i totally dont almost exclusively draw my ocs bc fucking them up feels less bad than messing up drawing existing characters noooo
#i feel SO BAD when i mess up drawing a character i love. like im drawing an actual person who would be offended by my lack of skill#i am. very mediocre as an artist lets say. i can do certain things somewhat well i fuck up a lot but you can generally tell what was meant#to be??#but yk. sometimes i make something that is far above my average (cough the zenos painting that almost killed my hand cough)#rather often i mess up and make something worse (sometimes even just because i get insecure. like i project that insecurity onto the page)#that painting coincidentally is my most recent attempt at a character who isnt mine. btw. i made it what. in july? august?#ITS BEEN A WHILE#like i want to draw my faves but i feel like i should get better first. yk?
