Do/did any other public high school have youngish men in white man-blouses and black ties that stood just feet away from the high school lawn in order to comply with freedom of religion laws who passed out little orange New Testaments + Psalms to students as we left school or is that just an Indiana thing

#Indiana #public school #christianity #Bible #i never took one and neither did my friends but I'd bet it all on the probability of it being the KJV new testaments #by high school my infatuation with being a fundie Baptist was over #so i did what my older brother would do when he had to walk past them back when he was in high school #'HAIL SATAN! 🤘'#legit i can't remember seeing anyone take the orange Bibles and even public school was fairly devout-filled #which makes sense bc why would you take half a bible if you already have a complete one at home #preaching to the choir #almost literally #the same logic my Baptist church had about sending missionaries to the Philippines i suppose #sure you're Christian but you aren't the WHITE i mean RIGHT kind of Christian #Anyway if this happens to other schools I've never seen or heard it talked about #tagging hometown because I'm petty #richmond Indiana #this wasn't an every day occurrence for the record just at least twice every term i think #my fam loves a good thrift sale so even on days i missed school you could tell when the Bible people had been their that week #because the goodwill bookshelf would be filled with little orange bibles #what a waste of paper and pleather microplastics #don't ask me why the Bibles were orange i know not why #freedom from religion #separation of church and state
