my brilliant plan.... Edit: Foiled
I feel the need to play lostword to get some homepage screenshots. Homepage dialog screenshots are surprisingly popular. Some of that dialog actually sounds fun enough to be screenshot worthy content. And yet I absolutely wouldn't have the patience to play or pay for rolls so....
Since I've never played, I can just start, getting that free easy starting money gacha give out to get you addicted, roll, uninstall, reinstall, repeat.
(I'm pretty sure Japan has a name for this trick that a yugioh adventure card got named after.)
Then boom, homepage screenshots, I'll just need to painfully repeatedly play the demo each time. Probably binge watch a series while doing it.
However....
I guess I'll actually need to wait for her to be on offer before I can even attempt this. I assumed she'd be in normal rotation
Edit:
My plan is seemingly foiled and impossible to try for Sannyo highly specifically.
Unless they do a "special limited time easy get offer" of some sort. She's trapped in here with these 4. In high difficulty earn ticket purgatory
Though the nature of gacha still makes me believe she'll be in some sort of limited time easy get rotation some day... eventually.
Like....some time in the next couple years maybe. Idk.
Gacha want money and she'll definitely show up in something that uses those crystals some day if they bother to advertise her and give her an outfit. They want you to buy the outfit so more people need the character after all.

i wanna peck pre-dungeon mithrun so bad even if i would probably like have a high chance of envying him at the same time have some unexplainable hatred due to him being a lil pretty asshole. (im taller than him btw !!)
still.
i want to peck him all over the face and run my hand over his hair, i'd love to do that with post-dungeon mithrun as well.
I think he’d accept the kisses at first to be polite but eventually start fighting like an overstimulated cat lol
I, personally, would like to meet him at a dance party and then do the thing where u pretend to pull someone closer, and because he doesn’t want to outwardly seem like a jerk, he’ll be beckoned by my call. Like a polite sailor to the sirens. We’ll start talking and he’ll take pity on me and go on a date with me. Then another one. Then another. Before he knows it, we’re engaged. BAM! The wedding is huge and Star Trek themed. He’s never watched an episode of Star Trek in his life. Doesn’t matter. We immediately reproduce. BAM, spawn. Mithrun turns to drinking to cope. But guess what buddy boy? ANOTHER SPAWN. Then another. He’s a father of three now and he’s got a beer belly. We stay together for the kids sake, until he reaches elf middle age and finally files for divorce. We get in a horrible court battle over who gets to keep our miniature clown statue collection. I do, of course. Mithrun buys a sports car but it doesn’t fill the hole in his heart. He gets a dog and starts referring to it as his child. He never calls his real children. One day, in his empty apartment, he chokes on a jellybean. Cherry flavored. I find him just in time(I’m there to drop off a box of his collection of yugioh cards) and I save him. Our love rekindles. We get married again. The wedding is Star Wars themed.

played through most of yugioh world championship 2010's story mode a couple years ago, struggling through with a dragon deck and a lot of save states, until I accidentally fucked up with them and deleted a bunch of my progress right before the final battle, causing my motivation to drop to zero
anyway. picked it back up a couple days ago on my actual 3ds and huh. I am. genuinely astonishingly better at this game now. got a largely warrior deck that's good at punishing defending monsters (which the AI doesn't understand how to correct for lol) and I just keep winning with it? like my only losses have been one with a structure deck I didn't get on with, and a bunch of dud tries against those single player tag team motherfuckers in the third turf war. srsly I fucking hate those guys so much, they're such a pain in the gd arse and harpies are so fucking hard to fight when you only have access to shit cards and can't leave to get more and I swear to fuck I had actually given up and activated the cheat to insta-win and it was the FIRST EXACT GAME I had that as a working option that I got an absolute perfect storm of cards to snatch the easiest fucking win so I didn't even need it and aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgh
anyway I then wound up 3600LP:~11000LP against sayer thanks to obnoxious celtic guardian vs two magical androids. and somehow pulled it around to win within like 3 turns by summoning catastor and just quietly deleting everything. catastor is wonderful and I am saddened that once the dark signer fights get underway, it will become much less useful.
but yeah I am honestly surprised at how much easier I'm finding things now, considering the only time I've come close to *playing* yugioh lately has been choreographing fights for phantom limb, which has been 90% staring at crystron monsters and their itty bitty text detailing their excitingly modern ygo effects. but I guess the many hours spent watching yugitubers have actually seeped into my brain and improved my skills. as well as teach me how op fairy box can be. thank you fairy box for buying me large amounts of time while I wait for the materials to summon catastor.

*stokes the fire* Aporia
thinking about that tweet that's like "i like your funny reply friend! you'll be buried in my pyramid with me when i die"--that's how i feel with you delightful anons who give me excuses to Go Bananas About Aporia. said with so much love in my heart. thank you <3
favorite thing about them: GOD. THERE REALLY IS SO MUCH. Of course I love his design, it's absolutely bonkers in the best way--if you told me two years ago there was a nine foot tall monster robot yugioh character with angel symbolism out the ass i would have been like EXCUSE ME. HELLO. *RUNNING OVER* but also!! his arc is just fucking GOOD. he's just this sad and complex and angry and miserable old old old man in a robot werelion body who's actually three people who are actually just one person. peak yugioh villain nonsense i absolutely adore it. and i LOVE when villains have the face turn and fight back against the Big Bad as much as they can. it goes hard!!! (but also, specific small thing thats one of my favorite things about him--it's like, very implied despite being Gigantic he's fairly dexterous and gentle with how he handles things?? Always grabbing his tiny cards very delicately and doings little tricks with them and in tag force 6 (Citizen Kane for Insane Aporia Girlies) he actively tells you the protagonist that he doesnt make mistakes with how much force to use with things (being a machine and all.) idk it's just very cute to me. it's a sweet detail.)
least favorite thing about them: pained smile. big man proper's literally only in.....about 9-10 episodes total??? <:) crying. wailing. my kingdom for a SLIVER of more screentime. it's also a shame like. 2/3s of his episodes never got dubbed, I would have absolutely adored to see what the dubbed version would have looked like!! (especially since those eps include like. my Favorite 5ds duels. it'd be like having two whole cakes babey!!!!)
favorite line: ok im restraining myself from picking something from Tag Force because all of his dialogue in TF6 makes me sick in the head and i love it but I WILL PICK. SOMETHING FROM THE ANIME. LIKE A NORMAL PERSON. god. it's gotta be these.
also "I was imprisoned by my feelings, so you can have my feelings" which he says immediately before this, also to Z-ONE. A.) theyre just raw as hell, B.) ooohhhh my god ohhhh my fucking godddddd he loved him so fucking muuuuuch buy my fucking SILENCE
brOTP: when people draw him being friends with leo and/or luna i get soooooo soft ;_____; my kingdom for an AU where aporia got to live and could interact with them for once not under the pretenses of needing to Kill Team 5Ds. WAUUGH. also i guess brotp adjacent but him interacting with his embodiments is so fucking funny and it's apparently just me and the tag force devs who see and know the truth on that.
OTP: ooouugh...oughhhhh you Know im talking bout those old old men!!!!! i am #1 absolute adorer of the Iliaster Four Stars Peepaw Polycule (Aporia/Z-one/Paradox/Antinomy) we know this we know this. but special mention to my most favorite combo of that of all, my beloved Z-ONE/Aporia. see above. it doesnt even have a damn ship name 🤪they just!!!! make me absolutely fucking insane. theyre married theyre divorced theyre god and his most devoted archangel theyre old friends theyre a Fleetwood Mac album and theyre EVERYTHING TO ME!!!!!!! the second i get over worrying about being annoying i will Not shut up about them even more!!!!!
nOTP: i think if you ship with rua/leo you should go to jail and then directly to hell immediately after <3
random headcanon: Aporia Aporiaaaa my beloved bisexual italian/cuban autistic nonbinary dadgirl. i think in another life where he wasnt Extremely Fucked Up and Died Like Five Times he could have been good with kids. also. i think in the implied fixed future where the Four Stars get to live normally he would be a furry. him and eurea both. furcon couple
unpopular opinion: he's a GOOD CHARACTER!!!! HE AND THE EPISODES HE'S IN HAVE MERIT!!!!!! NOBODY BUT LIKE MAYBE 12 PEOPLE GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THIS GUY BUT HE ROCKS AND I THINK MORE PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HIM!!!!!!! drawing my big sword (draw tablet) I Will Make Them Know About Him. >:)c
song i associate with them: i, dana "the mountain goats lover" ninetales of course. keep finding tmg songs to associate with characters. And Genesis 30:3 is one of my favorite songs for Aporia, especially re: his dynamic with Z-ONE. "I will do what you ask me to do/Because of how I feel about you." IS SO!!! MUFFLED WAILING.
favorite picture of them: oh man. *slams my giant briefcase of aporia screenshots down on the table* ok. ok let's see. just ONE favorite? alright. ok. i got this. hm. this one i think
A.) aaauuughh i love his 'broken' form i need to draw it sometimes....the Moment energy lines...... B.) TINY TINY FUCKING CARDS!!!!, C.) this is from the exact moment where something in my brain clicked and was like "oh. oh this guy is in my head now for real. maybe i do fuck with his design" and. well. things snowballed <3
#IM SO FUCKING SORRY I HAD. A LOT TO SAY <3 YOU KNOW HOW IT IS#ygo posting#asks#anonymous#wooouughhh waauughhh i love him so fucking much. i could talk about him for another 40438543 posts#aporia my beautiful massive babygirl. my monster truck. my miserable industrial sized freezer#iliasterliker9000

So you see the board? Imagine each of those white lines are cut up into small squares that are just glued together to make a line. And each square is a rune. These are the places that cards land on. They cannot be moved or changed. The board is permanent. (Unless you get a whole new board with different rune placements.) Essentially, when a card (or portal) moves, they have to go in a straight line. Like a rook on a chess board. But each rune are the individual squares on those chess boards so while the card/rook can go straight from one corner to the other, they don’t have to go to each corner (a ‘corner’ for this game is where the white lines intersect. Essentially when the card has to stop and ‘turn’’ of course, if the line still goes straight past a corner then they can keep going as far as that line goes. Circles are considered one line). The cards can stop on any of the ‘squares’. Every ‘square’ has a rune. So it is physically impossible for a card to not to be on a rune. Whether the card is in the middle of a line or at a corner. Think of it as if there was a rune on every square on a chess board and wherever you stop to let your chess piece rest activates that rune and you gain an effect. That’s what makes them so difficult because you need to remember what all the runes do. Moreover, you can do combinations. For example, if you have a speed rune and a buff rune on the same line, you can use one movement to hit the speed rune (to give you two extra movements), go back for the buff rune (using one extra movement) then come back forward to the end of the line using the second movement and now you are in the line of sight of another player and can attack. Sorry about the wording. I can see how that might be confusing. It’s hard to describe without visuals.
Also, trust me, there are a lot more rules but I’m trying to give the basics. If I did an overview like this for Yugioh I would essentially be saying that you draw 5 cards, summon monsters. Sacrifice monsters to summon stronger monsters and use them to try to defeat your opponent by either attacking their monsters or the player themselves. Each player has a total life value and once that reaches zero, you win. You can also use trap card or spell cards to increase your chances. Trap cards can be played face down so your opponent has to guess whether it’s worth activating them or not as they can cause buffs or debuffs. Spell cards can be activated by the hand to affect the monsters on your field. And this explanation? While technically true does not nearly explain Yugioh properly. It does not count for cards like monster reborn which can revive creatures or pottery of greed. Or even Toon Town. What makes Yugioh so great is the combinations you use with the cards And how these cards bounce off each other. Just like chess has such simple rules where each piece can only move a certain way on the board and you have to take out the king to win. Yet chess games can last four hours depending on how you play. That’s what this game is designed to do. It WANTS to be dragged out as long as possible. Because Danny has designed it to buy time. He’s essentially unbeatable but in the off chance he does lose, he wants to give as much time for earth to prepare for an invasion as possible. (Also, every invader has to play so if an army invaded, every single soldier would have to beat Danny to enter. The leader can’t just beat him to gain access for his followers. And every invader has to wait for a previous game to stop. Then Danny gets a 3 day rest period where no challenges can happen between each game.)
If there are any ideas you have to improve the game or make it more chaotic though I would LOVE to hear it! I love the idea of goon cards. I think I was just intending for Pariah to be a really strong ghost with lost of health though. If I do make a requirement to defeat him then it would include ancients and halfas since Danny and Vlad played a role in his defeat. I don’t think a rune scrambling card can work since the runes are permanent. But what about a card that can change some runes to have an opposite effect? So like the victory rune, everyone loses when you are on it. Gaining Will runes instead decrease Will, debuffs become buffs. Or runes that pull something in instead scatter it away? Thinks like that? There could be a whole new book on what the runes effects are when the opposite card comes into play. I’m not sure I understand the multiple stats though. Could you explain that a bit more?
As for how opponents gets the rules, I was thinking that the barrier is designed for hostile entities (so like astronauts or green lanterns won’t trigger it but Trigon or the Reach would.) When it’s triggered, Danny gets an alert. (So it doubles as a warning when a hostile being enters). Danny can either challenge someone or wait to be challenged. Once a challenge is initiated, Danny gives the invader a rule book along with a book detailing every card in the game. After that, the challenger may begin the game whenever they wish after reciting a phrase in the 4 languages used for this game to show that they know the required languages. (Technically if they ask then Danny is required to give them a book on how to learn the languages but he doesn’t have to tell them about that part. He’s fully willing to let them struggle to learn the languages on their own. The rule book just includes the starting phrase and that these languages will be used in the game.) technically speaking, the invader can just skip the rule book and go right to saying the phrase (it’s on the first page) but that’s not really wise. The phrase that begins the game? Is a binding oath. It’s basically like one of those contracts that says ‘yes I have read all the rules and agree to follow them’ and it binds both Danny and the challenger in a soul contract that basically acts like a referee for the duration of the game. It prevents cheating from either side. After the phrase is spoken (and Danny returns it, sealing the contract) then Danny creates the board and provides every card and gives the opponent as much time as they need to build their deck. Once it is done and they have their deck ready, the game immediately begins.
DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game
Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter.
Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.
The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge.
And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).
And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game.
Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.
(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).
After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely).
Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.
#dpxdc#dcxdp#Danny creates a card game to save the world.#Invaders have to ‘beat’ him to get to Earth.

6/25/2023 - I Set My Face To The Hillside
It's been about a month since I last saw you, and less than two months until I get to see you again. I've come to terms with the fact that I will probably tell you that every week I spend here is uneventful, even if things did happen and you'd tell that it really was eventful once I describe them to you. On Tuesday I achieved a triumph of the hordes victory with Shelob, and then ordered some more cards for it and a few other decks on hareruya. Of course I had to upgrade the land base on Kaza since that was something you always complained about. You don't have to worry though, I didn't get a scalding tarn or anything like that for it. On Wednesday, I made more bread.
It doesn't look that great, since I didn't let it proof for very long at the end, but it tasted good and had the right texture coming out of the oven. It was kind of an exercise in seeing just how lazy I could be with the methodology and still turn out a good end product. And I can say that this set of loaves, with less time proofing and less gluten development, was just as good as the ones I made previously. I thought about what you said when we talked last, about how you learning baking would be complementary to me doing everything else. Before that, I had a vague impulse to bake more out of a sense of inadequacy, like it was a flaw that I didn't have much experience baking things. But when you put it the way you did, it made me happy, because I think there should be things I can rely on you for and ways you can show your appreciation for me that I can't necessarily do. And it was cute to think about us making a bunch of things for an occasion like thanksgiving. When you talk about the future that way, it makes it that much easier to feel it in my hands. So I'm okay just knowing how to bake bread. It's a lot easier than I thought it would be.
On Thursday, we only got to play two games since the first one took so long. They were uneventful, and I did not play shelob since I mistakenly forgot to bring her. Thankfully, the real version of her is in the hareruya order that's coming soon. I didn't go anywhere on Friday. In the land online, ever since we stopped playing elden ring, we just started watching yugioh. It's a long show so we'll probably be occupied for a while. I think tomorrow we are going to start watching all of the extended lord of the rings movies. Today, I went to wegmanns to buy a few things (read: $58 worth of items). I got the bresaola that I wanted to get before but was too cowardly to buy. It tastes pretty good, but I don't know if I'd buy it again soon. I saw a new type of better than bouillon I had never known about, which was just chipotle base. I didn't buy it because I don't know what I would use it for. I guess some sort of chipotle soup. Maybe I'll get it next time. I got the mango sorbet popsicles since I don't think we tried that when you were here. I haven't eaten them yet. I think the most interesting thing I do regularly is go the store and buy things, and look at stuff I've never seen before. It's kind of mundane, but at least it's interesting even without you. I do feel like when I'm at the store with other people, I have to make sure I don't waste their time. I know you wouldn't care that much if I wandered around a lot, but getting back from the store sooner meant that I could spend more time holding you.
The emptiness you left behind is very different from the one that I was living in before you came along. Now it's expectant, waiting for something that it knows will be there, whereas before, it was strange and hopeless, unknowing of what could ever fill it. I walked around in that emptiness a lot, asking questions of myself and the world, not always productive or positive. Finding the answers to those questions is how I arrived here, coming to be who I am today. I am as self-sacrificial, generous, and devoted as I am because those are all things I decided I had to be. I love you in all the ways I do because those are the ways I know best. Being here without you encourages a different kind of reflection. I know that this is basically like what it was before, but...the context is radically different. The self-reflection I did before often felt...abstracted, like the full breadth of what I believed I was capable of doing for others would never actually be put to use at any point. Now, it feels like all those questions are settled science. The new questions are about what I am capable of doing for myself, and how that affects others. This isn't the beginning of that line of thought for me, but it certainly is an inflection point for it. It was easy to think of myself as purely instrumental, a vessel by which others wishes could be fulfilled and the good of humanity could be increased. I am still driven by an impulse to help others, and to devote myself to the people I love, but in a less self-destructive manner than before. I know that I have to take care of myself and become better in ways that I didn't even consider previously, and part of that came from being with you. It's easy to try to do those things when you're here, seeing everything that I do. But when you' can't see me...that's the real test. 're not here...that's the real test. I hope that by the time you come back, I will have grown in certain ways that I can't even conceive of right now. And once you're here, we'll continue to grow together through the life we share. That's what I'm most excited about.
I have to go to albany on tuesday night. It's going to be very annoying. But it will be okay if I get to talk to you. It always is. I love you.

5/2/23, late morning
Been a minute.
I've mostly just been too occupied to really post here- not all bad stuff, some good stuff. Between work and play, I've been too tired to type most evenings, so I'm just taking a little time out of my morning while I sip some coffee to journal a bit.
I've been working really hard to try to catch up on commission stuff. A couple months ago I had like, a two-week long burnout where I BARELY worked at all- and if I did it was like, the absolute bare minimum, at a snail's pace. Since then I've been paying for it- I end up working on the PREVIOUS month's commissions during the time I need to be taking NEW work for the NEXT month's rent, plus Patreon Mini Commissions (I still need to do those for April in fact), and it kinda just keeps snowballing. I AM further along with commissions this time around than last month though, so I AM starting to actually catch up with my workload. It helps that my clients have been very patient with me, I'm so thankful for that. I'm glad they can be so confident that I WILL get their art done given the time to do so, and that they're willing to wait. I guess that's just the fruits of my hard work to ensure that's the truth of things. I ALWAYS finish the piece. I had one slip on that like two years ago and I made a personal vow never to let it happen again. Trello helps with that.
Besides work, I'm trying to still make time for play.
I DID make enough to buy the Digimon cards I wanted- about $45 bucks worth, so that's really cool. Digimon is nice, specifically because it's one of the cheaper TCGs I can play. I've mostly abandoned Yugioh because of the price tag. Initially I started playing Gallantmon because of the structure deck when I was first getting into the game, and since then I've stuck with it and haven't bothered to build anything else. Being a lower-tier/rogue deck, it's on the cheaper side even by Digimon standards as long as I don't invest in alternate art cards. In addition to that, being a popular, main character digimon, Gallantmon will likely, consistently, receive more support throughout the game's lifespan, so I should consistently have opportunities to expand and evolve the deck as long as the game goes on. Even if it's mid now, statistically, it'll likely get enough support to become genuinely strong later. Plus, Guilmon is just an absolute cutie.
That aside, a good friend of mine gave me the money to just straight up buy Resident Evil 4 Remake. He was enjoying it so much, knew I wanted it, and knew I wouldn't be able to afford it myself for quite some time, that he basically just bought it for me, so I've been playing that most evenings after work. It's /really/ good, and really I couldn't imagine a better game to invest in. RE4 has always had really good replay value, and the same can be said for REm4ke. I plan to play the game over and over for a while.
I've also been trying to learn chess on the side. I've always been interested in chess and enjoyed playing, but I'm quite bad and never really put time or effort into studying openings or anything. At this point in my life, with so much going on, I'm not sure I have the time to dedicate to it AND my other hobbies.
My roommate's birthday is coming up. I'd love to buy them something, but that might be out of the question, so I'm thinking of doing some art, getting it printed and framed, and gifting them that. I've got an idea for a three-piece suite I'd like to do maybe that could display well on a wall or atop a shelf- SFW, of course.
Uhh I think that's it for now, I'm not sure what else to say. I don't really have anything else going on, I'm just working and playing games. That never really changes lol.
TTYL.

Hey, guess what I learned yesterday? Apparently this card specifically used to cost well over $1000 AND people would buy it to make competition decks. Decks that would have 0% chance of winning without her. I can't even IMAGINE spending $1000 dollars on one single Yugioh card holy shit
Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn
Still holding on? Because WOW YOU WERE RIGHT. Talk about a major upgrade like. She was so close to being flawless before but now? 100% beautiful. Her hair looks much better now that its longer, AND her owl doesn’t have a dead stare and instead gets a wonderfully dynamic pose PLUS a cooler hat. She may not have baby wings anymore but its not a loss, as they’re now full grown beauties. The staff, hood, and cape (along with the other parts of her outfit that have been upgraded) only help reinforce the idea that Minerva here is older, more confident and experienced than before.
Rating: 10/10, from cute baby wings to gorgeous goddess
#Extra post for my birthday :)#Also because I wanted to share this absolutely batshit fucking insane fact I learned yesterday#If you are spending over like $15 for a SINGLE card........ Idk what to even say#Why are you doing that

How do I be as cool as you are?
Here's the step by step process of how I got to where I am today:
1: be 7 with adhd and obsess over anime like sailor moon and cyborg 009 and also superhero cartoons like static shock and learn to draw to fuel the obsession also start writing fanatic and give yourself REALLY COOL BADASS POWERS and draw yourself in love with many characters and question why you're obsessed with certain masculine ladies in sailor moon but chalk it down to art style and not the impending bi-ness you'll have later in life and maybe like Sprinkle in obsession with dragons or foxes or maybe horses
2: learn to draw by copying yugioh cards in the car (bumpy road is essential for building up line control) until the shading becomes intuitive.
3: become 14 and remember your obsession with ~digimon~ so that you will once more obsess over so much and just HYPERFOCUS and crush on every anime boy (and some qnime furries) as much as possible.
4: buy goggles and wear them on your head literally everywhere you go and don't give a damn what anyone thinks, its cool shush
5: grow out of the goggles but never be ashamed about it cause it was awesome
6: uh grow up and go to college I guess?
7: vibe
8: just vibe though like seriously just vibe.
9: somehow along the way you managed to learn how to draw and you're pretty good and now you make friends online by shoving artwork at them lol
So uh that was my 9 step process, thank you for coming to my TED Talk I need medication for adhd 🙃

LADIES I am proud to report I had ANOTHER GOOD DAY!!!!!!!!!!
I got my insurance payout, thennn I went to the mall with Hunter, and there was a card game shop in the mall!! I’d never been to one before bc my mother Didn’t Like Them so I was just Not Allowed. and we went in and they had ANIME MERCH so guess who bought TWO FIGURES
they had the Bring Arts Neku!! and the Axel Nendoroid!! so I bought them both dfghgfd
we both pitched in to buy one of the full boxes of duel monsters cards, and they also had an area in the back with tables set up for tournaments and stuff, so we sat there playin yugioh for awhile,,, that was really fun, we both had Cyber Dragon decks and those are my favorite cards.
it was kinda nerve-wracking bc I’m so used to keeping to myself, y’know? but all the guys at the shop were friendly, and they kept stopping to watch us play our games or comment on the packs we’d opened, and my brain was like whaaat, but it was fun ghjkjhgfd lmao
and then we went to Hot Topic!! that’s another one I wasn’t allowed in as a kid, but I’ve been a couple times when my parents aren’t around. I got a water bottle with SASUKE UCHIHA on it and I’m gonna keep it at work with the anime boys fghjhgfd
my manager’s gonna regret giving me a free pass to decorate lmaooo

great question @bionisinterior !!
i'll answer your question by first quickly going through video games with UI i thought of when writing this post.
the modern video games i had in mind when thinking about bad UI were project zomboid, terraria, Temtem and ff14. however, i do recognize that they are all online multiplayer games, which means you can't pause the game to search through the menus, hence why the menu windows are everywhere and every relevant information is visible at all times. mutliplayer games need that... it might be a problem with the genre of games altogether, and i recognize that they are challenging to make UIs for.
however, that's not relevant to this answer! i don't think i can find online multiplayer games with PERFECT UI because uhhh even Genshin Impact, while it does improve greatly on those problems, still faces similar issues to some extent. (disorienting menus and whatnot. they do improve that tho i gotta admit) for the genre itself, i feel like it might be impossible to do good UI design altogether.
but UI interfaces i absolutely love in video games are obviously BOTW and TOTK, which concentrate their info on two corners, and every menus take up the entire screen unless you buy stuff or quickly go through weapons and items in battle. it's simple, compact, and easy to navigate through and i enjoy those games for that. likewise, the quests can be very easily put aside and only become relevant when i toggle them on in the quest menu.
in that same vein, i do kinda like Skyrim's UI for the same reasons, Fallout 4 as well...
Yugioh Master Duels, for being based on yugioh and its convoluted gameplay, also makes its UI very easy to navigate in simple clicks and show relevant information when it becomes relevant to do so... like when a card effect activates, a corner of the screen shows a tiny text box with the effect highlighted, and the game history lets you revisit previous plays.
i guess Pokemon games tend to have good UI as well... GTA games as well too? and slime rancher, while i haven't played the game, also has good UI.
things in UI design that i've come to dislike:
- cluttering the screen with information that could have been put in a separate menu. i don't want to be perpetually reminded that i need to Speak with The Lab Owner and Gather 7 remaining Apples. i want to be able to put these sidequests in the back of my mind and forget about them so i don't get carried away by virulent amounts of stress about completion, or letting my screen get cluttered by even more tasks and quests i failed to accomplish
- disorganized inventory that i have to organize myself. i do not like clutter, as one may know, and i don't want to spend several hours neatly organizing my own inventory so i can figure out where such and such things are located. let me organize them at the click of a button, or let me search for them based on categories.
- having everything (health, info, abilities, etc) in all 4 corners of the screen, then having those corners grow more and more with cluttered info. either this game is top heavy, or bottom heavy, but not all at the same time, please. if i can only see the center of my screen, you've practically rendered me and my character blind to the rest of the actual game.
- windows. if i have to manage windows upon windows upon windows... IN MY GAME? i want my menu to take up the entire screen if it must, but dont... dont give me windows.
- i want you to imagine BOTW or TOTK with the UI management of an MMORPG and tell me how atrocious it'd look.
- tell me to spend 1 more minute staring at FF14's user interface and i'll tell you to fuck off

I started rambling about my experience with kh and then it turned into khux and then it just turned into me rambling about Ryou and my art journey????? enjoy I guess,
it’s very long but there’s art in there :)
It’s funny to think about my kh journey as a whole tbh, I grew up watching my mom play video games, which included kh1 and 2. I wasn’t allowed to play the playstation2 we owned BUT I did have a gameboy so the first game I played was CoM (after my mom finished it ofc,) so I guess you could say I’ve always been passionate about kh “””side games””” lmao but I did fall off of kh very quickly bc again, I wasn’t allowed to play our PS2 and also I Am A Terrible Gamer I’ve Never Finished CoM I’m sorry you all had to find out like this, but then 358/2 came out when I was in middle school and!!! I didn’t care and I didn’t play idk why lol
Anyway, fast forward to high school I’m like 15 and my older sister, who HAS been keeping up with kh, has a wallpaper on her phone of roxas and ventus. And bc I haven’t kept up I say “nice roxas wallpaper” and she says “thanks but it’s roxas and ventus” and I proceeded to get so mad that I was determined to prove to her that her wallpaper was just roxas twice and then I fell down the BBS rabbit hole and suddenly I was reading about vanitas and then I’m reading the fan translations of the BBS novel and I’m crying??? I am sobbing???? and that’s how I actually got into kh for real lol we are vanitas stans before we are people,
It’s so funny how I thought I was some kh super fan, knowing all this stuff that I spent so long reading and rewatching cutscene movies, but I never once, SOMEHOW NEVER ever came across khx. It’s so absurd and bizarre I seriously have no idea how I never once encountered khx prior to khux. I suppose that has to do with the fact I wasn’t involved in the fandom? In early high school I had stepped away from fandoms as a whole and I didn’t have any interest in really posting content or interacting with fans anymore bc of how burnt out I was from a previous fandom,
but khux released! and I was so hype and excited for it! on launch day I was a senior in high school, I had ran around to every “nerd” and weeb I could find in school to ask them to join my party and fun fact about me is I have crippling social anxiety I literally refuse to start conversations irl so holy shit I was OUT HERE doing the MOST
My player just originally had my name (Matt) but everyone in my party had fun names so Ryou was born! High school was one big yugioh phase for me and ryou bakura is one of my favorite characters ever so it was just the logical name choice lol I quickly started creating Ryou, the character, as well. I was also leaving my homestuck phase and that + vanitas obsession made This character design (art circa 2016)
If y’all are familiar with my kh oc’s you might notice that keyblade now belongs to my kid Monty LOL
Anyway that got scrapped quickly for the chip and dale outfit (which is where Ryou’s trademark goggles are from <3) Goggles have been a staple of my character designs for a LONG TIME so like, it had to be done, (that’s a separate ramble about a separate oc tho)
OG Ryou was an interesting guy; he was a young party leader with this overwhelming responsibility on his shoulders bc of his status as a party leader. In his original story, he also struggled heavily with darkness, much like Terra but for Ryou it was more that the darkness was controlling him and not like a source of power like it was for Terra
A big part of early Ryou I kept, however, was the crushing awareness of loss. One of my party members (the strongest one at the time,) had left without saying a word and I was very confused and hurt. This was around the time the ephemera plot was happening so I decided to incorporate it into Ryou’s story; having him experience losing a friend to darkness since it’s so normal for wielders in Daybreak Town to just disappear, and this would unintentionally become a theme for both me and Ryou as khux friends would just randomly disappear.
I was desperate for khux at this point and I decided to watch the fan translations for khx and GOD, god, was I obsessed. I couldn’t stop thinking about the foretellers. And I’m not going off about that here bc I already did that, but I actually started entering fandom again! I did it slowly, I started on tumblr before this blog was made altho it was me sending anons to the few khux related blogs I could have lol a friend convinced me to get twitter where I got involved with the ffxv fandom, which led me to the kh fandom and eventually the khux fandom there which is what REALLY got me going on khux.
I joined discord servers, most of the servers I’m in are khux related, and from there I joined the khux oc rp (shout out to anyone there who might be reading this lol here’s some art from the beginning of the rp,)
It’s SO FUNNY how the RP influenced me so heavily. I hadn’t RP’d in YEARS, I used to have a strict no oc rp policy, but here I was? And the funny part is, I had barely developed Ryou. I had scrapped his original story and all I had was POST WAR Ryou so I literally had to reverse write him; I had only ever written him as a depressed, guilt ridden adult, but it was a fucking blast and I have such fond memories of this rp when it was active,
But anyway, this encouraged me to get more serious about art! I started drawing, writing, cosplaying, and roleplaying when I hadn’t done any of that stuff in a very long time. The first time I ever drew a background was for a deviant art khux competition actually LOL
also! I always think extremely fondly of the drawing I did of Aced in the keyblade war. It was also one of the first backgrounds I ever drew and it felt like my real starting point in the khux fandom. It got a ton of notes on here and someone wrote a tiny fic in a reblog which just made me SO HAPPY like it really felt like people were noticing me :) I was going to draw a matching Ira but!! I just never did!! One day tho, it’s on my art bucket list to redraw this along with Ira,
Aside from my personal growth, khux was great for my social life ngl, I made SO MANY friends online and got to meet a ton of people irl over the years! It’s crazy to think about all the people I now know and talk to? It honestly makes me really emotional. I’ll never forget taking the train into NYC and meeting up with discord friends. Going to conventions and talking with people about the latest khux update? Absolutely insane and those were some GOOD TIMES, if I thanked every khux friend or even just person who made an impact on me then we’d be here for a LONG TIME,
Fun fact, for my Lauriam cosplay all I needed to buy was the wig I just owned his outfit LOL also? Probably retiring that cosplay ngl people treated me like absolute garbage when I wore him and it led to a lot of confidence issues for awhile ngl. That’s probably one of the only memorable negative experiences I have with khux; it was great when khux people recognized me but for kh fans that weren’t in khux? They were FUCKING MEAN??? fuck kh fandom at large, I only care about khux fandom,
This leads me to another huge part of my experience in khux fandom: THEORIES!! I used to write SO MANY and oh my god my brain was so full all the time. It was a huge appeal for me in the fandom; I had been previously writing theory posts in the RWBY fandom and it just migrated over to khux for me lol I had done a ton of theorizing around Lauriam tbh, it was really the only reason I liked his character at all bc initially I did not care about the dandelions, anyone who wasn’t Skuld I was like “please leave Now thanks”
A funny part of khux fandom I never intended to be apart of is the MEMES, I really only started doing memes as stress relief bc college had me so busy all I had time/energy for was these quick little shit post drawings.
The first meme I made, file name “invi despair” LOL we need to get her a girlfriend smh anyway, I think in my senior year of college I did a bunch of rapid fire memes all in one month bc the stress of finals was getting so bad afdgfhdgf as far as I know my impact on this fandom will be my memes bc all I do now is enter a kh/khux server and introduce myself and I go “yeah I draw art. here’s a meme” and everyone goes OH YOU, honestly I am nothing if not a clown
I’ve talked so much idk where I’m going with this. Khux is just a good game even if the gameplay actually kind of really sucks yknow lol but it was the first game I played where I like, REALLY got into the meta and the mechanics. I used to read so much on the mechanics and watch youtube videos on which medals were worth pulling for. I was never a whale or a top player exactly, but I could rank well if I tried lol I’ve made it to the top 100 for solo rankings, my party has made it to top 10, and in pvp I’ve made top 300. I’m not the highest level in my party but FUCK do I know how to manipulate this game LOL
And with all that hard work, the strategies, the theorizing, the content I’ve made-- it’s been my life for 5 years. I’ve logged into khux almost every single day. At the end, I have logged 1820 days in khux out of 1910 days. Kinda crazy. Crazier I’ve never spent money on khux either lol the only “money” gone into it was one time my mom gave me a google play store gift card and I used it on my birthday for a VIP xemnas medal which eventually made it to regular pulls anyway but it was nice and a little treat :)
I’m not a gacha fan, I don’t care for it, so I don’t think I’ll be touching another gacha again. But for kh? This was pretty fucking awesome, even if it sucked a lot sometimes LOL It was worth it for the people I’ve met most of all I think. I would honestly be a completely different person without khux and that’s REALLY insane to think about.
#the khux hyperfixation is REAL#but yall knew this about me#there's so much more I could say but it's 2am and this is long enough already#im rambling

Hello there! I honestly love the yugioh protag dad headcanons 💛💛💛 and I was wondering if you could do the same for the yugioh rivals? -💞anon
guess who did ALL THREE GX RIVALS BC SHE’S A FOOL IN LOVE
Seto:
Ever stoic, Kaiba is actually terrified of being a father. Obviously his relationship with his own family was hellish— from a very young age, he completely disconnected with the concept of family, apart from his deep connection with Mokuba. Seto never thought about having children, but now that it’s happened, he’s desperate to not be like his own father.
He’s always going to have trouble expressing affection, that’s just how he is. He does his best to convey his feelings, though; he’s slowly learning that he can’t buy his children’s love, but he’s still always presenting them with custom-made cards, or games designed just for their appeal. He pays incredible attention to detail, so everything he gives the kids really is one-of-a-kind, designed for them and nobody else.
Always does his best to spend time with the kids, even though it’s going to be awkward on occasion. Once you have kids, he does his best to stop bringing work home with him— instead, he’ll actually sit the entire family down to have dinner together, or he’ll sit in the living room and read while the kids watch their cartoons. It’ll take him a long time to learn to connect, but he’s going to make an active effort.
Chazz:
Chazz assumed he’d have kids eventually, but that was in more of a “carry on the family name” way instead of “damn I’m in love.” He’s also worried about being a dad, because he’s recognized that his family was awful— but he’s pretty sure that if he just does the opposite of what they did to him, then he should be fine. And of course, he leans heavily on you for support.
He continues pretending he’s stoic as hell, but the truth is, the kids have him wrapped around their fingers from the first time he holds each of them. Whatever they want, they can have. He was able to hold on to a decent amount of family money, so he can safely take breaks from his dueling career to pay attention to the kids— he absolutely attends every event, be it a dance recital or a spelling bee or anything else. He also always has front-row-seats reserved at his duels for you and the kids, if you want them.
Knows for a fact that he wants to keep the children out of the public eye, though; he was shoved into the spotlight early, and it had a dangerous effect on his mental state that he still hasn’t gotten over. Chazz doesn’t want his children going through anything he experienced, so he’s going to do his best to keep your entire family shielded until they’re old enough to decide their paths on their own. Related— whatever they want to do with their lives, he’ll support them wholeheartedly.
Zane:
Zane is another one who’s worried about being a dad; he’s well aware that his health will most likely never fully recover, and he worries about possibly dying young and leaving you without a husband, your small children without a father. In the end, though, he thinks he’d regret not having kids more.
He’s almost overwhelmed by the concept that he’s got a family now; he loves holding the kids when they’re babies, watching their tiny fingers wrap around his much larger hands, or how their faces scrunch up when they laugh. He’s almost always the one to get up in the middle of the night when the kids cry— you’ve followed after him once or twice, only to find him twirling them around in his arms, humming softly, looking at the babies like they hung the moon. Sometimes he falls asleep in the nursery chair, holding them, instead of coming back to bed.
As they grow, he talks to the children as people first and foremost; of course he does his best to shield them from the harshest realities of the world, but he knows that children are smart, and he’s not going to treat them like they’re stupid. He knows that spending several years behind emotional walls damaged many of his past relationships, and he has no intent of repeating that mistake— and he knows that if he’s open and loving with his kids, they’ll continue turning to him when they need him as they grow, instead of just trying to fly on their own.
Aster:
Aster never truly gets over losing his father, and because of that, once he has children, he’s tempted to drop everything in his life and just take care of his family. He’s terrified at the thought of something happening to you or him, leaving the kids without their parents, repeating his own life story. He’s going to rely on you a lot for emotional support.
He takes a few years off dueling so he can help you raise the kids through the toughest years; he probably ends up playing the “bad cop” out of your pair, because he’s still a pretty serious man, but even then, he gives in easily when they turn the puppy eyes on. He’s protective, too; he was already careful to keep you out of the spotlight, but now that you have kids together, he takes extra precautions to preserve your family’s privacy.
Pretty big on gifts; since his deck was a memento of his father, Aster wants to leave something meaningful for his children too, although hopefully it’s under much nicer circumstances. Maybe it’ll be something like specific cards, or maybe he’ll get each child something like customized jewelry or another keepsake— either way, he hopes that his gifts to them are always filled with love and happy memories.
Jack:
Jack never had a father figure, so although he never put much forethought into fatherhood, he’s adamant that he’ll be exactly what he never experienced. Once the topic comes up, though, he knows he wants a big family— he can’t imagine how his life would’ve been if he hadn’t had Martha and the other kids, so he doesn’t want to have just one or two children who get lonely.
He’s deeply proud of his children from the moment they’re born— you’ve gotta stop him from strapping them onto his Duel Runner and bringing them with him during tournaments. He wants nothing more than to show them off to the world, because not only are they his cute little kids that he adores— they’re also living evidence that he is loved, and that’s a feeling he’s still not used to.
You’re absolutely gonna be the voice of reason in the household, because Jack is basically just a big kid himself; when you tell the kids it’s bedtime, he’s right there with them whining, begging for five more minutes, one more episode. He especially pampers any daughters the two of you end up having— daddy-daughter dates are absolutely a thing, for as long as the girls want it. When they’re little, you’re constantly finding him crammed into tiny chairs, sipping imaginary tea with bows pinned in his hair, having a heated argument with a doll over if rose petals are truly edible.
Kite:
Quite obviously, family is important to Kite; he knew he wanted children of his own one day, but like with many of the others, he considered himself too awful a person to ever start a family. While he definitely wants several kids, he wants to take it slowly— a few years between each child, so that you don’t have two or three infants at the same time.
He’s overly-protective of his children; he was forced to grow up far too quickly, and although he’s learned that the world is cruel, he wants to shield the kids from that pain as long as possible. If you don’t keep too close an eye on him, he’s at risk of becoming stifling— but he does trust you immensely, so if you ever point out that he’s preventing the kids from growing, he instantly readjusts himself. He knows it’s vital that they have their own experiences without him, too.
Makes a tradition of taking your entire family back to the countryside where he and Hart grew up. That’s where he’s at his most relaxed— he loves taking the kids swimming or fishing, watching the sunset over the lake every evening. And given that Heartland is so artificial, these trips to the lake will be the kids’ first time seeing fireflies. That’s an absolutely magical moment that he wouldn’t give up for the world.
Shingo:
Shingo was an only child and a lonely child. Looking back now, as an adult, he’s slowly learned that his own father was neglectful; he can pinpoint many aspects of his behavior as originating from that, because he never felt loved, and was desperate to find it wherever it was offered. He doesn’t have a preference in how many children you have together; if you only have one, then he can give all his love, but if you have two or more, then they’ll never be lonely.
He’s still pretty high-strung, so the infancy years are always stressful— but he’s devoted to the things that are important to him, so he’ll push through it, making active efforts to help you through the difficult years too. He may complain to himself when he has to get out of bed and rock the babies to sleep at three in the morning again, but he does an incredible job of shielding his frustrations from the kids as they grow; his father wasn’t too subtle about not valuing him much, and Shingo absolutely never wants his kids to think he feels the same way.
Very much a fun dad; he’s enthusiastic and cartoonish and has incredible reactions to everything. He loves putting on silly shows even when he’s doing something as simple as making dinner. You’ll have him put the kids to bed one night, and then he just won’t come back to finish the movie you were watching— you wander into the bedrooms looking for him, and he’s sprawled out on the floor, the kids all asleep on top of him.
Reiji:
Reiji values family more than anything, even despite the difficult choices he’s had to make through his life. Because of that, he knows for a fact that he wants several children— but he also never wants to pressure you into anything, so it’ll all be at your own pace. If you’re happy, he’s happy.
He does need some time to adjust— he’s never been a very affectionate man, and his family’s trauma has left him struggling and having to relearn how to handle his emotions. He’s overly-gentle with the kids at first, almost skittish; he has trouble picking them up unless you hand them to him, and he’s hesitant to sit down and play with them often. He’s afraid they’ll recognize he’s feeling strange and avoid them, so you’ve gotta work with him through it.
Once he’s past his initial fears, and as the kids get older, Reiji shapes up into a pretty good family man; although he’s busy, he makes a point to set aside consistent time for everyone, and he’s supportive of his children no matter what they choose to do with their lives. He learns to talk openly with them, because without conversations, he tends to overstep boundaries and coddle them— if the kids ask him to let up, he will, but if they need help with anything, he’s there too.

what yugioh decks you could see the dr characters having?
This ask frustrates me immensely because I had to stop to think about things I would have known from the top of my head if were asked this 3-4 years ago. Thankfully, I still remembered most of my 2017 headcanons, to my own surprise. If any of the answers don’t sound too up-to-date, that’s why.
Naegi claims to always like the most popular thing because he’s that normal, so he would use an all-time fan-favorite deck, like Lightsworn or Blackwing.
Maizono would play Shinobirds because it combines both her Tsuru no Ongaeshi and her Tanabata motifs. It’s perfect, honestly. The only way this deck could be more “made for her” is if they were idols.
Kuwata plays whatever is on the meta. The punk rock identity he presents in-game is an aesthetic he developed because his cute hairdresser said she was into musicians, indicating his sense of self is not deeply rooted enough to stick to a fixed deck or theme.
Fujisaki would use a Cyberse deck. A Yusaku deck sounds like a good basic option, but really, I think any Cyberse deck fits.
Oowada, leader of the Crazy Diamonds, would use Gem Knights. His more old-fashioned brother Daiya could use Diamond Dude Turbo.
Ishimaru defines his entire life on his belief that effort should be reward more so than competence, so he would use Zushin, a deck that requires a very unreasonable amount of effort, and unlike Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth, rewards somewhat accordingly.
Since we somehow still don’t have a mahou shoujo deck, Yamada would play Super Quantum. Sky Striker is another reasonably otaku option, but Super Quantum has the giant mechas matching the Justice Robo he created.
Celes plays Vampires. That’s the aesthetics she canonically would kill to live by.
Sakura plays Gouki because that and Dinowrestler somehow are the only dedicated martial arts decks to this day, and Gouki being onis match her stage name being Ogre.
Mukuro would play Igknights because her obsession with guns is intense enough to let her ignore her obsession with her sister.
Junko is already covered in the Shirogane section of the 2017 V3 post.
There are no detective decks (the closest we got is S-Force, which is portrayed as enemies to the Time Thiefs) and Kirigiri sorta refuses to have any identity outside of being a detective, so I guess she would uphold the Kirigiri family’s creed of fairness and neutrality by always facing her opponent with the same type of deck they’re using.
Togami and his impostor play whatever is on the meta because Togami cares about winning more than he cares about self-expression.
I didn’t want to give Asahina a water deck because swimming is just the sport she’s the best at, and what she actually likes is sports and athletes in general. A U.A. deck would fit her, but it would fit Nidai a lot better, so I’m out of sport options. She gets Mermail.
Hagakure is the guy who ignored his debt with the yakuza to buy Ooparts. He would unquestionably play Chronomalies and I don’t like this because I played a lot of Chronomalies back in my YGO days.
Fukawa is the writer who made Japan develop a fisherman fetish, so she’d play a Umi deck. Geno plays Frightfurs for obvious reasons.
Hinata plays whatever is on the meta because this is the guy who was so desperate to win that he practically paid to get himself replaced by someone more capable.
Hanamura plays Suships because it’s the fanciest food deck available.
Koizumi plays Rank 6 because, in the absence of the C/C/C archetype, Force Focus is the closest we have to a camera card.
Peko plays Shiranui because it’s a deck of samurai with no being moved by the spirit of a sword instead of any will of their own, and coincidentally is also the name of the school she and Sakura attended.
Hiyoko plays Madolche because cute pastry.
Mioda could play Romin’s deck in a Rush Duel setting, but in a normal Yugioh setting, I got nothing too good. Evil Twin fits her aesthetic, I guess.
Tsumiki would play Bad Reaction to Simochi. The deck's main monster is an evil nurse and the entire concept of the deck is using healing effects to hurt.
Nidai gets U.A. Self-explanatory.
Tanaka gets Tanukis because it’s a relatively powerful deck that uses only small beasts. The name thing is merely coincidence.
Komaeda uses Arcana Force and regularly wins with it, in a way no one else can.
Human Nanami would play B.E.S. because haha video game reference, I guess. NWP Nanami should play a Cyberse deck like Fujisaki. She’s the SHSL because she plays to win, so she should go with @ignester or Salamangreat (I have no idea what the strongest Cyberse deck is).
Souda would play either Sky Striker because a blondie in a mechsuit is the sexiest thing he can imagine, or any of the many heavy machinery archetypes, like Trains or Infinitracks.
Sonia would play Invoked due to her interest in the occult. I wish there were some onmyouji deck to combine her loves for the occult and for Japan, but in the absence of that, that’s what I’m going with. Mayakashi doesn’t feel occult enough.
Both Kuzuryuu and Owari play dragon spam. The former because his live is bound by the legacy of the Kuzuryuu family and their name means “nine-headed dragon”, and the latter because that’s a deck where you don’t need to think hard, just spam beatsticks and do big damage.
As for updates on the old V3 post:
Akamatsu gets a better option in Doremichord. It requiring the set of being a Pendulum deck fits Akamatsu’s taste for Rube-Goldberg machines.
Sky Striker is a decent option for Shirogane because it’s clothes giving a girl power, but I’ll stick to my Nekroz idea because it’s Yugioh cards cosplaying Yugioh card.
Toujou plays Dragon Maids. Very self-explanatory.

4Kids Korner - Season 2 - Episode 3
I'm a bit late this week because I got caught up with work and school-related dread, but now I'm back to bring you more 4Kids products! This week we have an epic trifepic: Winx Club Magazine Issue one - the castle, Kirby Right Back at Ya - Ice Kirby (DVDouble-Shot) and Kirby Right Back at Ya - Kirby Comes to Cappy Town!
Let's start by getting the smallest one out of the way. Here's Kirby Right Back at Ya - Ice Kirby (2005)
There's something I oddly like about DVDouble-Shot. Starting In 2005, the DVDouble-Shot line was introduced featuring two-Episode DVDs of 4Kids most profitable shows as a way of promoting 4Kids TV. As for the consumer, the main selling point is that you could buy them for a low price, collect and possibly trade them with your friends, kind of like Pokémon cards. I like the idea of one kid saying to the other on the playground, "hey, wanna trade your Ninja Turtles for my YuGiOh?" How successful they were, I have no idea, but they're fun and easy to review on this show. Given their small portion size, practically every DVDouble-Shot is the same. This one had the episodes "The Chill Factor" and "DeDeDe's Snow Job," in accordance with the ice theme of the disc. It also features assorted promos for then-current and upcoming 4Kids shows identical to those seen in the 4Kids TV September demo disc (which I will hopefully review some time in the future.) Before we move on, though there's one little thing I want to point out about the box art. You can't see it in the photos I've provided, but the ice monster on the cover is far more pixelated than Kirby, if you look closely at it, so it appears to me that they lifted it right out of the episode and placed it on the cover. I guess that's just what happens when no official art of a character exists for your graphic designers to use...
Now that we have that one out of the way, let's talk about the stars of today's episode, which actually turned out to have much more historical value than most of the other stuff in my collection. So say hello to the Winx Club Magazine Premiere Issue, The Castle (2005)
This is a very special addition to my collection not only because it's part of what I consider to be 4Kids' absolute peak year, but since the book was presumably printed in January of 2005, it means this was one of the first pieces of of merchandise to feature the now-famous 4Kids TV logo. Heck it might have even been printed before then. As for the book itself, it's quite cute as it features everything an 8-11 year old girl wanting to be a hip and trendy 2000s teenager could want, and contains surprisingly few ads for Winx Club merch. And even more adorable, is the publisher's attempts to fit that description using words like "slammin'" in sentences. I call it a magazine, but it's really more dedicated to the comic included, "The Castle," which I would have read, but I needed to get some sleep the day I read it, so I skimmed the book's numerous activities, instead. But for those still interested, the comic is a retelling of Bloom's enrollment in Alfea, with original art that's pretty accurate to the actual show. But the book's real allure is the activities. Like the free trading card you'll see in the photo above. It even comes with a full-page description of what a trading card game is, making reference to YuGiOh in the process, which I thought was funny since 4Kids owned that, and also because it heavily implies that only boys play YuGiOh when the show itself has many female duelists. After that, you have a faux interview with Bloom taken from the perspective of a fellow Alfea Student. What I remember most clearly about that, is that Bloom says she listens to top 40's, which made me think "man, she's got some trash music taste," even though I, myself have said on multiple occasions off of tumblr that I listen to basically everything. Also included on the magazine are a paper fortune-telling toy, a best friend diary which includes a "secret crush" slot to fill in, a page for writing down predictions about the reader's future, and even a personality test which assigns your traits to a type of flower, as suggested by Flora on the page. The funny thing about this is that one question asks for the reader's favorite kind of movie, and one of the options is "anime everything," which I thought was funny since anime was just starting to get big at that time in America, and the online anime community was just starting to grow. Finally, on the last page, probably the most creative of all, is a step-by-step slumber party plan by Musa, which details inviting everyone over, having them show up dressed as their favorite popstar (like Brittany Spears, for example) and bring their favorite CD from said popstar, then taking turns playing them and talking about them. It sounds quite fun, and it made me smile imagining all the little kids who tried this. That's exactly what I think is awesome about children's entertainment: it makes them happy and builds their imagination. So that's the Winx Club Magazine, a really good buy, but I must admit they used the same art of the girls more than once on a few occasions, and also wrote in a plot hole in the interview with Bloom, where she says she discovered her powers as a child, but in the show she unlocks them at her current age when saving Stella from the first monsters of the series. So it may have a couple flukes, but still quite enjoyable.
And last, but never least, it's time for Kirby Right Back at Ya: Kirby Comes to Dream Land (2002)
This one is also historically significant for two reasons. One is that it was the very first release of one of the more famous non-Pokémon/YuGiOh shows 4Kids had to offer, but it also played a part in promoting the very launch of the Fox Box, as you'll see on the box art. This disc may only have the first three episodes of the show, but it super makes up for it with a plethora of special features, more than any of the DVDs I currently own, and that they strangely enough don't tell you about on the box. And speaking of the box, though you might not see it, the episode descriptions on the back are written entirely in comic sans. Yeah, it's clear to see 4Kids wasn't quite as sharp as they would be in the next few years... and the DVD menus are also written entirely in this font. But that doesn't take away from the outstanding value. much like the Fright to the Finish DVD, this one's special features are split between two menus. For this one, there's "More Kirby" and "Added Attractions," which is the far superior one, but more on that in a minute. The More Kirby menu features a character gallary telling you about the main cast, set to music from the show. Then there's "Kirbyoke," which is there to teach the kids the words to the theme song. And finally, we have a preview for the next DVD in the series, which at that point hadn't a proper name, so Mike Pollock's voice just refers to it as "Kirby Right Back at Ya Volume 2." Then, in the "Added Attractions" menu, we have a promo for Cubix - Robots for Everyone's first DVD release, a short promo for the newly-launched FoxBox.TV website, and the star of this review by far, "What's Inside The Fox Box?!" This incredible 14 minute long promo (which you can find on Youtube, by the way,) previews every single show in the Fox Box's initial lineup as a way of hyping up the network for it's September 2002 launch. Well, kind of... You see, 4Kids made multi-minute promos for their own productions, complete with plot synopses by Mike Pollock and others and theme songs for the shows. Meanwhile, Stargate Infinity, a third-party show, only got a promo featuring still images of the main cast, a paper-thin explanation of the plot and no opening, all clocking in at under a minute. So, yeah, pretty lame move on 4Kids part, but at least we get to see HD footage of 4Kids lost Ultraman Tiga dub. Ultimately, it's a really fun promo from 4Kids' very beginnings as a dedicated children's entertainment company, even though it uses some uncut clips of guns in Fighting Foodons since the dub wasn't finished at that point. One last thing to point out: the promo for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which hadn't even started production at the time,) features an unused theme song demo for the series which also made it's way onto the illusive Fox Box CD. So there you have it, one of the DVDs that started it all. Thanks for reading about it, as well as my other items this week. I will be back with more next week, so hang in there, and I'll see you all next time. Take care!

Alright, cool. I finally have a guaranteed length of time that should be long enough to go through all of these, so let’s do this. I know the plan was to have me address each ask one at a time but that didn’t work out lol so I’m just doing it all at once. I’m also turning it into a post so anyone who wants to can follow along with my journey.
I’m also gonna copy/paste the text of the other asks instead of screen capping them because copy/pasting is faster lol.
I’m gonna put a pic of each one here, give my thoughts, maybe a goofy rating (I dunno), and then pick my favorite. Just so y’all know.
* Tanawy's entry n.1 in the Dragon Quest monster showcase: the all-time classic Slime. When asked to design the Slime like the standard goop monster they usually were, Toriyama said "no" and a legend was born, now cute slimes are more popular than the disgusting goop depiction. Its cousins and variants are numerous and some are very different from one another so as a bonus here the criminally underutilized Mottle Slime and its evolution the Mottle King Slime.
See, I don’t even need to look this one up. Here it is:
But let’s be real, you guys didn’t need to see an image of this dude either. I love this thing. I never went through a period where I thought of the grosser oldschool slimes. This thing has always been what’s come to my mind when I here the word in an RPG context. Which, considering my zero experience with DQ, really speaks to this thing’s popularity. I am actually going to remove this one from consideration, though, for that reason. I just have too much of a bias towards it. I know it too well, and all variations seem to be equally great. It’s a 10/10, though. Truly iconic.
Get the rest after the cut!
* Tanawy's entry n.2: Originally a boss monster, here is the Golem. While not the sharpest tool in the shed, these brick-made guys can be quite loyal, with a child-like personality, downright adorable (I will never forget you Goldirox) but their strenght in battle must not be underestimated. And since St. Valentinus is around the corner here a Chocolate Golem variant as a gift. Friendship chocolate mind you, from a dude to another 😄
I like this guy. He reminds me of a couple oldschool Yugioh cards. They’re all bad cards, but I’m nostalgic for them so that help’s this guy’s chances. I don’t know that I buy him as a threatening boss, though. He seems more like he’d be your big stone pal.
The chocolate variant is absolutely adorable.
8.5/10 overall for both.
* Tanawy's entry n.3: Here are two members of the Machine Family, first the Killing Machine. These relentless hunters are merciless and they are constantly upgrading, so models with different modifications are plenty. They even come with garden sprinkles. Then there is the Mecha-mynah, who puts a different spin on the mechanical Cuckoo-bird motif. Careful these guys have razor-sharp wings and they selfdestruct when cornered.
Alright, not so much for the second one, but the Killing Machine also reminds me of, like, a half dozen Yugioh monsters. Did Kazuki Takahashi just like ripping this franchise off or something? Either way, these are both good designs, but they don’t really work for me that much. They’re a little...plain? I guess? I guess I like my machine creatures rougher and with more detail. 7/10.
* Tanawy's entry n.4: Next are my deepest fears (exaggeration) if they were real; the Waspion, half wasp half scorpion, and the Claw Hammer, Half hammerhead shark half metal scolopendra, all nightmare. Continuing with the caravan of creepiness, here is the Bona Constrictor, just get it away from me. This next one, when i saw it for the first time i yelled "WTF is That?!" here is the Ulcer, a walking awful pile of rotting flesh.
I am NOT a fan of the Ulcer. That thing’s ugly, and not even in a fun way. 0/10.
I like these other guys, though:
The Waspion is literally just Gligar from Pokemon, but aside from that I like animal/creature mash-ups. And the Claw Hammer is a pretty unique one. 9/10 for the whole lot.
* Tanawy's entry n.5: Beef or chicken? Why choose when you can have both? Here is a heavyweight of the Bird Family the taurine Bullfinch. But dont forget your vegetables, or else they might turn into these Plant family monsters, the eggplant Woebergine, the bellpeppers Capsichum and the cucumber Cruelcumber. Also, meet the Peahooter, these guys pelts their targets with arrows taking advantage of their higher ground.
Okay, we’ve got another mash-up creature here in the form of the Bullfinch, but I’m not feeling this one as much. It’s worth, like, a 6.5/10, maybe. The Woebergine and the Peahooter are both pretty interesting. The Peahooter is kinda cute in a weird way and the Woebergine is delightfully derpy. They both deserve approaching an 8/10. I’m not really feeling the Capsichum at all though. They get a 5 or a 6/10.
* Tanawy's entry n.6: Who doesn't like a good dog? Well maybe not these guys from the Beast family: the Chainine who will ensnare their preys with their collars, the Putrefido, who is no longer alive, the Abracadabrador, who will eat your bones, the Crocodog, a levitating (yes this thing floats in the air) dog-crocodile hybrid and finally the Jackal Ripper (long lost relative of Wolverine or just imitator? More at 11 on the news)
Hey now. That’s not really fair to the other entries. Every one of these dudes:
Is a very GOOD BOI. I think I like the Abracadabrador the least. He’s a little too un-dog-like compared to the others. 6.5/10. The Chainine and the Putrfido are both the perfect blend of cute and weird. I like them a lot. They get 7.5/10. Jackal Ripper is a badass 8/10. He’d be cooler if he was wearing jeans. I LOVE the Crocodog, though. 10/10. Perfect. He just looks like a friend, but he also looks like he could kill my enemies. Which is what I like in a monster.
* Tanawy's entry n.7: Here is a taste of Japan with the Boppin’ badger, the most Tanuki-like monster you will ever meet; Then these guys don't need consent to give everyone within their reach a smooch, here is the Lips. Also, beware of these horses of the underworld, the Equinox where they probably hangout with these other lovely fellows, the Hellspawn. Speaking of which here is the demon Teeny Sanguini. Cute eh? Not when it evolves in the Bloody Manguini. Thankfully not everyone of them does that.
Okay, you can’t fool me. That first one is just a regular animal.
Jokes aside, though, I’m not really feeling this bunch unfortunately. The Hellspawn just reminds me too much of mutant can Steven, the Lips is a little boring, and the Equinox, while I like the wordplay in its name, and while it’s cool in principal, is too busy. I’m just not feeling the designs of these guys overall. 4 or 5/10 for the whole lot. Though the Teeny Sanguini is closer to a 5 than a 4.
* Tanawy's entry n.8: There are two species of monsters, the Pips and their cousins the Conks, who constatly imitate the classic classes of the humans, like warriors or priests, but this time the little rascals have gone a little farther and here they are copying the DQ8 4 main heroes in the Trodainian Conklave, the DQ4 heroes in the Zenithian Conklave, the hero of DQ1 and the 3 heroes of DQ2 in the Alefgardian Conklave and the hero of DQ3 with 3 other companions in the Aliahanian Conklave. Cute.
Okay, I love the idea of these things. They’re cute, they fit right in with the general aesthetic of the franchise, and they have a ton of personality. I’m not gonna post pics of all of them because there’re so many, but they deserve ~9/10 collectively. They’re very good.
* Tanawy's entry n.9: Not enough dragons? So here's three: what do you get mixing a T-rex, a dragon and a vicious axeman? An Hacksaurus that's what! Then the Drakulard. Don't be fooled by their mole these portly fellows mean business. Another chubby dragon, the Jargon: dragonic masters of the clay containers, these guys URNed their right to use jar puns and they will make sure you remenber it, even if they have to crack your pot.
Okay now these are more what I was thinking when I heard the title Dragon Quest.
I like the Hacksaurus the best outta them. He just looks nice. They’re all good, though. They fit the art style perfectly, and resemble each other just enough that you buy them all being related creatures. 8/10 overall, though the Hacksaurus is a little above the others, with the Jargon being a barely at the bottom of the barrel. Or the jar I guess.
* Tanawy's entry n.10: The only story entry in this showcase, because just look at him, it's the only DQ big baddie (at least in english) to actually call themselves "the Demon Lord" It's Orgodemir, specifically it's true form which is the first photo you find in the gallery at almost end-page. Let me just tell you this, Orgodemir is a d*ck of the highest level. The brain it's actually an eyelid for a giant eye by the way. Happy Nightmares.
HAHAHAHA. I know there are other forms for this guy, and this is probably not the reaction that anyone who played the game would have, but I just can’t take this guy seriously. He looks like Edward Cullen with bat wings. HAHAHA. 8/10 ‘cause it made me laugh.
* Tanawy's entry n.11: And lastly, in a category i like to call "I can't belive these are real", its the Funky Ferret; yes he and his cousins do exactly what the image shows. And the almost copyright-infinging Owlbear, yes they did not even try to distance themself from D&D with this one (ok they have a variant but is not saying much). There were others in the last category, but since they REALLY did not age gracefully to the modern standards of "acceptable" i prefered not show them.
I love Owlbears, they’re just such iconic fantasy monsters at this point, so he gets a solid 8/10 rating by default. It’s a pretty original take, too, focusing on the cuteness potential of the creature over the badass potential. I like that.
The Funky Ferret, though...
With a name like that this guy coulda been so cool. But he’s just a pretty generic design blended with a fart joke. What a bummer. 3/10.
And there we have it. Probably not exactly what you were thinking but I hope you like it. I don’t hate any of these guys. Some are more boring than others, but there’s something neat about each of them. I like the ones that take badass ideas and make them cute while remaining intimidating best out of all of them, and I think the Crocodog does this best with the Hacksaurus as the runner up. Crocodog is definitely my favorite of these, though. He gets the Best Good Boi award of Bestness.
Orgodemir gets an award, too, though, the “made AJ spit out his rum and Coke laughing” award. It’s not the most coveted, but it’s something.
I know this is a long one, and y’all may not want to reblog, but what do any of my followers think of these funky dudes? Leave a comment on this post or reblog with your answer in the tags!
