actually the entire movie Still Breathing from 1997 has autistic vibes, not just the main characters. Fletcher comes from a line of people who found their “soulmates” because of dreams, and they all find it very ordinary. Fletcher also does very odd things like play classical music in rivers and cut faces out of magazines to construct depictions of his soulmate, and yet his grandma thinks it’s great. Autistic people often have autistic relatives, so things that would seem odd to more neurotypical families become very commonplace and accepted in autistic families. Also, the entire movie is both about being jaded about humans, and about having a sense of wonder about fate and art, a dichotomy often obvious in autistic individuals. Additionally, the movie is very focused on colors, which always resonates with me specifically because sometimes my autistic brain thinks of things in colors rather than words. And don’t forget that so many of the scenes are just random moments where someone is doing something mundane that doesn’t drive the plot, almost like the audience is in parallel play with the characters-
