Sleeping Together (Literally) Headcanons

Just some general fluff and sweet headcanons for Byakuya, Nagito, and Kokichi.

I had to get these out of my brain so I could work on kinktober fics

BYAKUYA TOGAMI

He has a nighttime routine so please don’t interrupt him, he has extremely little patience if you try.

Not one for cuddles (lies).

He will fall asleep as far away from you as possible.

He will wake up touching you in some way- an arm over your waist, your head on his chest, or even just legs touching

Don’t try to sleep in, that doesn’t fly with him.

No morning kisses, don’t even try.

Doesn’t snore, but does occasionally grunt or groan.

Blanket hog and will admit to it, this isn’t a battle you’ll win.

Will accept you guys sleeping with separate blankets to prevent this but it doesn’t prevent him waking up being close to you.

NAGITO KOMAEDA

Spending the night (or even just napping) with Nagito takes a while to work up to.

Be patient with him!  I promise he wants to sleep with you just as bad but he fears everything going wrong.

He will be stiff and nervous when you first get in bed next to him, he’s not uncomfortable he just… doesn’t know why you’re wanting to be in bed with him, surely you have other people you could be near.

You have to bring up cuddling him.

His body is cold, please use blankets and warm him up.

Has nightmares about his illness, he’ll tell you it’s fine and to not stay up with him but at least sit up with him for a few minutes.

Snores and knows it, please don’t bring it up.

You are free to get up when you want, but why would you want to?

He prefers to have you wrap an arm over him, put a leg over him, hold his hand, just do ANYTHING to remind him that he’s alive, that he’s with you.

Will eventually get more and more comfortable with you being in bed with him and will tease you over wanting to be so close to someone like him.  It’s all jokes, don’t take it too seriously.

KOKICHI OMA

No naptime cuddles, he gets too hot and uncomfortable.

His body is like a heater, blankets aren’t required unless it’s just a comfort thing for either of you.

He has to have the TV on, a song playing on his phone, SOMETHING- he will fall asleep with just a fan on but that takes a very long time.  Silence is a big no.

He will cuddle you, he prefers to be the big spoon regardless of your size.

That’s not to say he doesn’t like to be held while sleeping, but he’s got a reputation to maintain y’know

Will hold you as close and as tight as possible, good luck if you have to get up in the middle of the night.

This fucker snores and talks and due to his closeness, you will wake up.  This is unavoidable, please understand.

You aren’t sleeping in, the second he’s awake you have to be awake.

He’ll try to be good sometimes and let you sleep in, but he just doesn’t have the patience for you to sleep too long.  He’s not doing this to be a bastard, he just doesn’t comprehend how much time has passed.

If you wake up before him, you aren’t gonna be able to wake him up until he’s ready to.

after a while, the hickey turns a nice red color, and he stares at it in the mirror. everytime he thinks about it, he can practically feel the lips on his skin again. a type of phantom effect...

he subconciously touches the mark as he goes about his day (totally not getting flashbacks from how good it felt)

he's stuttering out sentences that get cut off everytime they breathe on his skin

he's way too sensitive to heat, and the warmth of their mouth on his skin isn't helping his case (neither is the fact that he's burning up from the inside out)

his flushed skin turned the same bright red as the hickey

he is VERY thankful that his uniform shirt has a longer collar

he gets used to the colorful mark, tracing it with his finger and shuddering deliciously everytime he imagines it's their mouth there instead

byakuya togami ♡

he's not shocked to see that he is able to make them act like this

as in; they're licking up his neck and giving his skin a nice gentle tug with the suction of their lips. then, going on to run their teeth over the area over and over

they can't see it but he is smiling wickedly to himself

he orders them beforehand to leave a hickey in a place where his shirt and blazer will be sure to cover up

those marks they give are for his eyes only. he simply believes it's no one else's business and would show them to no one.

kokichi ouma ♡

little brat went "ow! ouch!! that hurts, stoppp!!!" in a loud, exaggerated voice that they knew they needed to make stop ASAP

the harder they bit down, the quieter he became so, they continued

he eventually picked up his hand and held it to the back of their head

"stop and i'm going to scream much louder than that" he threatened.

he has his trusty bandana to hide whatever marks he needs to...however, ever since they gave him hickeys, kokichi wore it hanging lower on his neck, if ever.

Byakuya

When you're jealous:

Thinks you're being ridiculous, calls you ridiculous

He thinks there is no reason for you to be jealous, when you're the only person he actually doesn't mind being around Plus isn't it kind of impressive how he can separate the world from Byakuya and not Byakuya

He's does love you but that doesn't mean he won't keep his mouth shut, like start insulting you lightly tho bc he don't wanna hurt your feeling that much and questioning if you trust him when it comes to others and this relationship so have to explain to him that it wasn't him you didn't trust, it was the person he was around

Asks who your jealous of so he can distant himself from that person so you don't have to be jealous anymore but won't tell you that part

IF you're jealous of Toko, he'll be bewildered like HOW and WHY!? He thought it was pretty clear he disliked being around her so why are you feeling that way!? You better have a good reasoning, Since Toko/Jack does follow him wherever he goes. To keep you from feeling that way again, He'll bring you with him every time Toko comes around

Tells you never to be jealous of that imbecile or anyone of that matter as if you can control it like 😭

When he's jealous:

I don't think he'll understand it at first but give him a few minutes, then he'll understand it then hate it and blames it all on you.

Like he wouldn't straight tell you he's jealous of some lowlife you hang around, but would make up a surprising reasonable excuse of why you shouldn't hang around them like

If you ignore his excuse and continue hanging around the person he'll join as well despite whether it's a private conversation or not and would gladly argue if one of you have an issue with it

I feel like when Byakuya is jealous, he would obviously not tell you that he's jealous but try to give you reason on why you should stop seeing that person and will constantly be around you more than usual and if you question it he'll question you back asking if he can't be around his lover

You'll have to found out on your on that he's jealous and when you confront him about it, he'll at first try to deny it then try to explain it in a way so he doesn't sound jealous but instead it makes him sound like he's needy so then he'll just agree and tell you he's jealous but would be arrogant about it and tell you it's your fault for not being considerate about his feelings but he's just being a bit petty

You'll have to distant yourself from that person so he doesn't have to feel that way anymore

Nagito

When you're jealous:

He thinks it’s his fault why you feel this way.

Would apologize and tell you that he’s the worst for making you feel such a thing and would continuously insult himself while saying he’s even unworthy of being in your presence

You have to tell him he’s not the problem and it’s just you, yourself feeling this way against the person he’s hanging around

I feel like he wouldn’t really know what to do with your jealousy because despite what you said he still feels like it’s his fault for making you feel such a thing. So he would would ask if you want him to stop hanging around the person all together and he’ll do it gladly

He’ll literally start bashing you with compliments. He doesn’t want you to feel as if he’ll ever leave you since you’re genuinely one of the only people who would put up with him and the only single person who would actually surprisingly to him feels a romantic way about him

You would have to tell him that you don’t want him to lose a friend just because you’re feeling this way so since he doesn’t really not what to do other than comfort you and tell you you’re the only one for him and that you're his main hope in the world, he’ll distant himself from the person just for you

When he's jealous:

Wouldn’t tell you, feels as if he’s bothering you if he did tell you and thinks he should be grateful for the fact someone like you even looked his way

So basically in other words, you gotta find out on your own man. I feel like he’s the type to watch you and that other person talking from afar and if both of you look his way he’ll just smile casually and wave as if he wasn’t just debating whether to speak with you or leave the room

Despite all this I feel like he’s the type to distant himself from you rather than having to ask you to distant yourself from the person and wouldn’t actually discuss his feelings with you since he would feel like he’s bothering you.

So you had to pull him away in private and discuss with him about it, he’ll start apologizing and would feel bad for making you even waste your time discussing this topic with a “worthless trash” his words like himself.

You had to remind him that his feelings mattered as much as yours when it came to the relationship and you would grateful distant yourself from that person if it made him feel him better and would comfort and reassure him that your eyes only land and are only interest in him

he’ll try to started bashing you with compliments but you kept on shushing him and remind that you’re thinking about him right now not yourself

Kokichi

When you're jealous:

Thinks it’s the most funniest shit in the world and would make fun of you/tease you for feeling that way

I feel like he might be little toxic and just wants to see your reaction at times so he would purposely ignore you at time and give more attention to the person your jealous of just to see your reaction and would feel smug about it. But he swore he only done that only ONE Five TIMES

He does secretly thinks you being jealous is really cute and funny but would only mention the funny part. Would straight up make you confess why you’re jealous then he ends up fake pouting and asking if you don’t trust him with other people

Even if you do try to explain how you do trust him and it’s just the person, he already knows that and just wants to mess with you a bit

Exaggerated over the whole thing and tries to make you look like your in the wrong but you both know it’s just an act Would fake cry if you called him out on his act too early and would say you’re being mean to him

After once he’s finally done having his fun, he’ll try to comfort you while teasing you at the same time and would just tell you he won’t leave you unless you leave first or would tell he’s the most loyalist and truthful person to ever exist in your life Obviously a lie

He wouldn’t tell you but he would distance himself from the person your jealous of and would insult them/give backhand compliments so you can understand he’ll never feel a single thing for the person and only wants you obviously wouldn’t tell you none of the things he did, but you would notice it on your own

When he's jealous:

Wouldn’t tell you, wouldn’t even let you know. And if you do find out, he’ll continuously deny it and starts throwing random subjects just to change the topic

I feel like he’s the type to want more of your attention when he’s jealous, like he’ll be more teasing and bothering you more especially if you’re with the specific person he’s jealous of.

He’ll quite literally pop out of nowhere and bother you guys regardless whether he’s annoying you or not

He would fake cry and fake pout more than usual if you’re barely giving him any attention so he’ll do that just to get your attention

He’ll probably be more insulting/making fun of the person he’s jealous of even in front of you at times so you can realize how much of a annoying loser the person is and hang out with him instead

If you do defend the person at times from his insults, he’ll be secretly annoyed and gets more jealous but just acts it off and fake pouts at you

Once you do find out about his jealousy at this point he won’t even deny anymore and purposely over exaggerate with fake tears and fake pouts and say that you been knew about his feelings and was “purposely” trying to make him feel even worse

Even if you deny it, he knows you wouldn’t do that and just wants a reaction so for his sake every-time you hang around the person, you take him with you and slightly distant yourself from the person a bit

Rantaro

When you're jealous:

Once you tell him, he would specifically like to know what he’s doing with the person that is making you jealous so when he hangs out with other people he doesn’t do it again so you won’t jealous anymore

He thinks that you being jealous is really cute and lightly tease you about it but he does take your feelings seriously and would actually do something so you won’t feel that way again

He wouldn’t really distant himself from the person but would spend more time with you just to reassure you that he wants you and only you and not that person

He take you out on dates or bring you out to one of his travels or just you and him hanging you in general.

He’s not really the one to start PDA but doesn’t really mind it but if it’s for making you feel better and reassuring you and if you don’t mind as well then he’ll try to hold your hand or put hand arm around you a couple of times

But if you do want him to distant himself from the person regardless of the fact he’s spending more time with you. He wouldn’t really understand at first and questions you a bit but if it makes you feel better he’ll do it, but he won’t distant himself from the person for that long since he considers them as a friend

He’ll probably tell the person about your jealousy so they won’t think he’s purposely wanting to get away from them

When he's jealous:

He wouldn’t even notice that he’s was jealous, he’ll probably assume that he’s upset with the person for no reason and look past it since he isn’t the type to jump to conclusions

I think it’ll take like 2 days or less for him to realize that he’s jealous, like how to took him to bit to realize when he was gaining feelings for you.

So once he finally gets that he’s jealous, he wouldn’t really know what to do and would assume that the feelings would go away on its own. But at first He’ll try to be in most not every conversations you and that person and would feel slightly annoyed if you and that person hug at times.

He won’t beat around the bush about his feelings or keep it hidden away. So once his feelings goes a bit too high for his liking, he went and talked to you about it

He was glad that you were understanding and he didn’t want you to distant yourself from the person but you did it anyways just for him. He can’t help but wonder how lucky he is for you at times

Hajime

When you're jealous:

When you told him that you were jealous, he thought it was really cute at first but was also worried because he didn’t want you to feel that way

At first he wanted to make sure that he wasn’t the problem so he asked you if you trusted him with hanging out with others and you had to reassure him you did trust him and it was just the person he was hanging around

He would feel somewhat responsible if you been feeling this way for a while now and hasn’t said anything till now, so he’ll try to make it up to you by spending more time with you than with the other person

He even apologized once for not noticing your feelings sooner but you told him he didn’t need to apologize and it was just you feeling that way with that person

Would distance himself from that person. But if it’s Chiaki that you’re jealous of, he can kind of understand why since him and her spend quite a lot of time together and she usually tags along with the both of you during hangouts so he would talk to Chiaki first about it and she’ll obviously be understanding about it

She even went over to you and decided to let you know that she has no romantic feelings for Hajime and it’s only platonic. She thinks you and Hajime are a great couple and doesn’t want to get in between of that

He would reassure you and plan hangouts with you more than you guys often do just to make sure you know that he only loves you and only wants you

When he's jealous:

He realized his feelings right away and was so embarrassed about it and didn’t want you to know or find out. It’s not that he doesn’t like communicating with you it’s just he finds it a bit embarrassing being vulnerable in front of you at times so he’ll keep his mouth shut about his jealousy.

I think Hajime is the type to be a bit insecure when he’s jealous and wants to show you off more and impress you. Because unlike you, Hajime isn’t a ultimate and is just a reserve course and if it’s an ultimate he’s jealous of he would feel even more insecure because he would think they are quite obviously better than him and doesn’t want you leaving him for them.

First he would try to show you off a bit, and do more PDA if you’re fine with it ofc like holding your hand in public more or putting his arm around you more and hugging you Maybe kissing if you’re at that stage in the relationship would def do more PDA If the person he is jealous of happens to be in the same room

He doesn’t want to be that insecure of himself so he’ll talk with Chiaki and she should tell him to discuss his feelings with you but he told her how he didn’t want to result to that yet and instead she gave him a different kind of advice and that’s to win you over like a video game, despite the fact you’re already his

↣ togami byakuya

what you don't expect at 11:30pm, obviously after the set nighttime where walking about the school was prohibited, is a knock at your door. you were awake, reading through a novel that you found in the library that you found interesting. when you hear the knocking, you're suspicious that it's someone attempting to take your life to escape this hell, so you take the bat set beside your door (taken from the sports equipment) and hold it at your side.

you open the door slightly, only enough to peek out and see the one and only byakuya standing at your door, in what looks like his pyjamas. you raise your brows, not seeing any murder weapon and opening the door fully.

"byakuya. it's really late, y'know..." you sigh, putting the bat away.

he notices, raised brow. "i know that. i've been unable to sleep due to our... argument earlier."

you squint your eyes at him. "what? have some insults to spray at me that you didn't think of in the cafeteria?" you scoff, crossing your arms, "i don't want to continue this shit when we should be sleeping."

"please." he grunts, rolling his eyes. you want to slam the door in his face. why is he the one giving you attitude? "i'm unable to rest due to our problem. let me in and we can speak about this properly."

you're a bit suspicious of him, but if he did try to attack you, you would be able to hold him off long enough to get help. he may be tall, but... he doesn't look like much of a fighter.

however, the look in his eyes makes you rethink. he looks... seriously irritated, or upset. you let him in, closing the door behind him. when you turn around, he's awkwardly standing there, hands in his pockets. he doesn't know where to sit.

"on the bed." you huff, walking over and taking your spot at the head. he slowly follows, sitting at the foot end of the bed and facing you. "what do you wanna' say?"

he finds it hard to talk to you now, since you're sitting right in front of him. and in your pyjamas, no less. something he hasn't seen on you before. byakuya fixes his glasses, hands on the bed as he leaned back.

"i... apologise for the things i said."

the statement makes you widen your eyes. did... you hear him right? he apologises? there's no way!

"they were uncalled for and i did not think of the consequences." he admits to you, unable to meet your eye. you are too busy staring at his red, embarrassed face to ask him about it. "i shouldn't have belittled you to the point of tears."

"shut up... i wasn't crying." you mutter out, looking at the bed sheets. "my hayfever..."

"sure." he huffs, looking back at you. he notices your troubled expression again and wipes off his smug look. "either way, i apologise. i will think about what i say before i speak, especially... to you."

you look back at him, feeling his hand rest against yours. he hums out, "i will do better."

you almost can't believe he is even saying these things. if it weren't for how hard your heart was beating, you would've guessed you were dreaming. but here he was, nearly holding your hand as he says he's sorry.

"thank you, byakuya. i appreciate your apology." you retort, brushing a thumb over his knuckles. he begins to glow pink, you notice. "it... it really means a lot that you're here right now."

your smile makes his stomach jump. he doesn't know what it is, but it's scaring him a little.

"yes, thats, um... that's good." he says, clearing his throat, "i won't speak like that to you ever again."

you chuckle, tilting your head at him. "but you talk to everyone else that way." you state.

he huffs, looking away, shoulder slightly touching yours, "i... i frankly don't care about the others. you're much more... tolerable."

you can't help but grin at his disguised compliment. you laugh a little, patting his arm, "thank you, good to know you've taken a liking to me, byakuya."

he chokes on his words, unable to find a response. after you've finished your laughter, he fixes his glasses and looks to your pillows. "shall i let you rest?"

"oh, right." you say, standing up and walking to the door. he follows behind, hand still brushing against yours. you open the door, watching him now stand in the hallway, looking at you. "goodnight, byakuya."

he goes silent, staring at you. his eyes dart from eye to eye, and you go to ask what he's thinking before he leans forward, brushing a soft kiss against your forehead.

when he pulls away, he sees your wide-eyed expression. you look shocked, as anyone would be in this situation. byakuya only smiles at the reaction, as if he wasn't blushing the brightest red in the world.

"goodnight. sleep well." he tells you, walking off to his room. you could never tell what he was thinking, that guy.

↣ hinata hajime

it was cold when you began walking around the island, heading towards the restaurant to eat lunch with everyone else. however, on the way there, you notice a certain somebody sitting on a nearby bench, scribbling in his notebook.

it wasn't really like him to be out on this side of the island alone, with no reason to be. that's what concerns you, making you stop your mission to get some food before akane does, and to instead see what's going on with him.

"hajime!" you call out, making your way towards him. when he looks up to see you, he almost panics, closing his notebook and hiding it under his leg. you decide not to press about it. not yet, at least. "what're you doing here? it's lunch time, and akane won't wait for us."

"i—i'm just collecting my thoughts..." he claims, watching you sit beside him. the wind blows, making his face cold as he is made highly aware of his notebook. "i didn't think anyone would be here at this time."

"well luckily i caught you." you say, smiling at him, "it's so cold out. aren't you freezing?"

"ah, well... you know, it's usually so warm, i don't bother bringing jackets out." he admits, a reasonable response. you nod your head, suddenly tugging off your thick jacket and standing up. "what're you doing, y/n?"

"hold on." you say, in front of him and tossing the jacket around his shoulders. his face is mere inches away from your chest as you heave your jacket comfortably around him. once you're finished, you clutch the front together, grinning. "are you warm now?"

his pink face says it all. you were so kind to him, but why? what did it earn you?

"what? no, no, i don't... i don't want it." he says, furrowing his brows and placing his hand over yours to push it away. you blink at his actions, keeping the jacket around him. he always seemed to be like this when you would offer something, anything to him. did he not like that? "y/n... is this really okay?"

"yes, hajime." you chuckle, feeling him gently hold your hand now. he still looked unconvinced, his frown and pointed look showing that off already. you only rolls your eyes and make sure the jacket is on properly and wouldn't slide off his shoulders.

"are you not cold?" he questions, watching you sit back down, "this jacket is a big. doesn't fit either of us."

"i'll be okay, hajime." you respond, crossing your arms, "and nekomaru gave me his spare jacket after i lost mine at the beach. so it's gigantic, but it's warm."

when you feel a heavy weight on your shoulder, you look to your side to see hajime's arm around you. he's trying to put the jacket over you as well, since there's more than enough room. his cheeks darken in colour when you stare at him.

"why're you looking at me like that? i—i don't want you to freeze." he tells you, shuffling closer to your spot. the heat he radiates is like a fireplace. with him this close, you can easily tell that he's blushing like crazy. the guy just couldn't keep a straight face. you smile. "is this okay?"

you glance at his expression once more, embarrassed. once you nod your head, hajime rests his arm around your shoulder and rubs gently, trying to warm you up. he seems a little nervous, as if you were feeling uncomfortable from his actions, but when he feels you lean in, he relaxes.

"you're nice, hajime." you say, looking at the view of the gardens in front of you, "i'm glad i met a guy like you."

"thank you..." he says, faulting when he feels your thigh touch his. you simply grin at him, making him relax further against you. you were so enticing, it made his head spin sometimes. "i'm grateful to have met you too."

"when we get outta' here, you and i should go out for dinner." you offer, seeing how he widens his eyes at the request. he definitely did not expect that, but nevertheless he nods his head. "great. i look forward to it."

hajime was the kinda' guy who didn't want to make the first move, but once you start, he gets it rolling. when you lean against him, he feels as if it's his signal to go forward. if it wasn't that, then maybe you just outright asking him out was the sign. either way, he squeezes your shoulder, pulling you taut against him.

"what were you writing about?" you question, breaking him out of his daydreaming state.

"nothing." he says, avoiding the question. you look to him, seeing the way he glances to the side to avert your eyes. "it's nothing, really."

you weren't stupid; it probably had something to do with you, right? if not you exclusively, then at least relating to you. and you would be correct, he was indeed writing about you. how you made him feel, the things you would do for him that made his heart flutter. he would never admit to it though, in fear of someone stealing the book to find out his secrets.

and he couldn't tell you, not yet. so for now, he sits beside you, holding you close and letting you talk about whatever you wanted to. as long as he was with you.

"i knew you'd be here." his voice cuts through the soft waves on the shore. you turn your head, seeing the one and only weirdo himself. "you do know that dinner is coming up, right?"

you huff back, legs spread onto the sand, "i know, nagito. surely you're hungry, right?" you look over your shoulder, seeing him walk closer and set himself beside you. he copies your position, making you tilt your head at him. "how'd you know i was here?"

he gives a shrug. "i am the ultimate lucky student." he jokes, watching the waves with you, "just kidding. chiaki said she saw you walking this way."

he let it quiet down between the both of you as you don't do anything to speak up either. but the few seconds are ruined when he clears his throat.

"is there something you wanted to say to me?" you question him. although you shouldn't, you feel comfortable around nagito as much as you are with the rest of the group. while the others found the guy scary or peculiar, he was always somewhat kind to you. even though his actions were very questionable, you gave him the benefit of the doubt. luckily he hadn't attacked you yet. "why are you here, nagito?"

he gives you his usual smile. somewhat softer, if you could comment. his usual one had malice behind it, but this one? genuine, maybe. you could never tell what he was actually thinking.

"here." he says, holding out a familiar box to you. you widen your eyes, lips parting in shock. "the, uh... i found those snacks you like in the store. i thought i should bring them to you, knowing how much you miss these things."

it's true, the snack you had once mentioned in passing. how had he remembered it? did... he didn't go out looking for them, right? just for you?

"i—i..." you stutter, taking the box from his hands. he smiles a bit wider, noticing the way you perked up and stared at the box. "how did you find this? i went looking in the store when we first got here and i couldn't see these!"

a smile dawns on your own lips, looking at the cute mascot on the front of the box. nagito exhales slowly, looking to the waves now. "just snooped around, y'know? i've got pretty keen eyes." he tells you, tapping the side of his head, "and i saw that you left the group activity pretty dejected earlier. what's up with that?"

your smile falters before you sigh out, "nothing... i just can't stop thinking about this island." nagito glances to you, tilting his head. you lean your head on your arms, propped up on your knees. "i feel like we're all gonna' go crazy trying to escape. and if what monokuma said is true... what's waiting for us? in the cities and countryside?"

"don't be silly." he says, waving his hand with a smile. you look to him. "you won't go crazy. in fact, you'll all grow closer together. the ultimates have too, don't they?"

you exhale through your nose, shrugging your shoulders. "i mean, i guess so. i'm thankful for ibuki and kazuichi. their personalities always light up the room." you hum out, leaning back now. nagito copied. "but when peko started talking about her surveillance results, how there's no plausible escape, i just... it just made it set in more."

he watches as you close your eyes and bury your head into your arms. you felt so hopeless here. what were you able to do now? even with your ultimate talent, how could that help? what good did that do?

"you can't think that way, y/n." nagito claims, resting a hand on your shoulder. you lift your head up enough to see him offer a generous grin. "you are all so talented. coming together and working to solve each murder is what will help you to escape this place, right? so there's only one thing to do."

his somewhat positive attitude make you lift yourself up. he's right and you know it. you just need to work hard and make sure you keep yourself and all your friends safe. even if that can't happen... as long as some people escape, it is worth it for you.

"i guess we just need to persevere." you huff.

"that's right." he says, leaning closer to your side. your shoulders bump gently. when you don't move away, he takes that as his invitation to stay. "i'll be here to make sure you don't go crazy, 'kay? you can rely on me."

"thanks, nagito." you say, smiling at him. he feels his chest tighten. you look to the ground for a second before back at him, smiling a bit more. "i'm glad you're by my side."

your words sound sweet to him, he can't believe you've said that to him. something like him... worthy of your words? he didn't know. but he can't deny that the way you stare at him makes his heart beat faster.

"you're... you're welcome." he says, voice shaky. he places a hand on his chest, trying to calm himself. "i, um, we should probably get going, huh? to—to eat?"

you chuckle, standing up and brushing the sand off of yourself, "you're right. we should get going."

nagito stands up after you, doing the same thing. once done, you lock eyes once again. you hold the box close to yourself, excited to taste them. out of pure impulse, you lean forward, brushing a kiss against his cheek. he stiffens up, hands frozen at his sides as he feels it. you were so warm, he could feel it radiating off your face as you closed in.

when pulling away, nagito notes the smile on your face.

"let's go." you hum, nodding towards the restaurant.

once you walk off, nagito hastily follows closely behind.

Thinks he’s not worthy of touching you so makes an active effort to not touch others.

Which leads to touch starvation.

Ironically, despite that sweet facade- gets jealous easily. 

He is…nearly possessive, despite keeping a distance 

So when he spots Hajime making you laugh and his keen eyes also pick up the way you arch into his touch-

He’s ashamed to say he wants to do that too. 

But not just to anyone. 

To you. 

Tries to fight it for a while before he can no longer bear keeping his distance, or you burst into tears after a particularly cruel comment he’s made. 

He can’t do this anymore. He just can’t. Luck cycle be damned. If he has to keep you attached to him at all times to make sure whatever happens to you happens to him too? 

So be it. 

Even after everything is out in the open and you trust him and encourage him constantly he still is a little apprehensive with touching and just holds your hand. 

Whether or not you’re dealing with touch starvation yourself you may if you start dating Nagito at first. 

But that all changes when he sees Fuyuhiko find out.

You’d always been unafraid of the Yakuza heir so there was a kind of rivalry filled friendship there. It was playful, and when Fuyuhiko’s face lights up with a smirk and Nagito sees the embarrassed blush on your cheeks and the way you’re getting shy, turning to mush-

Oh. 

He’s already hovering over Fuyuhiko and smiling a little too wildly as he mentions Peko being flirted with by Teruteru.

You had your suspicions but when he turned and you saw the intensity swirling in his eyes…

“Did…Are you jealous, Nagito?”

Your breath catches as he backs you up against the wall Fuyuhiko had been leaning on moments before, making your face heat. 

This was a different side to him.

You still couldn’t bring yourself to break eye contact though.

“I know someone as awful as me shouldn’t have the right to touch you but I-”

Annnnnd he was back to his old self.

Fed up with his self-deprecation and also getting a little desperate you roughly grabbed his hands and tugged them toward your sides with pleading eyes.

A small smirk tugged at his lips at the action and he lightly fluttered his fingers underneath your shirt, making you instinctively squeak at the coldness of his fingers as well as the tickling before you tried to squirm in his grip. And then he teased.

“Hm? What’s wrong baby? I thought you were all desperate for me to tickle you…why are you struggling?”

It wasn’t much…but it was a start. 

Hajime Hinata:

Observant boi!! 

Calls it out the second it happens with too much nonchalance.

When you tease him for his love of orange juice he smirks a little and
