Liliana and Millie's relationship is a very importarnt part of malcatras' maiden, they're not biologically related by any means but they were raised and treat each other like sisters just like all the other maids, they've grown up together in the same enviroment (cult) basically their whole lives, the kick is that Millie has an genuine feeling love and even borderline obsession with Lilli, while, even if Lilli does love her, she has an udiyng dedication to Francesca Malcatras, their adoptive mother and the person who indoctrinated them both into the cult. I'm not gonna spoil the endgame but to me it's deeply tragic how Milli still believes that Liliana can change and she can break free from her obsession with lady malcatras and they can love each other once and for all, you know how that turns out in the end

when aya is being bullied, she becomes a magical girl and meets tsuyuno, another magical girl who saves her from her bullies. both girls are deeply mentally scarred from the tragic lives they've lived. they eventually fall in love and they kiss!! and only after that (and after tsuyuno dies) does aya learn that tsuyuno is her twin sister separated at birth. when aya finds this out, her only reaction is to smile and basically be like "ah, so we really were fated to be together"... basically canon that they are soulmates by virtue of being twins.

Emmaemi - Emma Woods x Emily Dyer (Identity V) VS. Aya Asagiri x Tsuyuno Yatsumura (Mahou Shoujo Site)

Problematic elements for Emmaemi:

Emily, a nurse, did undercover abortions on women. During one such abortion, the patient died. The patient was Emma's mother. After this, Emily fled and began working for a church that "treated" kids from an orphanage via electroshock therapy. One of the kids that Emily performed electroshock therapy on was Emma. Years later when they're both adults, they meet again and neither recognize each other. Emily does note that Emma reminds her of one of the kids she "treated." Due to her guilt, she tries to treat Emma's delusions (she believes a scarecrow is her lover), which results in the two getting extremely close. Most people are uncomfortable with this ship because of the aforementioned electroshock therapy, as well as the ten year age gap. They also don't like the ship due to Emma's complicated mental state.
