Hockey Poetry Post 11/?
(Photo credit: Len Redkoles, Nicole Vasquez, Justin Berl, Jamie Sabau, Patrick Smith, Bruce Bennett)
Note: This is only ¼th of the hockey OT3 poem, but it's my favourite part so it gets its own post.
#I actually like this part better as a stand alone than as a part of the Whole Thing because it is so much more hopeful and sweet this way#as opposed to the Tanger poem. which. when separated from the rest suddenly becomes pretty damn depressing#either way.#hockey poetry posts#pittsburgh penguins#evgeni malkin#I dont want to keep tagging these with Louise Glück because I dont think the people looking through the gluck tag are looking for hockey#but yea its Louise Glück again#also scheduling this for 16.00 pm because I have this unreasonable fear of my boss finding my blog one day and firing me for posting#hockey content when I should be working which would be SUCH A LAME REASON to get fired#ok that's all.

love all the poems!! do you have any poetry book recs??
HI YEA HERES A POETRY REC GO WATCH THIS VIDEO ITS SHORT AND ITS BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVE IT VERY MUCH
sorry for yelling
I've already done a few rounds of these - most recent one can be found here - so I'll try not to mention all the same books again & instead give you a quick list of poetry books I've been reading lately & that I've enjoyed.
Louise Glück is of course a forever favourite, Averno used to be my favourite collection of hers, but I'm slowly coming around to Ararat.
Ada Limón, The Hurting Kind (& if you like this check out Bright Dead Things)
Leonard Cohen, Book of Longing
Traci Brimhall, Come the Slumberless to the Land of Nod. (didn't think I was going to like this but I DID)
Diana Khoi Nguyen, Ghost Of (Suicide TW. A lot of the poems in this collection are formatted either in the shape of a person or written around the empty shape of a person. The poet explains that two years before he committed suicide, her brother cut himself out of every family photo. Visually stunning but so so so heartbreaking)
Keaton Henson, Idiot Verse (first poetry book I ever bought. still lovely)
Carlo Rovelli has a book called The Order of Time that's technically more popsci. than poetry but it still goes on this list. In a similar vein: The End of Everything (Astrophysically Speaking) by Katie Mac
Li-Young Lee, Rose (forever favourite)
ALSO!! VERY IMPORTANT!! NEW SIKEN POEMS COMING SOON!
W.S. Merwin, The Shadow of Sirius
That's all for now. If you're looking for more poetry, I have a poetry rec tag for all the poems that have been recommended to me by my followers & mutuals. Worth checking that out.
Much love. x
#poetry rec#added links to a poem I like by every poet I listed#just click on their names#Rovelli is the exception to this but I linked his Goodreads so you can see if you like his style of writing#also I haven't mentioned ocean vuong but this is mostly because im still working my way through all of his stuff
