds so he pulls out his acoustic guitar (which he brought for campfire singalongs obv)

so he is like hysterically sobbing rn bc hes so scared of losing will, and he starts to play boys dont cry. his singing is super jolted bc hes crying so hard (its ironic cause the songs called boys dont cry)

and then will wakes up from vecna and theyre both hugging and sobbing and theres an ily confession or wtv and it turns out that mike learned the song bc he wanted to sing it for will at the campfire

if this doesnt happen im suing like mike literally had a guitar in his room in s4 and what could be a guitar strap in that pic from ross at the start of the year

but like i can just picture mike sobbing while singing DESPERATLEY trying to wake will up ok like i would DIE

I wanna make a master post for just all the undeniable Byler evidence, just for when I feel that doubt creeping in, but I must collect more info so for now this is all I got.

Forgive me for these explanations being very short, I'm trying to keep it simple. Besides, you probably have an idea of most of these.

1. If Byler really was that delusional, people on the show would've said so long ago. Their reaction to WillxEl was enough proof that they are willing to tell us when we are and aren't going insane with theories.

2. Mike Wheeler's top song in his OFFICIAL Spotify playlist is Smalltown Boy. The song about wanting to flee your home town... to be openly gay.

3. Caleb McLaughlin saying Lumax's love is "nothing like Mike and El's" and then proceeding to say Lumax's love is real! 😊

4. The entire Eyewitness parallel. Like, girlie.. (I recommend reading from The Byler Slides.)

5. This show has time and time again forced how in love Will is for Mike down our throats, why on earth waste all that screen time for nothing?

6. The s4 end pairings. You're telling me Jopper, Jancy, Lumax and Byler being together isn't a coincidence? Mhm..

7. On that note, El picking the dead version of the flowers Mike picked for her. This is literally a metaphor for their decaying relationship.

8. The triple take.😭 We know Will was sneaking glances because he's got a crush but MIKE?............

9. Mike nodding along to "what if they don't like the truth?". If being in love with El was the truth, he wouldn't have agreed. She would like the "truth".

10. Nancy couldn't say she loves steve and everyone says "Aha! She doesn't love him". Mike couldn't say he loves El and everyone says "Erm uh he's nervous because his parents don't love each other ! And uh he doesn't know how to express his love !! Yeah.." Right.

What's your favorite byler theory and why?

okay i have two!

1. this one’s small: i love the idea that mike was always trying to call will, but the line was busy due to joyce’s job. it’s not even fully a theory, since mike and el couldn’t talk over the phone for safety reasons but mike was always complaining about the line being busy. media literacy reveals one outcome.

i really don’t believe that mike would willingly let will drift away. this boy risked his life for his best friend on multiple occasions. he knows will is quiet, and he’s always met him more than half way to bring him out of his shell. even if distracted by el, there’s no way he wouldn’t reach out to will.

2. will and mike in the upside down together. ESPECIALLY the theory of mike jumping in to rescue will. i really want mike to have some proper paladin / knight in shining armor moments. him “jumping” to save a friend was done in season one, and this could be an incredible callback to that. will gets pulled in and mike doesn’t hesitate to go after will. watching byler fight to protect each other in the thick of it would be really cool.

i love this theory for a few reasons. i really want will to be in the upside down again (i wanna see if the time shifts and how he reacts to being there again). i also want byler to be stuck alone together so they can work out their feelings. and finally, i want mike to be at the center of a supernatural plot line. it makes sense that he’d be targeted by vecna. he’s willel’s weakness.

mike needs more story. he’s been in the backseat for too long. and he’s the best at bringing will back when he’s in an “episode” so that could be very useful in st5! mike spent all of the first season trying to get will back from the upside down…what if he spent the last there with him?

it’s been foreshadowed and i would love it. thanks anon!

Hey so I might be insane but what if I told you the old Byers’ house still has a part of the upside down in it (and no one has bought it yet), so to weaken Vecna, Mike and Will go there in the middle of the night and spill gasoline all over the place and light it up with a cigarette and then it explodes into flames and Will collapses on the ground because it’s a hive mind and he’s still connected to it all, and Mike just holds him until it’s over. Then what.

Will said that to Mike, but earlier he had said to Mike, “You’re the heart.” And we know that Will was projecting his feelings for Mike as El’s soo..

Therefore Will would hypothetically fall apart if it weren’t for Mike.

oooh ok so in terms of like gates i LOVE flickergate (sm so that my brain has accepted it as truth like if it doesnt happen in s5 i will SUE)

but my personal theory is that both mike and will get vecnad and both of their visions are of eachother dying. then they find eachother in their visions at the swings 🥹

thinking about it now, why doesn't finn just share his opinions on Byler vs Mileven? i know he says he doesn't "ship" but you're bound to have some sort of preference for who your own character ends up with, even if it's just from the perspective of what makes sense for the plot. for Noah to be so open about how much he loves the idea of Byler, it's clear he's allowed to share.

it's not like anyone's immediately going "aha! byler endgame because Noah said he likes it" because obviously Noah's going to want what his character wants. so if it's so obvious that Mike is in love with El, why doesn't Finn just say he hopes they end up together? if his character is so head over heels for this girl, why is he always playing both sides?

"uh, i just- idk, i mean.. it, um- just leave it up to the Duffers... idk."

why is he so opposed to saying "well, Mike's not in love with Will"? why can't he say he thinks being with El is the most sensible option? why is he so against saying he wants what his character wants?

maybe that's not what Mike wants.
