as far as I'm concerned Teen Dramas (tm) that are obsessed with the characters getting laid are shit but not for 'tHeY'rE cOrRuPtInG oUr ChIldReN!' reasons, just that obsessing over that is a rubbish and inaccurate premise for a story. most teens aren't seriously trying to get sex or drugs they're trying to get video games and movies rated 18

#personal crap #the only one i can think of that gets it right is superbad bc that gets that this whole thing is stupid #by contrast imho stuff like skins sex education or euphoria suck bc they have this ludicrous idea of what teenage life is like #teens don't spend all their time shagging and doing drugs most of em never do that they just swear at each other on cod #or start discourse on tiktok. gimme my 'teen drama' (well probably comedy) about that #sidenote but people acting like skins and sex education are untouchable classics of tv is mental to me #they're not realistic they're not funny they're not even interesting #you have some really good actors in them but the material is just 'I WANNA HAVE DIRTY FILTHY SEXY DIRTY FILTHY SEX' for series after series #oh and let's not even get into how creepy it is that they do this with 16 year olds like it's nothing
