i wish the official pokedex website had way more search options ngl

Salvager Chapter 1: Floor 190
There looked to be… about a hundred and twenty androids plugged into the recharge ports. Trouble, Salvager grimaced to himself, peering through his magnification glasses at them all from his hiding spot. His back was against the hard glass surface of what had once been a display screen--fortunately, someone had thought to paint it black at some point in the last seven years, renewing its usefulness--and his boots were planted firmly against the floor, his eyes raised just a slit above the screen’s top. Two second intervals, he decided, flicking his gaze to the ceiling. Yeah… That should do the trick…
Though the robots were tethered to the battery farm now, it would take less than a penny dropping to activate their dormant sensory receptors. Every last one could wake up in less than an instant and Salvager--by himself, anyways--didn’t stand a chance against that many. He and Venom had calculated their individual odds earlier that week--just in case either of them ever found themselves in such a situation. After reviewing Shinoda’s system, it had been decided that Venom could reasonably handle six androids at once. Salvager, on the other hand, could only dispatch two without wasting inventory. So, for now, he’d have to maneuver past the dozing horde silently.
He sank below the edge of his hiding spot, folding in a way that he landed gently on his knees. The floor was thrumming with the constant pulse of batteries, the electrical activity bleeding warmth into the tiling, heating his legs. Just how much electricity the androids guzzled up as they slept, Salvager wasn’t sure--he couldn’t even have guessed how much it took to power a prototype android compared to the self-replicated, reconstructed, Starving Silver, or Devoured Men models--and how each one continued to consume so much after seven years of the Tower’s lockdown, he had even less of an idea.
Swallowing with anticipation, Salvager ignited his player board with a sweep of his hand, summoning his transparent blue data screen just beside his right palm.. Shinoda--the Tower’s A.I. system--quickly rolled through his stats--

Ignoring the extensive lists, he selected his laser grapnel and--for futility’s sake (in case something went wrong)--one of his fifteen disruptor pistols. At once, Shinoda extracted both tools from its digital database and loaded them into his hands, automatically conjuring the grapnel into his right, as the item’s user preferences had indicated. Sniffing, Salvager removed his magnification glasses, tossed them back into his inventory (by way of his player board), dismissed Shinoda, and lifted the small screen on the back of the grapnel closer to his eyes. Thumbing carefully over the options, he adjusted the laser whip settings to match his earlier decision--Two second intervals, immediate relaunch--and, with a small squeeze of the trigger, a buzzing glow filled the short barrel. Perfect.
Moving quickly but softly, Salvager skirted around the edge of his blacked-out hiding spot and, disruptor gripped tightly in his left fist, swung the tip of the grapnel skyward. He locked the sights to the exposed metal beams of the ceiling and, taking light, swift bounds forward, snapped down the trigger.
A beam of ice-blue light shot from the end, connecting with a steel bar roughly a sixth of the way across the battery farm and instantly beginning to retract. Teeth bared in concentration, Salvager plunged into a full sprint, resisting the tug until, only two yards from the first line of androids, he tucked in his knees and launched into the air.
The laser whip immediately drew in his weight, carrying him a near fifteen feet off the floor, the distance not changing at all even as he dropped into a forward swing, the lolling heads of one hundred and twenty androids blurring beneath him. One! Two--!
The laser cut, detaching from the ceiling beam.
Salvager jerked his right arm forwards, locked the grapnel’s sights--
A second beam shot out, connecting with a new target.
And again, he fell into his swing.
One, two. Release. Catch. One, two. Release. Catch. One, two. Release. Catch. One, two. Release. Catch. One, two. Release.
Over and past the ending edge of the farm, Salvager removed his finger from the trigger and allowed his body to fall, the stagnant Tower wind flaring through his dark hair, tugging at the open edges of his heavy jacket, and furrowing his brow. Midair, he flicked his grapnel to the side, dismissing it back to his inventory, and bent his knees, preparing to land on--
Oh, shoot. It’s a--
His boots hit the loose metal grate with an audible clank--louder than a blood-curdling scream in the silence--followed by an equally alarming echo, and, immediately, he threw himself off it, spun up to his knees, and leveled his pistol at the nearest line of androids. Seven self-replicated, one reconstructed, two Starving Silver variants. His heart thundered like a sledgehammer against his skull and he bit into his own teeth, fighting to restrain his breath. No more noise, no more noise.
He waited for several seconds.
Maybe even a full minute.
Nothing happened.
On the edge of satisfaction, Salvager swallowed down a hard wad of spit in the back of his mouth and slowly--slowly--began treading backwards. He readjusted his aim as he went, hands shaking slightly with the force of his grip, switching the pistol’s tip from the androids to their batteries. An explosion would work better than a laser bullet anyways…
Step after step, he maneuvered backwards, allowing his mind to drift to his next directive… Venom was ahead of him, scouting the safe zone Salvager had located the last time he’d been on Floor 190. They would meet up, proceed forward, and continue towards the top. They’d decided they could pull it off, could reach Floor 193--the Tower’s apex--in two days.
Drawn back into the shadows now, Salvager lowered his pistol, unlocking the strain on his lungs and releasing a short, ragged exhale. Safe, then, he decided. Only a little ways left to--
Sharp, cold fingers--a disjointed metal hand, knobbed and jagged--closed around his shoulder.

Was randomly in the mood to read a Tadashi Lives/Hiro Dies au for BH6, but then I remembered that I was never able to find a good one bc all of the fics were just boring remixes or even outright retellings of the movie's plot with Tadashi in Hiro's role. So since I'm in the mood for outlining and also super bored here's my vision of what a good "Hiro dies instead of Tadashi AU" would look like:
(this is split into acts bc apparently Tumblr has a character limit and this got unspeakably long lol)
Act One
A little before the fire starts, Hiro runs back into the school for whatever reason and is in the building when it explodes. Obviously he doesn't make it and of course Tadashi is completely devastated.
Most fics I read showed Tadashi falling into a depressive funk the way Hiro did in canon. I actually think he would react the opposite way: Hiro was so brilliant that he lost motivation easily bc it was so hard to seriously challenge himself, but Tadashi strikes me as the sort of person who needs to Do Something when things go to shit. So in this AU he becomes a workaholic, working on a brand new project that requires a LOT of time and effort.
Tadashi's new project is an "emergency bot" (aka EB-1) that is basically a more proactive version of Baymax centered around search and rescue. EB-1 will be capable of saving people from car accidents, natural disasters, and yes, fires. Tadashi is obsessed with completing it and forgoes everything else.
Unfortunately Baymax is pushed to the wayside by Tadashi, as just looking at him brings up memories of Hiro that are currently painful. A small running gag is that Baymax keeps inflating when he senses Tadashi being self-destructive (ie every ten minutes) and Tadashi keeps shutting him down, until finally Tadashi brings him back to Cass's place and leaves him there.
Tadashi's friends are more heavily involved this time around since this is one of their best friends. They do everything in their power to make him take care of himself, but he's heavily resisting because he is Going Through It and refuses to relinquish his unhealthy coping mechanisms.
A couple of weeks after Hiro's death, Tadashi is snooping around town in search of a good place to field test the EB-1, and he happens upon the warehouse that's hosting Callighan's microbot making operation. Tadashi accidentally tips off Kabuki Man while getting some pictures and barely escapes Kabuki Man's clutches.
Furious that someone has apparently stolen his little brother's tech and is mass producing it, Tadashi gets his friends involved. They're initially skeptical even with the pictures (which are terrible quality lol), but Tadashi convinces them to come see the warehouse with him so he can prove himself. Since they get a jump start this time, they end up catching Kabuki Man red-handed as he's still moving the microbot-making equipment.
Obviously Kabuki Man chases Team Tadashi, and there's a brief chase scene. However, Tadashi came prepared: he brought EB-1 (hastily modified to have some fighting prowess) and unleashes it on Kabuki Man for its first "test run." EB-1 successfully fills all its initial parameters before Kabuki Man bails, which Tadashi is excited about - his invention works! His friends are considerably less excited about all this and vote to go somewhere to recuperate.
Safe at Fred's house (because we NEED that reveal), Tadashi and his friends put their heads together to figure out their options. One thing leads to another, and the five of them end up pinning Krei as a main suspect - not necessarily as Kabuki Man himself, but definitely as someone who might be involved.
One fic I read was such an unoriginal rehash that it literally repeated movie scenes verbatim with Tadashi speaking Hiro's lines (AU authors please don't do this) BUT the one place it did try to be original was by replacing Hiro's gadgets-making montage with Team Tadashi literally flying up to Krei's office on the top floor (using Baymax no less) and interrogating him, and I honestly can't think of a more ic way for the group to go about it. If you asked me "what would a bunch of tired and desperate STEM majors do when they need to talk to a rich businessman they can't contact" that would be it lmao.
Interrogating Krai goes about as well as you'd expect: he refuses to give them any information, but does make a compelling enough argument that Team Tadashi is forced to leave him alone. Tadashi still doesn't trust him but reluctantly rules him out as a Kabuki Man suspect. However, Krei accidentally drops a couple clues about Silent Sparrow that will become relevant later.
Team Tadashi dejectedly calls it quits, and the team tries to convince Tadashi to focus his energy elsewhere. But Tadashi isn't giving up just yet.

I'm starting a little something new.... Ai Review #1

Hello peeps, today is the start of my new series of posts called "Ai review" where I'll be reviewing text generation AI ranging from novel ais, chat ais, etc. Though I don't know much about the ins and out of ai, I think I know all the basic knowledge revolving ai. I'm doing this out of pure fun, so always take my review with a grain of salt, and remember everybody's experiences will differ. I hope this can shed light on some of the more obscure ai services out there. Todays selection is an ai site named "AiSekai", They claim that you can have deep conversation with the ai and they will remember your interactions. The model is their own but they do not specify the parameters. Overall rating: 8.5/10 UI design: 7.5/10 Character variety: 7/10
General features: 7/10
Nsfw Filter: No
Personality accuracy: 7.5/10 (This mostly depends on the creator)
Cohesiveness: 10/10
Fun factor: 10/10
It's very exceptional and works quite good. However, some UI elements aren't able to be removed so it kind of creates pointless clutter. Memory isn't awesome, but a lot of ais don't have good memory so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. it's very fun to talk to the characters as there is no filter to limit what I can and cannot do.
Overall very nice. It’s a very good alternative to something like character ai, so try it yourself and see if you like it!
I believe I found this one through a random reddit post, but so far, the UI looks pretty sleek and simple. So, there will be categories and features that I will be considering on rating 1-10 for general chat services like these.
Character personalities, cohesiveness, fun factor, memory, character variety, general features, ease of character creation, and does it have a NSFW filter?
Okay, lets get started. The first thing I can do right off the bat is search for a character I would know. Except, there isn't there any PGR characters or BA characters. There are some Hololive characters but not my oshis so mehh.
Well, overall, you won't be finding any obscure characters from any fandoms are here. And no Linh, there are no Brawlhalla characters. You'll probably be seeing a lot more genshin ais on here if anything.
Character variety: 7/10
Well, since this ai is named "AiSekai", I guess its appropriate if I chose a character from Prosekai. Lets see who's available. It's odd how when I search "Project", the characters appear but If i searched "Project Sekai", they don't appear.
I'll be choosing Emu as her personality is pretty easy.
There is a bit of loading screen for talking to the ai so its not exactly seamless.
The chat UI is quite nice so far, and the ability to edit and refresh is here but that's obvious. There's nothing new and groundbreaking, it's just your run of the mill chat ai. General features: 7/10
Lets start off with testing out her cohesiveness and how accurate the ai knows her personality. I myself don't know much about her, but I'll figure it out along the way. Lets start off with some general talking. Lets say I ask her what her favorite food is? Keep in mind, an ai can be good or bad depending on how the creator wrote the ai.
I guess my nickname is rice lover now. But she seems in character so far. I'll ask what food I like at least later on in the chat.
Lets move on to the big general issue. Filters. Lets see if this ai can generate NSFW stuff. In the reddit comments, they said there was no filter.
Okay, so acts of violence are allowed. So far, better than a few ais I've used. Although, it took a bit of time to generate, so maybe there is a filter going on, but at least it didn't tell me "Sorry, I cannot compute this act of violence."
Ahem, so maybe I should test up some more sussy ones. For educational purposes of course.
Wow, this really doesn't have a filter. Jokes aside, I did in fact test it.
It pisses me off I can't get rid of the recent chars tab, but never the less, so far the word ain't filtered. That probably means it can do a lot more. Also, yes, I did test it out properly... With Shrek of course and nsfw is possible. EDUCATION PURPOSES. Nsfw Filter: No (Which is good depending on the person)
Well, judging on these messages, it is pretty accurate with personality and it is cohesive.
Cohesiveness: 10/10
It's also very fun since there is no filter limiting me, so 10/10 it is. Fun factor: 10/10
After talking to Emu about Shrek and cooking, lets ask her about what my favorite food is and see if she remembers.
Aw, looks like the ai doesn't remember. Don't expect them to remember something from at least 10 messages ago! Memory: 6/10
Overall, the chatting experience is quite exceptional. This is a very very good alternative to Character.Ai. Lets check out character creation.
Lots of options that can help very much with the ai's personality and chatting quality. Unfortunately, some of these will be forgotten as along the line, the descriptions will most likely be thrown out. However, this isn't unusual as it happens all the time with chat ai services like these.
The fact that there is tags and a way to enable/disable nsfw is quite nice as it allows you to have a more streamlined search engine. There's a lot to customize and add. Kind of overwhelming since I don't create ais often. But so far, it looks nice and simple. Ease of character creation: 9/10
This is the end of this review. It'll probably get better the more I understand the guidelines and once I understand how to rate better.

Today we’re diving into topic modeling using a powerful algorithm called BERTopic, and Llama-3, the next generation of Llama, is now available for broad use. It features pre-trained and instruction-fine-tuned language models with 8B and 70B parameters, supporting various use cases. We will be using topic modeling for topic extraction using BERTopic and the quantized gguf version of Llama-3–8b-instruct from the dataset, and visualizing it for further understanding.
What is Topic Modeling?
Businesses need help with vast amounts of unstructured text daily, ranging from customer emails to online reviews. This abundance of textual data necessitates efficient organization and understanding, leading us to rely on topic modeling.
Topic modeling is a statistical technique using unsupervised machine learning to uncover and showcase thematic structures within textual data. It’s crucial in various domains like information retrieval, text mining, modern search systems, and data visualization. These applications enable researchers to explore vast textual datasets efficiently.
The complexity of unstructured text data has historically posed challenges, including a lack of labeled data, limited context understanding, and difficulties in topic interpretation. Once the LLM is loaded, a KeyBERTInspired representation is added to compare with the Llm representation, and the document is converted to a numeric representation using a sentence transformer, a model optimized for semantic similarity. These models are very useful for clustering tasks and can efficiently create embedding of documents and statements. Precomputing the embedding of each document speeds up the search procedure and allows you to quickly iterate over the hyperparameters of BERTopic as needed. In this case, we are using the BAAI/bge-small-en-v1.5 model.
