i made one of these for my rinniki headcanons and thoughts.....!! ill explain the songs and thoughts in depth etc too under the cut ✌️

FIRST the songs:

Gloria: In Excelsis Deo by Patti Smith is sooo Rinne to me, from the

overall the themes of obsession and devotion to that one person above all else... gloria as a prayer also a little mirroring rinne refering to niki as nike as in the fortune goddess. big fan of patti smith. big fan of rinne. NEXT

Tongs by The Frights is a fun Niki POV song!! i personally like the punk-ier version "Tongues" more altho i think the beach vibe of "Tongs" suits niki better). this is song is sooo asaslkdhaskl there's a certain uncertainty to the narrator about what him and the subject are exactly, but he'd walk to the end of the world for them... narrator is also the perfect amount of a complainer.

lastly Add It Up by Violent Femmes, which to me is a song about a growing frustration and the angst of like, wanting, craving, but not getting. don't take this one too seriously though i just like 80s punk LOL but some parts rly fit the bill in my eyes...

i think rinniki if they got together would often be on the brink of breakup in the eyes of the world although they're usually actually fine between themselves, kind of like in canon when rinne in one story complained abt how niki broke up with him etc. i enjoy the idea of gossip mags reporting on them too and rinne keeping up with it; considering how he keeps an eye on in-universe social media to see what fans r saying...

hmm that's abt it... i like them....... im open to like most hcs tho. im not picky. imo they're well written characters in canon so theres a bazillion ways you can appreciate them which is cool.

honestly, i wanted to take the scene of their hospital kiss and split their faces apart so the lockets are meeting in the same place that their lips do. but graphic design and photoshop IS NOT my passion in the slightest, so this is the best i got.

some additional thoughts I had while filling this out under the cut!

Ages

Typically I don't assign Gunter a specific age. I always headcanon'd him to be around 60 during Fates, and then used age ranges to track time progression in Askr (early 60s, mid 60s, late 60s, etc.). Though I guess technically speaking, for every year that has passed since I played Fates in 2016, he'd be ~68. Also the box didn't have enough room to write Late 60s with the size font I was using, lol.

PDA

GunterLeigh's mood on PDA is best charted on a XY axis with the variables of who are they in the company of and how far along are they in their relationship. They are more likely to give each other public displays of affection the further along in their relationship they are and when they're in the presence of people they're comfortable with (like those from the Northern Fortress).

Who...

-They don't argue all that frequently, and most of their arguments hinge on things like self worth. Leigh doesn't really like arguing, and though they each may have outbursts from time to time, Leigh would rather talk about their views with an open heart.

-Gunter initially thought it was strange just how much Leigh apologizes for, but now he sees it as endearing.

-They bring up the past together, more often than not. Usually Gunter leads by referencing some past event and Leigh will prompt him to talk more about it. Leigh always leaves the door open for him and they are never offended when he doesn't want to elaborate.

Relationship Rundown

There are a few people who don't like them together, ranging from those who have valid concerns (Jakob, Niime) and those who have ill intentions in mind (Anankos, Garon).
