Holy shit 54 games 18 goals compared to 65 games and 66 goals 🤯 How tf do people say Alex is better than her especially with how much younger Viv is I mean?? Also look who Alex plays with on the USWNT vs Viv with the Dutch national team. The Dutch national team has become one of the strongest national teams in the world as of late but they have never been as consistently a powerhouse like the US has throughout the entirety of Alex’s career, which makes Vivs NT stats even more impressive.

I don’t think a lot of people realize what Viv brought to her national team. She was the main reason why they qualified for the 2015 wwc, their first ever. She was 17/18 during the qualification matches and the whole country was looking at her to make it happen. She scored 10 goals in the 7 games she played, including the only two goals in the last deciding match.

The team in 2014/2015 had a lot of the same players they do now but most weren’t even full pro’s yet. Looking at players like Daan, Lieke, Stephanie and others it’s night and day. They have grown so much in the past 5 years, Viv though, she was already on the level she is now when she was 17, that’s what is so impressive about her. She got better of course but her skill level was already insane in 2014.

Alex walked into a team with players like Abby, Carli, Hope, Heather, Rampone and others. She had all the chances to score as much as Viv does but she doesn’t. Stats don’t lie in this situation, she is overhyped and probably always will be.
