El thinks of him when she confronts Brenner about the mind flayer, we know things like that. But Mike also thinks of him when he tells El he loves her.

They're all thinking of him. The last time they saw him.

The way he was never the same.

But Mike is thinking about the last time he saw him.

Losing him.

The way they were never the same.

Yes, Will's disappearance changed everyone's trajectory forever. But he also changed Mike. He also made Mike's personal and romantic life impossible to return to after him.

He haunts more than just the people who mourn his death.

(The sole purpose of Mike's season 2 separation from El in the first place is so that he can never truly go back after Will)

ok but why do I kinda loves the concept of Max being the first to ‘find out’ that Mike likes Will

I mean if everyone doesn’t already know then they at least have an idea of what’s going on between them especially Dustin and Lucas

but imagine Max and Mike being stuck together for some reason,they’re bickering as per usual and Max makes an accidentally hurtful comment to Mike

he has a mental breakdown bc of everything that’s going on and basically confesses directly to her or Max just realises that all the little things she noticed between him and Will were real,they really did like-no love each other and El was just stuck in the middle

after this she spends the rest of her time getting Mike and Will together as much as possible(which Mike says he hates but secretly loves bc y’know it’s more time with Will)and helps El become more independent and that’s how Max solves Byler while Dustin,Lucas,Nancy,Jonathan,Jopper,Steve,Robin,Vecna,Mews(from beyond😔✊🕊️)and many more watch in complete shock

Watching Wayward Pines for potential ST5 inspo bc the Duffers wrote a couple episodes in s1, and when I got to their second (last) episode and their name crossed the screen, I noticed a visual parallel that might already exist on the show…

Recognize it??

It instantly reminded me of that last shot for the opening of s3, with the landscape peaking out behind the Russian base. But when I went back and actually compared the two, holy shit it’s near identical, and not just the landscape.

I didn’t even remember the helicopter being there on the left, not to mention the pillar-esaue contraption at the center. Like… they’re the same picture.!

With them being credited right at that moment, it’s obvious this was an intentional nod to their previous work.

I just thought it was cool so I wanted to share, but in terms of my watch overall, there is a LOT going on that they could pull from. I’m only halfway through s1, though I’ve heard the show goes downhill in s2 so we’ll see how that goes 😂
