I cannot express how much I HATE when they paint Dream as a bad guy, my brother in crist, you are losing the point of Dream as character.
And i hate it in particular when they paint him like that to evangelize Nightmare.
Dream is not perfect and he would never hurt people intentionally so why would you put him as a terrible being? 😭

Dragon Ball rant (shocker ik)
One thing that annoyed me in dbz is how loose the "saiyans get stronger everytime they lose and are healed"
Like in the Namek/Frieza saga we have Goku and Vegeta getting incredibly strong after losing to people like Ginyu and Zarbon, but in the Buu saga Gohan gets his ass kicked twice and it had no effect on his strength when Kibito and Dende healed him. And same with Goku after Vegeta had beaten him and Dende healed him.
It annoys me a lot more than it should lmao, I love the concept don't get me wrong but just deciding that it doesn't matter at certain crucial points is a bit odd to me

I believe Vegeta was generally okay with his sacrifice to kill Majin Buu being all for nothing.
Because he's seen Goku do something similar; save Earth by sacrificing his own life, only for Cell to return immediately after.
Of course, it can't be completely be compared seeing as Cell was blowing himself up, Goku stepped in to help Gohan, etc. But Vegeta probably sees it as the same thing.

Man is super scared of close his eyes, i am sure of it. He doesn't haves a bed on his house neither.
I think Epic legitimately doesn't sleep unless he collapses from exhaustion.
He's probably always looking for methods to stay awake. He's gotten to the point where his system has become immune to sleeping pills so he explores more extreme methods and hopefully dies trying.
I also see him as a workaholic; he keeps his head constantly stimulated so sleep doesn't overtake him. If he can't work, because there's no work to do, then he does literally anything; learn a recipe, play solitaire, watch anime, exercise, walk Toby (who has accidentally killed him by crushing him once and I like to think that's how he discovered his immortality), etc.
Every so often, given how quickly his body adjusts, he changes his routine as he begs for a solution to his cursed eye problem. Does he experiment on himself? I think so.
Since its been two DECADES (can't get over that) of Epic's painful nightmares I wonder how he manages and deals with them nowdays vs how he did when it first started.

I don't care how much you love it, what your headcanons are or how you interpret it. The Vegeta/Bulma pairing is one of the absolute worst writing fumbles in Toriyama's entire career.
It paints Bulma in a bad light for banging a remorseless, murderous space pirate who was responsible for the deaths and near-deaths of most of her friends. It paints Yamcha in a bad light because of Toriyama's "oh um, he totally cheated... offscreen... sometime... maybe... yeah" excuse, regardless of how out of character that is for manga/anime Yamcha. It paints the entire Dragon Team in a bad light because they just accept this malicious gremlin into their group despite doing absolutely nothing to truly earn it. And it clumsily tries to start some sort of character arc for Vegeta's actual redemption, poorly done as it is.
Nothing about this is organic or feels natural. Even when I first saw it, it felt forced because dammit we needed another Super Saiyan, even though the concept is trivialised by old fart Gero making cyborgs and droids who could wipe the floor with them and the genocidal, intergalactic tyrant that was considered the most powerful being in existence at the time.
I just...ugh...I hate...HATE this entire mess. Whenever I'm reading, rewatching, replaying anything from the Cell arc I always groan at this nonsense.
In the later arcs and media, you just accept it and move on because Vegeta isn't the remorseless ass hat he was when the relationship started, but man...

Given I'm on the TOP and I ranted about Yamcha's treatment I GOT to rant about the MISHANDLEMENT of Buu πŸ˜’
Like.....he's the victim of a gag that's not only NOT funny but something that's just another detriment to Dragon Ball Super.
Tumblr media
Like you give this guy a kick ass fight that REALLY pisses me off he wasn't used sooner in the series:
Tumblr media
And you give him all this hype and even give him a new redesign:
Tumblr media
And you replace him with this washed-up, overused and out of relevancy villain πŸ™„πŸ˜‘πŸ˜
Tumblr media
And I say this as someone who REALLY used to enjoy Frieza. But now he's just an insufferable pain in the ass who won't go away and is as annoying as Naraku from Inuyasha.

watching a video about the majin buu saga of dbz and thinking about Buu. like he was a threat to humanity who killed 2/3s the population of earth yet was a fun and interesting character.
also thinking of him vs Thanos who is boring and sucks. Marvel stans would have so much more fun if they'd just get into the most basic mainstream anime and manga. I KNOW this has been said so many times but it's true.

I know it doesnt bother him, but this makes me INCREDIBLY sad. Because the world did forget him. King Piccolo televised a lot of his horrors. People watched and lived in fear. And then he was gone. Because of a boy with a tail. And people knew. And then three years past. And people sprinted AWAY from the worlds martial arts tournament as that same boy defended them once again. And won. The ring was destroyed. There was nothing left. But Piccolo was defeated. And goku was the worlds champion. But they all forgot. Every previous winner of the worlds martial arts tournament was always met with such awe and admiration. Not Goku.
And then the saiyans came. And the citizens of Earth once again witnessed their planet and very existence on the edge of demise. And though no one saw the saiyans defeated, people had to know it was him. They had to suspect that the brave hero who saved them from demon king piccolo and piccolo jr, a previous martial arts champion, had once again come forth to save them from the saiyans. Because who else could it have been?
But they never really cared to investigate. They never cared to give goku recognition, even before mr satan started taking credit. Because Goku wasnt loud about it. He didnt brag. Or tell anyone. He didnt go on the news. Or ask for rewards. He didnt care to. Earth was his home so of course he would protect it.
I think a lot about when vegeta asks goku how many times he's saved earth during the majin buu arc and his insistence the humans take responsibility for their own planet for once. It was the only play they could make, but its vegeta's very pointed reasoning behind the spirit bomb that had me smiling; the very notion of shifting the responsibility of earths safety off gokus shoulder and onto their own. Because earth just expects to be saved and theyve taken goku for granted all this time. And I love vegeta for it.
So while goku doesnt care, probably prefers not being the center of earths attention like that, the very fact that the world has completely and utterly forgetten him and everything hes done for them will always be profoundly sad to me.

Everything wrong in Battle of the Gods. Part 1.
Something I don't understand about the Dragon Ball fandom is that they would admit hating DB Super and say that Resurrection F is the worst modern DB movie, but for some reason, they praise Battle of the Gods, a movie that, in my opinion, was what kickstarted everything bad about Super.
So I decided to make a post pointing out the retcons it did and why it feels more like an alternative universe instead of a continuation of the anime we all know and love. Also me ranting about it.
Tumblr media
2013's Battle of the Gods movie is the movie that revived the franchise 17 years after the anime and manga officially ended. Everyone was excited to have this beloved anime return after so many years, including me, however, when I watched the movie, though nostalgic, it didn't feel like the Dragon Ball I grew up with, and after rekindling my love for the series, I found out why.
In case you couldn't tell, I hate Dragon Ball Super, both anime and manga! I don't consider it canon to Z and it was mostly made to sell merchandize to a new generation. The inconsistencies, the retcons, the new transformations that miss the point of the original story and how they basically turn it into the Goku and Vegeta show because no one cares about the other characters, and how Toriyama, the actual creator of the series, being involve, doesn't help at all. Don't get me wrong, the man was a genius, but his mindset wasn't the same as it was back in the 90s, it's been a whole decade since then, and he had editors breathing down his neck.
The movie was an interesting idea, but it is painfully obvious that it was made to appeal to a new audience while disregarding the original fans in the process. These are the reasons why.
The setting.
The movie starts with King Kai in a telepathic communication with the fused Supreme Kai and the Elder Supreme Kai, they are talking about the God of Destruction Beerus waking up from his... Wait, what is Goku doing in King Kai's planet? And what is he wearing?!
Tumblr media
I heard Toriyama liked his track suits, but it feels a little out of character for Goku, he has always trained with his gi, and why is he training with King Kai? I'm pretty sure King Kai taught him everything he knows back in the Saiyan Saga. He's not dead anymore so he has no reason to hang out with him, specially since his planet blew up in the Cell saga.
When did they rebuild his house/ planet? Wasn't he still homeless in the Buu Saga? The movie hasn't even started and I already have so many questions.
Beerus and Whis.
Tumblr media
Next is these MFs, Beerus and Whis, fan favorites, but I simply can't stand them for so many reasons.
Lets' start with the obvious, Beerus is a God of Destruction, as oppose to the Kais who are Gods of creation, however, this cat is an A hole, he does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, from bullying mortals (and other Gods) to destroying planets on a whim, he even retcons the Z anime by saying that he told Frieza to destroy Planet Vegeta, which was an important part of his character, he was even too lazy to do it himself. Speaking of lazy, they stablish that his own existence is linked with the Supreme Kais, if that was true then why didn't he intervene when Buu was killing the Kais? Well, it's simple, he was sleeping during that time. He takes very long cat naps.
But what irks me the most about this guy, is that they don't even make him a villain! He is an antagonist here, but he is not evil, he is a God that does whatever he wants and no one stops or reprimands him, shouldn't that kind of behavior be inappropriate for a God? The closest thing he has to a superior is his assistant Whis, but he enables his behavior because he doesn't give a s*it about anyone, all he cares about is eating tasty food. So quirky!
These two characters have so much potential, but they are basically walking jokes in the guise of powerful beings.
Super Saiyan God?
The reason Beerus wakes up early from his long slumber is because he had a premonition about him fighting a "Super Saiyan God". What even is that? wouldn't it be just the Super Saiyan or a Saiyan God? Wouldn't this imply that the legendary Super Saiyan wasn't actually a big deal, like it was just a regular power boost all Saiyans can get at some point in their lives? Because in Z, the legend of the Super Saiyan was the closest thing to a God to the Saiyans, a Saiyan that breaks the limits of what is possible for their race. So where does the idea of a Super Saiyan God even come from? Did Beerus misinterpreted the legend? Did the Saiyans not know their own folklore? Was the transformation just a "tingling sensation in the back" the whole time?
Not my Goku.
Tumblr media
King Kai is anxious because he doesn't want Goku to know about Beerus, why? Because Goku would probably want to fight him...
Yes and no, Goku loves fighting strong opponents, but he has no reason to fight a God of Destruction. In the Namek saga, King Kai warned Goku about Frieza and his power, even though he wanted to meet him, he knew he was bad news from what King Kai said. When he arrived on Namek, his priority was to save his son and friends from the bad guys and get the Dragon Balls, fighting Frieza was a necessity because he was threatening his friends, and beating up Vegeta.
This movie portrays Goku as a moron who only cares about fighting and that he would actively go out of his way to pursue someone said to be way stronger than him, just because. When Beerus arrives to the planet asking about the Super Saiyan God, Goku naturally asks to fight him a little, Beerus accepts and Goku right off the bat starts showcasing all of his Super Saiyan transformations and bragging about it which is out of character.
Goku was never this cocky, he loved the trill of the fight, but he knew when to get serious.
Sure, he is over confident in his skills as a fighter because that is his area of expertise, even if sometimes he would get humbled by things like Gohan not being the same as him when it came to fighting, and Kid Buu kicking his butt after a while because he thought that if he could Power up Super Saiyan 3 it would be enough to beat him, which backfired because he lost power faster since he wasn't dead anymore, but at least he never bragged about it like he's doing here.
Is the movie trying to say that Goku is like this because he defeated Majin Buu, a notorious God killer? A fight he didn't even win by himself?
Meanwhile in Earth.
After Beerus beats Super moron 3 in record time, he heads to Earth to talk to Vegeta because of course the prince of all Saiyans would know more about the Super Saiyan lore than a Saiyan who lost all knowledge he had of his race after hitting his head as a baby.
King Kai warns him about Beerus arriving on Earth and how he defeated Goku, prompting Vegeta to wet his pants because Kakarot is suppose to be number one.
Meanwhile, Bulma is having a party to celebrate her birthday and, hey, look who is crashing it.
Tumblr media
The Pilaf gang, the first villains from OG Dragon Ball, and they look like children now. Somehow they got their hands on the Dragon Balls and wished to become young again because at this point in time they would be like...in their 50s? When King Picollo made the same wish he was like over 300 years old and super wrinkly, and Shenron understood the assignment and returned him to the prime of his youth, so either Pilaf redacted his wish wrong, or Shenron lost a few brain cells after Z.
This is a nice throwback and a funny gag having them turned into kids, but what they do with this later on is just... no.
I'm gonna end part 1 here, let me know your thoughts and if you want me to continue with part 2.

Favorite
I love this general consensus of the fandom or at least a part of it that believes that of the whole group, Nightmare's "favorite" is Killer. I agree with the idea, but he is not the favorite because of any sentimentality involved but because Killer is the easiest to handle.
If I were to say who is Nightmare's "least favorite" it has to be Dust (despite who is perhaps the one who grants the "most beautiful negative feelings" that Nightmare has seen) Dust is very volatile and too rebellious and Nightmare doesn't likes those who rebel.

Thank you. And if you don't mind, can you roast review this discourse about redemption arcs?
https://www.tumblr.com/dushman-e-jaan/694120765277306880/why-do-you-dislike-zuko-and-kurapika-when-the?source=share
Oh god, if it's anything like the previous one, I don't think I'm mentally prepared for it.
Okay, I skimmed through it and I don't have much more to say than about the previous post, except that in addition to being an immature redditor who can't be concise and is desperately trying to sound smart and grown up, they are also clearly trying way too hard to be edgy.
I've rarely seen someone managed to be that comically stupid while still being beyond uninteresting to the point that just trying to read their post make my eyes roll back so hard, I see my brain. It has a lot of volume but it's so empty and artificially pumped there's nothing to take apart.
The only response to that entire thing is 'Yes, it's a kids show, no, it doesn't become bad just because you grew up and no, acknowledging old stuff is good is not nostalgia, you are not more grown up for deluding yourself like that', there is literally nothing more to say or address.
The fact that they whine about 'not addressing the harsh realities of Imperialism' (yes, it does, you're just mad they do it with nuance instead of indulging your edgy murderboner, they even acknowledge the fact that it would create a 'mixed race' class between the colonized and the 'colonizer' and thus mean you literally can't do anything about it without denying an entire innocent demographic their right to exist, which is infinitely harsher than any surface level edgy nonsense you can fathom) while also whining that every 'revolutionary' (IE terrorists, because the Gaang, Hakoda's crew and the White Lotus are all revolutionaries, just not terrorists) is treated as insane is quite funny, they literally can't handle the harsh truth that slaughtering powerless civilians make you an insane murderer, no matter what 'greater good' you're ranting about.
Just say you simp for Hama and her Jason Voorhees LARP and Jet's delusional plan to drown an innocent town Ozai couldn't give less of a shit about and would have probably burned down anyway and go instead of whining like that.
Also the bit about Vegeta being a 'softy' for his 'waifu' show he clearly has no clue about any of the shows he's talking about. Vegeta had no qualms about killing Bulma or letting her die UNTIL he had his redemption, even in the Buu saga he came close to killing her without giving a shit once he went Majin. Dude unironically did not watch the show.
Gotta love the 'It's the death of creativity!' from someone who's clearly a pretend artist who didn't even have enough balls to try and become a frustrated failed artist. You couldn't make a character anyone give a shit about to save your life, dude, sit down.
Thanks for the ask ^^

Cowboy bebop (I mean yeah the anime about a space cowboy bounty hunter who shoots people for a living we can have spike, Faye, jet, edd, and vicious (if they feel inclined)
One punch man (saitama with a gun would be funny, (saitama, genos, tatsumaki, garou, boros or speed o sound)
Trigun (this is literally just for vash and wolfwood, that would actually be amazing)
Hellsing (imagine alucard in Fortnite, yeah take my fucking money)
Dragon ball (I know it's already in but I feel like we're missing some key players still, krillin, Broly, buu, yamcha, Tien and roshi, you may be thinking "you're asking for to much" yes and?)
Demon slayer (I feel like it deserves it and if they add a sword for the season it'd be cool for them to be bosses and get their breathing styles) (tanjiro, nezuko, inosuke, zenitsu)
More jujutsu kaisen (toji, inumaki, yuta, choso)
Baki (I don't have a reason I just wanna see baki, yujiro and pickle running around with guns)
Black clover (asta, yuno, Noelle, Yami) I mean black clover is cool, imagine grimmoires in this game
BLEACH (come on add it now) Ichigo, rukia, renji, aizen, easiest starting 4 in history and wave 2 can be just as easy, grimmjow, toshiro, yoruichii, kisuke (easiest money maker ever)
Death note (Light, L, Near, Misa) I mean it's death note I feel like that's a good one

Saw this DBS clip and a lot of the comments were people saying that Piccolo has no right to judge Vegeta, that everyone is forgetting that Piccolo was also a villain once, too. I was going to respond in the comments, but then I realized I don't want to deal with the argumentative dude bro fans of Dragon Ball, so I'm just gonna vent my opinions here... Okay, rant incoming because I'm stuck at home sick and feeling some cabin fever. Honestly, I don't blame Piccolo for having his doubts. He was there almost every time Vegeta did something with possibly world-ending consequences. Vegeta being the one to threaten the planet in the Saiyan Saga. Vegeta letting Cell go to his perfect form. Vegeta going Majin. All for selfish reasons. Yeah, at the end of the Buu Saga he came around, but... it's hard to ignore the years and years of Veggie's A-hole behavior lol. Also, Piccolo DOES have the right to judge. He started off as a villain, but he never really followed through with the evil things he intended to do. He destroyed the island during the 23rd World Tournament AFTER everyone already evacuated. He saved that rando kid and his mom from a falling sign. He caused Goku a lot of damage in the tournament, but not nearly as much damage (physically and psychologically tbh) as Goku caused him, and the way he raised/trained Gohan was to the extent of how he grew up. I would also argue that he was showing signs of being softer long before he ever even fused with Kami or Nail just because he was caring for Gohan (and how could you not, Gohan is the purest cutest thing). Also, Chi-Chi is definitely projecting here, but that's a rant for another day.

With regards to the Smol Vegeta post:
Sooooo
its not really that Vegeta has suddenly become tall
its more of I swear either they gave him a very brief growth spurt or saiyans just keep fucking growing or something lmao or maybe they biologically have another growth spurt after adulthood idk
Anyway: Allow me to present some images lol
Tumblr media
So that's Buu Saga right? So this is before we get to Super where its like just before GT but it's been about ten years, the kids are like, adults minus Goten and Trunks (who are pre their first growth spurt, saiyan biologically speaking.)
Tumblr media
Notice the height diff between Goku and Vegeta here. Vegeta is clocking in at roughly chest height for Goku while Goku towers a head and a half above Vegeta.
Now here's their height diff in media after Buu Saga: [Specifically, this was the Broly Movie]
Tumblr media
Like maybe it's just my eyes (and the fact that there is no image that just cleanly has BOTH side by side for this comparison that I can even nail down and find lmao) but thats QUITE the change right?
But hey maybe it's just that Goku is Average guy height and Vegeta is just you know, a wittle guy. Let's try it with another character whose height we know does not change outside of a good set of heels: Vegeta's Wife, Bulma.
Tumblr media
[I admit not the best grab lol]
Like he's either a little shorter or about her height.
But then....
(This is from the Broly (2018 movie) )
Tumblr media
(And this is from Super)
Tumblr media
All this to end off on:
Tumblr media
He's still small but no longer is he 'smol' so to speak lol only smol now compared to the lone average height haver LOL.
(thank you for letting me rant in your askbox about, of all things, the height of a gremlin space prince)
Tumblr media
Thank you for sharing all this with me. Knowing that the recent media has had his height inconsistent-- growth spurt or otherwise-- makes me even more of a smol Vegeta thuther <3 Hehehe
Possibly just since I haven't watched any DBZ since 2005 XD

Fuck it, Dragon Ball Posting now
So something I realized a few weeks ago Is the fact that Battle of Gods and Ressurection F are both titled as Dragon Ball Z, not Dragon Ball Super
And as other Dragon Ball fans know, the DBZ movies are all canon to Dragon Ball GT
SO, using this logic, the DBGT cast also have some of DBS's power scaling
This canonically means that Dragon Ball GT will be stronger than Dragon Ball Super, both thanks to those two movies, and the simple fact that DBS takes place during the time skip between the Majin Buu Saga and the End of Z saga, meanwhile DBGT takes place some years after End of Z.
Even if the events of Super aren't canon to GT, Battle of Gods and Ressurection F are, thus upscaling GT to hell and back.
I'm surprised nobody else talks about this, but it's there. Anyways, thank you for coming to my small rant.

πŸŒ“ crossovers : I'm probably what you might call the corssover king. When it comes to my boy I would cross them into ANY other verse. Pokemon, Attack of titan...gundam? You name it and they're gonna enter it.
πŸŽ‰ the fan favorite character of my muse’s canon : I googled searched the SNK poll to find out who's reigning number 1 and ACCORDING to Google that's good ol' Terry Bogard. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about the guy. I'm not his biggest fanboy but he's cool and I don't mean cool as an excuse not to talk more about the guy I mean COOL like the man is Him. He's got a good presence, design and quotable attacks. To this day I still play smash bros and yell out 'R U OKAY!?'.
As for DBZ/Super I did THREE Google searches and both times they gave me Gohan and it shocked me so i dug into THAT poll specifically and it was a jump poll from all the way back in '95. Sad how much the world made sense after discovering it because the majority of the fandom don't give a fuck about this:
Tumblr media
and only want this :
Tumblr media
Like BRUH, if my mans want to hit the books on the regular and then let him do it. Because we ALL know he's just gonna get another boost and then fall off all over again. I'm the minority in this but I much prefer Gohan the scholar. BUT that's neither here nor there, the winner of DBZ/Super popularity poll is Goku and I'm not surprised.
Whilst Goku to me has 'fallen off' of what made me like him in the first place from Ball and Z, I can still admit he's got his moments in Super where I see a glimmer of the Goku I remembered. Though I will say Buu Saga Goku was more of a mixed bag for me but it's really for ONE scene but no one wants to hear about that cause you'd have me ranting here all day.
