i also have small hands, am art artist, have wrist issues, and have speedrun before- and went into game dev- you seriously dont get how utterly fucked the controller situation is atm.

so for ref my hand from the wrist connection to the tip of my middle(longest) finger is 6 inches or about 15 cms..my hand being pretty equal preportions fingers to palm. My hands are fucking small and most controllers I've used are too big.

i grew up using a ps2 controller, which is a style I still prefer. It DOES make reaching the l1/l2 and r1/r2 buttons hard at times, it strains on my index/middle (as typically you'd use those or the shoulder/triggers and the thumb for face buttons). i assume my preference is partly due to my small hands, I have been able in the past to find small dualshock style controllers(i have a madcats wireless ps2 that I fucking adore, and I also partially really like the size of the hori ps4- if the shoulder buttons werent fucking AWFUL). It might be because of the size of my palms? Like thinking about it a lot of people seem to prefer the grip of an xbox controller, the different placement of the sticks makes you hold more of the controller in your hand..but i don't have more hand than most people. Tho i have little experience using a xbox controller to really make a solid conclusion.

ANOTHER thing that people forget- even in this post, which isnt surpsing lol is, Im also lefthanded. Thankfully for the most part this doesnt mean much, but during the DS/3DS era god anything not published by nintendo it was just a crapshoot whether lefties were even thought of. My ability to use a stylus with my right hand its probs worse than a kid, and soooo many games were purposely made to use it that way (and then like do whatever else with the dpad). thankfully most of the good stuff had options where you could turn the consol around or use the face buttons instead- accomidation for lefties. Actually looking at my ds now, the stylus is literally located on the right side lol.

i think i had a point somewhere but totally lost it, I just got excited at the prospect of ranting about my tiny hands and how shit its accomidated for lol. and being left handed...i never get to rant about it and still to this day get my shit rocked because of it sometimes.
