tell me more about papaya. Ive never heard anyone say bad things about it. Can I put it in a smoothie? Also are there any other antibacterial foods Im unaware of? (Mad about onions)
Papaya is a food rich in digestive enzymes, which means eating it can help your body digest things better, even if your stomach acid is weak, your body isn't making enough of its own enzymes (like in the case of gluten intolerance and celiacs). You can even purchase papaya enzyme as a pill, but it's not as effective. There are other foods with digestive enzymes ā mango, pineapple, avocado, banana, melon. That weirdly spongy fruit texture is almost always a giveaway that it's got some stomach boosting foods. Honey and ginger are also enzymatic, but they're antibiotic (not even antibacterial, full on antibiotic they're that strong). Coconut is also enzymatic, but it's a balancing act because the fat converts to antibacterials as it's digested, so you might try getting a product with coconut aminos instead of eating the coconut meat itself.
You can put papaya in a smoothie! You can put it in juice. You unfortunately cannot buy it pre juiced unless you're also going to drink a lot of sugar and other fruit juices. It is very tasty if you do not breathe while you are drinking it and rinse your mouth afterwards because your lips and mouth will also smell like vomit.
Almost every herb or spice is antibacterial. Turmeric, rosemary, oregano, sage, clove, cinnamon, black pepper, salt, even basil has a couple strains (though it seems more antifungal than antibacterial). It's speculated the reason humans like the flavor to begin with is because we know subconsciously it's protecting the food at make with it.
As for actual foods, citrus, cranberries, anything that is purple or red (grapes, pomegranate, blueberries, black currents, tomatoes, radishes, etc.), peppers, anything in the allium family, coconut oil, and honey are all antibacterial. Green foods ā even green versions of red vegetables like green cabbage or green grapes ā are not antibiotic, and onion greens are significantly more friendly than the roots, too. Plus, anything grown with herbicides and pesticides is going to kill your microbiome, so avoiding that and going organic is very important.

I prefer shaving over waxing or hair removal creams (which I find do more harm than good). While waxing is effective, I feel like it's not always possible to get waxed, especially for spontaneous plans. This is where I come in to give my tips for meri priyein sakhis.
1. Trim First
Before shaving, trim the hairs if needed. The shorter the hair, the easier and closer the shave will be.
2. Exfoliate
Exfoliation is crucial. It removes dead cells that may clog your hair follicles, prepares the follicles for hair removal and may prevent ingrown hairs. Use a gentle exfoliator or mild scrub specifically for sensitive areas or tools like loofahs or exfoliating gloves. Continue exfoliating every few days after shaving.
3. Apply Shaving Cream/ Gel
Use a shaving cream or gel that's suitable for sensitive skin, ex- oils, non-scented baby soaps, sensitive skin shaving gels. It's best to do your own research. Remember whatever you choose to apply is strictly for outside and not to go on the inside portion of the vagina. Let it sit for a few minutes to soften the hairs.
4. Choose the Right Razor
A good razor is essential. Men's razor could be a good alternative since it's mostly for sensitive skin. Again, I think you should do your own research before buying. Also, keep your normal shaving razor and vag razor different.
5. Shaving Technique
Most important step in shaving is the direction in which you shave which is in the direction of hair growth (downwards), not against it. Another method is side to side but never upwards or against the grain because that causes irritation & hair bumps. So on, don't press too hard and avoid over-shaving the same area.
6. Aftercare
Rinse with cold water to soothe the skin. Apply products to prevent razor bumps, like coconut oil and use a natural moisturiser like aloe vera gel. Pat the skin dry and wear breathable clothes. Cotton underwear is best, or go commando to let your skin breathe.
mini care tips:
Use natural/organicĀ pads, tampons and liners
Stop using products with fragrance on them on your body. They are extremely harmful and throws off your body's ph balance.
I know I said do your own research, but I still want to lay it out there that from my own experimentations and research, coconut oil is the best. No shaving creams or other products can compare. Though they ruin the razors really fast.
There's nothing wrong with your natural vagina smell but if you want it to taste sweet, try to incorporate more teas, water, lime water, cranberry juice and more natural food in general (fruits and vegetables) to keep your ph balanced.
I said this before but wear mainly cotton underwear and go commando as much as you would like to let your vagina breathe.Ā
Menās razors >>> women's razors. Cheaper, closer shave and cleaner.

grocery list time~
literally just get these things if you want a vegan low cal life, because you can control portions and make things you enjoy eating with less calories- i made some example recipes under the list:
coffee.
SPICES. please make the investment into SPICES!
->continuation of spices, heres a basic list- cocoa powder, cinnamon, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, veggie bouillon powder/cubes, salt, pepper, lemon pepper, etc (you can find more online but please dont forget it)
->and simple sauces like soy sauce, basic hot sauce, mustard, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, etc.
stevia or agave fruit sweetener. (please make sure whatever you choose you dont buy any sweetener with aspartame!!)
dairy free yogurt (iāve heard coconut is good)
dairy free butter (earthbalance is my fav by far)
-> you could also make due with olive oil (cooking)
1st milk for normal stuff- unsweet cashew milk or unsweet creamy almond milk
->2nd milk for cooking- i suggest soymilk but creamy coconutmilk works good too
tofu. extra firm and silky work for different things (meat substitutes, egg substitute, diff. milk products substitutes) get either/both
carrots, mushrooms, chickpeas, and cauliflower all make good meat substitutes (bacon, chicken nuggets, pulled pork, etc) if cooked properly
OATS! plain oats are soooo versatile (used as flour, cereal, granola, crust, etc)
ricecakes (i use it as replacement for toast)
Pumpkin or sweet potato (in NO SYRUP canned form, very good for cooking low cal desserts or protein bars)
apple sauce (used for cooking and just yum- can be an egg substitute)
low cal noodle types- chickpea, edamame, shirataki, konjac, cauliflower, zucchini, spaghetti squash, and i think miracle noodle
literally any and all veggies and fruits- but a reminder of basics are broccoli, cucumber, onions, spinach, beets, eggplant, tomato, zucchini, potato, apple, banana, grapes, oranges, pineapple, strawberries, watermelon, mango, etc
WARNING ā ļø be careful of sugar free drink flavor packets as they contain aspartame and other strange ingredients that ppl have complained of side effects- i would suggest to steer clear of many of the packets and go for a large unsweetened lemonade or fruit punch bin of flavoring so you can make it yourself. please check ingredients for health reasons.
-> HOWEVER, drinks like olipop, simple truth organic, waterloo, and zevia all have flavored water/sparkling water/cola drinks that are aspartame free.
I highlighted things that i think are really important
Veggie dip: yogurt, seasoning spices (ranch seasoning is goated), and a tbsp or lemon or soysauc, all mixed and best used as a āveggie chipā dip, like baked cucumber chips
Literally any cake/protein bar: oats blended, protein powder, 1/2cup apple sauce OR mashed banana, some milk, and whatever toppings you like
Granola: oats, chia seeds, cut up fruit pieces, and maple syrup or honey for binding. mix in bag, bake on baking sheet on pan.
Hot n sour soup: you can use hot n sour packet or make veggie bouillon and add hot sauce, soy sauce, and tsp chili powder. Then (to whichever mix youāve made) add egg mixing around, and then add extra firm tofu in little cubes. Let the soup mix well and set a little while cooling.
Nicecream: freeze banana. add banana, tbsp of milk, 2 tbsp of yogurt, tbsp of sweetener, and a fruit of choice (a tbsp of protein powder also will help). blend with blender and then let it sit for a minute- add whatever you want on top
my best ātoastā: seasalt ricecake, spread 1tbsp vegan cream cheese, and then spread 1.5 tbsp of organic raspberry jelly.

I put together this quick guide with some basic information on single-source oils used in skincare. This is not a comprehensive list of all oils used in skincare, just a list of those commonly used as single-source oils. Some oils have more abundant information than others.
As a review, single-source facial oils are used to add moisture and restore skin's natural barrier. To use, you can add a few drops to your favorite moisturizer and mix in your hands prior to application or you can use oils on their own. Simply put a few drops in your palm to warm, then apply a thin layer to skin.
Some of these oils are quite common and can be found in your average grocery store. Others might only be available from specialty retailers, health food stores, and the like. Remember to check and make sure whatever you're buying is organic and has no additives.

I need some healthy snack ideas if you don't mind.
Mhmm, a really good one is roasting your own nuts! I've done it with cashews and almonds but lately I've been into pecans - soaking them in a bowl with water and salt for several hours, up to 12 hours, then leaving them in the oven at 150 or as low as yours will go for at least 8 hours. Or you can just buy nuts "raw" or "dry-roasted" and add your own salt and/or olive oil whenever you can't roast them yourself.
I also really like MASA chips - they're fried in tallow. Whenever I let someone try them they like them! They're a bit of a pain because they're rare in stores, you have to order them, and they're not cheap, but I find it worth it to subscribe.
Another chip brand that you're more likely to find in stores is Siete, and I like to get their avocado oil-fried blue chips.
For crackers, I'm starting to exclusively use Rustic Bakery sourdough olive oil crackers, they're delicious and extremely simple, lacking a lot of the ingredients that make most crackers (such an innocuous-sounding snack, we've been so deceived!) really unhealthy. Stonewall Kitchen also has some crackers that are seed oil-free.
I also like to try protein balls whenever I see them at a coffee shop, everyone seems to have their own recipe, they're a good satisfying snack. I've been trying to copy them on my own but (to me at least) they're more challenging than they look. Lately, I've been making muffins using bananas, apple cider, whole organic spelt flour, copious amounts of cinnamon (and the standard egg, baking soda, baking powder, salt, vanilla extract, butter) and getting very positive responses! I've also been making gluten-free, incidentally vegan cookies with pure peanut butter, coconut oil, and oatmeal.

i have a few questions about your hair routine!
i've already started using the silk cap but im curious about what kind/brand of clay you use to wash your hair and what oils you use if you dont mind sharing :)
also the apple cider vinegar, do you use that in the shower too ??
i've noticed a big difference just from using natural shampoo/condotioner/dry shampoo but if i can do more to help my hair i would love to know !
Thanks !!!
Sure!
So all stuff was bought from Amazon, thereās also natural food stores or apothecaries that sell this stuff too. If you buy bulk and only wash your hair once a week, your stuff will last for months (I bought a pound of clay at the beginning of January, itās still going strong even now) youāll save a lot of money in the long run. Keep in mind, this is just *my* routine, some people have way more complicated ones, some have simpler ones, everyoneās hair is different. I have very fine, slightly wavy hair thatās just past shoulder length, you might have longer/thicker/curlier hair that needs more product than I use.
So my week looks like this:
Friday ā I take one eighth cup of Aromine rassouhl clay, put it in a glass measuring cup (this cup has a handle and measures two cups total) and fill the rest of this with water. You want your clay mixture to be VERY watery, not thick and mud-like like a face mask (which you can absolutely use this clay for, too! It makes your skin super soft). I put this on my scalp, you can do this with a plastic squeeze bottle or just dump about half of it on, work it through your scalp, and take the length of you hair and dip it into the measuring cup and let it sit for a sec. Dump the rest of the mixture over your head and work the clay all through your hair. Wash out. Put your conditioner of choice in the length of your hair. Iām using Avalon Organics right now, but Iām going to explore other options once this bottle is empty and see if I can find something with less additives, or maybe look into making my own. If Iām short on time, I let conditioner sit for only a minute. If I have time, I like to let it sit for ten. I take VERY short showers unless itās hair wash day, usually. While Iām sitting with conditioner in Iāll shave my legs (if itās spring or summer, if itās fall or winter we Sasquatchmaxxing in this bitch). Wash conditioner out. I then take my glass measuring cup again, pour about a cup of Braggs apple cider vinegar, and fill the rest with water. I then dip the length of my hair in the cup, sit for a minute, then dump the rest over my head. Make sure to shut your eyes TIGHT when you do this, ACV stings (yeowch!). Work the ACV through your scalp. Again, if I have time, Iāll sit for a sec with it in my hair. Rinse out. When Iām out of the shower, I take a very small amount of sweet almond oil and put it in the tips of my hair. I use Now Organics, and Iāve actually found that I like almond oil much better on my skin as a moisturizer than coconut oil, itās much lighter and I think coconut was making me break out. Sleep in your silk cap.
Saturday through Wednesday ā Brush with a hog bristle brush at night, sleep in your silk cap.
Thursday night ā I put almond oil in the length of my hair (donāt put it in your scalp! Itāll be hard to get out).
So thatās my routine in a nutshell. Youāll notice that pretty much all the products I use have multiple uses; clay can be used for skincare, I use ACV in the kitchen all the time, almond oil is also great for skincare. There are tons of YouTubers out there that have other adviceāthere are bougie, expensive blow dryers that only blow cold /lukewarm air so as to not damage your hair when you dry it, some people recommend taking sulfur as a supplement, some people do weekly hair masks, and thereās TONS of tutorials out there on protective hair styles, to keep your hair off your back and shoulders (and consequently from rubbing on your clothes and skin and contributing to split ends) Iām going to start implementing some of these now that my hair is long enough, but Iām terrible at doing my own hair so this will be a steep learning curve for me.
The point behind ānaturalā hair care is that youāre trying to mimic, to the best of your abilities, the type of hair care that people implemented before the advent of store bought shampoos and conditioners. And there are so many various different types of hair care one can find from various different time periods and geographic locations but as a general rule:
-People used what they had access to based on where they lived.
-People covered their hair for reasons other than religious ones; if you worked out in the fields or had a gaggle of kids to take care of while you did your household chores, waist length hair got in the way. Women put their hair up and covered it to prevent exposure to dirt, dust, wind, and sunlight, both women and men often wore scarves/kerchiefs/nightcaps to bed (particularly in colder climates), both men and women wore hats when they went outside, and, most importantlyāpeople just didnāt wash their hair nearly as often as the modern person does. All the historical ladies in pictures and paintings had long hair because of this (and because short hair, in the Western world, just didnāt really come into fashion until fairly recently).
Final thoughtsā
ā You might go through a āadjustment periodā where your hair gets really greasy, particularly if youāre someone who washes their hair often or someone who uses sulfate heavy shampoos. You might want to slowly extend time between washes and alternate clay/ACV washes with shampoo ones.
ā Most biotin and collagen supplements are a waste of money. Get your collagen through your diet.
āKatharine Sewing on YouTube is where I got my current hair routine; she has some excellent hair care videos, highly highly recommend.
ā If you have finer hair, Iād suggest almond or jojoba oil, if your hair is thick, you might want to try coconut oil or even shea butter (and all of these are fantastic on skin, too, and much better than any lotion you can buy at a store)
āI had something else but I forgot

10 Natural Dry Skin Remedies You Can DIY at Home
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ffd1a2c434dac62edf73f9a07d6b5e64/16ecd786ec6f6282-af/s540x810/86826071dc8a6b35f17584fd391886aa72c08ec4.jpg)
Sometimes we donāt pay much attention to caring for our skin, even though itās the largest organ in the body. Skin suffers from dryness due to winter weather, hot showers and vigorous scrubbing with a towel when we dry ourselves.
You donāt have to head out to buy expensive lotions and potions to rehydrate your skin ā your kitchen may already contain all the ingredients you need. Natural remedies are also better for your skin, as they donāt contain all the extra chemicals that manufactured skin creams have in them.
Here are 10 simple and all-natural remedies for dry skin:
1. Olive Oil Cleanser
Olive oil works as a natural cleanser and moisturizer.Ā All you need to do is rub the oil on your skin and drape a warm, damp cloth over your face until it cools. Wipe away any excess oil and youāre done. Olive oil is a good choice for a skin cleanser because it doesnāt strip away your skinās natural oils.
2. Rich Avocado Mask
The creamy richness of avocado works well to soothe dry skin. We suggest pureeing half an avocado and mixing it with a teaspoon of olive oil. If your skin is very dry, add a tablespoon of honey too. Apply the mask and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. For an extra moisture boost, apply your regular moisturizer after you have removed the mask.
3. Olive Oil and Sugar Scrub
This combination makes a great exfoliating scrub with moisturizing benefits. Mix half a cup of sugar with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. You can also add an essential oil, such as lavender, to give a soothing fragrance.
Rub the mixed ingredients into your skin, and then wash off. Apply a moisturizer to double up on the benefits of exfoliated skin.
4. Oatmeal Bath Soak
Add a cup of oatmeal to a warm bath, and enjoy the benefits of rehydrated skin. The oat product has skin-soothing properties, and it also helps your skin to retain moisture from the water.
5. Homemade Oatmeal Honey Mask
Oatmeal also makes a good mask or exfoliator. Mix 2 tablespoons of oats with a tablespoon of honey and a dash of water. Gently warm the mixture, then rub it onto your skin. It can be used as an exfoliator and washed off straight away, or you can leave it on for around 15 to 20 minutes as a hydrating mask.
6. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil isnāt just useful in the kitchen ā use it as a moisturizing cream at bedtime. Because it is solid at room temperature, it can be applied easily. If you have chapped hands and feet, apply the oil, then cover with thick socks or non-latex gloves.
7. Add Oil to Your Bath
Natural oils such as olive, coconut, argan and avocado oil can be used as a bath soak to moisturize skin and protect the natural skin barrier, which is often stripped away by washing with drying soaps that remove the natural oils from the skin.
Add a few tablespoons of oil under running bath water. If you donāt fancy scrubbing the oil slick off the bath after youāve finished, rub a small amount of oil to your skin after your bath instead.

8. Milk Compresses
Milk has natural anti-inflammatory properties, and it contains lactic acid, which works as a mild, natural exfoliant. Apply milk compresses to your skin for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Itās great for irritated, itchy skin too, but lactic acid can sting cracked skin, so use with caution.Ā Apply milk by soaking a washcloth in a bowl of cold milk and then pressing it against your driest, itchiest spots for a few minutes.

9. Fruit Enzyme Cleanser or Exfoliant
Fruit enzymes can really help your skin during cold weather. The alpha-hydroxy acids exfoliate the top layer of dull, dead skin cells on the face and body.
Use a pineapple, pumpkin or papaya fruit-enzyme face mask twice a week for bright skin.
10. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera gel isnāt just for treating sunburn. It can help your skin during the winter months by reducing redness and irritation due to dryness.
Some people can develop allergic contact dermatitis from aloe, so do a patch test first before applying it to a big area of skin.
